A Long Story

By zz1666

Iggy: Lemmy, there is a letter here for you.

Lemmy: I hope it's about my job!

Iggy: Your job?

Lemmy: Yeah, I signed up to be the paper boy. I don't know how many coins I'll make, but it's most likely a lot.

Iggy: Sounds like a fun job.

Lemmy: It is, now let me read the letter.

Dear Lemmy,

You have just been selected to be the paper boy for the Mushroom Dailynews. Each day you will arrive at the office at 8:00 and be given a paper route. Your route will change daily. I hope to see you tomotrow.

Head Chief,
Mr. Scoopa Koopa

Lemmy: Yes!!!

Iggy: Did you get selected?

Lemmy: Of course!

That night Lemmy went to bed one hour earlier, as he would have to wake up early in the morning. Lemmy could hardly sleep, he was so excited. The next morning Lemmy woke up, grabbed a quick breakfast, and bolted down to the news station.

Mr. Scoopa Koopa: Top of the morning, Lemmy. Ready for your first route?

Lemmy: Ready as ever!

Mr. Scoopa Koopa: Good! Your route today will be North Desert Hill, located 16 miles northeast of here.

Lemmy: That's far!

Mr. Scoopa Koopa: That's why we give out bikes, but the one we had for you got damaged overnight in a car accident. Tomorow you will have a bike.

Lemmy: Bye! I won’t let you down.

It took Lemmy 2 hours to reach North Desert Hill.

Lemmy: Well, here is the first house, 1 Chain Chomp Road. Knock knock.

Goomburt: You must be the paper boy. I'll take my paper. Thanks.

Lemmy: Have a nice day.

It took Lemmy 30 minutes to do all the houses, but then a strange guy signaled him down....

Lemmy: Yes?

Strange Guy: I was wondering if I could have that last paper.

Lemmy: This paper is for the wheelchair-bound Ms.Van Koopel.

The strange guy pushed Lemmy to the ground and ran away, dropping his credit card. Lemmy looked at the credit card and it read:

Popple
62 Ship Street
East Teehee Valley

Lemmy: I have to go get the paper back!

Lemmy walked 70 miles to East Teehee Valley and found Ship Street, then approached Popple's home. Popple had left the paper out on his door step.

Lemmy: This is easy.

Popple: Hey! Where are you going with MY paper?

Lemmy: It's not yours! You stole it from me.

Popple: If you don't drop the paper this Bob-omb will explode and send you to Joke's End!

Lemmy: Well if you don't give back MY paper I will feed your credit card to that Gritty Goomba.

Gritty Gooba: I love to eat cards! Playing cards taste the best, but credit cards are good too. Just don't give me a stupid Pokemon card. They make me sick.

Popple: No, anything but that! I need it to buy my thief equipment. Fine, take the stupid paper!

Lemmy took the paper and walked 70 miles to Ms. Van Koopel's house.

Ms. Van Koopel: Thanks for my paper, sonny. In my day we would just toss papers down the warp pipes and everyone would go to Town Hall to get them.

Lemmy: What? Mr. Scoopa Koopa better pay me lots of coins for this.

Back at the office…

Mr. Scoopa Koopa: Good job, Lemmy. For all your hard work I'm paying you 2 coins.

Lemmy: You’re only giving me 2 stupid coins for all that work?! That's it! I quit!

The next day Lemmy decided to mow lawns for money. He traveled 10 miles to Grass Land to mow lawns. He stopped at the first house he saw.

Mr. Goomington: Yes?

Lemmy: I mow lawns. I only charge 15 coins a lawn.

Mr.Goomington: That sounds good. I'll even give you a 10-coin tip.

Lemmy: Thanks!

It took Lemmy 45 minutes to mow the lawn. Then he collected his pay and went back to Dark Land. Lemmy had finally figured out that he could just ask King Koopa for money whenever he wanted. (At least that's what Lemmy hopes.)

The End
