The zombies creaped through the graveyard, near Illusion Village.
The Illusion Village was located right outside the Forest of Illusions, with the magic’s boundaries outside past the village. The mysterious magic still flowed into the village, more and more when the winds picked up. The dead were awakening, and soon were going to head into the town. They had never made it into the town, and the residents knew this. The sun had always stopped them before they could reach the peaceful town. Little did they know that all this was about to change…

“I give up!!!” Teela complained, trying to get Chirpy to fly. They were in the middle of an ocean, and not sure which one. Chirpy was refusing to leave the boat. It was afraid to fly over the water…
“CHIRP!!!” it said gleefully, turning away from Teela. While it had its back turned away Teela snuck up behind it and grasped it in her hands.
“HEHE!!! Never turn your back in a battle. Now, I hope you have a nice flight!” Teela tossed Chirpy over the boat. It barely touched the water before it flew high in the air, panic spread across its beaked face. It had turned colors for the summer. It was a nice reddish color that made it stick out from the skies so high above. Teela smiled, feeling satisfied with herself. Yet she soon regretted it because now she was lonely, and she also was beginning to feel hungry…

Setting: Back at Kastle Koopa… Time: 5:03
“*SIGH* THIS IS SOOO STUPID!” Ludwig said, his teeth grinding harshly. Karma walked in, and smiled.
“What’s wrong, poofball?” She had an attitude. She bent down, and pointed something out. A loose wire had not been reattached. Ludwig looked at her in surprise.
“Wow! I? ME? LUDWIG VON KOOPA? Miss a puny little wire?” He still gave Karma a look of shock. The invention was a tracking computer. Without that wire attached, the signal from the trackers would not appear on screen. Now that it was fixed, a little red dot appeared on the screen, Ludwig smiling an evil grin.
“HAHA!!! IT WORKS!” he shouted, his voice sounding like nails on a chalkboard. This was just how it normally sounded when things went his way, and especially when his experiments were going the right way.
“So. Who’s the little red dot?” Karma pointed to it, and Ludwig stopped laughing. His face regained its serious expression, and he began to explain.
“That is Larry. Cheatsy, with all his little spying tricks. No longer will he keep his secret base a secret! IT’S PURE GENIUS!” Ludwig smiled, Karma giving him a strange look.
“You could have just bought one from the store.”
“I... um… Original was Einstein’s middle name!” Ludwig made a poor excuse that made Karma roll her eyes.
“No it wasn’t.”
“Whatever! AT LEAST IT WORKS!” Ludwig, still pleased, said in a mocking tone.
“Look in the corner.”
Ludwig turned to look behind him. Before him lay a huge pile of messed up and forgotten experiments. Ludwig frowned in frustration, trying with all his might to think up a comeback.
“Fine. You win. But at least we will now know where his little fort is.” Ludwig smiled again, Karma rolling her eyes once more before walking out of the room. Ludwig sat there, continuing to stare at the screen. He had come close to finding out before, very, very close. Larry had used his spy equipment to beat Ludwig though, so he still hadn’t known.

Setting: Outside Kastle Koopa Time: 5:10
Karma was sitting outside, two books in hand, one, a little black book with two yellow stripes, and the other titled "Animals that aren’t well known: VOLUME 2".
She had a pencil in hand as she opened the black book. She began to write the following:
Dear Diary,
I never thought life at Kastle Koopa could get... better. Yet now I look at things, and question, how could it get worse? Although I can only count the days, something just tells me… It’s coming soon. Yet I ask, what is coming soon? It’s coming to me in dreams. A very blurry vision, a light. Perhaps death? No. I sense something! It is so weird. Yet... I have a feeling that something HUGE is going to come out of it… This is all so confusing. At least I have something to do… Well. That’s all for now.

“I’M SO HUNGRY!!!” Teela yelled at the top of her voice, practically screaming. It was very loud, and resembled the noise of a bird when you try to stretch it. (IT’S LIKE A LOUD SSSQQUUUAAACCKK!!!)
“Chirp.” Chirpy had flown right beside her. It said that this was an uncharted ocean.
“UNCHARTED? WHADYA MEAN, ‘ UNCHARTED’?” Teela knew it was just being lazy.
“Chirp!!!” It then said it had seen the sign.
“OH! The uncharted sea, or, Mystery Sea is its nickname. Legend has it that there are some islands with many unknown creatures. I HOPE WE LAND ON ONE!” Teela jumped for glee, the boat rocking back and forth a bit.
“Chirp.”
“No. We’re not gonna drown.”
“Chirp!”
“Alright. I’ll settle down. You think you can find me some food before I start to picture you as a Chirpy roast?”
“Chirp?”
“East.” Teela had picked Chirpy up and let it soar into the ocean breeze, which smelled of beautiful morning air with a tinge of salt.

A Yosho is a distant extinct relative of the Yoshi. It resembles Earth’s alligators and crocodiles. The species died out almost one million years ago, only leaving a few fossils on the edge on Yoshi’s Island. Once, a long time ago, a volcano erupted at the same time a hurricane had formed. The entire island was in total chaos. Earthquakes began to rip the island in half, with all the Yoshis on one side and the Yoshos on the other. The Yosho side of the island sunk into the ocean, and the Yoshos were never seen again. Rumor has it that they were the first species on the planet, but had evolved into the Yoshis. So there were Yoshis and Yoshos, and sometimes-even hybrids. Everyone got along, Yoshi or Yosho. These were some very unique creatures…
Karma lay the book down, and let out a deep sigh. How she wanted life to be like this.
Everyone getting along? Sounds so alien to me, Karma thought as she headed back to Kastle Koopa. On her way, she passed Kamek, sitting by a tree. He appeared to be sleeping, but then he started to speak.
“Your friend. Night. Karma.” Karma swerved around to look at him. He was out like a light.
“So?” She decided to go along with it. Perhaps she could find out some useful information?
“The fire. Caused by my element ghosts. Larry unleashed them.” Kamek had a deep old voice that Karma thought was weird. She just stood there as she came up with an idea that would be funny.
“Do you wet the bed?”
“Yes. I even sleep with a stuffed Yoshi doll.” Karma started to laugh as she pictured Kamek with a Yoshi doll. She then headed into the Kastle, forgetting what Kamek had said. A moment later Kamek awoke sleepily. He thought what had just happened was a dream, and who on Plit was Karma’s friend? Perhaps his old crystal ball could tell?

“Grr…” Teela growled as she stared at Chirpy. She was now seeing roasted Chirpy.
“Chirp?”
”FOOD!!!” Teela lunged at Chirpy as it moved to the side. Teela fell into the water with a splash. Chirpy then flew on top of her head.
“Chirp!”
”No. I don’t want any help. Besides, what could a midget like you do?”
“Chirp.”
“Fine. Let’s get going. Fly to the nearest island you see, and fly back here. Then we can head there and grab food. And hopefully some fresh water.”
Teela watched Chirpy fly off into the distance, and she lay there falling fast asleep…

“Karma?” Kamek was searching for her. He had good news, and well... more good news…
“Downstairs...” Larry walked right past him. Ludwig was up in his lab, tracking every movement.
“Thanks.” Kamek headed downstairs into the grand hall. He saw Wendy reading a magazine called "How to Be the Very Best". Very best what? Kamek thought to himself as he walked up to her.
“Hey Kam.”
“DON’T CALL ME THAT!”
“Why?”
“Because I said so.”
“Alright. What do you want?”
“Where is Karma?”
“Up two floors.”
Kamek went up two floors to find Bowser. “Sir... have you seen Karma?”
“Yoshi scum? Yeah. In Ludwig’s laboratory…”
Kamek was tired by now. He then walked downstairs again, into Ludwig’s laboratory.
“Hey Kamek. I’m kinda busy right now.”
“Where’s Karma?”
“Outside.”
Kamek walked outside to find Karma reading once more. She had come back outside right after Kamek began his search for her.
“Hey wrinkle face.” Karma laughed as he scrunched up his face.
”I have good news...”

Setting: Dreamy Meadow-type place Time: 5:10
Teela awoke in some type of meadow. She began looking around with no clue as to what was happening. The ground was soft beneath her feet… Wait! Where were her shoes?! She then ignored the fact... this somehow didn’t feel real. She looked around once more, and discovered a brightly lit cave nearby. She couldn’t resist the curiosity of exploring it… then again it felt like something was calling her to it…
She headed into the cave to find a Yoshi with beautiful white wings. Teela looked a bit puzzled, but she then realized this must be a dream…
Why not go along with it? Teela thought to herself as she walked up the fairy-like Yoshi. The fairy Yoshi smiled gently as Teela just stared.
“Hello young one,” the fairy startled Teela, as she was lost in thought.
“Um… Hi?”
“You are Teela Marie Yoshi of the Golden Sun Tribe?” The fairy watched Teela’s eyes go wide.
“That’s where I’m from?”
“I know everything. I’m the fairy of knowledge! Yes, your parents grew up together. They were so cute! Yet sadly they died a few months ago, a year after you got those... treasures.” The fairy pointed to Teela’s fangs.
“HOW ON PLIT CAN YOU CALL THESE TREASURES?! MY FATHER NEVER EVEN REALLY ACCEPTED ME! MY MOTHER WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO LOOKED AT ME THE SAME! THE ENTIRE TOWN TRIED TO KILL ME! EVERYONE THOUGHT I WAS A BLOOD-SUCKING MONSTER! I’M NOW RUNNING AWAY SO I DON’T GO TO THE ORPHANAGE!” Teela was screaming and jumping like a maniac.
“I know.”
“Um… Yes, I should have known that. I’m sorry I yelled.” Teela looked down in disappointment at how she acted. This was not like her.
“It is alright. You are here to learn.”
“About what?”
“Well... You call them your ‘ talents’. They are quite an oddity which you experienced after you received your fangs. You saved King Koopa’s life with the help of Karma A. Koopa. You then received a pass to come back, and you haven’t been there in about five months. You expect Karma to blow that wooden flute, but you haven’t heard it. There is a very good reason for that, and I’m not to tell you. You will learn. Now. About those talents. You are going to need to know this to avoid future catastrophe. You weren’t supposed to learn this until after the disaster had happened. Unfortunately you will end up dead if you do not learn now. And yes, I do see the future. It echoes within the winds, and yes, I know you listen to the winds. Unfortunately, only with the Fairy’s Crest of Wind will you hear time itself.” Teela wasn’t catching on.
“Dead? How?”
“If you insist. I see no harm in telling you, because it’s no longer going to happen. Fate has changed your position by telling me to do this. Consider yourself lucky, because fate normally will not re-write itself.”
The fairy waved her arms in a triangle
motion, and the vision appeared in Teela’s head.
Flash Forward
“GO! GO!” A very odd-looking creature with a sword yelled. Teela saw herself with a sword as well, although she was older and looked at least seventeen. Five years from now?
The creature that yelled was something Teela had never seen before. It had blue fur that was darker than Teela’s. It had two fangs that looked exactly like Teela’s as well. The creature had fire in his eyes, the type you’d have when you want revenge. He had a very long and deadly tail with four black thorns, and his paws, they weren’t paws at all! They were these three long black claws that looked deadly. His feet were pretty big, and they too had three black claws. He also had two little green fin-like things on each one of his feet. On his shoulders were fin-like things as well, that looked like little wings. They were longer than the ones on his feet, and seemed to be guarding his neck. His stomach was reptile-like, and was a flaming orange color. His hair was a flaming orange color too.
She watched him run along with Teela, their blades guarding each other. A shadow hand then reached for Karma. It grasped tightly as Karma struggled, and Ludwig felt the blows as well. He held her tighter, breaking the ribs in her stomach. Ludwig fell to the ground unconscious. Older Teela watched it getting ready to throw Karma into a volcano. She got up and dove after her. She hovered slightly, the volcano erupting like mad. Teela had used some type of protection while hovering. Two powers at once? This wasn’t a very good energy combo. She couldn’t resist, the heat was too powerful. She fainted, dropping Karma. Karma fell into the heat raging boil of what seemed of pure evil.
Bowser showed up with Kamek, both watching Karma falling, Teela as well. That strange creature had dove in after her. Teela was saved, but Karma… had burnt to ash. Teela was just there, unconscious. Her fur was somewhat burnt. Some of it was pure black. Yet she didn’t look helpless.
Ludwig was screaming in pain, he was glowing a golden brown color. He then fell to the ground… lifeless. The creature looked at Teela quickly. The fire in his eyes now grew intensely. He leaped with his sword at the shadow creature…
End Flash Forward
Teela was very confused. She didn’t understand why this would happen.
“Anyway... What is this new power?” They were silent for a few moments until the fairy finally spoke.
“Embrace yourself.”
“FOR WHAT?!” Teela shouted, as the fairy had a magic energy in her hand. She fired it at Teela.

Time: 5:24
“What’s the news?”
“A... friend... of yours... is coming tonight.”
“Friend? Who?” Karma only had one friend… the only one who accepted her for who she was. Her only true friend...
“I don’t know! It was a dream vision! Do you want me to check the crystal ball?”
“No… I like surprises.”
“Alright. Good day then.”
“Whatever.”
“Karma. If you will, please give me my book back.”
“That one book? With the fanged one? I lost it about three months ago.”
“Err… It is alright. I will track it. Now, what I wanted to know is why you wanted to use such a reference?” Kamek had a gleam in his eye, which made Karma squirm a little.
“I…” Was it right for her to tell him about Teela? After all, didn’t he hear about the fanged Yoshi who had rescued Bowser? Amazing. It had only been five months, and everyone had stopped talking about the insane rescue. Yet Karma had lived it, and so how could she forget? On top of that, Teela was her friend. She couldn’t forget the equally insane night she saved Teela from the guards. Being thrown over a cliff and still being alive is an experience you never forget. But then again, why did Teela come to this castle? What was fate’s plan?
Karma was snapped out of her thoughts by Kamek’s deranged voice.
“Well? Who is it? I NEED TO KNOW!”
“WHY?” Karma shouted. She got up and ran off into the castle.

Time: 5:20
“CCHHHIIRRRMMTTTT” was the noise the magic blast made, as Teela was held down in place by some type of magic force.
“You are weak if you cannot break my hold on your feet,” the fairy said in a strange voice that seemed to be turning demonic.
“WHY? I HAVE NOT DONE ANYTHING!!!” Teela yelled, her muscles yanking in her feet and arms. She struggled, the force getting stronger. She heard a cracking noise as the forces on her feet weakened, and broke. She dodged out of the magic’s way, and then it turned around. It shot her in her back, the magic completely engulfing her.
”You actually managed to break the shield. Perhaps you are worthy.”
“This… HURRTSS!!! WHY?!” Teela said
her last word before the pain gradually got worse. She felt her muscles
tighten, but then grow weaker once more. Her eyes let out two blue beams,
as she hovered right off the ground. Her eyes began to glow intensely,
and then she saw visions in her head. Although the visions happened after
pain had knocked her unconscious, she was still seeing them! The magic
got worse. Teela felt like she couldn’t breathe. One last vision. She was
surrounded by the everlasting darkness, and she closed her eyes. She was
then transported to the light.
Teela awoke, the pain jarring her entire
body. Chirpy had landed beside her, and it began to jump nervously. It’s
chirping meant nothing to Teela as her eyes opened widely, but the pain
held her down. Chirpy began to jump around on Teela’s head. She still couldn’t
understand anything. Her head was filled with things that she’d never seen
or done. What was this that Teela thought? She then lay there and tried
to speak to Chirpy. Yet the words were not with her. Then she realized,
she wasn’t breathing! She then gasped for air. Nothing! Teela then concentrated
on herself. Where she was...
Her eyes opened, a second time? No. This was real. Yet what was that before? She had closed her eyes, and pictured here. She then remembered the only thing that was left in her mind after she had awoken in the other place, the place with no air that shook her mind so horribly. Death was that place! She then recalled transporting out of the darkness. She had done almost the exact same thing, except it brought her back, back into this world in which she could breathe. She decided that this was no mere dream, and that it had somehow happened. Or did it? It felt real though. Teela still had the pain in her head. It was also in her heart, but that was only because the memory of her parents telling her not to be scared of darkness was in her head. Teela then shook the memory out of her head. She decided to give this new… power… a try...
