Tutankoopa is an apparent Koopa pharoah-wannabe
who appeared in Dry Dry Ruins of Paper Mario. He tried to scare Mario
away as he explored the ruins but when that didn't work, he had to take
on Mario himself, and actually, his bark was worse than his bite.
Well, the Chain Chomp he would summon in battle certainly had a nasty bite,
but as for Tutankoopa himself, he could throw some shells until his pile
ran out, and he could put on a lightshow at the end of which a rock would
fall, maybe hitting Mario but also possibly hitting himself. The
fact that he stands atop a platform suspended in the air makes the battle
trickier than if he were on the ground, but overall I think he's easier
than Buzzar, an earlier miniboss. I like to consider that Tutankoopa
also appeared in Mario Pinball, though apparently that pharoah goes by
another name...
Thanks to wins against multiple opponents at once as well as matchups against some tough challengers, Tutankoopa has the highest Sports Hall rank out of anyone not to have reached Round Three. He heads up this rare breed of tournament qualifiers, entering at rank 34. An easy win over Mastadoom in the first round helps to keep hope alive for the little guys, but his next fight won't be easy, for in Round Two he'll be facing Mr. L, fresh off his victory over Roy. Tutankoopa will need all the power of the ancient Pharoahs to survive this one!
