Chapter Fifty-Four: Master of Puppets
Mario stared up into the reptilian eyes of Takoi, unafraid, and sent a mennacing glare worthy of hades.
"Your plan will never succeed," Mario stated.
"I believe you are mistaken, fool. This world is mine," Takoi replied, laughing. Mario did not hesitate anymore. He jumped up into the air, Star Hammer raised and glowing. He slammed it into Takoi's beastly head and the demonic Yoster roared with pain. He opened his enormous jaws and a rainbow orb began forming. Mario clenched his teeth when he was pelted with a painful blast. He fell to the ground, and Takoi's giant claw wrapped around him and smashed him into the ground. Mario's eyes flashed and he shot a star fireball at Takoi. The monstrous Yoster stumbled back, surprised by the hero's strength.
Mario flew forward, front-flipping several times, and plowed into Takoi's head with his boots before doing the same to the creature's stomach, knocking him backwards into the ground. Takoi lifted off into the sky with his humongous wings and his claws slashed at the air. A large, purple cloud formed in front of him, then was fired at Mario. There was a large explosion and smoke everywhere. When it finally cleared, Mario was nowhere to be seen. Takoi growled. "Where?" he asked of no one in particular.
"Here," a voice came from behind him. The Yoster spun around to see the caped hero floating there heroically, a golden light surrounding him. He clapped his hands together and a large, golden beam shot out and slammed into Takoi. He went flying and crashed into the wall. Mario shot forward like a bullet and sent a powerful, star-powered kick into the creature's gut. He slammed a fist into Mario, but he grabbed it and threw the creature over his head, slamming him into the ground. Mario flew towards the downed creature. His claw shot out and grabbed Mario. His claw then lit in dark flames, burning the hero badly .
When the flames had stopped, he was there, smoking and charred, bleeding and burned, but his eyes blazed brighter than anything. The draconic Yoshi breathed Mario to the ground with rainbow demon breath. Mario got up under the force of the attack. The breath poured over him, but he walked forward under it. He jumped into the air and kicked Takoi in the face, making him bleed from the mouth. The beast growled and slammed his fist into Mario, sending the hero spiraling off the edge into the lava. The Yoster snickered, but then there was a bright flash that illuminated the entire cavern. Mario flew from the lava in a holy, golden glow. Where he walked flowers bloomed and spiraled up towards the sky.
"Pathetic," Mario stated. Takoi felt a pang of fear at Mario's new godly form.
"Light always pierces the darkness. And there is always much more light than darkness. And just like all before you...." Mario grinned.
"YOU-WILL-FALL!!!" Takoi roared in response and flew through the air at the warrior. Mario cocked back his arm and buried his fist deep into the draconic creature's face. His neck recoiled and he flew into the air only to come crashing down. Mario jumped so high that soon he was out of sight. He came down with full force, landing on Takoi's stomach. The dragon threw up blood and glowered at Mario. In return Mario shot his fist forward, but the dragon caught it and slammed Mario's face into the ground. Mario broke free of Takoi's grasp easily and smashed the Sky-Yoster's head with his Star Hammer.
Takoi slammed his fist into the ground and conjured an orb of lightning around his hand, which he shot at Mario. He swung his hammer repeatedly, ricocheting the lightning in random directions. The Yoster growled and several giant snowflakes appeared in midair. They started spinning at extremely fast paces and shot after Mario every which way. They followed him relentlessly, Mario flying ahead. He turned his head and shot several Star fireballs at the snowflakes. One slowly got pelted until it got blown to small ice bits. Mario grinned, flying out of the way of the next.
The second one persued him far and over a long period of time. It whirled fast and Mario ducked into a small tunnel. Wind rustled his hair and flew past his body as he zoomed down the narrow passageway. The snowflake-blade followed persistantly and cruely waiting for the hero to slip up. But he did not. He zoomed upwards and flew into another tunnel. The small ice blade almost slipped up but stayed on the trail shakily. Mario flew forward, then ducked to the right. The blade ducked to the right. Mario flew upwards. The blade did the same, completely copying Mario's every motion. Mario flew straight up, zooming fast and speedy up the shaft. There was light at the end and the yellow-caped hero burst from it and turned. He threw a powerful punch and cracked the ice blade into a million tiny peices.
From above the third came like a messanger of death, powerful and swift. Mario flew downwards, avoiding the crystiline blade, flying with the grace and agility of a cheetah. Mario flew on, untiring, always pushing forwards. He shot several fireballs at the pesky ice blade and it shattered. Mario turned towards Takoi, the demon with a worried face on. He swung his hammer down and crashed it upon the beast's head. He roared and slumped his head against the ground. Then a blast of rainbow light was shot at Mario, but he leapt out of the way and drilled a punch into Takoi.
Several dark blasts shot from the Yoster's hide, and Mario flew swiftly like a bird, dodging them all. A large claw shot out and attempted to down Mario, but it was tossed away by Mario's hand. Takoi growled mennacingly and reached both of his claws into the air. A dark fire started blazing in midair and Mario wondered what he was up to. There was a smirk on the Yoster's face, which was not a good sign at all. A dark hilt appeared and slowly grouped its particles together upward, forming a large sword with demonic carvings on it.
"Good fight, Mario. But it ends here." Takoi raised the sword to the sky and lightning bolts rained down into it and it glowed with a truly terrifying demonic aura. Dark fire spewed off in several different directions. From this new presence Mario felt... cold. He felt disturbed by the blade. Nevertheless, Mario leapt into the air and flew toward the Yoshi. The demonic blade came down. The hero blocked it with his Star Hammer, but surprisingly, the blade was taken away and stabbed straight at Mario's chest. The blade collided with him and the hero was enveloped with dark energy. Mario roared as pain erupted through him and he crashed to the ground. He got up struggling.
"What's the matter? Not all pumped up full of pep anymore? Shame." Takoi slammed his blade down on Mario again and the hero flew back in pain burning. Mario glared at the large creature. He flew into the air and punched Takoi in the face with not as much force as before. Takoi was only slightly hurt and stumbled back a bit. Mario jumped into the air and kicked the Yoster. He attempted another, but his legs were grabbed and the hero pounded into the ground. Mario got up, his golden aura flickering. Blood trickled from the right side of his mouth and he wasn't looking so good. Takoi grinned and smashed Mario across the face with his tail.
Mario collapsed to the ground, bleeding and breathing heavily. His eyes had lost their lusterous glow, and he sighed.
"Who's pathetic now, fool?" Takoi asked. "You hurt me. And that makes me really ticked off." The enormous Yoster slammed his fist into Mario's gut, who was sent flying backwards. Mario sighed with his head lowered. Then faintly, his Star Hammer began to glow.
"Hmn? What's this?" Takoi asked. Mario looked down at his Star Hammer and it started glowing a faint pinkish color, but then... it got brighter. The pink turned into white and silver and gold. Mario raised off the ground glowing again, eyes ablaze.
"Darn you!!!" Takoi growled. "You never stay dead!" Mario raised higher and flew straight at the beast. Takoi blocked with his demonic sword and felt a collossus of force. Sweat ran down the monstrous head of the Yoster as he felt his grip slipping. Mario stood firm, wounds healed for the most part. The Star Hammer went forward and slammed the demonic Yoster in the head, crashing the beast into the cavern wall yet again. His eyes snapped open and a deadly breath of dark fire poured from the maw of Takoi. When it ended Mario smashed him in the back of the head with his Star Hammer. Then he fell onto the ground and Mario slammed his fist into his stomach. Takoi roared in pain as Mario shot him in the face with several Star fireballs and then kicked him in the jaw.
Takoi rose his sword to the sky and sent dark lightning straight at Mario. The hero dashed it away with his mighty hammer and Takoi feared those eyes that he looked into. Mario leapt into the air and crashed down on the Yoster's head. The devilish tail came up from behind and wrapped Mario in it, the hero screaming in pain as the beast sent him flying into the ground. Mario attempted to get up but was stomped on. Mario lifted out from underneath it and fired Star Fireballs at the creature. The dragon's wings folded in and blocked all the projectiles. The creature breathed heavily. "I'm not out yet," Takoi said.
"You will be," replied Mario, but he wasn't so sure. He was at full power, and yet Takoi was still putting up a fight. It had to be the sword that was amplifying his power. Mario had to get past that and then he could win. He jumped into the air and swung his hammer furiously but skillfully at Takoi. The creature blocked with his sword and parried, coming up from underneath trying to get Mario. The caped hero jumped out of the way, his golden cape flowing. From a handstand position Mario shot Star Fireballs at the face of Takoi, but the dragon blocked it with his giant demonic sword.
Mario jumped into the air and zoomed forward, and Takoi was startled by the immense speeds. He tried to block, but his sword shattered and Mario enveloped him in golden energy. The beast collapsed to the ground dead.

Down on Plit everyone was cheering. The sky had changed from a venomous red to a peaceful blue. A portal appeared and Princess Eclair jumped through. Mario saw that she was there next to him. She ran forward and hugged him, kissing him. It looked like a beautiful ending to a long adventure...
Epilogue: Reunited at last...?
Lucy's face had tears streaming down
it and she was smiling. "YOU DID IT!!!" she
cried happily.
"Yeah..." Mario muttered.
"What's wrong? Oh... yeah," she muttered in the same sad tone. Mario began to cry, although not out of joy.
"I wish she was still alive... I think she was with me in the final battle," Mario said, when suddenly something caught his eye. He saw a small, raised crater over by the edge of the cavern platform. He went over to it curiously. When he looked at it a smile came upon himself.
"Hey... this is one of those things that is a portal to the world of the dead!" Mario reached his arm in and at the bottom he saw a beautiful, golden haired girl-spirit, eyes open, looking at him. It swam upward and Mario grabbed her hand. There was a flash of golden light, and lying on the ground next to him was a disgruntled, wet, messy Peach. Alive. Tears flowed down Mario's face like a raging stream and he hugged her and kissed her and looked into her eyes.
"I'm alive..." Peach stated.
"I know... it's wonderful," Mario stated.
"How have you been?" Peach asked.
"I've been good," Mario said, kissing her again.
"Who's that?" Peach asked, gesturing to the Koopa.
"Oh, her? Well she and I went out when you were dead," Mario replied. Peach stepped back, an annoyed look on her face.
"Wait... You mean while I was dead you were going out with another girl?" Peach asked.
"I always thought of you. I thought that you would've wanted me to move on..." Mario said.
Peach's face contorted in rage. "YOU HAVE THE NERVE!!!" she shreiked.
"What?!" Mario asked.
"I'm dead and you just go out with some other floozy?" Peach asked.
"Hey! I'm a princess!" Lucy said to Peach, hands on her hips.
"Peach..." Mario said sadly.
"Don't 'Peach' me!" she roared. "YOU ARE SO SELFISH!" This hit Mario like a sixteen-wheel truck.
"SELFISH? SELFISH? HOW DARE YOU CALL
ME SELFISH?! ALL THIS TIME I'VE BEEN TRYING TO
REVIVE YOU, I FINALLY DO AND YOU GIVE
ME ANGUISH!" Mario raged, seething.
"THAT'S WHAT YOU CALL TRYING TO REVIVE ME? YOU WERE GETTING YOUR FUNK ON WITH THIS... THIS LIZARD!!!" Peach screamed. "Mario... I never want to see you ever again," Peach said, turning away. Mario's face had a look of horror on it.
"^&*&^!!!" Mario shouted.
"Take me home. Now," she demanded.
"Okay..." Mario replied.

Slimer lay on a tanning bed out on the upper deck of Brian's house and was drinking a beer. Bow came out and laughed at the slightly goofy Koopa.
"That was quite an adventure," Bow said.
"I'm just going to pretend it was a really long, annoying, coma-induced alchoholism poisoning," Slimer said, lowering his shades so that they shined in Bow's eyes. She shrieked.
"YOU JERK!" Bow dumped a tea cup on Slimer and he shouted.
"YOU'RE IN FOR IT NOW!" he shouted. Slimer jumped up and chased her.

The green extra-terrestrial known as Mewtwo90 stood next to his girlfreind.
"So... when will you be coming back?" he asked Sage.
"Not until summer, I'm afraid... but I await the day when I can be in your arms again," she said, and they kissed. Then they broke away and a large bus came along. The doors opened and she went inside. As the bus drove away she waved goodbye through the windows and the alien sighed, walking off as the bus disapeared from sight into the sunset...

Wario and Waluigi were sitting on the couch eating junk and watching TV. The news said "Mario Mario saved Plit once again today, and we are all glad to be alive." Wario spat.
"BAH!" Wario snapped.
"He saved us all, you know..." Waluigi responded.
"Yeah. But he makes us look bad!" Wario said.
"LET'S DO SOMETHING!" he said.
"YEAH!" replied his brother.
"... Maybe after a couple more bags of cheese puffs," Wario said.

Ludwig and Karma sat together holding hands.
"We made it... we're alive," Ludwig said happily.
"Yeah, but for how long?" Karma asked.
"I don't know..." he responded.

And back in a dark castle Alkeron stirred. Then he let out a low, evil laugh that shook the halls. "The end is nigh..." Alkeron responded.

Slimer49'r: Well everyone. That's it for my third book. I will have a fourth one, and it will probably be the best. Unfortunately, you will have to wait 'til September... HEY! I NEED A BREAK DARN IT! But I love you people. See you all next time...
