Daisy’s Quest for the Attributes

Chapter 3: Yoshi vs. Yoshi

Larry and Doshi were approaching the forest, and Doshi heard something. “What was that?” asked Doshi.

“What?” asked Larry back.

“I thought I heard some sort of movement,” replied Doshi. Then Daisy and Koshi chose a bad time to appear from behind the bush. “Hey, what are you doing here?” he cried.

“I’ll handle the Yoshi,” said Koshi.

“You’re on, little girl,” replied Doshi. They stepped aside to a clearing closer to Soda Lake than the other group. They both threw eggs at each other, and they collided into each other. Then Doshi charged, and Koshi sidestepped and swung her tail, but Doshi caught it. He then let go and started kicking her. Her response was to swing her arms at him, and she hit him in the face.

He fell over and said, “Hey, you’re pretty good, but you’re nothing compared to me.” He jumped up and his feet went flying into Koshi, who went flying back into a tree. Doshi had a perfect landing.

Koshi, looking dazed, jumped off the tree and ground pounded Doshi’s tail. Doshi’s response to this was to throw an egg at the side of Koshi’s head, and Koshi fell over. Doshi was right above Koshi now, but she kicked his foot, causing him to trip. This left Koshi enough time to get up, when Doshi hit her with another egg in the face. They both got up and faced each other. Koshi charged at Doshi, but he sidestepped and tripped Koshi.

“Let’s see how you like this,” shouted Koshi. She rolled over and got under Doshi, and he fell over, landing on his nose. Koshi got up and kicked him in the direction of Soda Lake. She ran over and kicked him again, and he rolled to a cliff with Soda Lake under it. Koshi tried kicking him over, but he grabbed on to the edge.

“So this is how it will be.” He laughed. “I didn’t want to use this, it might wreck your pretty face.”

“Ew. Don’t ever call me pretty again, ugly dark dude.”

“SHADOW POWER!!!” Doshi’s body began glowing purple. His body reeked of shadow. He began flying, and he flew up to land. “This is my true power.”

“I’ll use my true power also.” Koshi pulled out a copy of Harry Potter 3 and summoned Buckbeak. (For those who don’t know, Buckbeak is a Hippogriff.) The creature charged at Doshi, but he dodged and landed. The purple spread to Buckbeak, and Buckbeak went flying backwards into a tree. It got up and charged again, and this time Doshi tossed it into the lake.

“Ha, and for you, blue gal. I’ll smash you into a tree also.”

“I still have one more thing to summon,” replied Koshi. “And if you thought that one was though, wait until you meat, Mr. Lupin.”

“Great, I don’t want to fight some teacher. Give me something hard.”

“Teacher. Ha! I’m not using his teacher form.” Koshi summoned the beast. The were-beast. Mr. Lupin the Werewolf.

“I regret not reading that series. No matter,” said Doshi as he flew up into the air.

“I forgot about the part where you fly. I feel so stupid,” said Koshi as she hit herself in the face.

“It’s not too bad, I wouldn’t mind having a werewolf as a girlfriend.”

“I’m not your girlfriend! And I’m not a werewolf!”

“Yet,” replied Doshi, grinning.

Koshi turned around. “Nice doggy, nice doggy. Staaaay. Good boy!” Koshi turned and ran, but the wolf cut her off, and started closing in on her as she stepped back. She kept stepping back until Doshi spoke.

“Watch out for the lake,” yelled Doshi. “You don’t want your looks getting ruined by water, would you?”

“Shut up!” hissed Koshi. “Although, I don’t get it. The next full moon isn’t for another four days.”

“Maybe he’s an early-bird. They’re the ones who catch the worm.”

“You’re still not helping.”

“I’m not on your team. Why should I help you?”

“You are so dead.” Koshi turned her attention back to the werewolf, who was really close now. He barked, and nibbled on her arm. He decided he didn’t like the taste of Yoshi, so he turned around, but Doshi used his shadow power to throw him into the water. Because that scattered his focus, he fell to the ground.

“Don’t worry, you don’t have to tell Daisy for another four days, if you don’t die.” With that he lifted her off her feat and smashed her into a nearby tree, ko-ing her. He went off to find Larry.

When Koshi and Doshi left, Daisy and Larry got into a fighting position, waiting for the other to strike. Larry went into his shell and charged at Daisy, but she countered by whacking him with her tennis racket. He charged again, but this time he curved around a tree, and he hit. Daisy lost her balance, and that was enough for Larry to strike again with his own tennis racket.

“Had enough?” said Larry.

“I’m just beginning,” said Daisy. She pulled out a heart shield and put it on. Then she ran at Larry, but he jumped underground. Daisy got an upside-down flower to eat him, and then it twisted around and spat him out. Larry was shot in the air, then came down slashing at Daisy.

“Give it up, Princess,” Larry called.

“Why should I?” asked Daisy.

“Because I am superior.”

“In what way?”

“You’re gonna pay for that!” Larry shouted as he jumped at her. Midair, he spun around and retreated into his shell, and landed on Daisy.

“Crystal Smash!” cried Daisy as she used that attack. Larry was shot backwards and stunned for a second.

“How ‘bout we finish this fair and square in a tennis match?” said Larry, dazed.

“No. The readers want a fight, and they’ll have a fight.”

“You’re gonna die, fourth wall breaker!!!” Larry shouted. He found a Piranha Plant and threw a Mega Shroom at it. It grew until it was huge. Very huge. It bent down and whapped Daisy into a tree.

“I have my own special weapon,” groaned Daisy. She pulled out the Earth Orb.

“I knew you had that. No matter, I shall take it from you.”

Daisy’s plan was to use the vines crawling up the Piranha Plant to choke it, but instead they were giving it more power.

“Princess, you should take chemistry sometime. It might help with your battle strategies,” said Larry. The plant whapped Daisy again, this time harder than the last.

“Owwww,” moaned Daisy. The plant was about to whap her again, but Daisy jumped up onto a big flower, then onto the back on the plant. The plant’s head then hit itself on the back of a nearby rock.

“That hurt!” Daisy cried. “How do you steer this thing?”

The plant went on thrashing, and Larry started laughing. Then Daisy learned how to drive the plant, and had the plant crash into Larry.

Both Larry and the plant were out cold, and Daisy was thrown off the plant during the crash. She was still okay, but a little dusty. Just then, Doshi ran into the clearing.

“You beat him?” he said in surprise. Daisy put a flower shield around him using the orb. The shield wouldn’t break until Larry woke up.

Daisy found Koshi, and then threw water from a nearby pool on her to wake her up.

“Hi,” said Daisy. “How was the fight?”

“Okay, but it was hard. He started flying using shadow, and I couldn’t beat him,” said Koshi.

“What’s that brown, furry lump in the water?”

“Nothing, just a beast that I summoned and Doshi threw in the water. Let’s get on the next boat out of here.

They did just that.

Chapter 4: The return

Professor Toad was giving the final exams in his classroom when Daisy entered. “Class is dismissed early, and the exam will be finished tomorrow,” called the professor. Klobbel let out a sigh of relief.

The class left the room, and one of the students said, “I wonder what Daisy is doing with our teacher.”

One of the other student said, “It doesn’t matter, if we get extra dorm time, then I’m fine with it.” Again, the Fearsome 4 stayed back and listened.

“I found the Earth Orb, but Larry Koopa, son of Bowser, tried to take it from me,” said Daisy.

“So the Koopas are after it also? You cannot let them get the Orbs, or else they could takeover the world.”

“I won’t. Do you know where the next one is?”

“No, I do not. I’ll take this Orb and use it to decode the next part. Come back early tomorrow morning…” The professor stopped, noticing Koshi for the first time. “So you got a Yoshi to join your quest. I would go around town and ask them if they want to join you.”

“Let’s go, Daisy, after we find someone we can get extra supplies,” said Koshi.

Outside, the day was sunny and peaceful. They walked over to the castle, and Toad came running up to them.

“Toad!” shouted Daisy. “Why are you in Sarasaland?”

“I was taking a stroll, and I was talking to Professor Toad earlier. He told me everything, and he said you weren’t back yet. I went out to eat, then I came here to wait for you, but you beat me here. So, I was wondering if I could join you.”

“Okay Toad,” answered Daisy.

“Yay,” said Toad.

Larry walked into the throne room with Doshi.

“Larry!” Bowser shouted. “Why are you with that flit?!”

“I hate Mario,” said Doshi. “And I don’t like you calling me flit.”

“He helped me try to get the Orb, King Dad,” stuttered Larry.

“She teamed up with a different Yoshi, and I beat her.”

“And Daisy beat both of us.”

“I don’t want to hear your life story!” shouted Bowser. “Fine, the Yoshi can stay, but if he causes any trouble he’s out of here. Got that?”

“Yes, King Dad sir.”

“I take it you didn’t get the Orb.”

“No, King Dad.”

“LUDWIG!!! GET DOWN HERE NOW!!!!” shouted Bowser.

“Is he always like this?” whispered Doshi.

“Yes,” replied Larry.

Ludwig came into the room. “What is it, King Dad sir?”

“Stop calling me sir!” said Bowser, shouting again. “Have you figured out what or where the next gem is?”

“No, King Dad si…” replied Ludwig. “Did Larry and his friend find the gem?”

“No,” said Larry.

“Well then, it will be harder to decode it. I’ll have it ready tomorrow morning.”

“Fine, as soon as you figure it out, come down here and call on the speaker.”

“Got it, King Dad.”

“Good,” said King Bowser Koopa, smiling.

Meanwhile, in a dark and scary place that I won’t tell you the name of…

“Master, I have failed to protect the gem and kill the Girl and Friend,” said a black Ninji, the same one from earlier, but wearing a different color.

“You failed!” shouted a dark figure.

“Sorry Master, a dino fell on my head.”

“I don’t believe you,” hissed the figure. “No matter. To help you in your efforts, I give you this sword. If you lose this sword of darkness, you shall be terminated. Am I clear?”

“Yes, master of all things evil.”

“Then go guard the next Orb, and make sure to kill the Girl and Friend.”

What is the next Orb? Where is the next Orb? Who is the master of all things evil? Why does he want to kill Daisy? Who will join the party next? Will you find this out next time? Tune in next time to find out.
