Previously on Mega Mario Party, we began our most wildest party ever, with the all-stars of the Mushroom Kingdom all competing to be the Grandmaster Party Star! The teams were formed and the surprise inclusion of Koopa Kid launched the party! Now here we are at Pyramid Park. Let the games begin!
Episode 2: Just Deserts
Ballyhoo: All right! Welcome to the first board, Pyramid Park! I call this mini game, “Just Deserts”!
Big Top: It’s a pun.
Ballyhoo: Most mini game titles are!
Waluigi: Just tell us what to do, already!
Ballyhoo: The partiers are always right! On this board, your goal is to steal the Stars from the different Chain Chomps around the board, then bring them to the sphinx!
Luigi: That’s it?
Ballyhoo: Yep! But believe me, it won’t be easy! One member of each team, step on up and hit the dice block! Lowest number has to steal from the Red Chomp!
Everyone gulps. Boo, Wario, and Peach step up to hit the dice blocks.
Boo - 9
Wario - 6
Peach - 4
Big Top: Pink n’ Yellow Brigade has to take from the Red Chomp!
Pink n’ Yellow Brigade: Awww…
Big Top: Zombie Fuzz 8 gets the one right next to one of the item shops, while Party Kings-
Luigi: THE Party Kings.
Big Top: … Party Kings get the remaining one.
Ballyhoo: Let the games begin!
*Zombie Fuzz 8*
Chomp: ARF, ARF, ARF, ARF, ARF, ARF!!!
Waluigi/Hammer Bro.: *gulp*
Boo: Let’s do this! So… how do we do this?
Blooper: Well presumably it’s behind the Chomp, somewhere in his house. So we’ll have to draw it out. Except it’s chained in. Mario, can you do something?
Mario shakes his head.
Blooper: Of course you can’t. Dry Bones, feel like contributing, buddy?
Dry Bones: I got nothing.
Waluigi: What if we knock it out?
Dry Bones: Yeah, not gonna happen…
Hammer Bro.: We could distract him with your bony body. Chomps like bones, right?
Dry Bones: I will hate you forever.
Blooper: A chance we’re willing to take.
Dry Bones: *gulp*
*The Party Kings*
Luigi: Err, nice Chain Chomp. Good Chain Chomp. Please don’t eat us.
Toad: I’m kinda scared…
Shy Guy: Me too.
Wario: Wa! You guys are wusses! C’mon Koopa Kid, Yoshi! We’ll show ‘em how it’s done!
Yoshi sticks his tongue out onto the Chomp.
Yoshi: AWAWAWAWAWAAAA!!!! HOT! METAL IN SUN ALL DAY, TONGUE BURNT!
Yoshi retracts his tongue, but now it droops out of his mouth.
Koopa Kid: Lame!
Shy Guy: Uhh…
Shy Guy tries to sneak over to the Chomp.
Chomp: BARKBARKBARKBARKBARK!!!
Shy Guy: Yaaaaaa!!!
Wario: I say we ram it!
Toad: But Yoshi proved that it’s too hot to touch! Like Fryguy!
Wario: I can always just punch it! I’m wearing gloves!
Luigi: Wario, you’re wearing the same kinds of gloves as me. These gloves still let you feel everything.
Wario: … Crud.
Koopa Kid: Lame!
*Pink n’ Yellow Brigade*
Birdo: What a hideous beast.
Red Chomp: RARARARARARARAR!!!
Peach: If only it were asleep.
Toadette: What do we do?
Daisy: I’m stumped.
Red Chomp: ARARARARARARARAR-
Daisy: Oh shut up already!
Daisy kicks the Chomp, causing it to start whimpering.
Daisy: Good boy.
Toadette/Birdo/Koopa: …………… Wow.
DK: THAT GIVE DK IDEA! HOO!
DK picks up the Red Chomp and throws it far away, ripping its Chain from its post and sending the Red Chomp flying.
DK: HANDS HOT, HANDS HOT!
Meanwhile at the lake…
Ballyhoo: Ah, what a refreshing pool!
Big Top: Yes it is.
The Red Chomp lands in the pool, making a tidal wave hit Ballyhoo, washing him away.
Ballyhoo: Whoa!
Peach: Yay, you did it, Donkey Kong!
Toadette: Awesome, now we can get the Star!
*The Party Kings*
Wario: Guys, look! The girls are already beating us!
Luigi: Well technically Donkey Kong and Koopa aren’t gir-
Wario: There’s no time! If that overgrown chimp can do it, so can I!
Wario rams the Chomp, causing it to cease barking. He then picks up the Chomp… and gets squashed underneath it.
Wario: HOT! HOT! AAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!
*Zombie Fuzz 8*
Dry Bones is in a tree while Hammer Bro. tries throwing hammers up at him.
Blooper: If we lose this, I’m blaming you!
Waluigi: Yeah, what he said!
Boo: Say, I have an idea!
Boo turns intangible, flies past the Chomp, turns tangible again, grabs the Star, and leaves the doghouse with the Star in the same way that he entered.
Hammer Bro.: Wow, I wish I thought of that!
Blooper: Ugh, now we’re losing because we didn’t think of the obvious solution!
Waluigi: I say we sabotage-
Dry Bones: What, and get in trouble?
Mario: Let’s-a go!
Blooper: He’s right, we can’t waste more time!
Everyone runs to the sphinx.
*The Party Kings*
Wario pops up from underground, inside the doghouse. He sees the Star and grabs it.
Wario: I-a got it! Wahahahaha!!!
He goes back underground, digs for a bit, and pops up outside the doghouse.
Wario: Hurry, to the sphinx!
Everyone runs there.
*Sphinx*
The Pink n’ Yellow Brigade runs up to the Sphinx and Toadette holds up the Star.
Sphinx: NO. I CANNOT ACCEPT IT UNLESS ALL PARTICIPANTS ARE HERE.
Koopa: Uh, where’s DK?
Everyone looks around.
Daisy: DK, where are you?!
DK’s voice: HANDS HOT, HANDS HOT!
Peach: There he is!
They notice that DK is still running around near the Red Chomp’s doghouse, waving his hands in the air.
Birdo: Get down here!
Suddenly Zombie Fuzz 8 runs up to the Sphinx, just barely beating The Party Kings. Boo holds up the star.
Sphinx: CONGRATULATIONS, ZOMBIE FUZZ 8. I WILL ACCEPT YOUR STAR.
Zombie Fuzz 8: Yes!
Luigi: Wait, we have a Star too!
Wario holds up their team’s Star.
Sphinx: SORRY, BUT YOU HAVE ALREADY LOST.
The Party Kings: Nooo!
Ballyhoo appears.
Ballyhoo: Fear not, The Party Kings! The good news is that you still get second place in this mini game!
Toad: Well that’s better than nothing.
Ballyhoo: Indeed! And the best part is, that’s only the first half of the mini game!
Partiers: What?!
Ballyhoo: That’s right! The results of this will do nothing but determine your chances in the second half of the mini game! Everyone follow me!
*Sand Dunes*
Ballyhoo: Say, where did Donkey Kong go?
Blooper: I think he’s back there somewhere.
Blooper points behind everyone else, to DK splashing his hands in a small oasis. Seeing this, Yoshi runs over and sticks his tongue in the water.
Ballyhoo: Very well! Can you two hear me?
DK/Yoshi: Yes.
Ballyhoo: Okay, listen up, everyone! The Star that will signify the winners of this mini game has been stolen! Bandit the Bandit took it, now he’s a-rollin’! The first team to take the Star from him is golden!
Luigi: Golden doesn’t technically rhyme with-
Ballyhoo: He could be anywhere, so everyone get going!
Luigi: That’s still not-
Wario picks up Luigi and runs with his team toward the dunes.
Big Top: Everyone wait, we need to mention something!
Everyone stops.
Ballyhoo: It’s time we introduced items!
Koopa Kid: We know about those already!
Ballyhoo: Not in this kind of game! The team that does the best on the first half gets a great item that will help them out! The middle team gets a lesser item, then the last place team gets nothing!
Big Top: Zombie Fuzz 8, take this orb. The Party Kings, take this candy.
Mario and Wario take the respective items for their teams.
Mario: Woohoo!
Waluigi: Magic Orb? Doesn’t that just double the amount of dice blocks?
Ballyhoo: Well items may work differently in this kind of Mario Party!
Big Top: This orb has magic powers that will help you.
Shy Guy: And we’ve got…
Toad: Springo Candy!
Big Top: One of you can hop around, moving more easily. You can also get a bird’s eye view of the dunes from your increased jump height.
The Party Kings: Oooh!
Ballyhoo: Now begin!
Everyone runs off to find Bandit.
*Zombie Fuzz 8*
Hammer Bro.: All right, watch this! BAM!
Hammer Bro. slams the magic wand on the ground, breaking it.
Blooper: It’s not a hammer, you moron! Now look what you did!
Boo: You ruined our advantage!
But this causes magic waves to blow away a small hill of sand and reveal a Red Space. Waluigi walks onto it and loses 3 coins.
Waluigi: Aw man…
Dry Bones: Hey, I found some urns.
Dry Bones takes the top off an urn.
Dry Bones: Are you the Bandit?
P.T.: Zzzzzz…
Dry Bones: Nope.
*The Party Kings*
The team is looking around while Yoshi is bouncing on his springy body from having eaten the Springo Candy.
Luigi: Do you see anything, Yoshi?
Yoshi: No.
Yoshi takes another jump, but the candy wears off in the air.
Yoshi: Waaah!
He falls and lands on a hidden Lucky Space. A Tweester picks Yoshi up and carries him away.
Luigi: Oh no, we’ve got to find him!
Koopa Kid: No way, we still have to find Bandit! Besides, Yoshi landed on a Lucky Space, what bad thing could possibly happen to him?
Toad: We’re not technically on the board anymore, so why are there spaces just scattered around on their own?
Shy Guy: Maybe they were left over or something?
*Pink n’ Yellow Brigade*
The team is searching for Bandit, when Koopa trips over a pile of sand.
Koopa: Ow!
Peach: Oh, be careful, Koopa.
Koopa: Yeah, yeah… I wonder if he’s hiding under the sand.
Koopa scoops away some sand and finds a DK Space.
Koopa: Weird…
He stands on it. Suddenly Donkey Kong gets the urge to pick him up.
Koopa: Aaah! Put me down! Someone, help! He’s gone crazy!
DK: I THROW YOU TO STAR!
DK throws Koopa to a nearby urn.
Koopa: Ow!
Koopa falls unconscious as the urn falls over and breaks, leaving a dizzy Bandit.
Daisy: I was about to check in there, looks like I was right!
Bandit: My head…
Daisy: Quick Koopa, wake up and get him!
Koopa: Ugh… Mommy I wanna play the piano…
The Tweester drops Yoshi off right next to the Bandit. Yoshi notices and swallows him.
Yoshi: Got you!
Yoshi lays the egg instantly. It hatches, revealing Bandit and the Star. Yoshi grabs the Star.
Ballyhoo: A victory is born! It’s a good thing you landed on that Lucky Space! The Party Kings win this mini game! And a Star!
Yoshi: Yoshi!
Pink n’ Yellow Brigade: Aww…
Zombie Fuzz 8: D’oh!
*MSS Sea Star*
Everyone’s gathered in front of Ballyhoo.
Ballyhoo: Good game, everyone! The winners of this mini game are The Party Kings! They get a Star as well as some ancient jewels! Do with them what you will!
Wario: Wahaha, any day I get treasure is a good day!
Luigi: Yay! Good luck, Bro!
Hammer Bro.: Thanks.
Luigi: I… meant Mario.
Hammer Bro.: Aww…
The Party Kings leave.
Boo: So who loses?
Big Top: In situations when the second and third place performances are indistinguishable, Bonus Stars will be awarded to the losing teams. The one with the most out of three teams wins.
Ballyhoo: And for added fun, the Bonus Stars are randomly determined! So Pink n’ Yellow Brigade and Zombie Fuzz 8, gather around in a circle around me, but one side per team!
The teams form a circle of 12 around Ballyhoo and Big Top.
Ballyhoo: The first Bonus Star is the Red Star, awarded to the team that suffered physical pain the most! It goes to… Pink n’ Yellow Brigade!
Toadette: Hooray!
Waluigi: Oh, but I actually stepped on a Red Space today, shouldn’t that count for something?!
Ballyhoo: Sorry, this party is different from the usual ones! The Coin Star, awarded to the team that had the best luck in this mini game, aside from not winning, goes to… Zombie Fuzz 8!
Mario/Boo/Hammer Bro.: Woohoo!
Waluigi: Yeah!
Blooper: Phew.
Ballyhoo: And finally, the Running Star, for the team who traveled the furthest! It goes to… Zombie Fuzz 8!
Dry Bones: Cool.
Boo: We won! We won!
Waluigi: No we didn’t! We got second place!
Blooper: Well, better than losing.
Mario nods his head.
Ballyhoo: All righty, Zombie Fuzz 8! You all get to go back to your room on the ship, you’re done for today!
The team leaves.
Big Top: Pink n’ Yellow Brigade, you’ll have to say goodbye to one of your teammates.
Birdo: How do we do this?
Ballyhoo: You’ll have to meet me on deck tonight and find out! But you might want to think about who you want gone.
*Elimination Deck*
Ballyhoo: Welcome to the Elimination Deck! Here we'll play an average mini game to see who goes! Last one to finish or worst performance loses! Our game... Face Lift! The face? Yoshi's!
*Face Lift*
Everyone gets a handheld device with touch controls and a picture of Yoshi's face, though the pupils face different ways, the nose stretches up, the tongue points down at an angle, and his cheeks are stretched out.
Ballyhoo: GO!
Koopa: Nyaaaa!
Koopa starts panicking and adjusting the face a bit weirdly.
Birdo: I can't believe they'd portray Yoshi in such a way...
Peach: Okay, be precise, be precise...
Daisy: Grrrr! So close!
Toadette: Hmm...
DK: DK WIN THIS FOR SURE!
*Elimination Deck*
Ballyhoo: Time's up! Let's see...
Koopa's has the eyes and cheeks right while Birdo only got to the tongue. Peach, Toadette, and Daisy's all look accurate, but DK's looks the same as when he started.
Ballyhoo: DK? Was there a problem?
DK: NO. DK WIN!
Ballyhoo: Actually... no. Sorry Donkey Kong, but you lose. Party's over.
The Red Chomp chases DK off the ship and to the harbor.
Koopa: Harsh...
Ballyhoo: And that does it for today's episode, ladies and germs! I was MC Ballyhoo!
Big Top: And I was Big Top.
