Chapter 5: Crystal of Respect
“First of all, where can I get my bow fixed?” said Paralee.
“Bark,” went Albino. Then he took Paralee to a carpenter.
“Good enough,” said Paralee. She sighed. “If only I had a treat for you as a reward,” she said, rubbing Albino’s head. They went inside the shop, where a Toad was building a chair. He looked up.
“May I help you?” he asked.
“I know you’re busy, but can you repair this bow for me?” Paralee asked.
“Sure,” said the carpenter. Then he super-glued the two halves, put in the extra pieces, and made the string a little tighter.
“Here you go, all it needed was just gluing. I just made the string a bit tougher so it won’t snap as easily.”
Paralee tested the bow by stretching the string a little further. “It’s perfect,” she said. She gave the carpenter 10 coins, and left the shop.
Paralee looked through her mailbag and noticed the letters were a little damp. She picked one and carefully opened it, but it was kind of difficult to read.
Dear Paralee, glad you found your first crystal and you’re all right. Bowser and his men were angry, because it’s been discovered, and they don’t know who did it. So you haven’t been found out yet. Now the Crystal of Respect is probably somewhere in the Mushroom Kingdome. The reason why I can’t tell you the exact spot is because Bowser and his men caught me spying and they shackled my wrist so I’m unable write right now. Hope you can find the Crystal. No these shackles don’t hurt. Don’t worry about me, I’ll be ok.”

“Oh Dad, I hope they don’t get uncomfortable,” Paralee thought. “Time to go back home, Albino,” said Paralee,
“Bark,” went Albino. Then he circled Paralee again.
Soon they were in the middle of Toad Town, only to find that it had been overrun with white Shy Guys.
“Oh my gosh, these Shy Guys look like the Ku Klux Klan,” said Paralee, Then she heard a yelp from Albino. Paralee turned and saw a black Shy Guy running away with him. Paralee quickly grabbed her bow and an arrow, and shot the Shy Guy. Albino ran to Paralee as the black Shy Guy got up.
“All right, Anti Guy, what’s with all the ruckus?” said Paralee, pointing an arrow at him.
The Anti Guy looked insulted. “First of all, I’m an Anti Girl. Don’t compare us to regular Anti Guys, Shy Guys, or anything in the Guy group because that’s when we get really aggressive. We’re twice as strong and are way better than any Guy. Even Medi Girls attack better and restore more HP than Medi Guys.”
“Quit bragging and tell me what this is all about,” Paralee demanded, but the Anti Girl just ran away.
Paralee went to her house to see if a Shy Guy or Girl was there. When she opened the door the house was a complete mess. Then she saw a yellow Shy Guy running away with a pink book with a picture of Miroku on it.
“That’s my diary!” Paralee thought. Then she followed the Shy Guy that took her diary. Soon she was at a dead end.
“I can’t just stop, personal things were in there… and even worse, mystic spells! If they read that section, who knows what power they may behold!” Paralee thought, then she climbed over the fence. When she touched the ground she must’ve hit a hidden panel because she then fell into a large room that had nothing but stuff that looked fit for girls 3 to 6 years old.
“Bet this is where the Girls hide stolen items.” Paralee thought. Then Albino went running to Paralee, and jumped around barking. “Albino, sit,” said Paralee. Albino went still, then started to follow Paralee. They went inside a play room and saw their thief, the same yellow Shy Guy who stole Paralee’s diary. They went closer and heard the thief snickering. Paralee whacked the Shy Guy hard with her fist and retrieved the diary.
“OW! You meanie, I was reading that!” the Shy Guy snapped.
“Stupid, do you know what this is? Albino, this can be your battle, I’m going to find the Crystal.”

“What? This isn’t a battle, I’m way too strong for this guy… Hey, I can talk! Wait a minute… Only in my mind, oh well,” thought Albino, Then he just bit the Shy Guy 7 times.

VICTORY FOR ALBINO
“Ok, time to find my mistress,” Albino thought, then he looked around the place. He saw Paralee lying on the floor, lifeless. Albino panicked as he licked Paralee a few times, but nothing happened. Albino licked again, but still got no response. Albino ran around, not knowing what to do. He was too small to carry Paralee and her diary at the same time, and there was nothing but foes around.
Then he heard Paralee moan.
“I was so close...” she said, getting up and putting the diary in her mailbag.
“Bark, bark!” went Albino. Then he made a soft growl toward Paralee, looking worried.
“Oh, did I scare you? I’m sorry,” said Paralee, rubbing Albino’s head. “Seems like there's a ghost who hates the dark,” said Paralee. "That's kind of unusual. And why would they have a ghost in this toy box or treasure chest or whatever they call it?"
They got up and Paralee looked through her mailbag and pulled out the second letter.
Only my reincarnation can go through my barrier.
“I’ll figure that out later.” Paralee thought, then she had a flashback about Parakarry telling her she was Paralia’s reincarnation.
“Duh, there must be something around that grave that Paralia wants me to see,” Paralee thought. “Albino, we need to go somewhere after we find the Crystal of Respect… Do you think you know who’s guarding it?” Paralee asked.
Albino knocked down a stack of blocks nearby and tried to spell ghost with them.
“Look, I’m not sure if it was a ghost… Well, I just assumed it was, but a ghost who hates the dark? But I just pressed a button, it went dark, then out of the blue I just got punched,” Paralee explained. “Wait a minute, if we turn this whole place dark maybe we can find out if it’s guarding the Crystal,” she said.
Albino just ran off looking for a switch, while Paralee tried the same trick again. But before she could climb the place went all dark.
“Albino… that crazy Chain Chomp...” Paralee thought. Then she heard a loud screech. “Hope, it’s not the ghost,” Paralee thought. Then she saw a strange Boo. It was medium-sized and yellow mixed with a little tan, with blue eyes.
“You dare to turn the lights out again?! You must be after the Crystal! Well guess what? Lack of light isn’t going to work, you’re going have to battle.” Then Albino came with a bunch of wires in his mouth and looking a bit stronger.

“Wait a minute… If Albino’s HP is 50 then how did it boost up to 100?” Paralee thought.
Paralee grabbed her bow and arrow and took a shot, but her arrow went right through the Boo, causing no damage.
Albino charged but he just went through the ghost too.
Light Boo shined
a very bright light, temporarily blinding Paralee and causing Albino 50
HP of damage.

Albino turned
into a vacuum and tried to suck in the Boo, but instead he sucked in 50
HP, causing the boo to lose 50 and Albino to gain 50.

Paralee regained
her vision and created a black light, causing the Boo 100 HP of damage.
LIGHT BOO (HP:
100/250)
Light Boo faded,
then surprisingly flashed powerfully, causing Paralee to go color blind
and dealing Albino 100 HP of damage.
ALBINO (HP: 0/100)
Albino got restored
by Paralee’s kiss
ALBINO (HP: 100/100)
Albino turned
into a big Chain Chomp and barked loudly 40 times, causing the Boo 40 HP
of damage.
LIGHT BOO (HP:
60/250)
Paralee did an
air raid with black magic, which usually causes 12 HP of damage but to
creatures who hate the dark it deals double damage.
LIGHT BOO (HP:
36/250)
Light Boo did
an electric attack which caused Albino 5 HP of damage and shocked Paralee
though for some reason it restored her vision.
ALBINO (HP: 95/100)
Paralee used black
magic to confuse the Boo and drain 30 HP.
LIGHT BOO (HP:

Albino just bit
the Light Boo 6 times.

AND ALBINO
“That was the toughest opponent I ever challenged!” Paralee said.
“It’s about to get tougher!” a voice shouted. Then a pack of Shy Guys or Girls ran in.
“Please,” said Paralee, then she used her good magic to defeat the Shy Guys and Girls.
“Well I didn’t get to know the difference between the Shy Guys and Girls, but hey, they weren’t so tough like that Anti Girl bragged about,” said Paralee.
“Bark,” went Albino in his normal size. Paralee climbed up a tall building and grabbed the Crystal of Respect.
“I’m a little exhausted from using a lot of that magic. Let’s go home and take a nap before we find our next Crystal and take you to the place where we need to go.
