Lemmy’s Thought of the Day

Here is what I was thinking in January 2005. Don't laugh! I'm sure I had more thoughts than some. Take a look at my thoughts, and Email me your comments!

Saturday, January 1, 2005:

Lemmy's Thought: A fun game to play with a standard deck of cards is one where, after every three turns, you use a spinner to randomly change what sub-game you're playing.
Comments: JKoopa727: But what are the sub-games?

Sunday, January 2, 2005:

Lemmy's Thought: Knowledge is only useful if other people know and are able to act on it. So if you're the only one who knows something, it may as well be false.
Comments: Hedy: Knowledge is never false. You either have knowledge or you have no knowledge. Knowledge is useful for those who have it and those who do not have it can benefit from it. Many have no knowledge of a computer, but benefit from it, and so on.

Monday, January 3, 2005:

Lemmy's Thought: If your stomach is empty, you'll have no energy to work, and if it's fill, you'll have no desire, so the only way to get work done is to spend all your time keeping your stomach half full.

Tuesday, January 4, 2005:

Lemmy's Thought: Most of the time there is no second place, just one winner and a lot of losers.

Wednesday, January 5, 2005:

Lemmy's Thought: It's a pretty lonely place down at the bottom of the priorities list.

Thursday, January 6, 2005:

Lemmy's Thought: There may not be an I in team, but there is in winner.
Comments: Daniel: There is also an I in stupid!

Friday, January 7, 2005:

Lemmy's Thought: Only in business do you turn red when you don't have enough green.

Sunday, January 9, 2005:

Lemmy's Thought: Don't lose sight of the cost of victory. It can be greater than any reward.

Monday, January 10, 2005:

Lemmy's Thought: Having ten times as many resources as a competitor gives you the opportunity to be ten times as foolish.
Comments: None

Tuesday, January 11, 2005:

Lemmy's Thought: Being polite and being aggressive may both get you what you want, but if you really want to get someone moving, there's nothing better than fear.

Wednesday, January 12, 2005:

Lemmy's Thought: The more complex your strategy, the more likely that its demise will be your own failure to properly execute it.

Thursday, January 13, 2005:

Lemmy's Thought: With practice, you'll get better, but also less conscious.
Comments: Popple: Until you have no consciousness and all the practice, but that doesn't make any sense.

Friday, January 14, 2005:

Lemmy's Thought: Don't become a hall monitor if your goal is to achieve popularity.
Comments: Jess Koopa: But... what if you get to meet a ton of dates by casually peeking into people's lockers?

Saturday, January 15, 2005:

Lemmy's Thought: Generally if you fall asleep on something, you'll still be on it when you wake up. Unless that thing was your job.

Lemmy's Thought: If the path you need to take is locked and only one person can open it, that person is undoubtedly a heavily guarded prisoner on the other side of the world. Tough luck.
Comments: Fawfuls Friend: What if you are that one person?

Saturday, January 22, 2005:

Lemmy's Thought: Perhaps the most difficult title of all to earn is "The".
Comments: JKoopa727: Yes, because the title you will earn will be something like “the best person” or “the worst person”. You can’t get “the”, unless you need to get a title for an extremely important purpose and the title giver can’t think of anything better than to give you the title “the”, which would make the title giver extremely uncreative. (Is there such thing as a title giver?)
