Lord Crump appears to be the second-in-command
of the mysterious X-Nauts. Well, by that I mean he's the only apparent
ranking member of the group other than Grodus, but he's only been seen
leading small squadrons of X-Nauts and is bossed around like any other
lackey by his leader. Grodus even ended up betraying Crump, essentially
throwing him to the hounds, by making him guard the seventh Crystal Star
from Mario. Grodus didn't care who won that battle - either way someone
would end up with all the Crystal Stars and the Thousand-Year door could
be unlocked - but Crump didn't know this and ended up getting blasted into
space. It is unknown how Crump fell in with the X-Nauts considering
he does not look like the grunts in the group and is not robotic like Grodus.
We do know that Crump is very tech-savvy as he appears to have built the
robot Magnus Von Grapple and its powerful upgrade. Despite this,
Crump does not come across as too intelligent, easily fooled as he is,
and is probably best known for his buh huh huh laugh. Outside
his robot, Crump doesn't have too much going on in the way of attacks.
Lord Crump was the last of the sixteen fighters named to wildcard spots for the Season Ten Tournament, as I was finally won over by arguments about his strength of schedule. All four of his victories came against tournament qualifiers, as did three of his defeats, so he's fought some big names and hung in there. Though a longshot, he came close to taking home the victory, but in the end it was Roy who won and advanced.
