It was night time. The only Koopa up was Lemmy. He just couldn’t get to sleep knowing in his mind how many times they had tried and failed to beat Mario. He tossed and turned. 'Well,' he thought to himself, 'at least they never plan an attack on us!'
The next morning when Lemmy woke up he got an idea. He usually woke up before the other Koopas. He dashed to his room, grabbed some Koopa stationary, and started writing on them. He taped a note on each of the Koopas' doors. They read:
Dear Fellow Koopalings,
Please meet me on Sunday at 10:00 sharp. Any Koopa who comes any later than that will not be in the meeting.
Lemmy Koopa
Sunday at 10:00...
Lemmy was standing at the front of the bedroom. He looked at a list. “Role call!" he said. “Morton, you’re here; Wendy, yes; Larry, uh huh; Roy, yes; Ludwig, yup; and Iggy, yes. Okay, then let’s start the meeting. As you all were probably thinking, I called you here for a plan to beat Mario." He continued. “Okay, here’s the plan. “Ludwig, remember that invisibility device you created and I stole? Well, I still have it."
Ludwig scowled at him.
“Of course you know that Mario only knows us by our real names," Lemmy said. “Well, here’s what we do: we use the device on each of us, call each other by our nicknames, and Mario will be so confused that he might run into Roy, the strongest Koopa! Does everyone want to participate?" he asked.
All of them nodded. But of course each Koopa wanted to get the credit for it, not their goofy brother.
“Okay then, I’ll inform Bowser of our plan and we’ll meet on Saturday.”
The next Saturday...
Ludwig looked at the clock in his bedroom. It was 5:00. 'Good,' he thought, 'I’ll be wide awake before Lemmy.' He got up and stretched. He creeped into Lemmy’s bedroom holding a rope. He looked in the room.
Lemmy blinked and rubbed his eyes. “Who’s there?" he asked.
"Nobody except your brother Ludwig,” he snickered. Ludwig hog-tied Lemmy and gagged him.
"Mrph hrpmr hprm hrmp prh mrp!” Lemmy said. Roughly translated, he said, “You’ll never get away with this!”
Ludwig laughed and left the room. He thought to himself, 'Now I can get some sleep, ha ha ha...'
8:00...
Everyone was up. “Where’s Lemmy?" Iggy asked.
“He got sick,” Ludwig said. “Unfortunately, he won’t be able to make it today." He almost laughed out loud, but thought twice.
"Well, we had better get going,” Wendy said.
They each took their own doomship to the Princess’s Castle. They met in a bush next to the castle.
“Okay, let’s try this device out,” Larry said.
“Fortunately, when I created this device,” Ludwig said, “I created a setting to make Morton quiet. So I’ll set it to Invisibility and the Morton quiet settings.”
ZAP! They all were invisible.
“Remember to use your nicknames," Iggy said.
They arrived at the castle and went in. Roy led and punched all the guards out. Meanwhile, Ludwig thought, 'Phew, I’m glad I told Bowser Lemmy was sick or else the plan wouldn’t work!' They came to Princess’s room.
"Hello, Peach,” Roy said.
“Huh?" Peach spun around. “Hmm, I could’ve sworn I heard Roy."
”You did!" they said in unison.
Iggy took her and ran. They tied her up. Just then Mario charged into the room. “ What-a happened? I was sure I heard-a the Koopalings."
Mario noticed Peach tied up in the corner of the room. He ran towards her, ran into Roy, and got knocked out. Iggy tied him up too, and they left the castle.
When they came back to their castle, Ludwig suddenly took a rope and tied everyone else up. “Ha ha ha. You really believed Lemmy was sick, didnt you? Well, it was my ingenious that got you into this. Ha ha ha."
Ludwig then went to Bowser, gave him Mario and Peach, and got an award for his “good deed”.

Bowser was pinning a medal on Ludwig. Ludwig held his nose up in the air. 'Wait till I brag to my siblings,' Ludwig thought. He went to untie his siblings. He bragged all day and all night long.
”That’s it!" Roy said. He planned to booby trap Ludwig’s room. Roy sneaked into Ludwig’s room. He put a snake in his dresser, a tarantula in his bed, and itching powder in his shell. Unfortunately, what Roy didn’t know is that Ludwig was majorly allergic to itching powder.
The next day...
Ludwig got up and put on his shell. His face turned sickly green and he collapsed on the floor. (He had made friends with the tarantula and the snake.) Roy ran into the room and started cracking up. Then he noticed Ludwig. “Oh my gosh, what have I done?" He started shaking at the sight of Ludwig. He called Wendy. “W-ww-w-wendy, l-l-l-look at-t-t L-l-l-ludwig!” he said.
Wendy started shaking too. “I-I-I’m sure he’ll b-b-be fine. He just p-p-p-robably got some sort of a r-r-reaction." She went to her room and got a medicine bag. “He’s allergic to itching powder,” Wendy said. Roy blushed. “What’s wrong?" Wendy asked.
“Uh, nothing,” Roy said.
Meanwhile, Bowser had Mario and Peach as his slaves. Mario had tried to escape several times but Bowser caught him. “Mario, check the Koopalings to make sure they’re alright,” Bowser growled.
“Yes-a sir” Mario said tiredly.
“Peach, keep working!” Bowser roared.
“Yes sir,” Peach reluctantly replied.
Mario went to check on Ludwig. He was scared that Ludwig would attack him. He peeked his head inside. Roy saw him. “Get out of here, Mario,” he growled.
“Bowser sent me-a here to check on you,” Mario said.
“Yeah sure, good excuse,” Roy said sarcastically. Roy started attacking him.
In the throne room Bowser was watching everything Mario did on camera. “Good,” Bowser muttered. “Let’s see Roy kill Mario!" He watched Mario helplessly try to defend himself while Roy was killing him. Mario limped out of Ludwig’s bedroom. He staggered through the hall. He crawled into the throne room. “Mario, you didn’t do everything I asked you to. Go to the dungeon,” Bowser said.
“Ugh,” Mario groaned. He slithered all the way into the dungeon.
In Ludwig’s room, Wendy was still trying to revive Ludwig. She desperately tried everything she could. “I don’t know what’s wrong,” she said. “He will just not wake up!" She dumped a pitcher of water on him. “Man, not even the water will work!" she exclaimed.
Mario was sitting in the dungeon. He was so skinny at this time he could easily fit through the bars in the cell. He limped for his life. The gatekeeper saw him and easily caught up to him. By that time though, Yoshi and Toad knew Mario and Princess were gone. Yoshi jumped into the dungeon and ate the gatekeeper. Yoshi started screaming; the gatekeeper didn’t agree with him. Bowser ran down and started pounding on Mario. Toad yelled and four Mushrooms carried Mario away.
Mario was rushed to the Mushroom Hospital. They tried to save him but it was too late. Mario was dead. Not that it really matters, but he’s dead.
Wendy was giving up hope on Ludwig. She started slapping him. He blinked. “Wendy,” he whispered, “I just want to say...” he said even softer, “APRIL FOOLS!!!" he screamed at the top of his lungs. Wendy jumped and ran out of the room screaming.
They were having Mario’s funeral. Peach kneeled down and prayed. Then Mario sat up and screamed “APRIL FOOLS!!!" Everyone ran screaming out of the room. Then Mario took off his hat. In fact, his whole face came off. It was really Ludwig in disguise! “Whew, that mask itches!” he said. “You know, it’s not easy fighting Bowser!"
