Also known as Phantamanta, Manta Storm is a manta ray that spewed electrically charged paint on Sirena Beach in Super Mario Sunshine. Though he's treated as a miniboss I consider him to be more difficult than most of the rest of the bosses in the game.  After he takes a bunch of damage he'll split into a horde of mini-mantas, which doesn't make things any easier as Mario will probably take some cheap shots as he tries to squirt them down.

Though he may look flimsy, Manta Storm was a tough customer in Season Four of the Sports Hall, when he defeated an eventual two-time Round Three qualifier, an alien warlord, and a guy who was pretty much invincible in the game in which he appeared, to make it into Round Three himself, but he couldn't uproot Piranha Plant to reach the finals.  He tried to leave his mark again in Season Seven but was quickly kicked out.

Manta Storm revamped itself for the Season Ten Tournament as Seed 59, but couldn't suppress the progress of one of the highest rated fighters in Kamek, getting eliminated from the first round.
