It is very late at night over Dark Land. The kingdoms have all gone to bed for the night. It seems as if only one person is awake for miles. That person is an elite Magikoopa.
Kamek: I really have to stop this late night studying. I'm too old for this.
Kamek is a Magikoopa who serves the royal family of King Bowser. He has the ability to sense what will happen. Once he tried to thwart destiny and defeat Mario as a baby, but failed.
Kamek: What's this? I'm getting a bad feeling...
In his head Kamek sees a group of odd creatures on Star Road. These things say something to the Star Spirits and then the entire planet disappears from reality as its citizens know it and into nothing.
Kamek: What could this possibly mean? Why am I seeing everything disappear? How could this happen? Why would the Star Spirits do such a thing? So many questions...
Kamek eagerly waits for Bowser to wake so he can explain what he thinks is going to happen. So far Kamek has never been wrong. Although the one time he tried to change something he'd failed, what could it hurt to try? Around 11 AM, Bowser is in the throne room ready for meetings.
Kamek: King Bowser: this may be shocking, but last night I had a vision.
Bowser: Last time you said that Yoshi invaded the castle with Mario and we took a trip to the moon.
Kamek: Erm... Anyway, this time is different. The whole world is going to end shortly, and the only ones who know are the Star Spirits of Star Road.
Bowser: Yeah, and Mario is king of the elf people.
Kamek: My visions are always true!
Bowser: How many have you had?
Kamek: 498.
Bowser: Fine, but if it's false you will have to spend three weeks in the dungeon.
Kamek: I'm not one of your children.
Bowser: WHAT?
Kamek: Nothing, sir. I accept the risk.
Shortly thereafter, Bowser instructs his children to load their doomships. He gives them until 1 PM to do this. Before loading up, the seven turn up in the lobby.
Larry: I tell you, I heard some guards saying it's the end of the world.
Ludwig: While I find it odd we are departing so quickly, I doubt it is the end of the world.
Morton: Oh what am I to do if the world ends I will no longer be able to talk and nobody will be able to listen and then all of the people would be deprived of hearing me talking which would be torture and...
Morton continues his long talk while nobody listens.
Roy: This is stupid. I'm gonna load already.
Roy, Wendy, and Iggy leave to load their ships.
Larry: Don't you see we are going to try to stop the end of the world? But we can't, its more powerful than any of us.
Lemmy: If it were the end of the world the ancient calendar would list it as so. I looked this morning on my copy and it said Judgment Day was tomorrow. Does that sound like the end of the world to you?
Ludwig: Exactly, it does not.
Larry: You'll be laughing when you find out this isn't a joke!
Intercom: It is 12:55, please be ready to depart.
The rest of the Koopalings load their ships and prepare to leave.
Meanwhile, on the coast of Chocolate Island, Kamek raises Bowser's sunken doomship to the surface.
Bowser: Wow! Looks like I've got a good ride to go there in.
Kamek: Just board it and we can get this over with.
Bowser's doomship speeds past the Koopalings and they fall into order while keeping up. Citizens all over wonder why Bowser has his war machines running. Even more, they wonder why they are going in the opposite direction of the Mushroom Kingdom. The ships head up Star Way and reach Star Road. The Star Spirits are surprised to see the Koopas, but wait for Bowser.
Kamek: Yes, we are here to talk about the end of the world. We believe you know what's going on.
Eldstar: Funny you mention that. Yes, it's true the world ends tomorrow.
Bowser: WHAT?
Eldstar: This planet is to be judged by the race that made it for us 12 noon tomorrow. They are of an unknown species of shapeshifters. If they do not like it they will relocate all its citizens to a world with other nonexisting creatures. But people like Mario, who are connected to another realm, will survive.
Kamek: There is nothing we can do to stop this?
Eldstar: No, but if you have any spells that can bind someone to this world, I suggest using them now.
Kamek: I do have one; problem is it takes one year to complete per person. It's too late.
Bowser: This will end my career as a villain. NO! Help!
Bowser then has his troop return to the castle and holds a meeting to tell the fate of the world to all.
Bowser: ...That's how it's going to happen.
Ludwig: Wait a minute.
Bowser: What is it?
Ludwig: I can create bracelets that can keep us in this world no matter what happens to everyone else. The book I read clearly told how several advanced planets used them to stay when the rest perished.
Larry: If you could make these things why didn't you make them before?
Ludwig: What use could they serve? I wouldn't even know if they worked or not.
Bowser: (They'll probably blow up.) Go ahead and try. It is our last hope.
Lemmy: No more world tomorrow... Wow, it's hard to think straight...
Iggy: No more Giant Land.
Roy: You heard King Dad, we will be in land of nonexistence or something. I can beat you up there, so there's nothing to worry about.
Morton: Blah blah blah blah blah blah. (Insert more blahs here.)
At 5 PM DLS (Dark Land Standard Time), Ludwig starts working on the bracelets. By 7PM, Bowser is safe. At 9PM Ludwig himself is safe. Lemmy is safe at 11PM. By 3AM, Roy is save. Iggy is safe at 3AM. And at 4AM, Ludwig falls asleep.
Ludwig: ZzzZZzZzZ *yawn* What time is it?
Intercom: It is now 11 AM. 1 hour until the end of the world.
Ludwig: OH NO! I never finished last night! I still have Larry, Morton, Wendy, Queen Mom, and Kamek to save!
Intercom: It is now 11:55, 5 minutes until the end of the world.
Ludwig frantically throws together one more bracelet and runs toward the throne room with it in hopes someone who needs one will be there.
Larry: Finally! Now give it to me!
Morton: Please give it to me!
Wendy: I WAAAANT it now!
Ludwig: I can't make up my mind.
Ludwig throws it into the air. Kamek magically pulls it to him and snaps it on.
Larry: HEY!
Ludwig: Sorry I didn't make enough.
The ground begins to shake violently.
Star Road
Eldstar: Please don't do this. We followed your orders...
The shapeshifters are here. In their current form, they appear as unformed shadows.
Shapeshifter: HAHA! Sorry, but it's going to have to go.
Eldstar: Leave the planet as it is.
Shapeshifter: I do not see how it can hurt, but this planet seems to be linked to Earth. In order to keep this one, the link must be destroyed.
Eldstar: Fine.
In Brooklyn the warp pipe to Plit fades away.
Shapeshifter: Now. GAME OVER!
Everyone on the planet instantly fades away except those with Ludwig's invention and the Mario Brothers.
Shapeshifter: We must be going now; there are plenty of other unworthy planets out there.
The shapeshifter boards a large UFO and leaves.
Castle Koopa
Bowser: It happened!
Lemmy: Hey, what happened to Kamek?
Ludwig: Looks like I should have spent more time on that last one I made.
Unknown Location
Voice: Welcome to the land of nonexisting creatures. Let me be the first to tell you, you no longer exist.
The crowds of people are all in confusion.
Kamek: I knew somehow I would wind up here.
The voice goes on to say why things are the way they are. While this is going on, Kamek warps back.
Mario's House
Mario: Wow, something big just happened somewhere.
Luigi: I bet it was Bowser.
Castle Koopa
Kamek: I'm baack!
Bowser: How did-
Kamek: I realized the place where everyone went is actually in our physical realm. All I had to do was warp as I do here, but it takes a little longer. I also have a plan, but if we want it to work we have to carry it out now. It involves the Mari-
Mario: What did you do with everyone, Bowser?
Luigi: Hand over Peach!
Kamek: Exactly who I wanted to see!
Mario: What's going on here?
The story is told to Mario and Luigi.
Mario: I'll do it.
Kamek: Good. Here, take this.
Bowser: I am king of the world without any people, and I say your plan will fail and I refuse to do it.
Kamek uses magic to unfasten Bowser's bracelet.
Bowser: HELP.
Bowser fades away. Kamek places the bracelet on Mario.
Kamek: Using this spell, anything that works can be given the opposite effect.
Mario: So since they keep people here, with a spell it will make me disappear?
Kamek: Exactly.
Mario fades away.
Luigi: Oh no... Am I next?
Kamek: Actually, I have a special job for you.
Lemmy: What do we do to help?
Kamek: All of you will assist me.
Unknown Location
Bowser: You, Mario. After this is over we're back to being enemies, understand me?!
Mario: All righty, Bowser.
Mario and Bowser approach the leader of the shapeshifters.
Leader: Who are you?
Mario: We are the ones who are going to make you restore Plit.
Leader: HAHA!
The leader grows ten times in size and flattens Bowser.
Bowser: How did you do that? Owwwww.
Mario: I can do much better than that.
While Mario distracts the leader, Kamek and the Koopalings start grouping the citizens together.
Leader: How can you be so strong? You do not even exist!
Mario: I am here on my own free will.
Leader: How is that possible?
Mario begins to pummel the leader.
Kamek: Ready? 3, 2, 1, go!
Kamek warps the citizens back to a large cannon room.
Kamek: Luigi, these are the citizens of Toad Town.
Luigi: I see.
The citizens of Toad Town get into the cannon and Luigi aims as they blast home.
Mario: You are losing as we speak. Give up now!
Leader: I will never give up!
Kamek appears with Luigi.
Kamek: Finish this up, please.
Luigi: Mario, let's double power stomp this guy.
Mario: Right!
Leader: Hey, where did all the captured citizens go? HEY!
The leader releases a weird yell and all the other shapeshifters in this world form into a larger version.
Mario: I knew this was too one-sided.
Luigi: So you saved the best for last?
Leader: Things will be a little harder for you now!
Mario: Who wants to bet he grows to a larger size?
The leader becomes a clone of Luigi.
Mario: Is it me, or do you remind me of this ghost I once met?
Mario tries to stomp the leader, but he simply shrugs it off and stomps Luigi.
Luigi: Wow, that smarts. He is stronger than he looks.
Mario: Haha! That's you you're talking about!
Luigi: Sor-
The leader stomps Luigi.
Mario: I've had enough of this!
Mario power stomps the leader with no effect.
Leader: Haha! You see, I have a little secret!
Mario: Luigi, stomp him quickly.
Luigi manages to give a punch to the leader instead.
Leader: Ow! I mean, hahaha!
Mario: Luigi, I've figured it out. Only what he looks like can do any damage to him.
Luigi: I hope that he decides to look like me for a while.
The leader hits Luigi with another stomp and Luigi falls over.
Mario: This is no good. What can I do now?
Leader: If you give up now and be my slav,e I will forgive this little battle.
Mario: You won't ever succeed in that.
Leader: This won't go on forever. One of us will run out of energy, and it won't be me.
Mario: I'll think of something.
Kamek, from the sidelines, decides to finally speak up.
Kamek: Is there anyone back on the planet that could help you?
Mario: Go and ask one of your castles' shapeshifting Boos for help.
Kamek disappears.
Mario: I have to keep safe while Kamek is gone.
For 30 minutes, Mario carefully plays a game of cat and mouse with the leader. Finally, Kamek returns with a Boo. The Boo covers Mario, who is now wearing a realistic Luigi costume.
Mario: Take this!
Mario jumps powerfully on the leader, and then throws some hammers for good measure.
Mario: We won!
Boo: That will teach them to mess with us!
Kamek: Let us return before I change my mind about bringing you back.
Castle Koopa, 4 PM
Bowser: I guess we all learned to use our time wisely for we know not how long we will be safe.
Mario: I agree.
Bowser: Now get out of here before we decide to invade the Mushroom Kingdom!
Mario gets into a fighting stance.
Bowser: I didn't mean today.
Luigi: I'm real glad everything worked out.
Mario: Hey, I bet Peach will have a celebration at the castle!
Luigi: I know she will, she said she would when I blasted her to the castle.
Mario: What?
Luigi: I'll explain it later.
Mario and Luigi playfully exit, running to catch the party, while everyone in Castle Koopa breathes a sigh of relief.
The End
