Previously on Super Mario Moonlight:
Mario had a duel with Shadow Mario.
Mario was just about to save the princess but Shadow Mario trnsported her
to his hideout. But that's the least of his problems because he has to
fix Isle Delfino's problem before he can leave. Will he fix Isle Delfino's
problem? Find out!
In Delfino Plaza...
Mario: PEACH!
Mario runs to the Pianta statue.
Mario: PEEEEEEEEACH! Oh Princess PEEEAAACCCHHH!!!
FLUDD: Mario, it is useless. Peach is at Bowser's hideout and we don't know where that is. I think we should fix Isle Delfino before we do anything. Bowser can't be stupid enough to hide somewhere on Isle Delfino.
Somewhere high above Isle Delfino...
Peach falls on a cloud.
Peach: Where am I?
Peach looks off into the distance and sees a gigantic storm cloud. Two Lakitus appear behind Peach.
Lakitu #1: Princess Peach!
Peach turns around and sees the Lakitus. She runs off of the cloud by accident. Lakitu #1 hooks Peach's dress with his fishing line.
Lakitu #2: Nice catch, Bro!
Lakitu #1: Thank you, Bro!
The Lakitus fly away to the inside of the storm cloud.
Back in Delfino Plaza...
A giant pile of goop lands on top of the shop where the two raccoons are selling Shine Sprites.
Father Raccoon: Dang it! Get the hose, son!
The little raccoon runs to get the hose and brings it to his father. The father sprays the pile. However the pile does not wash away.
Mario: WAIT!
But it's too late. A gargantuan Goop Piranha Plant emerges from the pile. It swallows the raccoons.
FLUDD: Mario! We must save them!
Mario sprays the Goop Piranha Plant and it starts slidding off of the store.
Goop Piranha Plant: AHH!
The Goop Piranha Plant starts sliding off more. Mario sprays the Goop Piranha Plant one more time and it slides off more.
Goop Piranha Plant: Uh oh.
The Goop Piranha Plant falls off of the store and into the ocean. It dies and the raccoons get out of the water.
Mario: Whew...
The Shine Sprites in Mario's pocket start glowing.
Mario: Huh?
The Shine Sprites fly out of Mario's pocket and float in front of him. The Shine Sprites charge up and shoot at the store. Then they go back into Mario's pocket. Mario looks at the store and sees a portal. Mario jumps in.
Mario falls-
Mario: Ahem!
-and lands on his feet.
Mario: Thank you!
Then he trips and lands on his face.
Mario: *sigh*
Mario gets up and looks around. He sees that he is at Ricco Harbor. He looks and finds that Ricco Harbor has collapsed! All the rails that were in the air (the blue ones that had Bloopers on them) are only three feet above the sea, the helicopter pad is floating on the sea, and the cage (remember The Caged Shine Sprite in SMS) is on the helicopter pad.
Pianta: HEY! HEY YOU!
Mario looks over at the cage and sees a bunch of Piantas in the cage.
Pianta: A little help please?
Mario swims over to the helicopter pad and jumps on to it.
Mario: What's going on here?
Pianta: Oh, it's a dreadful story. You see, we thought we had gotten rid of that horrible Blooper! But he's back! Gooper Blooper took over the harbor!
Mario: How?
Pianta: He dropped from the sky! The vibrations in the water caused everything to drop! The cage went flying and landed on the helicopter pad! Then Gooper Blooper caused mayhem and destruction! He's holding a blooper surfing race. If somebody beats him then the harbor is ours again! But nobody has, and anybody who loses ends up in this cage!
Mario: I might be able to beat him!
Pianta: You are a very brave (foolish) man.
Mario: Thank you.
Pianta: And I pity you.
A tentacle rises from the sea and drops a Pianta in the cage (Gooper Blooper must have taken the top off of the cage).
Pianta (the one that was just talking to Mario): I guess you're next.
Mario swims into a tunnel (the one where you had to go to race against the clock in Blooper surfing) and finds Gooper Blooper harassing a bunch of Piantas. Mario sprays Gooper Blooper to try to hurt him, but the water does nothing but make him mad.
Gooper Blooper: AARROOOOOOO! (How dare you interrupt me when I'm doing bad things? Why the- *gasp* Mario!)
Mario: So you're water resistant now? Whatever, I'll still win this battle!
Gooper Blooper jumps in the water and summons a green Blooper.
Mario: I mean, I'll still win this race!
Mario jumps on the green Blooper.
READY! SET! GOOOOOO!!!
Gooper Blooper takes off and makes a big wave behind him. Mario takes off too.
Speed Check: Gooper Blooper 100 mph. Mario 50 mph.
Mario: Man he's fast! He must be the best since he's kind of like a king to other Bloopers.
Gooper Blooper makes a turn. One minute later Mario makes the same turn.
FLUDD: Mario! We must catch up!
Mario switches to the Turbo Nozzle and activates it.
Speed Check: Gooper Blooper 100 mph. Mario 99 and a half mph.
Mario is right behind Gooper Blooper!
FLUDD: We must slow him down!
Mario grabs one of Gooper Blooper's tentacles and tries to pull him back.
Gooper Blooper: AHHH! AHHH! AHHH! (OW! OW! OW!)
Mario pulls Gooper Blooper's tentacle off and Gooper Blooper shoots up into the air.
Mario: He may not be vulnerable to water. But he's still vulnerable to that move.
Mario speeds ahead and Gooper Blooper lands. The vibrations cause Mario to fly up into the air.
Gooper Blooper: AAARRROOOOO!! (Ouch! You pest!)
Mario lands and goes forward. Gooper Blooper catches up and squirts goop at Mario. Direct hit!
Mario: Woah... woah... AYEEEE!
Mario starts losing his balance. and slows down by turning off FLUDD. Gooper Blooper speeds ahead of him.
Speed Check: Gooper Blooper 100 mph. Mario 50 mph.
Mario turns FLUDD back on and catches up to Gooper Blooper. He grabs one of Gooper Blooper's tentacles and pulls it off. Gooper Blooper shoots up into the air. Mario speeds ahead.
Mario: The finish line! I'm going to win! I'M GOING TO WIN!
Gooper Blooper lands and grabs Mario. Gooper Blooper throws Mario off his Blooper behind him and Mario hits a wall. Mario lands back in the water.
Mario: Oh no! Gooper Blooper's going to win!
FLUDD: Not on my watch!
Mario: You don't wear a watch.
FLUDD: Mario! Turn me on! We're going to go full speed!
Mario turns on FLUDD and they go ZOOM!
Speed Check: Gooper Blooper 100 mph. Mario 90 mph.
Mario catches up to Gooper Blooper and grabs one of his last two tentacles. Mario speeds ahead of Gooper Blooper and drags him along. Mario crosses the finish line! Mario gets out of the water while dragging Gooper Blooper and tosses him out of the tunnel.
Outside of the tunnel...
Pianta: We must break free! But how? I know! Everybody! We must charge against this wall!
Pianta Kid: Are you kidding?
Gooper Blooper: AAAARRROO!!! (INCOMING!)
Pianta Kid: We'd need a team of rhinos for something like that!
Gooper Blooper crashes into the cage and busts a hole into it. Everybody ducks and Gooper Blooper crashes into the other wall and explodes as bunch of goop.
Pianta Kid: Let me rephrase that. A team of rhinos... or one Gooper Blooper!
Everybody goes out of the cage through the hole. A Shine Sprite emerges from the goop and flies to Mario. Mario grabs it. The Shine Sprite shines and Mario is sent back to Delfino Plaza.
Will Mario save the princess? Will he get the last five Shine Sprites? Will I stop making him fall? Stay tuned!
Previously on Super Mario Moonlight:
Mario visited Ricco Harbor only to
find it taken over by Gooper Blooper. It was a close finish but Mario beat
Gooper Blooper in a race. Mario claimed another Shine Sprite and now there
are only five more to collect! But Peach is still captured. Can Mario save
Isle Delfino before Peach can't be saved? Find out!
Above Isle Delfino in the big storm cloud...
The two Lakitus go deep into the cloud until they reach a floating castle inside.
Peach: Let me go!
The Lakitus reach the throne room in the castle.
Lakitu #1: Certainly!
The Lakitu unhooks Peach. Peach looks up at the throne and sees a giant figure with red hair and spikes on its back sitting on the throne. That's all she can see because 75% of the room is dark.
The figure with red hair and spikes: Gwa ha ha! Good job, Lakitu Brothers! You can go now.
Lakitu Brothers: Yes, your evilness!
The Lakitu Brothers leave and the dark figure picks up Peach.
Peach: AHHH!
The figure sets Peach on the throne with him. Hmm... Who could this guy be?
Peach: MARIOOOOOOO!!!
In Delfino Plaza...
Mario hears something. "Mariooooooo!” is what he hears.
Mario: Peach?
FLUDD: I know you miss her, Mario. But we must focus on one problem at a time. We must find another Shine Sprite.
Mario looks at the beach. He sees Shadow Mario!
Mario: Shadow Mario! I've got you now!
Mario runs to the beach. Shadow Mario is just standing there. Mario tries to grab him but his hand goes right through him! Mario keeps trying and Shadow Mario fades in the wind. The wind blows to the lighthouse. Mario follows. He goes to the lighthouse and sees the door open. He looks inside and sees someone in a robe.
Mario: Hello?
Person in robe: Come in. Come in.
Mario: Who are you?
Person in robe: I am Fortunetella.
Mario: Fortune-who?
Fortunetella: Fortunetella. I'm the fortune teller of Isle Delfino. People who want their fortune told come to me.
Mario: I thought I saw Shadow Mario come in here.
Fortunetella: Tell me, dear. Is this Shadow Mario a friend or foe of you?
Mario: Foe.
Fortunetella: Ahhh. Many people see their enemy's figure when they're near my crystal ball.
Mario: I wish I could find Shadow Mario.
Fortunetella: I could find him for you. I shall recite the chant of the finder to my crystal ball. It will find Shadow Mario for you. *clears throat* Powers of finding. Powers of wind. Find this man his evil foe.
Fortunetella hits her crystal ball and it shows a picture of Gelato Beach.
Fortunetella: Your enemy is on Gelato Beach.
Mario: I have to get there!
The Shine Sprites come out of Mario's pocket and start glowing. They charge up and shoot the crystal ball with a powerful blast. The crystal ball starts glowing. The Shine Sprites go back into Mario's pocket.
FLUDD: Interesting. I've never seen the Shine Sprites do this kind of stuff before.
The crystal ball sucks Mario into it. Mario falls-
Mario: Hey!
-face first-
Mario: Grrr...
-and lands on Gelato Beach in the sand.
Mario: MFFF FAMM MA FM! (I WANT TO STOP FALLING!)
If you stop complaining I'll make you stop falling. Mario gets his head out of the sand.
Mario: Fine.
Mario looks around and sees that the beach is deserted. He looks on top of a palm tree and sees Nokis.
Mario: Hey! What are you doing up there?
Yellow Noki: SHHH! Quiet!
Mario: Huh?
RAARRR!!!
Mario looks behind himself and sees Petey Piranha flying toward the beach!
Mario: YAH!
Petey makes a tornado that stirs up some sand and it lands on Mario. Mario tries to get out of the sand but he can't.
Petey: RAARRR!!!
Petey spits goop out onto the beach and then turns around and leaves. The Nokis get out of the tree. They go and help Mario out of the sand.
Yellow Noki: You ok?
Mario: Yeah. I think so. What was that?
Blue Noki: It was Petey Piranha. He came here and did something to our dune buds that turned them all into Piranha Plants.
Mario: That's terrible!
FLUDD: Mario! Ask about Shadow Mario!
Mario: Oh, yeah! Did you see a blue person that looks like me come by here?
Green Noki: Yes. He asked if he could have our Shine Sprite. We told him we were using it hatch the sandbird's baby. Then he left and the next time we watered a dune bud it became a Piranha Plant. And ever since then that horrible Petey’s been coming and making a mess on our beach!
Mario sprays some goop piles to clean them up, then turns back to the Nokis.
Mario: If I find out what happened to your dune buds, take care of Petey, and get your dune buds back, will you give me the Shine Sprite?
Green Noki: But the sandbird's baby- the Shine- dune buds- uh... sure. Why not?
Mario: Great!
Mario heads off to the sandbird egg.
FLUDD: What are you doing?
Mario: I'm going to use the Shine Sprites to hatch the sandbird.
FLUDD: Why?
Mario: If we're going to find Petey we need to fly like Petey.
Mario takes out the three Shine Sprites and they start glowing. The sandbird egg starts shaking. The sand bird comes out of the egg. Mario jumps on the sandbird and the sandbird takes off in Petey's direction. It's not long until they catch up with Petey.
Mario: Petey Piranha at- 1, 2, 3- cheese o' clock!
FLUDD: You've got to be doing that on purpose.
Mario runs to the head of the sandbird and starts spraying Petey. But instead of hurting Petey, it doesn't do anything.
Mario: Is every bad guy not vulnerable to water anymore?
Petey heads through some clouds and the sandbird does so too. On the other side of the cloud Mario sees a tower that looks like a Piranha Plant. Mario and the sandbird head through the mouth (entrance) in pursuit of Petey. They fly down the stem (tower) until they reach the bottom. Mario jumps off of the sandbird and lands in the throne room, where he finds Petey sitting on the throne.
Mario: Hello, Petey Piranha!
Petey: RAARRR!!!! (Mario!)
Petey gets off of the throne. Mario runs up to Petey. Petey presses a button on a wall that turns the room into a wrestling ring.
Hello and welcome to PIRANHA PLANT SLAM AND SCRAM! Today on the left side of the ring we have small and scrawny italian hero, Mario! And on the right side we have big, strong plant villain, Petey Piranha! Fight!
Petey starts off by creating a tornado that sweeps Mario off his feet and throws him out of the ring. Mario jumps back in the ring and switches FLUDD to the Turbo Nozzle. Mario uses the Turbo Nozzle and charges into Petey, causing Petey to fall over. Mario switches to the Rocket Nozzle. He jumps into Petey's mouth and rockets out, flooding Petey’s mouth. Mario takes out the Shine Sprites and they start glowing. They fly into Petey's mouth and make the water boil. Petey starts throwing a fit and pounding the floor. He spits out the water and Mario collects the Shine Sprites.
Energy Check: Petey 50/45 Energy Points. Mario 20/13 EP.
Petey spits flame goop at Mario and Mario dodges. Mario switches to the Turbo Nozzle and charges toward Petey. Petey dodges and Mario charges into the wall. Petey grabs Mario and opens his mouth. Petey is about to swallow Mario whole but Mario uses the Turbo Nozzle to charge into Petey's throat. Mario charges into Petey's throat so fast, Petey chokes. Petey spits Mario out and catches his breath.
Energy Check: Petey 50/20 EP. Mario 20/10 EP. Petey is still catching his breath.
Mario charges into Petey and Petey falls down. Mario floods Petey's mouth with water and makes the water boil with the Shine Sprites. Mario forcibly shuts Petey's mouth and ground pounds on his mouth.
Energy Check: Petey 50/15 EP and still decreasing. Mario 20/10 EP.
Petey's mouth is still boiling. Petey opens his mouth and Mario falls in. Petey closes his mouth and gets up. He spits Mario, the boiling water, and the Shine Sprites out.
Energy Check: Petey: 50/1 EP. Mario 20/1 EP.
Mario charges toward Petey and Petey
dodges. Mario crashes into the wall and loses his last EP. The vibrations
cause the ceiling to fall on top of Petey. Uh... they both got KO'd. WHO
WINS? Wait, the Shine
Sprites are giving Mario some of their
power! Mario is revived! But what's this? Petey just got up and spit flame
goop everywhere! The entire place is on fire! Mario tries to extinguish
the flames but they're too strong! The sandbird flies into the ring! Mario
jumps on the sandbird and they fly out of the tower! Petey burns to ashes
and dies.
Meanwhile on Gelato Beach...
The sandbird (the one that Mario's not on) comes to check on its egg and sees it has hatched! But it looks around and sees that the baby's not there!
Blue Noki: That man better get back with the sandbird or-
Mario returns on the back of the baby sandbird and they fly to the baby's mom. Mario runs to where the Nokis are.
Mario: I beat Petey Piranha!
Green Noki: But where's our dune buds?
Somebody waters the place where a piranha plant is, thinking it's a dune bud.
Green Noki: NO!
A Piranha Plant pops up from the ground and spits out a dune bud. All the Piranha Plants do this and then they all die.
Mario: I guess the Piranha Plants ate your dune buds.
Green Noki: Well, I guess you deserve this.
The Noki hands Mario the Shine Sprite. It starts glowing and Mario ends up back at Delfino Plaza.
Will Mario find Peach? Will he collect the rest of the Shine Sprites? I've been asking these questions throughout this entire story so you probably won't figure it out next time. Or will you?

Super Mario Moonlight:
Mario went to
Gelato Beach expecting dune buds, sun, and fun but found it to be in trouble!
He discovered that the entire place was under siege of Petey Piranha. Mario
sprang into action and beat the giant Piranha Plant and returned the dune
buds to the beach. In return he got a Shine Sprite but not the location
of Peach. Will he ever find her?
In Delfino Plaza…
Toadsworth: Master Mario! The princess! Where is the princess, sir?
Mario: I don't know, but I don't care at the moment! I've been looking for Peach and Shine Sprites all day! I came here for a vacation! I want to have fun!
A Pianta walks over to Mario.
Pianta: You ought to go to Pinna Park!
Mario: Where?
Pianta: Pinna Park! It's the greatest amusement park conveniently next to Isle Delfino! (And the only one.)
Mario: Sounds fun! Want to go FLUDD?
FLUDD: Sure. After all, we might find a Shine Sprite!
Pianta: Then go in this here cannon!
Mario jumps in the cannon and is shot to Pinna Park.
Mario: WHEE HEE HEE HEE!
Mario lands near Pinna Park.
Mario: Wow! The ride here is as amusing as the amusement park!
RRAAARRRR!!!!
Mario: Huh?
A crowd of five Piantas and six Nokis run out of the park.
Pianta: Run! Run for your life!
Pianta #2: It's Yoshizilla!
Mario: Excuse me. EXCUSE ME!
The crowd keeps on running. Mario sprays everybody to make them stop.
Crowd: HEY!
Mario: What's going on here?
Pianta #1: It's horrible! A blue guy that looks like you lost a game and threw a fit. Then he ran to the Yoshi-Go-Round and painted all over one of the Yoshis! Then the Yoshi got bigger and bigger and bigger until it became a monster!
Yoshizilla: RRAAARRRR!!!
Pianta #2: Our park will be destroyed if someone doesn't do something about that horrible monster!
Mario: Did you see what the blue guy did after this?
Pianta #1: He jumped in the Yoshi's mouth!
Mario: (If Shadow Mario was here then a Shine Sprite should be here too!) Do you happen to have a Shine Sprite?
Noki: Yes. It was being given away as a prize at the game that the blue guy played.
Mario: If I handle this Yoshi, will you give me the Shine Sprite?
Noki: Sure. After all the, author's paying me $10 to say yes.
Mario: Good!
Mario runs over to the giant Yoshi and squirts its shoe. The Yoshi looks down and sees Mario. The Yoshi lunges its tongue out toward Mario but Mario jumps out of the way. The Yoshi's tongue goes into the ground and gets stuck.
In the castle above Isle Delfino…
The figure that
has Peach gets off of the throne. The figure steps into the
light and turns
out to be Bowser!
Bowser: HA HA HA! My plan is working perfectly!
Peach: What exactly is your plan?
Bowser: HA HA HA! My plan is to let Mario collect all the Shine Sprites!
Peach: Then why are you trying to stop him with your monsters and everything?
Bowser: I've got Jr. out there collecting Shine Sprites too, just in case something bad happens! But anyway, I'm going to let him get the Shine Sprites! When he's got enough I'll lure him into a cage by using you! Then I'll make him give me the Shine Sprites! And if he refuses then I'm going to dip him in a vat of lava! Then after obtaining the Shine Sprites, I'll take over the Mushroom Kingdom! Either way, I win!
Peach: Oh... MMAAARRRRIIIIIOOOOOO!!!
Back in Pinna Park…
Mario runs up the Yoshi's tongue and into the Yoshi's mouth. The Yoshi gets its tongue out of the ground and swings it around in its mouth. Mario dodges the Yoshi's tongue and goes down its throat. Mario lands on a platform and looks around. He sees cogs and wheels spinning and turning. He looks down and sees wires. He sprays the wires and the entire place is surrounded in electric jolts. Mario wall kicks up the Yoshi's throat and makes it to the mouth again and looks up. He sees a door in the roof of the Yoshi's mouth. He jumps up and grabs the knob. He turns it and swings down along with the door and lets go of the knob. He switches to the Rocket Nozzle and rockets through the door (or the roof since the door's open). He lands in the control room for the Yoshi (this means that the Yoshi is a robot). Mario looks at who the person controlling the robot is and sees that it is Shadow Mario! Shadow Mario is pressing buttons on a keyboard and pulling levers and turning knobs.
Mario: So that's why you went in the monster's mouth!
Shadow Mario turns around and presses a button on the wall. A bunch of lasers start shooting at Mario. Mario dodges them by doing wall kicks and spin jumps and a whole bunch of moves. Shadow Mario goes back to work and finishes by pressing a special button with a picture of a wrench on it. Shadow Mario turns off the lasers and turns into Bowser Jr.
Bowser Jr: You're pretty persistent for an idiot.
Mario: Enough insults! I'm here to stop you!
Bowser Jr: Well
then you're a little late. My plan is almost complete! But
thanks to you,
the robot malfunctioned!
Mario: Huh?
Bowser Jr: Hey author! Could you show Mario what he did?
Of course! On the outside of the robot, smoke is coming out of its mouth and explosions can be heard happening inside.
Bowser Jr: That button I just pressed is an auto-repair button that will fix this robot. As soon as it's fixed I'll destroy you with it!
Mario: There's a little problem. How can you destroy me with the robot if I'm inside of it?
Bowser Jr. presses a button that ejects Mario out of the robot. Mario lands on the ship ride.
Mario: Woah! I've got to stop that robot! But how?
Mario jumps off of the ship ride and runs to the Ferris wheel.
Mario: There must be something!
Robot: RAARRR!!!!
The robot Yoshi's tongue turns into a laser gun and starts firing at Mario.
Mario: YAH!
Mario dodges all the blasts and gets an idea.
Mario! I got an idea! I'll make the rides destroy the robot!
Mario positions himself just right and the robot fires a laser. Mario dodges and the laser hits the Ferris wheel. The Ferris wheel goes on the loose and rolls into the robot. The robot falls over and loses its arms.
Bowser Jr: AHH! AUTO-REPAIR! AUTO-REPAIR!
The auto-repair is unable to fix the arms. The robot gets up. The robot’s tongue turns into a flamethrower and shoots flames at Mario. Mario dodges and runs to the ship ride. Flames hit the ships and they are set on fire. Mario stands under one of the ships and the robot heads for Mario. The robot steps on the ship Mario is not under and the robot catches on fire.
Bowser Jr: YAH! REPAIR! PLEASE REPAIR!
The robot's legs fall off. Bowser Jr. ejects himself from the robot. He presses a button on a remote control and the rest of the robot blows up.
Mario: Ok, Bowser Jr! Time to defeat you!
Bowser Jr. presses another button on the remote control and the remote zaps Mario.
Mario: AHH Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-YAH!
Mario falls to the ground and Bowser Jr. turns into Shadow Mario. Shadow Mario paints a pile of goop on the floor and jumps into it. Mario gets up and runs to the goop pile but it vanishes. Everybody comes into the park and sees that it has been destroyed.
Pianta #1: It's ruined! This is all your fault!
The Shine Sprites come out of Mario's pocket and start glowing. All the rides in the park fix themselves and the Shine Sprites go back in Mario's pocket.
Pianta #1: And now it's fixed. Uh... I guess this is yours.
The Pianta hands Mario the Shine Sprite and the Shine Sprite glows. Mario is transported back to Isle Delfino.
Will Bowser's plan succeed? Will the three remaining Shine Sprites be collected by Mario? Stay tuned to find out!
