The Beginning:
A mansion in Grass Land, Sunny’s room, August 11, 2003 5:30 AM
Sunny: *yawn* That was some birthday party… I just wish… *sigh* HE could’ve been there… I just wish I could tell him who and what I am… *sobs*
Onyx: Cheer up, Master! I have a feeling he’ll meet you soon. :)
Sunny: *stops crying* Thank you… I’m glad I found you in the egg so many years ago.
Onyx: I’m glad too. So what shall we do today?
Sunny: I don’t know… maybe I’ll visit Larry at his dad’s… or do some go-karting…
Onyx: The go-kart arena doesn’t open until 10:00.
Sunny: Oh yeah, that’s right.
Onyx: And you have to use your masked sorceress form when near Dark Land… Bowser would probably handfast you to Larry on sight, or even worse… *shudders* I don’t want to think about it…
Sunny: :3 Then don’t. I’m always careful when it comes to stuff like that. :3
Onyx: *chuckles* That, and awfully bold. I’ll get your dress and stuff ready.
Sunny: Ok.
2 hours later, in the foyer…
Sunny: Well, I’m going out… for my first full day as an 11-year-old… my first full day of new adventures!
A lady in a green dress like a floor-length version of Tinkerbell’s runs up to Sunny.
Lady: Dear, you forgot your crystal orb.
She hands over the clear, spherical object.
Sunny: *anime sweatdrop* Crud. I never go anywhere without this. Thanks, Mom! :D
Onyx: Moira, how DO you always catch stuff others miss?
Moira: I’m a Capricorn. I can’t help it! :3
While they carry
on the conversation, Sunny is peering into the orb, seeing what the day
will bring. Just then, the phone rings in the main servants’ quarters.
Act 1: A Call To Action: The Sisters’ Request
Onyx: I’ll get it!
Moira stops her.
Moira: No. I’ll get it, because Peach was supposed to call me this morning.
Onyx: Of course.
Sunny: Mmm-hmm. Can I leave, please?
Onyx: Shh.
Sunny puts the orb in her backpack and crosses arms.
Moira (in Onyx‘s
room): Hello? Yes, this is she. Yeah. Uh-huh. Mmm-hmm.
Yes. Yep. Oh,
you need to talk to her? Oh, it’s urgent? She’ll be right there. Hold,
please. Sunny!
Sunny: Yes?
Moira: One of
Peach’s sisters, Aurora, is on the phone. She said that
she really needs
to talk to you. And fast.
Sunny: Really? I wonder what’s up.
She walks to where her mother is and picks up the handset.
Sunny: Hello? Hi, Aurora! What’s up? WHAT?! Peach is in trouble??? In the Real World? I’ll be there right away! Huh? But that’s in the middle of nowhere! I mean, southern Nevada? *sigh* FINE! I’ll meet you there. Bye… *hangs up*
Onyx (walking in): I suppose it didn’t go well?
Sunny shakes her head slowly.
Onyx: Your broomstick.
Onyx hands over the cleaning tool.
Moira: Your staff.
She hands over the rod.
Onyx: Your sense of humor. X3
Sunny: >:( Very funny.
Sunny leaves the big house and flies away, steaming.
Sunny: Ooooh,
Bowser is REALLY going to pay for taking my fun time… MAN is HE going to
get it!
Act 2: Giga Guard
After 1 hour of flying through shortcuts and warp pipes…
Sunny: Finally! Now where are these guys?
She looks around, sees an abandoned building, and then lands.
Sunny: I guess this is the place…
She looks through a window and sees Peach bound and gagged to a chair in one of the rooms.
Sunny: Wow! I guess twin instinct works after all.
She looks into another room.
Sunny: But… the security inside looks pretty tight. I guess I’ll have to step it up a bit.
Koopatrol: YOU THERE!!!
Sunny turns around nervously.
Goomba: WITCH GIRL!
Sunny’s face turns bright red.
Sunny: >:( I’m a sorceress!!! I just can’t levitate on my own yet.
Koopatrol: Who cares? His Patientness is expecting a ransom call.
Sunny: HA! Patient? Your boss doesn’t have as much patience as he has a brain!
Goomba: How dare you?! Giga Koopa!!! Attack!!!
A giant Koopa (no, not Hookbill) approaches.
Giga Koopa: ROOOOOOOOAAAAAAR!!!
Sunny: Ah. A challenge!
Giga Koopa vs. Sunny
Sunny flies on her broom and opens the battle with a laser hand attack, but the shot bounces off. She tries again, but with a fire blast, also to no avail.
Sunny: What?! What on Earth is protecting him?! I can’t strike out this time!
Koopatrol and Goomba: Destroy the witchling!
Sunny: FOR THE LAST TIME, I’M A- GYAAAA!!!
The youthful fighter is hit by a crazy claw attack.
Sunny: Dude!
The Koopatrol
and Goomba laugh, but accidentally reveal microchipped
cloth strips,
one tied on the Koopatrol’s arm, another under the Goomba’s shoe.
Sunny: So THAT’S what’s keeping him protected! I don’t have to destroy the structure at all! I just have to eliminate the foundation!
Peach: Mind if I help? ;)
Sunny: But how…?
Peach: (dodging a stomp) I escaped while Dr. Doof was watching the fight.
Aurora: She’s stretching it. I used a fireball to free her.
Peach: Let’s just finish them off…
Giga Koopa vs. Sunny, Aurora, and Peach
Sunny: (avoiding a headbutt) What can you do?
Peach: (floating down to avoid a fist swipe) I can use my brooch to call down a rain of silver stars to cause damage and break defenses, use lightning to damage and slow people down, and use my silver wand to put people to sleep.
Aurora: (blocking a headbonk with a gold star shield) Then why don’t you use those skills to prevent getting kidnapped?
Peach: My floating ability makes me slow with magic. X(
Aurora: What a- Ouch!
The elder sister is hit with a mega fist.
Sunny: Don’t get distracted! Focus on your targets!
Aurora and Peach: Right!
Sunny: Peach, you take the Goomba! Aurora, you handle the Koopatrol!
The sisters nod. Peach uses her silver star attack to subdue the Goomba, Aurora KOs the Koopatrol with gold shuriken stars, After 15 minutes of whittling away, Sunny dispatches the gargantuan Koopa.
BATTLE OVER
Act 3: Reborn: A Fairy’s Arrival
Sunny: Glad that’s over.
Aurora: Yeah. Want to come to the castle for a victory party? I’m baking a dozen Cornish hens.
Sunny: Duh, yeah! I LIVE for parties! And poultry.
Peach: Same here. So let’s go!
Before the 3 friends can get within 6 feet of the warp pipe, Bowser sneaks behind the group and attacks Sunny with fire breath.
Sunny: AAH!!!
Aurora and Peach: SUNNY!!!
Sunny: My mask!
She bends to pick it up and, seeing that it didn’t turn to ash, quickly puts it back on.
Sunny: You’ll pay for that!
Bowser: Not as much as you’ll pay for freeing Pinky!
Peach: (eyes filling with lightning) What did you just call me?
Sunny: (rolling eyes) Never mind. I’ll handle him.
Peach and her older sister nod and leave.
Bowser vs. Sunny
Bowser opens THE
battle with a blast of Fire Breath and a Bomber, but
Sunny blocks
both by twirling her broom like a propeller.
Bowser: Where’d you learn to do that?!
Sunny: *giggles* I just practiced. Now it’s my turn.
The youngling siren sorceress returns fire with a wind spell that knocks the Koopa King down on his back. When he’s back up, he sees a Ztar Blast coming straight for him from a gold Power Star Sunny is holding.
Bowser: OH-
Before Bowser can finish, the attack makes a direct hit and Bowser falls once more, unconscious, ending the battle. About 3 seconds later, he wakes up, but upon lifting his head and seeing that Sunny is still there, sitting and eating almonds, he stays down and closes his eyes.
Sunny: Well, better get back. There’s cake and Cornish hens with my name on them!
As soon as she gets up and turns her back to leave, Bowser gets up, takes a wand from his shell, and blasts Sunny. Weakened, he immediately teleports away. The girl emits a piercing screech that somehow reaches all the way to Peach’s Castle, and more importantly, the ears of the Star Sisters.
Aurora and Peach: SUNNY!!!
They leave immediately through a conjured warp pipe and return to the scene to find their friend with her mask fallen, her back bloodied, and the side of her face twisted in pain. Sunny then turns around to face the duo and collapses to the ground, unconscious.
Peach: Oh crud, what are we going to do?!
Aurora: Hmm… I think I have something in my spellbook that can help her…
She pulls from nowhere a book in gilded binding and skims until she gets to the middle of the book.
Aurora: Ah, here!
Peach: What?
Aurora: I found something in the book!
Peach takes a peek at the spell her sister is pointing to.
Peach: Oh, a collective spell… Wait, why do you want to use this one?
Aurora: *shakes her head* Because the blast Bowser fired at Sunny was a spell that wears away life energy. There’s no other way to save her.
Just when a single tear shows on the younger sister’s face, the elder calls her over to enact the ultimate healing magic. 14 agonizing seconds later, they are hovering beside each other over their rapidly deteriorating friend.
Aurora: Are you ready?
Peach nods.
Aurora: Then you need to float over there, across from me, for the spell to work.
She does so.
Aurora: Now, take my hands.
Peach holds her older sister’s outstretched hands.
Aurora: Now as I do, please close your eyes.
Peach: Yes.
She closes her tear-soaked lids, as Aurora closes her eyes as well.
Aurora: Now you must remain silent while I chant the spell that will transform this young girl from a decaying mortal into a fully healed fairy.
Peach solemnly nods her head.
Aurora: Focus your magic on Sunny.
Peach starts to focus deeply on her critically injured friend, and a wave of golden energy emanates from the elder while silver energy emits from the younger. After 1 hour of the incantation, the magic stops and the two sisters see their friend start to rouse.
Sunny: Ooooh… What happened…? I feel like I haven’t slept since the Big Bang.
Aurora: That’s
because you took a hefty amount of damage from Bowser.
While you were
unconscious, Peach and I healed you. But, with that healing, you were altered,
making you not quite the same girl you were before.
Peach: Long story short, you are no longer mortal. You are now a Fairy being like we are.
Sunny: So I’m a Fairy now, huh? If that’s true, then where are my wand and wings?
Aurora: (hair turning into fire) Sunny, it’s just a rumor that all Fairies have those things. The reason why that came about in the first place is because the first Fairy that appeared here had both. And-
Peach: Okay, before my sister goes kamikaze, I’d better say that one, after we get back, you’ll get your wand. Two, your wings have to be earned. Third, as you learn more magic, you’ll get stronger.
Sunny: So how do I get stronger?
Peach (while her sister is still recovering from the comment): You have to complete many major quests, getting stronger with each one successfully completed. One sign that you are getting stronger is that you will get your wings, or if you already have wings, they will change. When you get your wings, they’ll change 7 times as a novice, 5 times as Enchantix. If somehow your power goes beyond the 5th Enchantix, as a magical being, you will be very powerful indeed.
Sunny: Okay. Wait, before we leave, I have three questions. One, do Fairies have immortal souls as humans do? Two, can I turn someone from mortal to Fairy and back? And three, who was the first living Fairy?
Peach: Wow, good questions! Okay, one, yes we do have souls, it’s just that some don’t because they don’t believe in them; two, yes, but you have to use potions to do so if they’re not in extreme danger; and three, I don’t know.
Sunny: Crud.
Peach: But I did read about this legend that said the first Fairy in the multiverse had once been a girl that was the youngest of the first 13 Siren Sisters. Because she saved her lover’s life, she supposedly became the first of a new breed of God’s creatures known from then on as Fairies.
Sunny: Oh, wow.
Peach: Now, let’s have at that party, shall we?
Sunny: Thought you’d never ask. :)
The two friends leave, with the third trying to catch up.
Aurora: WAIT UP!!!
And so an old life ends and a new one begins.
