Chapter One: Paper Mario and the Battle of Tubb
Paper Mario had just stopped Bowser after the turtle tyrant had stolen the Star Rod. He was now home with his brother watching television. "Hey Mario!" yelled Paper Luigi. "On the news! Isn't that Tubba Blubba?" Mario came over to the TV.
"Yeah, that is him," said Mario. "What is he up to now?" Mario turned up the volume.
"This tape was taken by Bow, a ghost who helped Paper Mario save the day," said the reporter. The tape continued and Mario saw that Tubba Blubba was eating more ghosts! Mario looked more closely and saw four shadows on a wall. The Koopa Brothers, thought Mario. I'd better go see what's going on.
Mario went to Boo Mansion and found Tubba Blubba. But he didn't want to get him yet, he wanted to find and defeat the Koopa Brothers. "Now where are they?"
Meanwhile...
"Tubb better do his job," said Red, leader of the Koopa Brothers.
"Yeah," said Black, "or else the boss isn't going to be happy."
"But what if Mario shows up?" asked Yellow.
"Don't worry, he won't," said Green.
"I wouldn't say that," said Mario from the door.
"MARIO?!" yelled the Koopa Brothers.
"Wait," said Red. "We can beat him. He's alone! Also, Tubb ate Bow, so she won't show up. This is too easy!"
They went into battle. "Oh yeah," said Red, "and you can't flee this fight."
The Koopa Brothers stacked up like a tower. Mario went over and jumped on them multiple times. They all fell on their backs. Mario then jumped on them all over and over again and won the battle. "When did you learn those moves?" Red gasped.
"I learned them after I beat you guys the first time," answered Mario. "So long, losers!"
Mario left the unconscious koopas and went to find Tubba Blubba. That was a waste of time, thought Mario. Now, if I was Tubb, where would I... Of course! Mario headed to Bow's room and saw Bootler.
"Mario, oh thank goodness!" yelled Bootler. "The mistress was devoured by Tubba Blubba. I have no choice but to force you to get her back." He pushed a button and a cage came down. In the cage was Paper Luigi.
"Hey, Bro," said Luigi. "The craziest thing happened after you left. That ghost thing over there knocked on our door. I thought it was the pizza dude, so I answered the door. Then..." The cage went back up.
"Then I grabbed the weirdo," Bootler continued. "So you'd better get the mistress back." There was a long silence. "OR YOU WILL NEVER SEE YOUR BROTHER AGAIN!"
Mario left the mansion. If this doesn't work, thought Mario, I'll have to go with plan B.
Mario made his way to the front of of Tubba's mansion. "Wow, he got a bigger mansion." Mario walked in. "Of course it's going to be stuffy inside." Mario climbed up 1,000 stairs to get to Tubba Blubba. "I... guess... Tubb thinks... this is 100 steps." He entered the final room.
"MARIO!!! I've been expecting you," said Tubba. "Let the battle begin!"
Lousy Tubba Blubba battle music started. Mario used his hammer, but caused no damage.
"Oh, and by the way, no running!" said Tubba. Tubba used Butt Slam and did 3 damage.
Mario used Power Smash and did 1 damage. Tubba used Butt Slam on every one of his turns. Mario charged his hammer enough so it could do 9 damage to Tubba. "No! This was better than the Bowser suit!" Tubba Blubba blew up! It was just a big robot suit! The Koopa Brothers fell to the ground!
"Curse you, Mario!" yelled Red. "Koopa Brothers, let's go!" Red turned to leave, but crashed into an invisible wall. "Huh?!" They looked around and saw the real Tubba Blubba in his bed.
"You little idiots," said Tubba. "You can't flee the fight. Remember?"
"Whatever!" Red turned around. "We can beat you this time!" The Koopa Brothers stacked up like a tower. Mario went over and jumped on them multiple times. They all fell on their backs. Mario then jumped on them all over and over again and won the battle. "No! You beat us the same exact way!" The Koopa Brothers made a run for it.
"All right," said Tubba Blubba as he got up. "It's go time! You can't flee this fight, Mario."
Mario took out a book called Stats For Morons. He looked up Tubba Blubba.
Tubba Blubba
HP: 30, Defense: 2, Attack: 7+.
Description: Tubba Blubba is no
longer invincible. He hates to eat ghosts, but loves to eat eggs. BEWARE
OF ATTACK (7+)!
"Wait a minute," said Mario. "You no longer eat ghosts?"
"Battle now! Talk later!"
Mario used Power Smash and did 5 damage. Tubba used Ground Pound and did 7 damage. Mario used Power Jump and did 5 damage. Tubba used Ground Pound and did 8 damage.
"Oh, I get it," said Mario. "Every time you attack, you do 1 damage more."
Mario used Multibounce and did 7 damage. Tubba did 9 damage.
"My HP is running low," Mario said. Mario had started this battle with 50 HP. He now had 26 HP. Tubba had started with 30 HP, and now had 13 HP.
Mario used MultiBounce (and the rest of his FP) and did 7 damage. Tubba did 10 damage.
"Looks like you're going to lose, Mario!" yelled Tubba. "You're finished!" Mario reached into his pocket and pulled out a Honey Syrup. He drank it and gained a little more FP. Tubba did 11 damage. "That should do it," said Tubba. "Once the smoke clears, you should be knocked out!" Mario was still standing. "WHAT!? But that should have done it!"
"I still have 5 HP left, Tubby!" said Mario. He used Multibounce and finished him off.
"No no no!" yelled Tubba Blubba. "I'm sick of losing!" He began to cry. "I didn't even do anything!"
"You mean you didn't eat Bow?" asked Mario.
"EW, NO! Ghosts these days have a bad taste!"
"Oh, sorry. Anything I can do to make you feel better?"
"Well," said Tubb, "I've always wanted to try to fight for good and not evil."
"Then you can join me," said Mario. Mario thought about Luigi. "Time for Plan B! Come on, Tubby!" Mario and Tubba went to the Boo Mansion.
"Oh goody!" said Bootler. "You captured him! Now give us Bow!"
"He doesn't have her," said Mario.
"Then go find her!"
"No!"
"THEN I'M KEEPING YOUR BROTHER!"
Mario looked up at Luigi. He started laughing. "Fine," said Mario. "Keep him! It's your loss!" Mario and Tubba left.
"What are going to do tomorrow, Mario?" asked Tubba.
"Same thing we do every day, Tubby. Try to takeover the world!" Mario laughed evilly.
"Really?" asked Tubba.
"No, I've just always wanted to say that."
"ARF ARF!" Mario and Tubba turned around and saw two Chain Chomps!
"This could be a problem," said Mario.
