Act 3- Part 1:
Yoshi vs. Kemak, the Flopside Version Kamek
Our heroes have
just made it out of the forest and to Merlon’s house. They go inside and
find him meditating. Mario walks over to him and taps him. Merlon opens
his eyes and greets them.
"So, did you
get the Star?" he asks.
Mario reaches
into his bag and takes it out.
"Splendid! Now
we can locate the next one!"
Psy Guy closes
his eyes and quickly finds the next one. "I see a giant castle in the middle
of the forest. That’s all I can see," says Psy Guy.
"I have never
seen a place like that before. You're going to have to find this one without
my help," says Merlon.
"Don't worry,
we should be able to find it," Yoshi says confidently.
"Let’s-a go!"
says Mario.
They rush out
the door, but they are not alone. From behind the house, a Magikoopa wearing
all black is seen.
"Hehehehe… Now
that I know where the Star is, I can move ahead!" says Kemak. He disappears.
Meanwhile, Mario,
Psy Guy, and Yoshi are seen running through the forest. A Koopatrol wearing
gold is in the trees above them. He grabs a vine and swings off. Eventually
he makes it to a castle. He walks inside and goes up to a big Koopa with
horns, spikes on his shell, and spiky wristbands.
"Sir," says the
Koopatrol, "I have just found some intruders. Should I send my troops in
to destroy them?"
The giant Koopa
laughs evily. "Of course. Once you beat them, bring them here and throw
them in the dungeon!"
"Sir, yes sir!"
says the Koopatrol. He rushes off.
Back with our
heroes, they see a clearing up ahead, so they rush for it. But when they
reach the other side, they see a castle.
"Well, here it
is. Let’s get that Star Piece!" exclaims Psy Guy.
Before they move,
the front doors open and out come some Koopas and regular Koopatrols. Behind
them, the golden Koopatrol comes out.
"Okay men, show
no mercy to the intruders!" yells the Koopatrol.
The troops charge
toward our heroes.
"We have to get
out of here!" yells Yoshi.
"I agree. What
about you, Psy Guy? Psy Guy?" Mario turns and sees Psy Guy in a meditating
position. He then opens his eyes.
"I saw... a giant
Koopa with spikes, spiky wristbands, a spiky shell, and horns inside the
castle," says Psy Guy.
"... Bowser.
He is behind this! We have to get in that castle!" exclaims Mario.
Yoshi looks around.
Then he looks up and sees a vine. "I have an idea! Follow me!"
Yoshi grabs the
vine and climbs up. Mario and Psy Guy do the same. Eventually they reach
the top of the vine. Yoshi climbs off the vine and gets onto of the branch
the vine is on. Yoshi helps Mario and Psy Guy get up. Yoshi motions them
to follow him. They rush after Yoshi and find him at the edge of the branch.
The troops are very close to our heroes.
"All right, Psy
Guy, I need you to make a bridge of psychic energy so we can get across.
Mario, I need you to grab two vines. I'll be right back."
Yoshi rushes
off while Mario and Psy Guy do what they were told. After a few seconds,
Yoshi comes back with his cheeks puffed up. Mario has just finished getting
the vines, but Psy Guy is still working on the bridge.
"All right, give
me the vine," Yoshi says with his cheeks puffed up. Mario hands him the
vine. Yoshi then spits out tree sap over half of the vine. He then approaches
the edge of the branch. Then he tries to find a Koopa. He finally finds
one and uses the vine as a whip to grab the Koopa. The Koopa's shell gets
stuck to the vine due to the sticky tree bark. Yoshi brings back the vine
with the Koopa on it. He wraps some of it around him. He then motions Mario
to give him the other vine. He hands him the vine, and Yoshi wraps one
end of the vine to the rest of the one that the Koopa is wrapped in. Yoshi
then drags the Koopa to the end of the branch. He uses the vine as a whip
like last time, only this time, the Koopa is acting like an iron ball that
will knock the troops away. Yoshi whips at the troop and some of the troops
are knocked back. He repeats the process. The troops eventually fall back.
But just before our heroes can celebrate, the Koopatrols, along with the
golden one, come back, this time with cannons!
"... Psy Guy,
is that bridge ready?" asks Yoshi. He turns around and sees Psy Guy sending
a wave over the troops and straight at the castle door.
"Does that answer
your question?" Psy Guy replies.
"Let’s get moving!"
exclaims Mario. Our heroes run over the bridge of psychic energy. Unfortunately
the Koopatrols are firing the cannons at the bridge's underside. As each
cannonball hits, the bridge begins to break a little. Yoshi tries to stop
them, but a Koopatrol grabs his Koopa and pulls the vine out of Yoshi's
hand. Our heroes run faster, but the Koopatrols fire faster. Eventually
the part of the bridge behind them starts to break completely. Our heroes
run as fast as they can, but are not fast enough. The bridge breaks completely
and our heroes fall to their doom. As they hit the ground, the Koopatrols
surround them. Then Mario gets up. "There's only one way to get out of
this," Mario says.
Yoshi and Psy
Guy get up as well. "Fight!" they both say.
Mario reaches
in the bag for his hammer. He grabs it, then rushes up to a Koopatrol and
bashes him on the head. The armored Koopa gets dazed. Then Mario grabs
the spike on his head and throws him like an arrow at some of the other
Koopatrols. They are hit, and fall down. Meanwhile Yoshi eats some Koopatrols
and turns them into eggs. He throws the eggs at the Koopatrols’ stomachs.
They fall over, then Yoshi jumps and ground pounds on them. The Koopatrols
clutch their stomachs in pain. Psy Guy then lifts up the Koopatrols that
Yoshi ground pounded and forms them into a ball. He then sends them toward
the batch of Koopatrols. The ball rolls right through them, and they fall
over. Psy Guy then lifts them up and sends them over the horrizen. Every
Koopatrol has been taken care of except the gold one. Mario and friends
turn to him and the Koopatrol gets a worried look. "... This doesn't
look good," he states.
"Give up, there's
three of us, and only one of you!" exclaims Yoshi.
"Oh, are you
sure about that?" says a mysterious voice.
Mario's eyes
widen. "That voice."
From behind the
Koopatrol, a Koopa with spikes, horns, and spiky wristbands comes out.
"Bowser!" exclaims
Mario.
Bowser notices
Mario and laughs. "Bwhahahaha! If it isn't Mario and Yoshi! Plus some Shy
Guy. Looks like you came here to pick a fight! All right Volkner, help
me
"Volkner?" questions
Yoshi.
"That would be
me!" exclaims the golden Koopatrol.
"Why do they
call you Volkner?" asks Mario.
"Because I can
do this!" Volkner raises one of his hands and forms a ball of lightning
and throws it at Mario, who jumps just in time.
"..."
"I can say this.
This isn't going to be easy," says Psy Guy.
BOSS: Bowser
and Volkner
Bowser starts
out by breathing a fireball at Mario. Mario whacks the fireball back. Bowser
tucks into his shell and charges toward Mario. Mario whacks his shell and
sends him toward Volkner, who swings his arm and punches the shell and
sends it back toward Mario. Mario whacks Bowser with his hammer again at
full force and sends him back toward Volkner, who is hit and falls over.
Unfortunately Bowser is now out of control. Volkner slowly gets up and
notices Bowser going out of control. This gives him an idea. He jumps and
successfully lands on Bowser's shell, doing his best not to step on the
spikes. He then starts shooting lightning orbs everywhere. Psy Guy joins
and starts shooting energy orbs everywhere, trying to destroy the lightning
orbs.
Bowser finally
manages to stop himself and get up. Volkner, who climbs on Bowser's shoulder,
continues to fire orbs of lightning. Yoshi then comes in and eats the orbs.
He swallows a few, and the eggs that form are not regular eggs, but eggs
filled with 1,000 jolts of electricity. He throws one and hits Bowser.
He gets shocked and becomes mad. He starts to breathe more fireballs. Yoshi
throws two more eggs. They go right through the fireballs and hit Bowser
and Volkner. Bowser can only think of one word. PAIN! Volkner on the other
hand doesn't feel much due to the fact that he can use electricity to his
advantage. He absorbs the jolts of the egg that Yoshi threw at him to gain
more power. When done, he gives off a yellow glow. While he was absorbing
the energy, though, Mario noticed that the only part of Volkner that doesn't
glow is the spike on his armor helmet. That gives him an idea. He notices
that Yoshi still has one more egg.
"Yoshi, you have
to aim for the spike on Volkner’s helmet!" exclaims Mario.
"I can't aim
for something that small!"
"You have to
try! If you don't, we'll be done for!"
Yoshi turns and
sees Volkner forming a giant orb of lightning. Yoshi grabs the egg, aims
toward the spike on Volkner, and fires! Psy Guy notices that the egg will
fly above Volkner, so he runs toward Volkner and Bowser and levitates above
them. The egg is a few inches away from passing Volkner. Psy Guy forms
an energy ball and fires down on it when it makes it above his head. When
the egg hits, Volkner and Bowser get shocked by 1,000 jolts.
(Note: If you
are asking yourself why Bowser gets shocked, it’s because of Volkner standing
on him while wearing metal, which passes the electricity on to Bowser.
)
After getting
shocked, both Koopas fall over and are unconscious.
"How did you
know that my egg would miss?" asks Yoshi.
"I noticed by
the elevation of your arm," answers Psy Guy.
"... Oh. Well,
it’s a good thing you noticed."
"But what I want
to know is, how did you figure out that Yoshi had to aim for the spike?"
asks Psy Guy.
"I noticed that
his spike is the only thing that didn't glow when he was absorbing the
eggs’ electricity," answers Mario. "Now that that’s done, let’s find that
Star!"
They head for
the castle, but before they can enter, they hear laughter. They stop and
look around.
"Who just laughed?"
asks Yoshi.
"Could it be
Taboo?" questions Mario.
"No. It wasn't
him," says Psy Guy.
They hear the
laugh again. Mario and Psy Guy are having a hard time trying to identify
it. But Yoshi has heard that laugh before.
"I know who it
is," states Yoshi.
Mario turns to
him. "Who?"
"... Kemak!"
"Yahahahahahahaha!
You figured it out, eh? You're not as stupid as I thought you were!"
"SHOW YOURSELF!"
exclaims Yoshi.
"As you wish."
Suddenly, from
the front doors of the castle, Kemak appears above them on a broomstick.
"How did you
know?" asks Mario.
"I remember you
telling me about your adventure in Flip and Flopside. You told me that
Merlon and Nolrem sounded the same. I then remembered Kamek’s voice. I
also realized that Kemak is Kamek spelled backwards!"
"You’re not as
stupid as you look! Well, since you have dealt with my counterpart..."
He then raises his wand and fires bursts of energy at Mario and Psy Guy
to launch them back. He then forms a forcefield around Mario, Psy Guy,
Bowser, and Volkner. "I am battling you one on one!"
"Bring it!"
BOSS: Kemak the
Magikoopa
Yoshi lunges
and sends his tounge at Kemak. Kemak swiftly dodges the tongue and fires
geometric shapes at Yoshi. Yoshi jumps over them and hovers over to Kemak
and ground pounds him. Kemak is hit and falls off his broom and gets smashed
by Yoshi. Kemak disappears and reappears behind Yoshi and shoots fireballs
at him. Yoshi gets hit, but quickly gets back up. He turns and launches
his tongue, this time grabbing Kemak. He swings him around and smashes
him on the ground. He then throws him into a tree. Kemak is in terrible
pain, but gets up and quickly fires lightning orbs. Yoshi eats them and
forms them into electical eggs. He fires one at Kemak and he is shocked
with 1,000 jolts of electricity. Yoshi fires what he has left, but Kemak
dodges the rest.
He then reaches
into his robe and pulls out a broom. (Yes, he stores his broom in his robe.)
He flies fast and divebombs Yoshi. He hits him, but Yoshi clings on to
the broom. Kemak grabs his wand, turns, and fires at Yoshi. Yoshi jumps
and looks ahead and jumps off the broom. Kemak wonders way, then he turns
around to see he is flying right toward Bowser's Castle. He crashes into
the castle and falls and lands with a hard thud. The Pure Star also drops
out of his robe. Yoshi approches him and thinks he is down. Yoshi takes
the Star, then is hit in the back of the head and falls. He turns and sees
Kemak standing up.
"You're a tough
Magikoopa. You’re somehow tougher than Kamek," says Yoshi.
"You're not too
bad youself," Kemak says, "but your game ends here!"
Kemak raises
his wand and the tip of it is lighting up. When it is fully lit, he points
it at Yoshi.
"Goodnight, Yoshi."
He fires a giant
beam and it hits Yoshi. Yoshi is sent flying into the forcefield and hits
it hard. He drops the Pure Star. Kemak approches him and grabs it.
"AHAHAHA! I got
the Pure Star! Time to go back to the castle!"
Kemak disappears
and the forcefield disappears.
"YOSHI!" exclaims
Mario. He rushes toward him and makes sure he's all right. Psy Guy rushes
toward Mario to help.
"Is he all right?"
asks Psy Guy.
"He's hurt pretty
badly, but he should be okay," says Mario. "Let’s hurry back to Merlon’s
house."
They rush back
toward Merlon's, but just as they leave, Bowser wakes up.
"Uggg. That was
rough." He looks around and sees that Mario has left. "But I must get revenge!
I'm coming for you, Mario!"
Bowser gets up
and goes in the direction Mario, Psy Guy, and a hurt Yoshi went. Just as
he leaves, Volkner wakes up.
"That was intense."
He looks around and sees Bowser is gone. "Bowser! Bowser! He must've gone
back inside the castle."
Volkner goes
inside and trys to find Bowser.
Inside Merlevil's
castle, Taboo, Spike, and Mechanic Guy are awaiting alongside their master
for Kemak to return. Then Kemak appears on his platform and everyone turns
to him.
"So?" questions
Merlevil.
Kemak holds up
the Pure Star. "It was easy, until I had a run in with Mario and his friends.
But, I won the battle against Mario's dino friend, the one they call Yoshi."
"Bwhahahahahaha!
Excellent job, Kemak. Hand over the Star!" exclaims Merlevil.
Kemak hands the
Star over and Merlevil puts it in a glass case.
"Now no one will
be able to get ahold of them. Anyway, you guys should learn something from
Kemak.
Kemak's cohorts
grumble at him and head for the door, leaving Kemak with Merlevil.
"So, now that
you're back, I figure you should perform that spell of yours'," says Merlevil.
"You took the
words out of my mouth," says Kemak. He disappears and reappears with a
cauldren filled with a green substance. He chants some magic words and
the cauldren starts to shake. Then a figure rises from the cauldren. The
figure has a mustache and is wearing a green hat with a backwards green
L, a green shirt, black overalls, black shoes, gray gloves, and a black
mask and green scarf. The figure then laughs evily.
"Hehehehe. I
have been reborn!"
"Bwhahahahahaha!
Another excellent job, Kemak. You have brought back... MR. L!"
"It is my pleasure,
sir. Now, Mr. L, me, my leader, and my cohorts are trying to get ahold
of these things called the Pure Stars. There are ten of them, and we only
have one. Our enemy, Mario, has two, and there are seven left out there.
We need your help to collect them so we can resurrect a powerful being
to help us conquer the world. So, can you help us?" explains Kemak.
"Hehehehe. Of
course I can."
Both Kemak and
Mr. L turn to see Merlevil searching for the next Star.
"I saw the Star.
It is somewhere in Boo Village. I would send Taboo, but I think Mr. L could
use a little workout."
"I shall not
fail you!" says Mr. L. He rushes off.
"He shall also
be finding a little surprise for him at the castle’s entrance," says Kemak.
“I used my magic to make him another Brobot!" exclaims Kemak.
They both laugh
evily, but Taboo is seen peeking through a crack in the door to this room.
He turns and shuts the door and goes back to the other two.
Act 3- Part 2:
The Secret Alliance
"I overheard
Kemak and Merlevil talking. He seems to favor Kemak more than any of us!"
exclaims Taboo.
"Hmmmm, that
hurts. How can someone favor one minion over the others?" questions Mechanic
Guy.
"I say we do
something about this!" exclaims Spike. "Let’s go in there and beat up Merlevil!"
Spike goes for
the door, but is stopped by Mechanic Guy. "He is way more powerful than
we are. He'll mop the floor with us," explains Mechanic Guy.
"You are forgetting
who I am," Spike says. "I was once the Glitz Pit’s number one fighter!
So I think I know what I'm dealing with!"
"No!" exclaims
Taboo. "What we must do is form a secret alliance! An alliance that Kemak,
Merlevil, and Mr. L don't even know about!"
"Who's Mr. L?"
asks Spike.
Taboo explains
what he saw Kemak do with a cauldren filled with something that brought
Mr. L to life.
"Oh."
"Anyway, with
us three teaming up, we can overthrow those guys, take control of the Pure
Stars, and we will be able to take control of the beast that is trapped
under this island! We can also get revenge on that no good Mario! So, who's
with me?"
Mechanic Guy
and Spike look at each other, then nod. "We're in!" they both say.
"Excellent!"
"I say that since
you thought of it, you should be the leader," says Mechanic Guy.
"I agree," says
Spike.
"Thanks guys.
Now, I overheard Merlevil saying that the next Pure Star is somewhere in
Boo Village. Merlevil sent Mr. L, and Kemak said something about making
him a giant robot."
"Let me go! I'll
show Mr. L who has the better robot!" exclaims Mechanic Guy.
"Okay, I like
your confidence, but first of all, we have to keep this alliance a secret.
If Mr. L sees us interfering with his plans, he might go and blab to Merlevil.
And two, I noticed you don't have your jetpack, whats up with that?"
It’s true, Mechanic
Guy always had his jet pack with him to get around, but not this time.
"Well, that battle
with Mario and Co. must've done something to it, because once I came back,
it started going crazy and I had to shut it down. I have to repair it and
add some upgrades."
"Okay, you work
on that. Spike, I need you to go to the entrance of the forest that leads
to Boo Village and try to get Mario's Pure Stars.
"How will I do
that?" asks Spike.
"Bribe them with
this!" says Taboo as he presses a button. The ground opens and a cage pops
up. Inside it is a green man.
"Ohhhhh."
"Yes. You will
tell Mario to give you his Pure Stars for the safety of Luigi. But if he
doesn't... it's bye bye Luigi!" explains Taboo. He then turns to Mechanic
Guy. "Do you have anything that could give Spike an edge?"
"I do. I'll be
right back." He rushes toward his lab and grabs what looks like a surfboard
and comes back and shows them.
"This is my hoverboard.
To turn it on, put your foot on the blue button. To turn, lean left to
go left or lean right to go right. The green and red panels at the tip
help you with speed. If you put your foot on the green panel, you will
speed up, and if you leave it off, you'll go at a pretty decent speed.
Only put your foot on the red panel in case of an emergancy. The red panel
will activate the rocket boosters, which will give you a speed of over
50 miles per hour," explains Mechanic Guy. "Think you can do it?" he questions
as he hands the board over to Spike.
"’Course I can!"
"Perfect. Now
grab Luigi and head for the entrance to Ghost Forest. That is the path
to Boo Village." Taboo waves his stub of a hand and the cage door unlocks.
Spike walks forward and grabs Luigi. He then jumps on the hoverboard and
rides it to Ghost Forest.
"Hehehehehehehe.
This can't fail!" exclaims Taboo. "Now, Mechanic Guy, get to your lab and
fix your jetpack. Also, try to make something that will help us out in
the future if Spike fails."
"You got it,
Taboo," says Mechanic Guy as he rushes back to his lab. Taboo then floats
toward his room, where he will make up new plans.
A little bit
of Spike's past has been revealed, and Taboo has formed an alliance that
Kemak, Merlevil, and Mr. L don't know about. Will Taboo's plan work? Will
Spike be able to get ahold of Mario's Pure Stars? Will Yoshi be all right?
And how will Mario react when he finds out Mr. L is alive, and is not a
hypnotized Luigi? Find out in the next act of Mario and Psy Guy: The Ten
Pure Stars.
