Melodies Forever

By Teela Yoshi

Time: Unknown, Setting: Chaos Castle near the nurned down lab

Shot glared defiantly towards Karma, Reema, Ludwig, and finally Vara. Wreckless was looking puzzledly at Shot, his look of confusion a bit too oblivious. Maybe he was acting stupid, Karma considered, as she sat upon the ground.

"Yes, I do have a problem with that," Shot replied simply to Ludwig, Shot looking to the ground, not bothering to look at any of them once more. "I have a very big problem with that. You've killed some of our top scientists, no doubt. Only god knows what they were doing, but either way, it was Chaos's, and you destroyed it. I have a very big problem with that." Shot's voice was devoid of feeling. His blondish hair was short, not moving an inch as his head was tilted. He smiled, smiling very widely, and he looked up, his eyes huge.

"I can take them," Reema muttered simply to herself, Karma right next to her, seeing she was already having trouble trying to devise a plan, and rather quickly.

"We're doomed," Karma stated simply to herself, making sure Reema didn't hear. Ludwig was looked to Wreckless and Shot; Karma shook her head in disappointment. He had warmed up to fighting, but he wasn't very good at it, and just because he was sure of himself now, it still probably wouldn't do much good. They were doomed; Karma's leg was broken, she couldn't dodge anything. Vara probably couldn't do anything, she was as helpless as Karma, and Karma knew it. She looked to Vara; Vara was still as confused as when she had woken up...

"So what're you gonna do 'bout it?" Ludwig asked, clenching his fist. He felt his throat heating up.

"Ludwig, be quiet," Reema ordered, looking to Karma. "Keep the axe; if they come near you, do your best to get out of the way. Ludwig, I want you to... do your best. Vara, do... whatever it is... you do..." Reema herself knew it as well. They were doomed; Karma couldn't move, Vara was too unprepared, and Ludwig was full of himself. Also, Reema's stomach was pounding furiously. She just wanted to lay down and sleep, she wanted to escape the heat in her throat. Sure, she was happy she was finally able to accomplish what her family was supposed to be good at, even if it was a bit too late. She didn't know if she could throw more fire again; her throat was too hot as it was, and was beginning to itch. At every angle, the odds were against them. They were on their last knee, and even that was already about gone.

"Um... They're not going to hurt us, are they?" Vara asked a bit childishly. Ludwig nodded.

"They're not going to hurt us; they're going to kill us." And with that, Ludwig shook his head. His tail was slightly fringed, and in a way, it looked a bit frayed. He was annoyed at the two men; he knew not even of what they were. In a way they looked completely human, but he doubted that highly. There were no regular human on Plit... but there were humanoids. Then, as quickly as he thought about it, he told himself it mattered not what they were. Soon they'd be dead, and he would make sure of it.

"Oh, so much more than that. Every single one of you is going to be thrust into the ground so hard, not even the ground will be able to tell you from dirt," Wreckless said, trying to say something actually intimidating, but failing. It was more confusing than anything.

"This is taking too long." Reema spoke, flipping up; in another blink of an eye, her blood-covered Ninja-suit was covering her once more. She now held a small knife, its container tied around her string of golden symbols that was more like a belt around her waist. She was glowering, Shot looking disgustingly to her outfit.

"That's... your... fighting outfit? A bit... grimicing..."

"Well, as grimicing as this is, your face in the ground with this knife in your head will be a much prettier sight, then, eh?" Reema asked as Shot glared. He laughed; in another moment, he was right in front of Reema. She laughed too, bringing the knife into his shoulder the minute he tried to grasp her throat.

"Trying to finish me rather quickly?" Reema asked as Shot toppled backwards, the knife coming out as quickly as it had touched him. His wound was now an open one, the blood immediately present. He put his hand over it, Reema shaking her head. "You shouldn't try the Shin-Thrust-Force upon a... I guess you'd call me a ninja, but... You shouldn't try that, as every ninja is taught how to avoid that in their basics training. It involves using your ankle to thrust forward, making the enemy think you're going to jump, but instead you twist your left leg slightly, giving it away, but also giving you the slight thrust you need. You did it at the wrong angle, and I already saw you preparing for the attack while you were talking. You were twisting your body oh so slightly, getting ready for the moment I twitched my neck so you could thrust forward and possibly grab my neck, bring me to the ground, twist your hand slightly, and snap my neck with such little force. Nice try, but done all wrong. Sorry." Reema smiled as Shot stared, his eyes widening. Reema then shook her head. "And here I thought you'd be... a chellenge... You're nothing... compared to what we just had. And what does your little friend have?"

Wreckless perked up; he was just standing there, staring at Ludwig and Vara.

"Him? He's... a lot better than me with strength." Shot glanced to Wreckless, nodding. In a blink of an eye, Wreckless sped towards Ludwig, his hands behind his neck. He jumped up, little more than a blur, but just as quickly as he had jumped up, he was thrown to the ground. Reema had him pinned, her foot on Wreckless' chest.

"Still got anything else? I now have been able to identify what both of you are. You are both humanoids, it seems, as you are demon wannabes. I can tell being as when you try to use quick techniques, you apparently have adopted the demon's footing position. But you fail to realize that they have certain energies that allow them to be quick, that allow them to almost rip away from their current position and end up elsewhere with little effort. You guys are trying to thrust yourselves, but lack the energy and end up using your own strength. Demon wannabes. Awesomely... Pathetic." Reema had given another detailed example of their attack. Wreckless was staring up at her. Suddenly, without hesitation, he grabbed Reema's ankle, and swung her behind them. He shoved himself up, Reema on the ground, grunting.

"And that was?" Wreckless asked smartly, Reema on the ground. Wreckless placed a foot on her stomach, his foot covered in dried blood.

"Ugh... A counter reverse.... You took my own force I was applying in my foot to keep you down on the ground, and you equivalented your own strength to negate mine... Very... good..." Reema sighed, her breathing heavy. "But..." She then took a deep breath, and let out a whirl of consuming flames. Wreckless' abdominal area was hit suddenly and he screamed, Shot still staring. He had previously been smiling with Reema was on the ground, but now he was a bit shocked.

"You're full of surprises," Ludwig muttered to Reema as she stood up.

"Ludwig, I want you to withdraw into your shell. I'm going to use you as a sort of shield, ok?"

Ludwig stared at her like she was crazy for a moment, but then nodded, knowing he had almost no choice. Karma couldn't do it, and Vara... hem wasn't sure of anything about her.

"Karma..." Vara sort of had crawled over to by Karma, sitting impatiently.

"What, Vara?"

"What's wrong with your leg?"

"I broke it," Karma replied simply, her hands still on her knee. From her knee down, it burned and she could hardly move. She wanted to cry, but now was certainly not the time.

"Broke? As in... snapped it in half?"

"Yes, I believe so," Karma replied as Vara nodded.

"I... t-think.... I-I can fix it... Please don't... hit me..." Vara held her hands in front of her face as Karma stared at her wildly.

"Why would I hit you?" Karma asked, feeling a bit awkwardly surprised.

"Don't hit me like you hit Ludwig all the time... Don't pick me up and throw me to the ground for trying to help you at times..."

"What?!" Karma asked, but then found herself thinking. Ludwig had tried to help her at times... she had nearly picked him up and thrown him to the ground. Only once had she actually succeeded in almost lifting Ludwig off of the ground. " I won't... hit you... I'm your friend. I care about you, Vara."

"And you don't care about Ludwig? He, after all, is your Met."

"How did you... know that?!" Karma asked as Vara shrugged.

"I... dunno... I just... I don't know, I saw this... when I was asleep, I saw a lot of things. And one of those things was you saying you wish you never had a Metbond with Ludwig, you wish he wasn't your Met, you hate him, and you're going to beat him up every chance you get."

"No, no, no. I only hit Ludwig when I feel he is being very rude."

"But..."

"Look, Vara, I swear I'm not going to hurt you!" Karma felt rather annoyed at the way Vara was acting like she was a monster.

"Ok..." Vara replied as she then shut her eyes, glaring harshly as they opened. "Don't yell," Vara said, her voice growing slightly deranged. Her eyes began to glow, her hair flickering here and there as the wind seemed to rush around her. Her eyes went from glowing black to glowing a very pure white color, her pupils gone, her eyes just solid white. She placed her claws on Karma's leg. Karma turned away, but instantly felt her entire leg began to burn sheerly. She screamed as Reema and Ludwig turned to look, Reema pausing, Shot then taking that moment to punch her. Ludwig was trying to duck into his shell, but was seemingly now too weak to force himself, and Wreckless then kicked him.

In a matter of moments, Vara had been thrown back, she laying on the grass, breathing heavily.

"T-there." Vara muttered, turning her head, her eyes shutting.

"I... It... doesn't... hurt... anymore." Karma muttered, taking that time to get up, though staring at Vara at the same time. She felt her own leg, feeling it as she walked. It was in perfect shape... "Y-you... YOU... FIXED IT...." With that, she smiled, then noticed Vara was not moving. "Vara?"

"I-I'm just... tired." Vara said, trying with all her might to sound ok.

"It's all right, Vara, I'm going to fight now. I feel as if I've got all the energy in the world..."

With that, Karma raced at Wreckless, jumped up with one knee bent back, and brought that leg right into Wreckless's face.

"W-wow... Never... jumped... that high..." Karma muttered, Wreckless on the ground, moaning. His abdominal areas were still burning, the clothing where his stomach was now completely obliterated. Reema was breathing heavily, her paws on her knees, her tail lagging on the ground.

"Reema, can't you throw an egg or something?" Ludwig asked, laying on his stomach, forcing himself into his shell now. "All right, go about with your plan."

Reema rolled her eyes, trying desperately to pick Ludwig up.

"You know what, never mind a sheild. Can you... I dunno... shell surf?"

"WHAT?!" Ludwig's shocked tone was muffled but still noticeable. "The way Yoshis treat Koopas is tragic..." he joked as Reema chuckled slightly.

"Go towards the other guy. Shot... I think he said his name was," Reema whispered barely audibly as Ludwig's shell began to spin around, Reema jumping on. "Agh! Balance... Balance..." She began to move around in the opposite direction of Ludwig's shell, her boots colliding with a spike on his shell once in awhile. They looked like a spinning combo of a Yoshi and a Koopa.

"I feel sick..." Reema complained, though her words were slurred. Ludwig was too busy trying with all his might to keep this speed going to reply to her.

Shot watched as they came towards him. They were fast, but not terribly so. He could jog faster than the speed they were going at. He then turned around, however, to find Karma. Karma grinned widely, drawing back her fist and trying to hit him in the fist. He dodged, though her smile widened, she bringing her other fist into his stomach, sending him onto the ground. Ludwig and Reema were now flying towards him, as Karma simply stepped out of the way.

Ludwig's shell collided with Shot's motionless body, his screaming and flailing ceasing. Reema then brought the knife down, making contact with his ankle. He wouldn't be moving any more after that...

As soon as Reema's knife made contact with Shot's leg, she let herself be thrown off of Ludwig's shell, she barely landing on her feet. A few feet away from where Shot lay, Reema was breathing heavily, the world spinning madly. Karma was laughing, though trying not to look at Shot's body.

"I can't believe he fell for that! Not even Ludwig falls for that!" Karma mocked as Ludwig was on his stomach once more, tired and breathing even more heavily than Reema.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Ludwig asked seriously.

"At least Vara is safe...." Reema said, walking over to her. Karma watched, looking to her fists.

"Yes, yes... I can't believe she managed to heal my leg, though..." Karma muttered as Ludwig lay there, just watching. "I'm glad she's ok."

As soon as they all had their backs turned, Shot sat up. He pulled out what appeared to be a gun, a smile forming painfully on his face. By the time Reema turned to look at him, he had pulled the trigger. The bullet was flying straight for Vara.

"Not... for... long..." he finished, his body going absent of anything now, he falling back onto the ground with a thud.

Before anyone could to anything, the bullet had pierced Vara's head, speeding more or less up through her jaw...

A few more screams were heard, cries of "No!"' and "Not after all this!" from Reema, Karma, and Ludwig... and nothing more.

Settings: Kastle Koopa

Bowser stood looking openly out on the good amount of the forest that had long since haunted and ruled over his land. He would probably never realize he didn't own the land- the trees and even what one would call "Nature" did. He could always destroy the trees- eventually they'd come back. He couldn't yell orders at the trees. Though it seemed never to pass his mind- why would it? It was such a primitive way to think, not too mention what one would call bizzarre.

"Where in a Koopa's shell would they have gone?!" He was frustrated. They had been looking a little over a half an hour. He was furious, but it was shallowed, losing against his concern. He may have been the rottenest, (stupidest?) most misunderstanding, meanest even, creature that ever walked the face of Plit. But this was his son, his first born, the one who had disappointed him often, and even though Bowser would later ask himself why he cared so much, he DID. He was concerned, a feeling, like love, we've no control over.

Emotions are merely clouds to the mind- but we cannot control them if they are TRUE. There are different levels of every emotion, but love, however, true love is controlling. Bowser did love his son, and though he never would say it, his heart (no matter the size) had that much power over him. Bowser did care, and not just because Clawdia was wailing over Ludwig, he really did care. He really was concerned.

And because of that, one single tear did roll down his face. It burned hot against his scales; more burned inside of him. He felt his entire body- it was hot, though he wasn't sweaty. He was heavy, as he felt like lead, and he merely wished he could get somewhere. Had they run away? He even, for a moment, wondered if Ludwig did even care for Karma. Would he willingly run off with her somewhere? Maybe he had pushed Ludwig too far over Karma...

Bowser then did something he wouldn't ever do. He got to his knees and began to say a silent prayer. Though it looked rediculous- silly even?- an overgrown, overweight even, Koopa on his knees praying.

"Please, DAD, please... Give me back my son." It wasn't just funny- it would have been ridiculous, and most would have said insincere if he was on public TV, that Lord King Bowser Koopa, the meanest, in this time at least, Koopa to ever walk Plit, was praying. But, he was sincere, he was on his knees. The moment he stood up, he couldn't hold that burning feeling inside him any longer. He began to cry- and these tears too, like his prayer, were sincere. In a moment, however, he took hold of himself and grunted. He crossed his arms as though to take an attitude with someone, but of course, no one, to his knowledge, was here.

Settings: Northern Half of The Castle,
Time: 6:02

Larry Koopa looked silently, sneakily even, up in the northern half of the castle, a little ways away from Kamek's lab. His blue hair lolled easily as he tapped upon one of the walls, a manic grin sprouting wildly on his face.

"Ludwig up kissin' Karma here?" he asked no one, though looking over his shoulder, half-expecting to find them just appearing from nowhere. His snide grin faded rather quickly- it had been a bit more than a half an hour, and they couldn't just be gone nowhere. Not for half and hour- it was too long. They had been gone for much longer, sure, but from what Larry knew they had been searching for half an hour. It, however, seemed much more whilst everyone else was panicking.

The hallways looked a great deal less freaky this the day. The torches were lit- but not in a shadowy inferno way. The didn't house that possession on one's eyes that they did at night. Larry looked for a moment at one of the torches- he had checked the entire northern half wing of the castle. He looked in the Northern Wing Library. (There indeed were two, but only one open to everyone. He knew the only way to get in it; it was supposedly Kamek's lab.) The only place he hadn't been was Kamek's lab- he surely knew he was forbidden there. Surely he had nothing to lose by at least sneaking in there. And if Kamek caught him, surely he could merely explain the situation...

Larry debated it for a moment, contrasting the situation to others even. He then shrugged- life, to him, was all risks. Even at his age, he knew that better than most things. He began to head towards Kamek's lab...
