Hearts raced fast as the quintet of heroes entered the room. This place was wonderfully decorated, with a red carpet and gold walls. It wasn't desolate and destroyed like the rest of Sarasaland. They all opened the door on the far side of the room, and advanced. The next room was a traditional spiral staircase, with shimmering ruby- and gold-colored walls. As they all walked up, tensions ran higher, and everyone got more nervous with each stair they ascended. Luigi told all his friends that they had come way too far to give in now. The fate of the entire world was upon their shoulders! Everyone smiled and prepared for battle. As they reached the end of the staircase, silver double doors were all that stood in the way of the good and the evil. Yoshi ran up in front and pushed the doors with all his might. Then creaked open slightly, and then, after a good push or two, were wide open.
Everyone was on guard, waiting to take on the ultimate challenge. The gigantic room was dangerously quiet for something that big. Bow felt a shiver down her spine, and Tubba Blubba gulped. Mario led the way with Yoshi, side by side. The original trio stood close behind. Luigi stopped everybody. They wandered the room for about a minute. Nothing was happening. He was concerned, like Waluigi could've been planning a sneak attack, or he might have left! The quintet turned around and looked at each other. They said nothing, but heard a noise. All of them jumped, and heartbeats were at lightning speed. Mario told everyone to quiet down and just look around for unordinary things. But the room was completely empty... Tubba Blubba got frustrated, and started to flail himself around. By pure luck, his head was thrust upward to the ceiling. Instantly he was frozen in fear! Luigi ran over to him and tried to get his attention. Luigi looked up to see what Tubba Blubba was looking at, and he fell over in astonishment. Soon Bow, Mario, and Yoshi were too curious. They looked up, and saw the room was upside down! They were walking on the ceiling! And Waluigi was on the floor! Waluigi heard Bow scream, and started laughing manically. He flipped a switch, and the quintet all fell on the floor. Waluigi, in his black armor, told them this was their last chance to run. Yoshi spoke for the group, saying that they would never back down! Waluigi smirked, looked at the ground, and snapped his fingers. Suddenly, an earthquake started! Everyone was tossed from side to side, but Waluigi stayed exactly in place. The iron ground collapsed, and Naval's head emerged from the ground!
The once beautifully decorated room was destroyed. The heroes all stood amongst the rubble, gasping. Waluigi was on Naval's head, but he was not alone. A man in a black cloak stood with him on Naval's head. His face was concealed by a hood, but Luigi recognized his shoes. They were the green ones from the resting chamber! Waluigi finally looked up, and asked Mario who hated him to the point of destroying the entire Mushroom Kingdom to find him? But before Mario could talk, Waluigi answered for him. The man took off his cloak, revealing his true identity. Both of the evil dictators of Sarasaland proclaimed his names to the quintet. It was Wario!
As soon as Wario's name was said, Naval shot some of his vines up from the ground to attack! All of them evaded the vines with ease, but when Naval rose about twenty vines, things got difficult! Waluigi and Wario laughed as one by one the vines cracked the heroes like whips. When Naval rose all his vines, some things were hanging off them. All five heroes grouped together while he tried to whip the eight parasites off his vines. Luigi got a better look, and identified the Koopalings and Bowser! One by one, they performed acrobatic flips off the vines. They all ran beside the quintet of heroes, on guard. Bowser told them he was making a temporary alliance with them, only for the fight! He ran alongside Yoshi and got on guard. Bowser bellowed charge, and the whole group ran in for a frontal assault!
Everyone found a spot, and with all their might, fought. Luigi had teamed up with Tubba Blubba and Bow, and they used techniques they’d acquired from this adventure and past ones. The old friends’ attacks were a mixed bag, so the trio of Wario, Naval, and Waluigi had a hard time keeping up. Mario and Yoshi remembered their first adventures and used them to their advantages.Yoshi ate rubble from Naval's uprise, and threw eggs at his vines, which made Naval relive the reason he once died! Roy and Iggy teamed up, with Roy throwing Iggy once he was inside his shell at Wario and Waluigi, making them get mad. Ludwig and Bowser used their flame breath to their advantage, burning Naval's roots. Morton and Larry snuck onto Naval's head and brawled with Wario and Waluigi from an easier approach. Wendy and Lemmy attacked from afar, sniping with their wands and the Freeze Gun from behind rubble. That is, until Yoshi ate their spot. So the evil ones were being attacked from every different angle.
It looked like the heroes had the upper hand, until Naval grabbed everyone. Everyone struggled, and The Wario Bros. ran across vines and attacked every enemy individually. Naval started to squeeze harder, until Bowser and Ludwig burned the vines around them. As they fell to the ground, Ludwig pulled out one of his inventions. He had been saving it for Larry's plants, but this was an emergency! It was a fast-acting plant killer, and he used it on Naval. He climbed up the dead vines, jumped high into the air, and shot the aerosol in Naval's gaping mouth. The plant coughed and hacked, and fell over. Its grips loosened, and everyone was freed. Wario and Waluigi were devastated by the loss of Naval. Waluigi ran to Ludwig and pinned him to the ground. Ludwig fought valiantly, but was losing terribly. Wario joined in to kill Ludwig, and would've, despite Bowser's efforts to save the future king, and his firstborn. Everyone else huddled together to think of a plan. As they all thought, something smashed them all together. Naval was back from the dead, for the second time! He made the grip terribly tight, and everyone was an inch from death! Roy squirmed, but then hatched an idea! He told Bow to phase Luigi, Yoshi and herself out. He, Iggy, Lemmy, Tubba Blubba, Wendy, Morton, and Larry all stuck their spikes into Naval's vines. Naval let them go, and they all ran to the scuffle on the far side of the room.
Ludwig was gasping for air, and Wendy saw his plant killer aerosol roll out of his hands. She got an idea. She jumped on Wario and used the aerosol like pepper spray. She shot the evil duo in the eyes, temporarily blinding them. Ludwig was treated by Larry and Morton. Everyone else focused on Naval, who was tending to his wounded vine. Larry ran over to Wendy and grabbed the aerosol. She ran to him and stopped him. He turned and she asked if he was ready to kill a plant. Larry nodded and climbed onto Naval's lip. When the gargantuan Piranha Plant saw the Koopaling, he opened his mouth to eat him! Larry shot the spray directly down Naval's throat. The plant started to wither, but Larry didn't stop. Naval's vines turned brown, and the plant started to shake violently. Naval's face turned yellow, and he fell. Larry matched his movement perfectly and landed on his lip once it was resting on the ground. Wario and Waluigi rubbed the aerosol out, and saw Naval twitching! They ran over to Naval's head and tackled Larry. Wario's shoulder connected with Larry's face, and his fist smashed the lever on the aerosol and jammed it. It flew down Naval's shaking throat and down in his vines. The aerosol button was shoved down, so it continually sprayed. Waluigi grinned menacingly at Larry, but Larry grinned back, and pointed at Naval.
Waluigi looked over to see that Naval was completely brown, face and all. His tongue lay on the ground out of his mouth, and fell apart. Waluigi ran over to the plant and touched it. The entire body fell apart into a giant mass of dead dust. Waluigi and Wario stood there, defeated. Waluigi, not taking his eyes off the group of heroes, pulled out a warp pipe potion! He and Wario jumped in it, vowing their return. They all gathered around the pipe, and Bowser shot flames down it. The yelps of Waluigi and Wario echoed throughout the pipe, and then it closed.
Everyone looked at each other. Mario, Yoshi, Bow, Luigi, and Tubba Blubba cheered, while Bowser and his children smirked. They all went down the staircase, and were at the room where Naval once resided. Bowser collected Kamek, the Dark Koopa, and the Bandanas. Bowser gave Luigi a warp pipe potion, and used one of his own. The Royal Koopas said their goodbyes, and left. Luigi threw the potion, and created an escape. The entire Mushroom Army awoke from Naval's dust, and followed down the pipe. There was one last soldier that jumped on the pipe. He looked at all five of them, and transformed into Doopliss! Before anyone could do anything, the diabolical Duplighost escaped down the pipe. Everyone else was concerned, but Luigi looked at them with a smile and asked them what’s the worst that could happen?
After returning to the Mushroom Kingdom, the quintet walked down to Princess Peach's Castle. Many of them got funny looks for wearing such tattered clothes and having blood all over their broken bodies. The heroes were smiling, too. For they had just defeated Waluigi, a fearsome villain! If this hadn't have been done in secrecy, those Mushroomers would be kissing their feet. As for Bow, her hand.
Mario rapped on the castle door, and was greeted with a kiss by Peach. Everyone was waiting for the heroes' arival. They walked in, only to see a party was being thrown for their deeds! Luigi ran in and saw Daisy up and healed. As soon as Sarasaland was safe, the sickness was lifted. They embraced, and she asked him about the battle. Yoshi was walking around, and then saw the fruit table. An angel was looking over the dinosaur, as he ran and started to devour the table's contents. Bow and Tubba Blubba mingled with the Toad guards, and talked to Princess Peach. Tubba Blubba apologized to Mario about OPERATION: STAR SPIRIT SHOWDOWN, but amid his speech, Mario stopped him. He told him to think nothing of it, and just let loose. Tubba Blubba agreed, and his song started to play. He started to breakdance, and Mario looked at the monster he just created by saying "let loose". Mario laughed, and started to breakdance too. Bow was talking to Toadsworth, about how he reminded her of Bootler. She called him, and he appeared right next to her. Toadsworth looked at Bootler, and they both said simultaniously that they didn't know what Bow was talking about. All three of them started to laugh. Peach ran up the stairs, and said let the party really begin! The Boos from Gusty Gulch and Sarasaland flew through the doors, and Luigi clenched Daisy's hand hard. He shook his head, put his drink down, and started towards the Boos. He talked to them, and as soon as they saw him, they toppled him over, trying to get his autograph.
In the middle of the party, everything was serene, until Bowser, the Koopalings, and the entire Koopa army burst open the door. Peach walked forward a bit, and asked their business. Bowser shot open a bottle of wine, and the party really got going! No matter how evil they were, the Koopalings dared not to do anything today. It was a day of celebration! Roy and Ludwig danced, and won the Dance Contest, bringing home a gigantic, solid platinum trophy! Wendy and Lemmy performed tricks on the ball, and Iggy did a magic performance, with the assistance of Kammy and Kamek, of course. Larry joined Yoshi eating at the fruit table, but took the vegetable side. Morton sat and talked to Toadsworth, and he actually listened to everything he said! Bowser used his flame breath for a fireshow, and actually taught the princess how he shot the flames! Bowser and his kids were acting... Nice!
For many moons, Waluigi was not seen, nor Wario. Luigi went home to Boo Hill with Daisy, and Yoshi departed for LavaLava Island. Bow and Tubba Blubba went back to Gusty Gulch, and Mario returned home to his house on the outskirts of Toad Town. The quintet of heroes kept in touch, and never forgot how they thwarted Waluigi.
