It is a stormy day in Dark Land, and everyone in Bowser's Keep is bored. The Koopalings have tried to find stuff to do to pass the time. Larry is watering his plants, Morton and Roy are practicing in the gym, Wendy is gazing at herself in the mirror, Iggy and Lemmy are playing a videogame, Ludwig is working on a new invention (hopefully one that doesn't blow up), and Bowser and Bowser Jr. are in the throne room trying to think of a good plan to takeover the Mushroom Kingdom. (Note: When you are thinking of what the Koopalings look like, think of their New Super Mario Bros. Wii design.) Kamek walks in on Bowser and Jr.
"Hello Sire. What are you doing?"
"Trying to come up with a plan to takeover the Mushroom Kingdom. But I can't think of ANYTHING!"
"Sire, I hate to say this, but you have tried to take over the kingdom so many times. Ever since General Guy quit to become the Mushroom Kingdom general, things have gone down hill. He and his army have beaten every one of our troops."
"You’re right, what we need is a new general. Kamek, I want you to start making fliers!"
"Yes sir!"
Kamek rushes off and heads for his room. Bowser laughs, as does Jr.
But outside in the cold rain, a Koopatrol is seen. This is not your ordinary Koopatrol, though. This Koopatrol has black armor, a dark gray shell with gray spikes, red eyes, gray skin, and black gloves.
The Koopatrol looks ahead and sees Bowser's Keep. "The time has finally come," he says.
He walks toward the Keep, but as he approaches the bridge to the Keep, two Koopatrol guards see him and charge toward him. "Hey, no one is supposed to be around here!"
"It's all right. I just want to have a word with King Bowser," says the black-armored Koopatrol.
The Koopatrols look at each other. "All right, but don't try anything funny," says one of them.
They both grab his arms and escort him to the throne room. When they reach a big red door, they knock and a loud voice is heard. "ENTER!"
The Koopatrols go in and approach Bowser. "Sir, this Koopatrol says he wanted to see you."
Bowser looks at the Koopatrol. "What’s your name?"
"Basilisx."
"And why are you here?" questions Bowser.
"I am here to join the Koopa Troop."
Bowser turns to Jr. and they nod. "Dismissed!" yells Bowser.
"Yes sir!" say the Koopatrol guards. They leave and head back to their post. Bowser and Jr. turn to Basilisx.
"So," says Jr, "what can you do?"
"Well..."
Just then, Kamek rushes in, carrying a stack of fliers. "Sire, I have just finished the fliers, so..." He turns and sees Basilisx.
"Hold it, Kamek, we might not need them. Let’s see what he can do first. Make him up a couple of Mario dummies."
Kamek swings his wand and five Mario dummies appear. Basilisx spins and three nails come out of his knuckles on both hands. He rushes toward the closest dummy and slashes right through it. He then does the same with the others.
"Not bad," says Bowser. "Kamek, poof up something harder."
Kamek nods and makes stone Mario dummies. Basilisx lets out a little chuckle and slashes right through all of them with ease.
"Impressive, but how do you do against steel?"
"Let’s find out."
Kamek poofs up five steel Mario dummies. Basilisx charges at all of them and slashes all of them. He then cuts a steel model of himself from the last one. Bowser then claps, as do Jr. and Kamek. "Bravo! Kamek, we don't need those fliers. We have ourselves a new general!"
"Sire, are you sure? He might be very powerful, but doesn't he have to go through training for at least a week before he can become a general?" asks Kamek.
"Oh, yeah. I am sorry, Basilisx, but Kamek is right. You must go through training for at least one week."
"Very well," says Basilisx.
Then, Iggy rushes in. Basilisx turns and sees a tall Koopa with tall green hair, glasses, and a green shell with a purple rim around the spikes. "Hey King Dad, I'm just about to go for my monthly attack on the Mushroom Kingdom."
"Hold on, Iggy, before you go, I must introduce you to the newest member of the Koopa Troop. Basilisx, this is one of my sons, Iggy Koopa."
Iggy and Basilisx approach each other and shake hands.
"Nice to meet ya."
"Likewise."
"Good, now, good luck, Iggy."
"I don't need luck," he says as he rushes to the airship docks.
"Uh, excuse me, Bowser, but may I tag along with Iggy?" asks Basilisx.
"Umm... I'm going to need to know why."
"Well, I'd actually like to see how he fights and tell him where he needs improvements."
"Hmmm... Okay. Just take a left, and keep going."
"Thank you, King Bowser."
Basilisx rushes off and takes a left. He goes down a hallway and finally makes it to the docks. He looks around and sees Iggy about to board his airship. Basilisx rushes over. "Hey!"
Iggy turns and sees Basilisx rushing toward him. "Oh, you’re Basilisx. What brings you here?"
"Well, I asked King Bowser if I could come with you. He said it was all right."
"But why do you want to come?"
"Well, I just want to see your fighting style and see where you need improvement."
"... All right. Let’s go."
Iggy and Basilisx board the ship and Iggy starts it up and they head for the Mushroom Kingdom. (Note: When you are imagining the airships, think of the airships from Super Mario Galaxy.) As they head for the Kingdom, Basilisx looks around and notices they are moving at a slow pace. "Why are we flying so slow?" he asks.
"This stupid engine of mine. Come with me." Iggy puts his ship on autopilot and escorts Basilisx to the engine room. Inside, he sees a big, really old, beat up engine. "I keep asking Dad if I can get a new one, but he keeps saying it's fine."
"If I were your father, I would buy a new one right away, or steal one, whichever one floats your boat."
"Yeah, I have been looking for one to steal, but I can never find one."
"Hmmm..."
Just then Iggy realizes that he has forgotten that he put the ship on autopilot. He rushes back to the control room and finds they are on the verge of entering the Mushroom Kingdom. Iggy turns off the autopilot and lands the airship a few feet away from the entrance to Toad Town. Iggy grabs his scepter and takes out a cage with a big blanket over it. Snoring is heard from inside. Iggy takes the blanket off and Basilisx cannot believe what he sees. Inside is a giant Chain Chomp with a basket on its chain. (Note: This is from the second time you battle Iggy in NSMBW.) Iggy opens the cage and the Chain Chomp wakes up and slowly hops out and the cage. Iggy jumps in the basket and commands the Chain Chomp to attack Toad Town. The Chomp charges toward Toad Town, as Basilisx follows Iggy.

Mario and Luigi are sitting in their house, drinking some fresh coffee and having lunch. Then, a knock is heard. Mario goes and opens the door and sees Toad panting on the ground. "Toad, what’s the matter?" asks Mario.
"It's... Iggy Koopa. He attacking the town," says Toad.
Mario turns to Luigi. "It is that time if the month again. Luigi, you go and see what he's doing. I need to grab some power-ups."
"Will-a do," says Luigi as he rushes out the door. He jumps in the pipe leading from his house to Toad Town, and finds Iggy and his Chomp wreaking havoc. "Well, well, well. If it isn't Iggy Koopa. I haven't seen you in a while. Me and Mario took down Morton last week, now we have to deal with you."
"I hope you’re ready for some action, because I'm about to deliver it! By the way, where is Mario?"
"He won't be long, but right now, I am going to deal with you!"
BOSS: Iggy Koopa
Iggy swings his scepter and fires a fast-moving magic fireball. Luigi jumps out of the way and takes out his hammer and goes for the Chomp. But the Chomp quickly moves out of the way and Luigi misses, leaving Iggy an opening to attack. He fires and hits Luigi. Luigi is knocked back and hits the wall of a house.
From around the corner, Basilisx is seen watching carefully. "Hmmm, I wonder..." he says as he rushes off to who knows where.
Meanwhile, Luigi is hit again and is flung into the sky. Iggy then jumps and does his famous spinning attack. He hits Luigi and sends him to the ground, hard, I might add. Luigi hits the ground, and Iggy lands back in the basket the Chomp is carrying. Iggy then does his laugh from NSMBW. "This is just too easy! Time to finish you off. SICK HIM, BOY!"
The Chain Chomp charges toward Luigi, who is motionless. Then, a blur goes by and Luigi is gone. Iggy stops his Chomp and looks around to find Caped Mario carrying his injured brother. He feeds him a 1-Up and Luigi gets back on his feet. He looks and sees Caped Mario. "Thanks, Bro."
"No problem, now take this and let’s beat that Iggy!" says Mario as he hands Luigi a Fire Flower.
Luigi eats it and becomes Fire Luigi. The Bros. charge toward Iggy and his Chomp. Luigi unleashes a brigade of fireballs at the Chomp, who gets a little ticked off and starts going after Luigi. Iggy gets mad at the Chomp and tries to stomp him, but can't. So from behind, Mario comes and jumps on Iggy's head. Iggy is dazed for a bit and looks to see Mario floating in front of him.
"You'll pay for that plumber!" Iggy fires his scepter and Mario moves out of the way. The magic fireball hits the Chomp’s chain and breaks. The basket Iggy is in can no longer move. The Chomp continues to go after Luigi. Luigi then runs toward the Toad Town pond and guides the Chomp there. He stops at the edge and jumps out of the way of the Chomp, who falls in and can't get out. Mario then grabs Iggy.
"We might not have been able to get Morton to the jail cell, but we sure can take you there."
"No, please don't!" yells Iggy as he is being dragged away.
Then, from behind Mario, a dark gray shell hits him and knocks him over. Iggy then quickly gets up and grabs the basket. The shell is Basilisx's. Mario turns and sees him. "Who... Who are you?" asks Mario.
"That doesn't concern you!" he says. He then jumps toward the pond and dives in to grab the Chain Chomp, who is rather large. Basilisx comes out of the pond, holding it above his head. He then turns to Iggy. "Come on, Iggy, let’s get out of here!"
Basilisx and Iggy run toward the exit of Toad Town and hop on Iggy's airship. Luigi then turns to Mario. "You okay, Bro?"
"Yeah, but who was that Koopatrol?" asks Mario as he gets up.
"I guess we'll never know," says Luigi.

Back on the airship, Iggy and Basilisx are seen putting the Chain Chomp back in its cage. Iggy then turns to Basilisx. "If you hadn't knocked Mario in the back, I would've been put in the slammer, so thanks."
"Hey, I couldn't let one of Bowser's kids get captured. Hey, I've got something to show you."
Basilisx guides Iggy to the engine room. Upon entering, Iggy sees a shiny new engine.
"How did you get that?"
"While you were battling, I snuck away and hijacked an engine from the Toad Town shopping center. Nobody knows that it's missing."
"I didn't think engines would be there."
"It was actually the first day they were selling them. So, let’s test this bad boy out."
They rush back to the control room, and Iggy turns it on. The airship flies up into the sky and heads back toward Bowser's Keep at a pretty fast pace.
"This is incredible. Thanks, Basilisx."
"It was nothing."
Within five to ten minutes, they reach Bowser' Keep. Bowser is waiting at the dock. Iggy lands the ship and exits. He approaches Bowser. "Sorry Dad, but I failed," says a sad Iggy.
Bowser hangs his head. "All right, just go and get some rest. Dinner will be ready in an hour."
Iggy nods and rushes off. Then, Basilisx comes out of the airship. "So, how well did Iggy fight?"
"He wasn't too bad. He was doing fine until Mario saved his brother from death."
"Hmmm. All right, go and explore the Keep. If you need anything, just ask one of my kids, Kamek, or my minions."
For the rest of the day, Basilisx explores the Keep. He finds some interesting things, but doesn't bother with them. He meets with Morton, Roy, Wendy, Larry, Lemmy, and Ludwig. He spies a little with Larry, watches one of Lemmy's tricks, helps Ludwig, and spars in the gym with Roy. He really isn't fond of Morton or Wendy though.
Later that evening, he and the rest of the Koopalings are called down for dinner. After dinner, everyone goes to bed. Basilisx goes to the Koopatrol bedroom and finds an empty bed, but he doesn't go to sleep just yet. He lays on his bed quietly and laughs.
"Yes, today was a perfect day. I finally joined the Koopa Troop. My plan is going along perfectly. Tomorrow is a new day... a new day to continue my plan."
