Actual Boss: Fire and Ice Shadows
Fire shoots fireballs and Ice shoots Freezies at Morton. Shy Ranger calls Morton.
Shy Ranger: Those two look tough. Since they have exact opposite elements, maybe you can use their attacks against each other.
The two shoot their attack, but Morton jumps and the attacks hit Fire and Ice. Fire and Ice take serious damage. Ice shoots Freezies, but Morton sends them at Fire, who gets knocked out.
Morton: FIREBALLS!
Fireballs hit Ice, who also gets knocked out. The two turn into regular Shadows. Morton claws the two, but then they summon a forcefield. A switch appears, Morton presses it, an M Pad appears, and Morton stands on it.
Morton: FIRE STREAM!
The giant shockwave defeats the Shadows.
Shadows: NOOOOOOOOO! WE… WILL… RETURN!
The two Shadows disappear. A warp pipe and Waluigi Racer appear. Morton takes the Racer, and goes through the pipe.
Level 6: From Desert to Volcano
Morton appears at the top room in the pyramid, and talks to a hooded figure.
Figure: Do you want to enter the Sands Classic race?
Morton: Sounds fun, but I need to go to the volcanoes.
Figure: Oh yes, the Fire Land. The only way to get there is though the Sands Classic course, but only racers can use it today.
Morton: Okay, I’ll enter the race.
Morton gets in the Waluigi Racer, and goes to the starting line. The other racers include a Hammer Brother, Fire Brother, and Boomerang Brother. The door in front of them opens to reveal the exit to the pyramid.
Figure: Welcome to the Sands Classic. Racers, on your mark, get set, GOOOOOO!
The racers leave the pyramid. The hooded figure calls the three Brothers on their phones.
Figure: Morton doesn’t want to win the race, but make sure he doesn’t make it to Fire Land alive.
The figure removes his hood, revealing Fire. Ice enters the room.
Ice: Good job, Brother.
Race: Sands Classic
The racers are going up the pyramid. Morton is just making sure he gets to Fire Land alive. The racers get off the pyramid, and go through the desert.
Hammer Brother: Time to go to work.
Hammer Brother throws hammers at Morton. Morton starts swerving and hits a cactus, but continues driving.
Morton: Why is he shooting hammers at me? I wasn’t in first. Something’s wrong here...
The racers continue through the desert, avoiding Pokeys. Morton grabs one and throws it at Hammer Brother, who falls out of his car and out of the race. After avoiding the Pokeys, the racers enter a set of mountains. Fire Brother starts throwing fireballs at Morton. Morton spins out, but continues driving. Morton avoids the fireballs after that. The two enter a narrow road in between trenches. Morton finds Mushrooms, uses them, dashes right next to Fire Brother, and starts ramming into him. Fire Brother falls into a pit. Morton avoids the pits and exits the trenches. Morton and Boomerang Brother enter a road surrounded by lava.
Morton: This must be Fire La- What the?
Boomerang Brother throws boomerangs at Morton. Morton is about to fall into lava, but doesn’t. Morton jumps over lava, finds some Red Shells, throws them at Boomerang Brother, and he falls into the lava. Morton enters a swirling vortex.
Level 7: Mt. Lavalava
Morton appears in the volcano. Shy Ranger calls him on the communicator.
Shy Ranger: Boy, the Evil Three really want to get rid of you.
Morton: What do you mean? They weren’t so hard.
Shy Ranger: Not them.
Morton notices Mario, Sushi, and Kolorado going through the volcano.
Shy Ranger: That vortex you entered was created by the Evil Three. It was a time warp that sent you to the time when Mario went to save the fifth Star Spirit.
Morton: Oh yeah- Wait, wasn’t he paper?
Shy Ranger: The Evil Three changed the volcano a little. However, remember, Mario has the power to beat you. So, make sure Mario doesn’t see you.
Morton goes down the path. A Piranha Plant appears.
Piranha Plant: HALT! WHO GOES THERE?
Morton: I’m trying to get to Corona Mountain.
Piranha Plant: LAVA PIRANHA KNOWS THE WAY!
Morton: Can I see him?
Piranha Plant: NO! NO ONE MAY SEE HIM!
Morton: Well I’m coming in, anyway!
Morton punches Piranha Plant.
Piranha Plant: OW OW OW! MUST WARN BOSS! INTRUDER ALERT! INTRUDER ALERT!
Piranha Plant disappears. Morton continues on the path. He enters the room with small, round platforms over lava. Morton sees Mario leaving through the gate on the other side. Morton jumps over the platforms and enters the next room. In this room Morton runs on a collapsing bridge. Morton crosses it, and continues to the next room.
Morton: Shy Ranger was right. The Evil Three changed this area.
Morton catches up with Mario, so he hides. Mario pushes blocks that make a bridge over the lava. Mario leaves, and Morton crosses the bridge. The next room is a narrow path with lava on the sides. Mario falls in, and Morton runs past him, unnoticed. In the next room, Morton hides by going through a left path. Morton finds a treasure chest, opens it, and finds an Ice Power Badge.
“You got the Ice Power Badge. This turns your Magic Attacks into Ice Attacks. This is useful against Fire-based enemies.”
Morton leaves the room and sees Mario going straight. Morton follows. In the next room, Mario runs away from a spiked boulder. Morton runs through the room. The next room is a giant circle filled with Spike Tops and Piranha Plants. Mario loses the battle, and disappears.
Morton: Finally he’s out of my way.
Morton equips his Ice Power Badge.
Morton: ICE BALL!
Morton shoots Ice Balls at all of the enemies, who are then destroyed. The Piranha Plant from the beginning appears.
Morton: Now will you take me to Lava Piranha?
Piranha Plant: FINE.
A warp pipe appears.
Piranha Plant: ENTER.
The Piranha Plant disappears, and Morton enters the pipe. Morton appears in front of Lava Piranha.
Lava Piranha: YOU MAY NOT TAKE THE STAR SPIRIT!
Morton: I’m not here for that. I need to go to Corona Mountain.
Lava Piranha: THE EVIL THREE WARNED ME ABOUT YOU! YOU MAY NOT PASS!
Mini Boss: Lava Piranha
Lava Piranha summons his two Piranha Buds.
Morton: ICE BALL!
Morton shoots Ice Balls, which freeze the Piranhas. They go back into the lava, but (like in Paper Mario) they return with lava on their heads.
Lava Piranha: YOUR ICE BALL ATTACK WON’T WORK NOW!
A switch appears. Morton runs to it, avoiding falling boulders. He hit’s the switch and an M Pad appears. Morton runs to it and stands on it.
Morton: ICE STREAM!
A shockwave freezes the Piranhas. The frozen Piranhas break apart, and a hole is revealed. Morton goes down the hole.
Between Level: Volcano Way
Morton hops into a lava boat, and starts driving through the lava. While driving, Morton avoids fireballs and falling boulders. Morton finds land, hops off the boat, and runs, but Shy Ranger calls.
Shy Ranger: In some worlds, there are small levels between two others.
Morton goes through a door and runs into a living Mountain.
Mountain: I am Mountono! None shall pass!
Mini Boss: Mountono
Morton starts clawing Mountono, making him smaller. Mountono makes boulders fall. Morton continues clawing him, and he disappears.
Morton: Well that was easy.
Morton goes through a door, and hops into another lava boat. Morton goes down a lava slope and enters a warp pipe.
Level 8: Corona Mountain
Morton enters in his lava boat, and hops off onto land. Morton jumps over platforms, avoiding fireballs. Morton enters room with jellyfish.
Morton: ICE BALL!
The Ice Balls destroy the jellyfish. Morton goes to the next room. This room has a giant lava lake with no platforms. On the only platform where Morton is, he sees a big chest and a door on the left. Morton goes through the door. Morton runs into two Ninjakoopas. Morton claws and defeats them. In the next room, Morton runs into a giant jellyfish.
Mini Boss: Jellofo
Jellofo summons jellyfish, and creates a Magical Barrier.
Morton: ICE BALL!
The jellyfish are defeated, and the barrier is destroyed.
Morton: ICE BALL!
Jellofo is hurt bad.
Morton: ICE BALL!
Jellofo breaks into three smaller versions, and they create a Magical Barrier. A switch appears, Morton presses it, and the Barrier disappears.
Morton: ICE BALL!
The three disappear, and a chest appears. Morton breaks pots to heal his Magic. Morton then opens the chest and gets a key.
“You got a Big Key.”
Morton backtracks to the lava lake room. Morton opens the big chest, revealing red shoes.
“You got the Fire Koopa Shoes. These shoes allow you to walk on lava, but they make you move slowly.”
Morton puts on the shoes and walks on the lava. Shy Ranger calls.
Shy Ranger: Remember, the shoes only protect your feet, so don’t touch the lava.
Morton avoids Fire Koopas, red Koopas that breath fire. Morton goes into the next room, enters a tall room with a living volcano at the top. Morton stands on the platform, and takes off the shoes.
Volcanofo: I am the volcano, who dares enter my domain?
Volcanofo shoots down lava. Morton climbs the ladder, avoiding the lava and fireballs. Morton jumps up the platforms, climbs stairs, and climbs ladders. Halfway up, Morton avoids the lava and falling boulders. Morton climbs a giant ladder, avoiding fireballs, and ends up in Volcanofo’s room with the Fire Stone and Wendy Ocean Koopa in a cage.
Morton: I’m here for the Fire Stone. You can keep Wendy.
Wendy: HEY!
Boss: Volcanofo
Volcanofo shoots fireballs.
Morton: ICE BALL!
Volcanofo doesn’t get hurt.
Morton: Shy Ranger, help!
Shy Ranger: It seem his rock body is unaffected by the ice. Try to attack when fire appears.
Volcanofo charges up, and the top of his head sets on fire.
Morton: ICE BALL!
Volcanofo’s top freezes up, and he gets stunned. Morton claws Volcanofo. Morton repeats this two more times. Volcanofo transforms into a blob of lava. Morton puts on his Fire Koopa Shoes, and steps on the blob. A switch appears, Morton presses it, an M Pad appears, and Morton stands on it.
Morton: ICE STREAM!
A shockwave freezes Volcanofo into a blob of ice. Morton takes off his Ice Power Badge, and stands on the M Pad.
Morton: FIRE STREAM!
A shockwave makes Volcanofo melts. Wendy’s cage opens.
Morton takes the Fire Stone.
“You got the Fire Stone. Three down, six to go. Next stop, Water Land.”
Wendy punches Morton.
Wendy: Thanks for letting him keep me here.
Morton: Yeesh, I was kidding.
Wendy: WARP STONE!
Morton enters the stone, and Wendy disappears.
Meanwhile, back at Evil Castle, Bowser and Clawdia are talking to Bowser Junior.
Clawdia: So, you got captured too?
Bowser Junior: Yeah, I came to Ludwig’s room, looking for everyone else.
Bowser: Boy, the only thing that would get me more angry is if Mario threw a seventh party without me.
Bowser Junior: Well…
Bowser: AARRGGHH!
Meanwhile, in the throne room, Cackletta and Smithy are talking.
Cackletta: It seems we have underestimated the Koopalings.
Smithy: We need to increase our attack forces.
Cackletta: I heard Wendy is going to Water Land. I’ll send the forces there.
Smithy: They must be stopped.
