Melodies Forever

By Teela Yoshi

Setting: Creepy Evil Castle that makes you scared, Time: ???

“Master. I’ve killed the fanged scum. That should take care of him, and the puny Yoshi,” the golden-red hair girl said as she held her bow and arrow like it was some sort of treasure.

“Yes. So you have. Now you want what you asked for, I presume?” a shadowy figure said as he was watching a screen. It had the Illusion Village on it, and all the zombies.

“Please… if you will, Master Chaos. Please bring my family back!”

”HA! YOU ACTUALLY THOUGHT I’D HELP YOU? A HUMAN WHO IS NOTHING MORE THAN A SPECK ON THIS PLANET? YOU ARE FOOLISH AND WEAK TO CARE FOR YOUR FAMILY! FOR ONE WHO WISHES TO SUCCEED MUST CARE FOR NO ONE BUT THEMSELVES! HA!” Lord Chaos said. His voice could scare even the strongest man.

“We had a deal!” she screamed as a magic black ball surrounded her, blocking all air. She couldn’t breathe as she slowly died.

“All of you are the same. PATHETIC LITTLE SPECKS!” he said as the girl slid to the ground.

Time: 7:20 AM

“Give the girl to Karma and Vara. Your effects should take you soon,” Kamek explained to Venoma, who looked slightly confused.

“What? What do you mean?”

“It will be painful. You will practically die, but then again you won’t. It will be like a war of good and evil inside you. And you'd better hope it's good that wins.”

“Eh?” He then felt it. It was now too late. He dropped to the floor immediately, and Kamek motioned Karma to help carry him. Vara grabbed Teela, and hoisted her on her back.

_

Setting: Some type of dark area, Time: 7:24 AM

“Where? Where am I?” Venoma said as he stared into the blank black darkness that surrounded him. It was like being in an eternal dark void that would surround you forever, and he was not liking it.

“Venoma?” Teela yelled as she looked in utter amazement.

“Nice to see you here. I thought I lost you back there.” Venoma sat down, no longer in fear because Teela was there.

“Yeah. I think we’re… dead.”

“No. Kamek even told me that something like this would happen. He said I’d practically die. Although… I don’t know why you’re here if you’re dead.”

“You took a lot out of me. My heart must still be beating.” Teela’s voice had a shallow, dark and gloomy tone in it. Venoma wondered what they were going to do now.

“I hope so. I so desperately didn’t want to hurt you. Yet you told me-“

“It’s alright. I told you that I’ll be fine…”

”If you say so…”

Teela’s arm then grew transparent. Venoma’s face turned into a sorrowful look with a tinge of worry. Then he looked completely horrified.

“I think that means I’m leaving. For good. As in leaving this world.”

”NO! Teela. Face it, and fight it. I know you can.”

_

Setting: Koopa Kastle Medical Facility, Time: 7:40 AM

“GRAB THE RED ONE!” shouted a medical Shy Guy as he stuck a needle in Teela’s arm. A bag of green liquid was overhead. Venoma was in a bed across from her. He was being tended to by a nurse. The nurse was just checking for bruises.

“This one's going to make it. He should be coming back soon,” the nurse said as she turned to Kamek.

“Don’t say anything to King Koopa. These are my… guests. We were caught in a broom accident,” Kamek lied as he smiled a fake smile. The nurse completely bought the story.

“I understand. We will take care of them. You may go wait in the waiting room.” She then headed for Teela, and sighed.

“You poor creature. That Kamek always pushes people far beyond their limits. I just don’t know if she’s going to make it…”

 _

Time: 7:47 AM

“Well, it appears as if its time for me to go,” Venoma silently said as he turned around. He was glowing a baby blue color. He turned around, and said a silent prayer. He turned back towards Teela, and he watched her sigh. “See you on the other side.”

”I… Yeah. I’ll make it. For Plit’s sake.”

Venoma disappeared, leaving Teela there in the forever, forlorn darkness, a darkness which in a way was soothing, but filled the heart of loneliness and dread. Teela sighed once more before feeling a jab of pain in her arm. A pain which felt like a needle.

”I hope...” She didn't finish her sentence, not wanting to ruin Venoma’s hope. Teela was twelve years old, and she didn’t plan on dieing that young. Her parents had died, and she didn't want to be reunited with them yet. Not so soon…

_

Time: 7:52 AM

“SHE’S GOT ENOUGH TO KEEP HER HEART GOIN'!”

“Then WHY AIN’T SHE WAKING UP?”

”Use the Dysleepinator.”

“That? That’s something that wakes a person up!”

“THEN WAKE HER UP!”

“Alright,” a Shy Guy said as he pulled a bottle of liquid out. He put it under Teela’s nose, and it smelled terrible. Teela didn’t move. She didn’t even flinch.

_

Time: 7:52 AM

“Why?” Teela asked no one. Suddenly two figures appeared in front of her. They were two Boos.

“Hello T!” a Boo with a bow in her hair said happily.

“Yeah…” the other Boo said, he looking serious. The voices were familiar to Teela, and she felt safe with them.

“Who are you?”

”Teela. You don’t remember?”

”M…MOM? DAD?”

”Yes darling. We are here to speak to you.”

“About me going to wherever you go when you die?”

”No… We are here to say sorry,” Teela’s father said, as he looked sympathetic.

“For what?”

”Your fangs. We should have known. Well... I should have known,” Teela’s father said in a kindhearted voice she hadn’t heard since the days she did not have these fangs upon her face.

“Yeah? Is this all? You only tell me you’re sorry? You’re my parents. YOU SHOULD HAVE TAKEN ME FOR WHO I WAS!” Teela yelled at them. She then turned away. She was completely devastated by her behavior, but they deserved it. She was not the monster… they were. At least she thought that for a moment.

“I love you,” she said as she turned around to face them once more. They assumed their Yoshi forms, and hugged her. Teela was glowing a blue color as she turned transparent again.

”We love you too. We always will, and we shall watch over you,” her father and mother said as they waved goodbye.

“One more thing. Go home. To our home. There I shall give you what is rightfully yours,” her father exclaimed as her mother smiled again. Teela then disappeared to wake up in Kastle Koopa.

_

Time: 7:56 AM

“NOTHING IS WORKING!” one of the medical Shy Guys exclaimed as Teela opened her eyes.

“SHE IS AWAKE!” the nurse yelled as Teela sat up. “ Dear, you mustn’t sit up. You’re not fully healed yet!”

”I don’t care. I’m out of here.” Teela closed her eyes, and concentrated on her home. Her family’s home. She was hoisted in the air, and then she disappeared.

“KAMEK! YOUR PATIENT JUST LEFT!”

Everyone walked into the room to find no one. Venoma had been talking with everyone outside, and now he was shocked. What would cause her to leave, he wondered. Teela was gone. At least she was alive.

_

Setting: Somewhere in Illusion Forest, House, Time: 8:02 AM

“I’m here… in this creepy forest. The forest that wrecked my life, and then repaired it once more.”

Teela was standing in front of her house, the house which she left so long ago to escape, and find a better life. Would she find her parents here? She opened the door to walk into an eerie silence, and a moonlight type of darkness. Just the way Teela liked it, and would always like it. She then shut the door behind her, and headed up the creaking stairs that her father himself had made, along with help from her mother and herself.

Up the stairs were the rooms and things. Teela didn’t know which one to enter.

“Mom? Dad?” Teela’s voice echoed through the deserted house. The walls were made out of the wood from the Illusion Forest, and that made Teela sense a faint magic feeling within her skin. She then decided to head down to the basement instead.

“HELLO?!” Still no answer. Teela continued to wander down the stairs, taking as much time as possible. She reached the ground floor again, and headed towards the kitchen. She found that everything was as it had been; nothing had been touched since she'd left. “I guess the orphanage didn’t come looking for me,” she said happily as she opened the door that led into a long staircase. She headed down, and around the winding staircase that seemed like it would never end. She reached the bottom, and looked around at the old basement.

“Mom? Dad? I’m home! You told me to come here!” Teela called happily as she realized she heard something near the window. She looked at the dusty window, and sighed. “Mom never did clean the windows like she said she would.”

”CHIRP!” a little red bird called from outside the window. Teela smiled, and pushed open the beautiful, yet dusty glass.

“How did you find me? I’m terribly sorry I’ve not paid much attention to you lately. It’s just… you know how it is. So much happening. Forgive me?”

“Chirpy!”

”Yes. That is true. What kind of friend would you be, if you didn’t forgive me? Not a very good one, that’s for sure!” Teela giggled as Chirpy cawed in glee. It would have smiled and laughed as well, but its beak was not meant for such things. Plus, its vocal cords weren’t made for laughing. Teela opened the window and the bird gracefully flew in and around the room. Teela longed to fly like that. Yet there wasn’t much chance of that…

Teela turned around, and took another step forward. Suddenly, the candles lit in a purple freaky glow. Teela shivered as it grew colder. Chirpy landed on her shoulder, creeped out.

Time: 8:04 AM

“Where would she be?” Vara asked Karma curiously.

”I don’t know. She’s… different. She speaks different, acts a little different, than most people her age. She’s twelve years old, and seems much more mature. Agreed, Venoma?” Karma turned to the Yosho as he shrugged.

“I guess… She has to be. In her situation, she has to learn to survive. And being serious like that takes the fun out of life. Perhaps when she was a little younger, with her parents that is, she was a lot more carefree. Although I have to admit that she has the eyes of a pure-hearted child. I guess that’s the way it has to be with her.”

”Yes Venoma. You have a very well-stated point. I believe she would have to be serious; one mistake could cost her life,” Kamek said, leaning on his broomstick. Vara fidgeted uncomfortably. They all were outside and the sun was shining brightly. The wind was not really breezy, but it was a little cooler outside. Another perfect day for those with perfect lives…

_

Time: 8:14 AM

The only candlelight then faded, and left the room darkened with the faint feeling that someone, or something, else was there.

“I- I I’M A YOSHI! I’ll eat you!” Teela said nervously as two ghosts materialized out of thin air.

“Eat us? Your tongue would probably go right through us, T,” a joking voice said as Teela recognized it.

“Dad. It’s only you. Mom too?”

”Yep. Of course. She’d like to see her daughter one last time as well.”

”ONE? You mean I can’t be a Shaman, and you guys be my spirit thing or whatever?”

”Ha- No.”

”Aw… Oh well. You must have some purpose for coming back to this world, eh?”

”Um… yes.”

”Honey, come on! MY OWN ANTICIPATION IS GROWING!” a female ghost said childishly as Teela ran up to the ghost and tried to give her a hug. Bad mistake…

“AHH!” Teela fell right through her, and landed on the ground.

“For being a ghost, you sure aren’t very good at it,” Teela’s father remarked to Teela.

“I’m not a ghost,” Teela said simply as she looked down and put her hands on one another with a clap. “See? No transparency.”

”Why do you appear invisible then?” Teela’s mother replied informatively.

“Um... I’m not.”

“Ugh… whatever. It’s still nice to see you. Let's just get straight to the point. Teela. You’re my daughter, and you know I’m very proud that you’ve been alive for this long without us. Yet we know you have trouble in fights. You have nothing to defend yourself with. None of your powers are for fighting. Hopefully you’ll learn some. Your mother discovered something… remember when that Magikoopa came?” Teela’s father rambled on quickly.

”Yes.  The evil Magikoopa. To steel something. I forgot what it was called, but you said you had to protect it with all your life, and yadi yadi yada.” Teela was remembering what her father had said to her mother the day after it all cleared up.

“Well, yes. Not Kamek. That other one. What we were protecting was… this.” Teela’s ghost father held out something that was wrapped in paper. Teela eagerly grabbed it, and tore off the paper.

“A piece of rock?” Teela questioned, not catching on. It was a blue rock with a sword-like thing that looked like it was within the rock.

“NO! A SWORD, TEELA!”

“A sword in the rock?”

”Yes, dear,” her mother said calmly.

“Why is it in the rock?”

”To keep it from being stolen, I had put a spell on it-“

”YOU? You can do magic?”

”Not like a sorcerer, just a simple spell. I didn’t train my powers, and they gradually left me. So I only had a little magic power left, and I used it to put the sword in a slate of stone.”

”Wow Dad. You had magic? Isn’t that rare in a Yoshi?”

”Of course! It has to awaken within one’s self. Then they can learn. That’s why Magikoopas only have kids with Magikoopas! Otherwise their kids have less chance of gaining their abilities. If a Koopa has two Magikoopas for parents, then they will automatically have their powers awakened. Otherwise it is very hard for other creatures to do. Me, my dad had powers. I thought he was a freak, and so I let them go to waste, and by the time I changed my mind, it was too late. So, there.”

”I see. So what you’re saying is you want me to learn magic, and break the seal on this rock?”

”No, no, no. Just say the words.”

”Words?”

”Yes. The secret words! You should know them.”

”Teel. Dear, you never told her,” Leeta, Teela’s mother, said.

“That sword was made by me. The metal, however, was from a cursed temple.”

”Oh great, I’m releasing a curse!”

”No. You are the only one who can remove it. I think. It’s called the Moonlight Blade of Shadows. You have those fangs, and so I guess you have the power to release it. I can’t because I’m a ghost. Even if I were living, I’ve no magic in my veins whatsoever. It’s all gone. You, Teela, have my blood going through you like the river running free. You are already some type of magician, with your little powers and all. I guess those fangs unlock the secret sections of your simple brain. So say those words, and hold out your hands above the rock.”

”Ok. What are the words?”

”Shadow of Sun.”

”Ok…”

Teela laid the rock on the dirty ground, and put her hands over it. She was glowing a green color, the sword as well.

“Shadow of Sun.”

The rock shattered to pieces as it revealed a ninja blade sword, a beauty at that.

“Wow. It’s… beautiful,” Leeta said, her mouth dropping in awe.

“Yes. I must admit that it took awhile to forge, but it was worth it.”

”Dad. This is so cool! You used to never let me near such things.”

”Yeah, you didn’t need to go near them.”

The sword was a shiny bright metal, the silver glistening brightly when the light was shone on it. The handle had two crescents moons where it met the blade, and the actual handle was a dark purple with a green diamond pattern, two red satin ribbons tied to it with perfection.

Time: 8:08 AM

“Teela,” Venoma whispered quietly to himself as he sat on a rock near the edge of the cliff. “I wonder where she went.”

“Venoma! Venoma? Oh! There you are! The others are worried about you. We thought you left or something,” Vara said in her sweet voice.

“No need to worry. I’m fine!” Venoma smiled as he saw the confused expression on her face.

“You miss her, don’t you?” Vara asked as she sat down beside him. “I may be new to this world and not know much, but when I see something, I know it’s there.”

”What are you talking about, Var?”

”You have a lot of affection for her.”

”W-W-What? No!”

”Don’t try to hide it. You’re in love, aren’t you?”

”N-No!” Venoma smiled a charming, yet truthful smile.

“Sure. That’s what they all say.”

”Vara. I hardly know her. She’s… nice, but I hardly know her. So how can I like her?”

”Because. I can just tell.”

“Whatever. Now what are the others doing?”

”Trying to find Teela.” Vara shrugged as she stood up to walk away. Venoma stared off into the sky thinking about the conversation they'd just had.

”I GOT IT!” he shouted as he pushed himself clumsily off the ground, starting to run back to the others. “SHE’S IN THE VILLAGE!”

 _

Time: 8:31 AM

“So. Mom. Is this what was rightfully mine? I sorta figured this was Dad’s.”

”Teela, you’re very smart. Yes, there is something more.”

”What is it, Mother?”

“Well… there are two things more. Both, rightfully yours,” her mother said mystically.

“Yes? What might they be?” Teela asked, so very curious.

“Well, open this box, and you’ll see,” her mother said pulling a box out of thin air. It was made of black felt with a little latch to keep it closed. Teela took it gingerly, and opened the top. Inside were two things, just as Teela’s mom had said. One of the items was a black little bag made of felt as well. Teela opened the little bag, and pulled out two golden dice.

“What are these for?”

”Those… are the Dice of Fate. You can make three wishes on them. But be warned, Teela, be careful for what you wish for. And don’t wish for me and your father.”

“Yes, Mom. But why don’t you want to be alive once more? Free to frolic in the flowers? To feel the gentle sunlight dance upon your face? To listen to the wind’s song?”

”Because. You get one chance to live, Teela. Your father and I are truly happy now.”

”The orange bracelet you were wearing when you died... you were happy, weren’t you?”

”Yes Teela. That is why it was orange. It was a mood bracelet, and it was swamp green because I was happy, but never truly happy.”

”I don’t get it,” Teela said stupidly.

“Someday you’ll understand. How is the bracelet anyway?”

”It’s with me… er… on a boat, in the middle of the sea. I’ll be right back, don’t go anywhere,” Teela then shut her eyes, and disappeared.

“Teela. Be careful,” her mother said sorrowfully as she started to fade. “Please come back to me someday, but not soon. Please… be happy when you do.”

”Yes. Have a good life… we’re always with you… please remember that…” her dad finished off as they faded into the darkness, the basement growing a different type of cold, the cold array of emptiness.

_

Time: 8:20 AM

“What makes you think she’s in her own hometown?” Kamek asked Venoma suspiciously.

“Not her village, her old house. I think she went there. I don’t know why I think this, it’s just within me. I feel it, and it calls out to me.”

”Protosyatha,” Kamek said simply, as everyone else just blinked.

“What?” Karma asked strangely.

“Protosyatha. It means, well, it’s like… Remember when Teela sacrificed her own magic blood?”

”Duh. How can we forget?”

“Well, it’s called a Protosyatha Bond. It just means the two can sense each other, and sometimes if it’s strong enough, one will see what the other is seeing. It is a very unique bond that only two with magic essence in their blood can have. It seems Venoma has one with Teela. Perhaps… if Teela is seeing something, you too, Venoma, will see it in your head. I also believe her powers might have been copied into you in that nasty spill you took in Kastle Koopa. Try and see.”

”How?”

”BLASTED! I DON’T KNOW! I’M NOT THE ONE WITH THE FANGS!” Kamek yelled, jumping up and down.

“Alright. I want to try teleportation. Were any of my powers transferred to her?”

”There is a good chance of that. A Protosyatha Bond is one that can link your spirits. Nobody can be sure... I would like to get a chance to study you and Teela… if you guys will let me.”

”I don’t know what Teela would say, but perhaps you could study me.”

“Alright. Just try and sense Teela. You know, try to find that one new place in your mind that you’ve never sensed before.”

”On the left side of my head, I’ve got a horrible headache.”

”That should be the spot then. Place your thoughts on Teela. All thoughts on Teela. Try it,” Kamek said, his voice getting very low with a mystical tune.

“Alright.” Venoma closed his eyes, which were glowing a light blue color.

“Must be working. He’s seeking her out on this planet,” Kamek said, observing what was going on.

“Please, fill me in on exactly what’s going on,” Ludwig added quietly to Karma.

“Not much. One of my friends almost got killed for just about sacrificing her life to her lover,” Karma said jokingly.

“Lover?” Ludwig asked as Karma completely turned to look at him.

“Just kidding,” she added, laughing out loud.

“Be quiet!” Kamek scolded.

“Alright,” Ludwig said before Karma had a chance to mouth off.

Venoma was deep in a trance, seeing a vision before him. It had the sound of rushing waves, and the sight of clouds beginning to form.

_

Setting: Ocean, Time: 8:34 AM

“Hmm…” Teela examined the front of her boat. It was on the shore of the island she had been falling towards earlier. It hadn’t been touched at all, and she was wondering whether or not the island was inhabited. Teela lifted up a hinged piece of wood, and there was the mini-bag she had bought for her adventure. After she left Kastle Koopa the first time, she had went on a journey just to wander around the world, although she really had no main destination in mind…

”Chirp.”

”No, nothing is ruined. All is as it should be,” Teela replied to the bird, which had been on her shoulder the entire time. Chirpy had finally recovered from its state of shock. Teela then grew very still, her eyes turning a navy blue type of glowing color.

I wonder what this is doing to Teela. Teela could hear Venoma's thoughts.

Well. First, you’re inside my head. Which isn’t good. What are you doing?

Trying to find you. We have something called a Protosyatha Bond. We can detect where the other is, and I’m supposed to be able to see through your eyes. So open your eyes.

They are open, Teela replied simply.

Than… let go of yourself. Lose yourself in the back of your mind or something, so I can takeover.

Fine...

Teela went into a meditative state as she felt her mind being compressed into somewhere in her brain. She felt someone else move in. Venoma was now seeing through Teela’s eyes.

Wow. What a beautiful view. Your mind is very complex.

Less chance of me being possessed.

I take it that you take that as a compliment.

Yeah, right.

Alright. Are you coming back to us now?

No, can’t you meet me in Illusion Forest?

I’m not sure. Go there, and let me takeover again.

Fine. You can’t read my mind or anything, can you?

Not unless you back off your memories.

That’s hard to do.

K. Bye.

See ya.

“Hmm… I wonder why in the world...”

”Chirp?”

”Um? Wha?”

”Chirp?”

”Oh, um, yeah! Er… Why did I blank out like that?”

”Chirp.”

”Yes, eh. Well, you see... ‘member when I saved Venoma?”

”CHIRP!”

”How could you forget? I don’t know. Perhaps you were zapped by a forget ray. Well, something happened, and now we can talk to each other in our minds! Cool, eh? I think Venoma called it a Protosyatha Bond. Although, if I specifically remember what I learned from my teacher… er… librarian, it’s a long story, so I won’t even bother telling you. I believe it was called a Protosyatha Connection. No bond is actually made, it’s just what the magic effect has. So if one wants to talk to you, they can. How it is made is, the one who received the magic within them becomes in tune with the other. Not really anything special, although there is a pretty good chance that I will now be able to get the same powers Venoma has, and vice versa.”

”Chirp.”

”Yeah. I guess I do explain myself quite well. I guess I could tell you how I know all this. You see, back when, and before, I even knew or got the fangs, I used to hang out in the library a lot. The librarian one day just started to tell me a whole bunch about all this magic and things. She even had books on all the subjects. Yet those were her books, not the library's, so they couldn't be checked out. We then just started talking and things day by day. I learned a lot about stuff which I probably would have never known. So that’s how I know all this. What was weird though, is that she once told me she saw something special in me. Although I’m quite normal… Well, as normal as a Yoshi with fangs can be. Sorry I was talking so much…”

”Chirp!”

”I guess it is quite interesting how my life is so odd. I mean, other people would just say it’s a coincidence, but I think it’s some sort of curse,” Teela explained as she started to giggle.“Chirp.”

”No, I’m not lucky. Perhaps this curse is a blessing in disguise,” Teela added oddly as she once again started to giggle.

“Chirp?”

”Yeah, now that I have my stuff, let's get going. Mom must be lonely. Dad too.”

”Chirp.”

” My parents are nice? You think? Yeah, I guess I agree. They’re good to me. Or… were.” Teela started to laugh abnormally.“Chirp.”

”Yeah, I do have an abnormal sense of humor. Sure, we can leave now. Hop on.” Teela grinned as Chirpy jumped on top of her head.

_

Time: 8:43

“You did get in contact with her!” Kamek said optimistically as Venoma nodded.

“Sure did. It was cool. Although this won’t have any effect with other things as well, will it?”

”No. It’s simple. You guys can just talk whenever you like. Understand?”

”Why is it called a ‘bond’?” Karma asked suspiciously. “I mean, they're not bonded. So, are you sure it’s called that?”

”I think you’re right. You just refreshed my memory. I believe it was called… I forget. I can go get the book if you’d like.”

“Sure,” Karma replied eagerly as Ludwig motioned her to come with him. Karma got up and followed as Venoma just turned and walked away. Vara just quietly sat down on the ground.

“Hey, V?” Vara asked as she fidgeted in discomfort.

“Yeah?” he asked as he turned to look at her.

“Is Teela alright?”

”Without a doubt, I know she’s fine. I’m going for a walk, alright?”

”Yeah. I’m gonna stay here. I’m interested in your new ability. I sure wish I had some special abilities.”

”I’m sure you do, Vara. You probably just gotta find ‘em. That’s all,” Venoma replied kindly as he walked off towards the forest.

Vara sat there trying to hear what Ludwig and Karma were talking about instead.

“Well, you know what? If my dad finds out, it’ll be dungeon for the next three years!” Ludwig was saying bitterly.

“So? I don’t even know why they’re here! This is the longest time Teela’s been with me. She must have a reason!” Karma objected.

“Alright. If they’re going to stay tonight, it’s in the nearby cave. Got it? I can’t risk any of my siblings finding out. It’s hard to believe no one has found out anyway!”

”Yeah. We’ve been lucky, extremely lucky. Although I can’t understand why the Yoshos are here in the first place,” Karma stated understandingly.

“We don’t know why we’re here either,” Vara jumped in nosily.

“WHAT? YOU’RE HERE FOR NO REASON?” Ludwig asked insanely.

“I guess so. I just follow my brother. That’s all. I've no thoughts as to what his intentions are. Perhaps..."

"Well... Perhaps if I were to talk to Teela. I do wonder why she has stayed for a long time. Then maybe she'll get the idea to ask Venoma." Karma was trying to calm all the frustration, and it seemed to be working.

"Please... do so," Ludwig replied as he walked off towards the castle.

"Where are you going?"

"The lab. As I said. I want no suspicions. It's normal for you to be out here. Not me..."

"Hm. You have a point."

"Of course I do."

"Grr... Whatever," Karma said as she turned to Vara.

"What?"

"You're a reincarnated sage, well, reincarnated by magic?"

"Yeah."

"Venoma has powers. Shouldn't you?"

"I don't know."

"You could learn how to use the light magic that only a priest or some kind of purehearted person can only learn."

"Hm... Yes. You have a good idea. I don't think so though."

"I don't know. You're technically new to some of this world, right?"

"I didn't know what the word 'food' meant..."

"Really?"

"Yes," Vara replied as she laughed.

Settings: Forest: Kastle Koopa Time: 8:46 A.M

Hey Teela? Vemoma searched in his head for that connection.

Yeah? Teela was just about to transport when she heard him.

Just a sec, k?

Yeah...

_

Back with Teela... Time: 9:00 A.M

"Chirpy, hang on. I'm doing the connection, alright? You can go flying off you want. I'll call for you when I'm done."

"Chirp."

"Alright. Don't go far," Teela explained as she closed her eyes again.

Hey! WHATCHA TRYIN TO DO? TAKE ME OVER? Teela's mind was entering Venoma's, and he felt it.

I wanna see too.

Fine... Venoma relaxed as Teela took control of his eyes.

You're in the forest?

Yes, I was taking a walk.

I see.

I had a question.

What?

How on Plit do you transport?

Well... I just close my eyes, and picture where I'd like to go.

Anywhere on Plit?

No. I have to have already been there...

Oh greeaatt...

Why the sarcasm?

I wanted to come to your house!

I-I, why?

I want to.

Ah... No.

Why?

I need you to protect Karma. Please, for me...

Huh? Why?

Alright. I guess I'll tell you why I'm really at Kastle Koopa.

Yes, please, do so.

Then, will you tell me why you're here?

I told you, I don't know. I'm just here.

Really?

Yes. Unless you'd like me to leave?

No! Please, I'd like you and Vara t-t- leave!

Wha? Why?

Fine. I'll show you why, why I'm here, and why you should- WAIT! WHAT IF IT IS BECAUSE YOU LEFT?

Teela?! What in blazes are you talking about?

I think you can exchange memories. Just a moment.

Teela then picked up her sword, which she was holding when she transported. She then held it as an amplifier of concentration to steady her thoughts.

"I see what I see... Please, bring that vision back to me..." Teela pleaded as she glowed a mystical purple color. She started to tremble as she then retained herself. She stopped as she fell into a deep trance as elsewhere, Venoma was suddenly transported into a dark place. He then saw what was of Teela's memories. A whole bunch of skits, and then it stopped until one single one was showing.

The fairy with Teela was a white color. The fairy brought down a screen, on which Venoma saw sort of an older version of himself. He had his angered look, except he could se a tinge of dark sorrow somewhere in there, something he normally could only recognize within himself. A dark shadow was what appeared to be their enemy. Teela and Venoma were back to back, guarding against the monster. The monster then knocked them down and knelt down towards Karma. The shadow creature squeezed her; Ludwig was fighting with a gun, a cape swirling behind him. He fell to his knees with each blow as Karma took a few more of the rib-breaking blows. She then stopped moving as she passed out from the pain. Ludwig then fell to the ground as well. The shadow creature had a gleam in its eyes as Teela got up and hovered, the pain filling her every movement. The shadow creature then threw Karma towards the volcano, Teela already above it. Teela caught her, the force pushing her back slightly as the volcano, then erupted like mad. Teela had some sort of protection but Venoma could see she was having a hard time with all the power building up. The energy within her caused an expression of struggle on her face. The older Venoma pushed himself quickly off the ground as he ran towards the volcano. The Teela in the vision then passed out from the heat as one could see the magic circle protection falling as it wore away. Karma then was not visible as Venoma miraculously caught Teela. There was no longer a sign of Karma...

Teela then snapped back into her position of life as she recalled being in Venoma's mind, with nothing to do but wander the blankness.

Teela... You risked your life for Karma... Even when you were about seventeen.

Venoma, I think that is coming soon!

Wha? No way!

Venoma, I changed time. Anything could happen. I wasn't supposed to come to Kastle Koopa. I might have caused an interruption!

Hah! You're funny. What if you were supposed to come to Kastle Koopa?

Venoma. Don't you think I would have used my teleport to get Karma safely back?

Yes. You have a point.

I know. I really didn't learn it until after it was too late. I was killed in the end.

How do you know all this?

Didn't you see the fairy? That was the fairy of knowledge.

Woah! SHE CHANGED HISTORY?!

No. Fate told her too...

Fate?

I don't know. Something that decides when you live and die I guess.

I thought we make the decisions.

What makes us make the decisions though?

Hehe... You're very clever.

No, I just have common sense.

Teela... *sigh*

Well... I have to get back to my parents..

WHA? I THOUGHT THEY WERE DEAD!!!

Their ghosts are here to speak to me. I'll talk to you later.

Ok...

Teela sighed as she then took a deep breath, and screeched like a bird as Chirpy came flying down and landed on her head.

"Let's go..."

"Chirp."

Teela closed her eyes and pictured herself back at her forest home. Chirpy just sat on her head like normal. Some of its red feathers glistened in the sunlight that seemed to be never-ending. One not from the planet, who had never seen such light, would probably never guess there was something called a moon to go with it.

Time: 8:52 AM

" Vara?" Karma asked as she stood up.

"Hm? What?"

"I'm going to get Ludwig. It's pretty boring out here."

"How come you live here? Readings indicate this is 'Kastle Koopa', not 'Kastle Yoshi'..."

"Readings indicate? Wow, now you sound like a robot."

"Sorry. You ask why I'm here. Why are you here?"

"Because of something called a Metbond."

"Yes. A Metbond is when two Koopas meet, and they're linked together by the brain."

"Vara, How on Plit do you know that if you didn't even know what the word 'food' meant?" Karma was shocked to see someone of such little knowledge know all this.

"Well, I'm not sure, to be honest. It is just knowledge I find laying around in my head."

"So. Do you know a lot of other stuff?"

"I'm not really understanding." Vara had a strange look of confusion on her face.

"If I ask you another question, will you be able to answer it?"

"Perhaps if the knowledge is known."

"Alright, I guess I need to ask a question about something I don't know. AHA! Is there a way to undo the Metbond?"

"Correct."

"How?!" Karma was standing up as she started to jump around.

"Answer not known."

"Wha? Then how do you know there is a way?"

"I just know. It's there, but the rest of the story is not with me."

"Oh... I was hoping there was a way to leave this castle.."

"There is."

"Then what is it?" Karma said through gritted teeth.

"I told you. I've no knowledge of this at all. It is left blank, although I'm sure that I used to know long ago..."

"Oh well. I guess I'll never get out of here..."

"Don't worry, Karma. Someday you'll be free."

"Sure. You don't have to cheer me up."

"I... alright."

"I'm going to go get Ludwig now."

"Alright," Vara said as she continued to sit in the grass. She lay back as she stared at the forever moving clouds.

"There's one from long ago. That little fish..." Vara said as she giggled.

Setting: Inside Kastle Koopa with Karma, Time: 8:58 AM

"Ludwig?"

"What?!" Ludwig hissed, sitting on the steps in the main hall. That was something he normally never did.

"What are you doing?"

"Thinking."

"What now?"

"Pie to the forth power."

"That'd be three, since pie is worth three, and you take that times four."

"I think you're wrong."

"Whatever. My brain is so large, all the knowledge crushes everything under it."

"Then, that's a cockroach brain." Ludwog said jokingly as Karma got mad. She stood up and tried to sock him in the face. Ludwig dodged it narrowly as he ran off the steps and out the door of Kastle Koopa. Karma grabbed an umbrella that was just laying there as she followed him.

"I'm gonna kill you!" she said as she caught up tp him easily. Vara was watching this as she giggled uncontrollably. Karma started to hit Ludwig on the head with the umbrella.

"OW!" Ludwig said as he stopped. Karma stopped as well as Ludwig suddenly grabbed the umbrella from her. "HA! I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU FELL FOR THAT!"

"That's okay. My fist in your face is going to hurt so much more." Karma said with a bad attitude.

"Um... What is a fist? And what is that thing?" Vara pointed to the umbrella.

"She's not very smart, is she?" Ludwig sort of commented as he asked a question as well.

"She only knows the knowledge she's learning, and the facts not already erased."

"Huh?"

"I've formed a theory. She's a reincarnated sage, so that would mean some of the knowledge would have been left with her, right?"

"I.. guess so. Yeah, that makes sense. Congratulations roach, you've just been promoted to an ant." Ludwig started to run as Karma didn't bother to follow.

"A fist is your hand when you curl it up for fighting."

"Do you use that to fight?"

"I just said that. Yes, it is for fighting."

"Can I try?"

"Uh... on who?"

"The blue-haired one known as Ludwig?"

"I guess so. Sure!" Karma was going to be glad to see this.

"Hey, Ludwig! Come here!" Vara was wondering how she was going to form a fist with claws. "Wait, just a second. Karma?"

"What?"

"I have claws. Is there another way?"

"Yes. Use your feet."

"I can break wood with those."

"... Sure. Now go kick him in the stomach."

"What's a stomach?" Vara had that very confused look on her face once again. Karma was getting very annoyed.

"It's the part... right here." Karma pointed to her stomach as Vara had another question on her face.

"Do I kick you?"

"NO! Him," she said grinning as Ludwig looked confused.

"Ludwig, I learned five times pie to the tenth!"

"Really?"

"Yeah!" Vara had that planned out all along...

Ludwig slowly walked over to her, keeping a closer watch on Karma. As soon as he got over there, Vara lifted her leg off the ground, and brought it back quickly. She then brought it forward, kicking Ludwig. He went flying into the air, and landed at least twenty feet away.

"Um... Was that not good enough?" Vara asked quickly as Karma had her mouth gaping at Ludwig, who had landed in a tree...

"Ye-Yes.. That was perfect.." Karma answered, still in shock.

"Never again..." Ludwig growled in pain.

"I'm sorry... Did I hurt you?" Vara asked as she walked to Ludwig. Vara held out her claw, and Ludwig was almost afraid to grab it. He grabbed it as Vara jerked him out of the tree.

"Who's the ant now?" Vara asked as she didn't realize why Karma and Ludwig were actually laughing. "Why are you laughing?"

"Just to be alive *giggle* I guess," Karma answered through giggles and laughs. Ludwig was still laughing so hard, he couldn't speak.

"This is a strange world," Vara commented as she sat down in the grass once again. "A strange world with weird people..."
