Another peaceful day in the Mushroom Kingdom. How nice. Yet, in the Palace of Shadow, behind that famed Thousand-Year Door, evil was brewing, for the Shadow Queen was almost ready to rise, once again needing a body to possess. Meanwhile, Bowser was setting his almost-ultimate plan into motion. All this, and Mario and Luigi were on a trip to the former X-Naut base, on the moon. Looks like the Mushroom Kingdom stands no chance.
But, a mystic named Merlon foresaw this in a dream, and consulted another mystic named Murluvlee. Together they decided one thing: only one, nay, four beings could stop it: the descendants of the Four Heroes. The Four Heroes were, according to legend, the ones who originally stopped the Shadow Queen, one thousand years before Mario did. They had descendants, all of whom carried the bloodline of heroes. Now, there is but one who knows who they are. He is now deceased, but wrote down who the descendants were: Bow, of Forever Forest; Koops, of Petalburg; Goombella, of Rogueport; and “Prince” Mush, of Glitzville. Merlon notified Peach of his newly obtained facts, and Peach sent out letters to each of the descendants, notifying each what they had to do and why. In Rogueport…
Goombella and Frankly opened the chest Frankly had found. Out came a Dried Shroom.
“A Dried Shroom?! Are you kidding me?” Goombella nearly exploded.
“Bummer,” Frankly agreed.
Parakarry came by and delivered the mail to Goombella, who read it. Her eyes widened.
“Holy… She’s revived?” Goombella thought aloud.
“What?”
He read it, with the same expression forming.
“What in the… Goombella, you’d better go.” Frankly ordered.
“Sure thing!”
In Petalburg…
“Wow, this place is better than I remember!” Koops exclaimed.
“Actually, son, it’s the same. You know what I felt like when I came back, now, eh?” Koopley “explained”.
Parakarry came by, giving Koops the same letter Goombella had received. He read it.
“What the? Oh… oh great, I just get back and I have to go on another adventure. Just great,” Koops thought aloud.
“Huh?” his dad asked.
“Well… behind that Thousand-Year Door we went on the whole adventure for was an evil demon bent on destroying and conquering the world, but who needed a body to possess. *breath* She went into Peach and Mario beat her, so she was pretty much dead. But she’s revived and looking for a body to possess, and only me and three others can stop her,” Koops explained.
“Uh… okay.”
“Bye, Dad!”
In Forever Forest…
Bow was sitting… er, floating in her library, reading a book.
“Okay, I’m officially bored. No poor sap’s come in ages…”
“Excuse me, Miss, but the mail’s here.” Bootler floated in.
“Give it to me.”
He did.
“Let’s see… well, THAT can’t be good,” Bow stated.
“What?” her butler protector asked.
“Looks like an ancient demon bent on
conquering the world’s revived. Me and three others have
to stop it.”
“Huh?”
“I’m on another adventure.”
“Ah.”
In Glitzville…
Mush had just become Champion of the
Glitz Pit, making himself the sixth (if you count the fact
that Rawk Hawk and Mario won twice,
and Mush already once) Champion.
“Mush, how are you feeling, now that you are Champion again?” Jolene asked.
“Great, Sis! Just great!”
He walked outside, waded through the
crowd of fans, and headed to the Juice Bar. Parakarry
saw him and gave Mush the letter, which
he read.
“… Wow. Gonna have to tell Jolene I’m going for a bit.”
He did so, and took a ride on the blimp.
All four heroes met at Peach’s Castle, exchanged hellos, and
saw Bowser fly away with Peach.
“Isn’t this just dandy,” Koops said sarcastically.
“Shut up, Koops,” Goombella said.
At the precariously placed Koopa Kastle
(please, don’t ask about alliteration), Bowser had
Peach tossed into her usual cell in
the dungeons.
“What is it THIS time, Bowser?” she said.
“Oh, the usual, world conquest. Just a different… style.”
Peach definitely didn’t like the way he said "style". It was, well, suspicious. Very suspicious.
“So, let me guess. The usual bait ‘n beat?”
Bait ‘n beat referred to the usual plan: bait the Marios and attempt to beat them. Obvious ways. The beating was always reversed though, if you get what I’m saying.
“No, much more fun. I obviously can’t do the usual, as those cursed Mario Bros. are on the moon. This is much better. I might as well explain it to you in excruciating detail because no one can save you,” Bowser explained.
He pulled out a chalkboard and chalk, and wrote things down as if he were a school teacher.
“Ahem. So, first I kidnap you. Then, I hypnotize you using a rubber ducky and a special hypnotization machine to make you love me.”
“What’s with the ducky?”
“That’s personal. Anyway, I then get you to let me takeover the Mushroom Kingdom. You won’t mind because you’ll be in love with me. With no good opposition, I’ll easily take over. And when those puny Brothers come, there’ll be nobody on their side! MHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!”
“You ARE crazy! That’ll never work!” Peach explained.
“And tell me why not?”
“Because, the bimolecular particles used in the machine have a 99.9 percent chance of malfunctioning, thus rendering the machine useless except as an exploding object of matter,” Peach smartly explained.
“Uh… Do you come with subtitles?” he asked.
“It’ll probably explode.”
“Oh. Darn. Well, I could still give it a shot. Let’s see… and… action!”
A large, circular machine lowered from the ceiling. It had a large, transparent, circular screen in the middle, which suddenly flickered on. Bowser set it to “love”. The machine’s screen showed a white background with a black swirling line, like you see in cartoons. Peach’s face, first having an expression of shock (she was just strapped onto a platform with uncomfortable metal bands), now had a dreamy look on it. Her eyes now had a translucent reflection of the screen on them. The machine was then turned off, Peach now unconscious.
“YES! It worked!”
An hour later, Peach woke up and looked around. She was in Bowser’s throne room, which pretty much consisted of a long hall with steps and a cushy chair at the end. Bowser was sitting in the chair. Peach looked at him, and she then swooned with love. She fell unconscious again.
Bowser sighed.
Meanwhile, with the important characters…
“This can’t be good,” Bow concluded.
“Let’s head for his castle,” Mush decided.
They did so, not knowing that someone- er, more than one- was watching them.
“Here’s the plan: we kill the descendants, kidnap Peach, and completely revive Shadow Queen!”
“What do I do?” Doopliss asked.
“Uh, you just kinda hang around.”
“Right…”
Back to the heroes. They reached Bowser’s Castle, and snuck in through a window. Why? Doors are obvious. Anyway, Bow made the heroes invisible, and they carried on. They climbed in through a grating, like all those goody-two-shoe heroes, and saw Bowser and Peach kissing.
“That is just wrong!” Goombella exclaimed.
“Do they do that behind the scenes?” Koops asks.
“Let’s see…” Goombella said.
She took out a book. She read it.
“Hmmm… lessee… Aha! This says that Bowser keeps his plans in a secret computer database.”
She pulled out a laptop.
“Let’s see what we can get… WHAT? A firewall? Uh… Anybody know how to crack these?” Goombella asked.
“Uh, let me try,” Mush tried.
He went to the laptop. Ten seconds later, the guys had all they needed to know about Bowser’s plan.
“God, that’s not right!” Koops exclaimed.
“Rather disturbing,” Bow said, dignified.
“Totally wrong,” Goombella said.
“Okay…”
The heroes kept looking, and also found out that Bowser had the Crystal Stars.
“Now, how’d he get those?” Mush asked.
“Koopalings.”
It was true. Bowser, a month ago, had sent his kids to find the Crystal Stars, for thrills. They all got one, and put them in the trophy room. Conveniently, it was right next to them. Bow invisibly took the Stars and distributed them to each person. The heroes then slid out of the grating and barged into the throne room. Bowser and Peach were still kissing.
“Um, we’re kind of busy here!” Bowser exclaimed.
“Yeah: right now, you’re busy with us, kicking your behind,” Koops said confidently.
“I wouldn’t be so sure.”
“Hm?” Bow said.
She disappeared, then reappeared behind Bowser. She then fan smacked him.
“You’ll pay for that.”
“Put it on my bill!”
He rushed up and delivered a fierce combo, which I don’t have the time to explain.
“Argh!” Bowser screamed.
He then breathed fire at Mush, who used Goombella as a shield.
“Pain.”
She fainted.
“Koops, you’re up!" Mush yelled.
Koops Shell Shot Bowser, tripping him. Goombella woke up and Multibonked Bowser ten times. He fainted.
“My love!” Peach shrieked. She fainted too.
“Uh, okay…”
Mush saw the hypnotization machine. He got an idea.
“Goombella, hand me that laptop!” Mush ordered.
She did so. Mush hooked it up to the machine, and tapped in several codes. The machine then turned on. Peach woke up as well, and stared at the screen. A white background with a black swirling line appeared on the screen. Peach’s eyes had a translucent image of the screen on them, and then she fainted again. An hour later, she woke up. She was in the bedroom of her castle. The heroes were watching her.
“Ugh… What happened?”
“Bowser hypnotized you. You’re back to normal now, thanks to Mush’s hacking skills,” Goombella explained.
“Uh, okay.”
Realization swept over her. She remembered what the whole point of the heroes thing was.
“Wait! What about Shadow Queen?” Peach demandingly asked.
“Uh… We haven’t gotten to that yet. We set our first priorities on rescuing you,” Mush explained.
“You’d better beat Shadow Queen.”
“Ok.”
They set out. On the moon…
Mario and Luigi were talking to TEC.
“So, you love Peach too?” Mario asked.
“Yup,” the advanced computer replied.
“Anybody in here besides me like Daisy?”
Crickets chirped.
“Who’s she?” TEC asked.
In Peach’s Castle…
“Better get to everyday stuff… like making decisions…” Peach said to herself.
Toad walked in. He stood differently than normal, but Peach didn't notice this.
“Uh, Peach, there’s an important decision you have to make about Bowser right now…” he informed.
“What? I can’t make decisions! I’m a princess!”
Toad suddenly turned into Doopliss.
“Not so fast, Slick!”
“What?” Peach rhetorically asked.
Beldam grabbed Peach’s legs and pulled her into the shadows. They appeared in Shadow Queen’s lair.
With the heroes…
The guys were almost to the Thousand-Year Door when the ground rumbled. The ground suddenly turned dark, as did the sky.
“Oh no…” Koops placed his head in his hands, as if ashamed.
“I can’t let this happen!” Goombella overreacted.
She rushed inside the Door as if there was no tomorrow. Which there might not have been.
“Uh, what’s happening?” Bow asked.
“Only one thing: Shadow Queen has found a body to possess. I hope my fears aren’t true…” explained Koops.
He ran in as well.
“Uh, I’d better go too!” Mush decided.
He did.
“*sigh* I guess I’m last!”
She floated in. The team saw a hole in the floor.
“I guess this is where Bowser fell through. Come on!”
The heroes jumped in the hole and landed in the room where you fight Grodus. They saw something you don’t want to see any day: Shadow Queen possessing Peach.
“This is just dandy,” Bow sarcastically said.
“Ah, back in this princess. Brings back memories.”
“Uh…” Mush was confused.
“Who are these four?”
Beldam came into the room. “Um, m'lady, these are the Heroes’ descendants,” she revealed.
“Are they, then? Let’s see their power.”

Flashback
Mario and his pals are fighting Shadow Queen in her lair.
“You call that an attack? Foolish child,” Shadow Queen mocks.
Mario thinks, ‘How could I beat her if I can’t touch her…? Hold the phone, I got it! The Four Heroes used the Crystal Stars against Shadow Queen, why can’t I?’
The Crystal Stars rise into the air. They leave the room and fly to all the towns they’d visited when Mario got the Stars. Suddenly, voices fill the room. These voices are cheering, encouraging Mario. A light surrounds Shadow Queen. She groans, and it seems as if a shell breaks off. Peach gets through to Mario and heals him and his partners. Then the real fight begins. Mario actually harms Shadow Queen.
“What?! How can you hurt me?”
“Ah, much better! Prepare for payback!” Bobbery declares.
End Flashback
“Guys, I have a plan,” Goombella informed. “Remember how Mario used the Crystal Stars to help beat Shadow Queen? Why can’t we do that?”
“Works well enough,” Koops agreeably stated.
“I agree!” Mush agreed.
“I guess I’m in,” Bow agreed as well.
“Okay, let’s do it!”

Suddenly, the Crystal Stars rose up. They exited the room.
In Glitzville…
The Gold and Garnet Stars landed. People gathered to see the phenomenon, including Jolene.
“I hope Mush is okay… I don’t want anything ELSE bad happening to him…” Jolene worried.
By “anything else” she meant when Grubba imprisoned Mush in the Gold Star for a year.
“Hey, Prince Mush, I’m not allowing ANY Champion to lose! That means you! When life rocks you, RAWK BACK! RAAAAAWK!” Just guess.
“Uh, okay… P-man, stay in there, dog! You can do this!” King K. cheered.
Everybody starts cheering for Mush and the heroes. In Rogueport…
The Ruby Star landed. Frankly and several others came.
“Hey, the Crystal Star’s sayin somethin… Hey, da guys are fightin' for da sake of da world!” Frankie said in his mobster accent.
“Dear God, I hope Goombella can win, for Plit’s sake…” Frankly muttered.
Everyone cheered for the heroes. In Petalburg…
The Diamond Star landed. As the rest did, people gathered around the Star.
“I hope Koops is okay…” Koopie Koo worried.
“Don’t worry, he most likely is,” his father reassured.
“I hope so as well… I guess we can just give a rousing cheer, eh?” the mayor said.
Everyone there cheered as well. At Boo’s Mansion…
The Emerald and Sapphire Stars landed. Boos gathered around.
“Bow'd better be okay. For the line’s sake,” Bootler hoped.
“I bet she is. Come on, Bow, we’re rooting for you!” a Boo said.
Everybody there cheered as well. On the moon…
The Crystal Star landed in the room the Marios and TEC were in.
“What’s the Crystal Star doing here?” Luigi asked.
“Shadow Queen must have been revived,” TEC concluded.
“Crud. Hey, guys, I just remembered, when everyone cheered for me, Shadow Queen became vulnerable! Let’s cheer, so she’ll become vulnerable now!”
That being said, the three cheered. Back in the throne room, the voices of the cheering people filled the room. A light surrounded Shadow Queen.
“Ohhh…”
A flash.
“Ahhhhhhh…”
Another flash.
“Ohhhhhhhhhhh…”
Not a flash, but Shadow Queen furiously shook, like it was –100 degrees Fahrenheit. Something like a protective shell broke off, and she groaned again. She finally fell to the floor, unconscious.
Peach suddenly woke up, in an unfamiliar place. It looked like a circular wrestling ring, except the ground was a hard, purple substance. Shadow Queen, in the form of Possessed Peach, was there as well.
“Where am I?” she asked, to no one in particular.
“From my guess, we’re inside your body, fighting for control. Winner gets complete control, loser gets destroyed…permanently,” her soon-to-be adversary answered.
“Oh. Well, I guess we fight!”
Battle Royale Fight Scene!
Shadow Queen HP: 100
Peach HP: 100
Shadow Queen started out with her handy
dandy lightning.
Peach HP: 93
Peach then took out the frying pan,
which she used in Super Mario RPG. She whacked Shadow Queen with it.
Shadow Queen HP: 95
Shadow Queen again went for Peach with
the lightning, which Peach dodged and, in retaliation, whacked Shadow Queen,
who countered with a smack from those hands (duh).
Peach HP: 88
Shadow Queen HP: 90
Shadow Queen, trying a different approach,
directed a poison cloud at Peach. Not knowing the danger, she got poisoned.
Peach HP: 87
Peach cast Therapy on herself, healing
herself and getting rid of the poison.
Peach HP: 92
She then used the frying pan, getting
in a 3-hit combo before Shadow Queen retaliated by using the lightning.
Shadow Queen HP: 75
Peach HP: 85
Shadow Queen gathered darkness around
her, as if building it up. Peach took this as a warning and ran, but Shadow
Queen expelled the darkness like an explosion, hitting Peach.
Peach HP: 76
“Why you… well, I’ll say that was clever,” Peach admitted.
“Try me.”
With that, they continued. Peach pulled
a vegetable out of the ground and tossed it aside. Then she pulled out
a Bob-omb. Satisfied, she chucked it at Shadow Queen, who had no idea what
was going on. She got whammed so hard it propelled her backwards a foot
on the hit, never mind the explosion.
Shadow Queen HP: 60
Shadow Queen got up, charred a little.
She panted a little, then used her lightning. Peach was caught unawares.
Peach HP: 69
Shadow Queen started bringing in the darkness again, and Peach noticed. “Not so fast,” she threatened. “Mute!”
Shadow Queen found herself unable to
do any magic, so she decided to do this differently: hand-to-hand. Peach
accepted, and they went of into the boxing match of the season. At the
end of it, both were forming bruises on their bruises.
Shadow Queen HP: 30
Peach HP: 25
The effects of the Mute wore off, and
Shadow Queen took advantage by summoning the Dead Hands, which brought
Peach “underground”, beat Peach, and brought her back.
Peach HP: 17
Peach used Therapy, and then snuck in
a 2-hit combo with the frying pan until she had to dodge Shadow Queen’s
lightning.
Peach HP: 22
Shadow Queen HP: 20
Shadow Queen did the lightning again,
but Peach pulled out a turnip and chucked it up, at the same speed. The
lightning hit the turnip and dissipated. The vegetable, now electrically
charged, hit Shadow Queen, who was very shocked (pun intended).
Shadow Queen HP: 15
Shadow Queen now gathered the darkness
around her again, when Peach wasn’t looking. When Peach did notice, it
was a foot from her face. She was hit hard.
Peach HP: 8
Peach, thoroughly annoyed, hit Shadow
Queen with the frying pan repeatedly, using all the adrenaline she had
in her. She only stopped when Shadow Queen used the lightning, which Peach
again dodged. Peach had got in three hits.
Shadow Queen HP: 1
“… You’re good,” Shadow Queen said.
“Hey, you are fighting me!” Peach replied.
“Are you saying you’re cocky?”
“Uh… I’m not quite sure.”
“Heh, thought so.”
During that pointless conversation,
Shadow Queen was mustering up what little power she had left to absorb
Peach's HP.
Peach HP: 1
Shadow Queen HP: 8
“Now who’s winning?”
“Shut up. This isn’t over yet!”
“Hm? I believe it is!”
“Okay, you believe your own little beliefs.”
During this again pointless conversation, Peach was adopting Shadow Queen’s strategy: charge up while pointlessly conversing. A small bomb was materializing behind her back. When it was ready, she said two words.
“Psyche Bomb!”
“What?”
Peach tossed a bomb high in the air.
Then, bombs rained on Shadow Queen.
Shadow Queen HP: KO
Shadow Queen said one last thing before being completely erased.
“Curse you! Curse you all!”
Shadow Queen then slowly disappeared, as Peach slowly came to her senses back in the real world. She saw her room again, and, again, saw the four heroes around her.
'Why is it that I always wake up here?' she thought to herself.
“I think she’s coming to!” someone said.
“Wha… What happened?” she asked.
“She’s awake!” the same voice verified. It turned out to be Mush.
“Would you mind answering my question? What happened?”
“Oh, right!” Goombella replied. “Well, we’re not quite sure. We’re guessing that there was some sort of internal power struggle between you and the Shadow Queen. All the Crystal Stars really did is weaken Shadow Queen enough for the battle to take place. If it occurred without the Crystal Star’s help, you would have pretty much gotten literally killed in there.”
“Uh… So, the Crystal Stars indirectly helped me beat Shadow Queen internally, and without them I’d have stood no chance?”
“Yeah.”
“Oh, and one more question. Why is Mush so good at hacking?” Peach asked.
“Yeah. Why is that?”
Everyone looked at Mush. He started sweating.
“Uh… er… that “princiemush” virus you guys keep getting isn’t caused by a hack program I happen to have in my back pocket?”
Pause...
“Works for me!” Koops said.
'Whew,' Mush thought. “So, uh, I guess that’s it for this adventure!” he said.
“Okay! Let’s go home!” Goombella concurred.
The four said their goodbyes and headed off for home. Mush held the position of Champion while still sending viruses to people. Goombella eventually found the answer of life, the universe, and everything, but couldn’t find the question (credit for that goes to Douglas Adams). Koops got married, ran for mayor, and lived an altogether happy and cliched life, and Bow scared everybody. Overall, everyone’s happy. But what of Beldam and Doopliss?
Somewhere in the middle of nowhere in particular…
“Heehee! I’m Beldam! Hahahaha!” Doopliss laughed, copying the body of Beldam.
“FOR THE LAST TIME, DON’T COPY ME!”
“Why not?” Doopliss transformed back to his normal self.
“Does the word 'punish' mean anything to you?”
“Uh oh.”
Pause...
“AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!”
The End
