“Oh, come on, Iggy!” Lemmy urged. “It’ll be fun!”

Iggy had dashed off to his room and was now hiding under his bed. “Leave me alone!” Iggy shouted.

“Want me to get Roy?”

This was too much for Iggy. Iggy tried to get out from under his bed, but found he was stuck. “Help here?” Lemmy lifted the bed a little and Iggy climbed out.

“All right,” Lemmy began, “I’m going to hire our five siblings to help me get you in shape. You ready?”

Iggy sighed. “I guess so…”

They began in Grass Land with Larry.

“So, Iggy,” Larry began, “I heard that you have a weight problem.” Iggy and Lemmy nodded. “Well, your first challenge is dodging.”

“Dodging?” asked Iggy.

“Yup. I’ll throw some ninja stars at you and you have to dodge ‘em.”

Iggy gulped. “A-all right…”

Larry threw the first ninja star. “OOOOUCH!” Iggy held his arm in pain.

“Uh… Nice try. You’ll do better this time.” Larry threw another.

“OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!!!”

Iggy woke up on his bed. Lemmy and Larry were standing over him. “Wh-what happened?” Iggy asked, about to sit up.

Larry quickly pushed him back down. “The ninja star hit you in the eye. Stay laying down. You can try again later.”

Iggy sighed, and went back to sleep…

Lemmy woke Iggy up later. “Uuugh… Now what?” Iggy moaned.

“You’re going back to try again. We’re not finished here ‘til you’ve lost at least 10 pounds.” Lemmy replied simply.

“WHAT?!” Iggy was considering hiding under his bed again, but remembered what happened last time. “Oh…fine.”

They walked back to Grass Land. “Feeling better, Iggy?” Larry asked. Iggy nodded weakly. “This time I’ll go easier on you. I didn’t realize that you were that slow…”

Larry began tossing soft, white balls. Iggy almost dodged one, but it hit him on the hand as he slipped away. “You’re getting better, Iggy!” Larry shouted. “You can do it next time!”

Larry tossed another. Iggy watched Larry wind up, then jumped out of the way. Larry and Lemmy cheered. “You did it! You did it!” Lemmy shouted happily.

They went over to the scale. “Hm… Only 5 lbs…”

“Oh, please, no more!” Iggy groaned.

“C’mon, you can do it once more,” Lemmy urged. Iggy sighed, and the two went back to Larry. “He has to lose 5 more lbs, Larry,” Lemmy informed

“Ah…” Larry replied. Larry continued tossing the balls. Iggy dodged every single one!

An hour later, the twins returned to the scale. “You’ve lost 15 pounds, Iggy!” Lemmy shouted happily. “From last time we were here!”

“In total, 20 pounds?!” Iggy asked.

“I can’t believe it! Only 61 to go!” Lemmy reminded him.

“Uuugh…” Iggy hadn’t realized how long this would take.

“Don’t worry; you can do Roy’s challenge tomorrow.”

“Roy’s challenge?!”

Lemmy turned off the lights without answering.

The next morning, the two twins had traveled to Sky Land. “Hey, weakling!” Roy shouted at Iggy. “Ya ready fo’ some fightin’?”

“No…” Iggy began, but Lemmy interrupted.

“Of course he is.”

“Heh! This’ll be easeh!”

They went into the boxing arena. Roy tried to punch Iggy, but the extra fat on Iggy’s body saved him from taking much damage. Iggy realized this. “Hey! I have a shield!” Iggy punched Roy hard.

“Ooow!” Roy shouted. His sunglasses flew out of the ring. “Hey! Thass no fair!” Iggy punched Roy again. Roy fell over.

Lemmy and the others were watching from above. Iggy was beating up Roy! “This is for all the times you’ve beat me up!” Iggy jumped on Roy.

“OOOOOOOOOOOUUUCH!” Roy screamed. After Iggy jumped off, Roy ran off crying. “Take that!” Iggy laughed.

Lemmy cheered. “C’mon, let’s see how much weight you lost.” Lemmy and Iggy went over to the scale. “Wow! 15 more pounds!” Lemmy shouted.

“35 total?”

“Yup.”

“Wow!” Iggy couldn’t believe it. “Who’s next?”

“Wendy.”

Iggy nodded, only slightly nervous. The two traveled to Water Land.

Wendy was swimming in her pool. “Hi, Iggy!” Wendy called. “Heard you had some problems and needed me to help!” Iggy nodded. “Well you’re doing a swimming race!”

Iggy gulped. “Sw-swimming?! I can’t swim! You know that!!!” Iggy was scared now.

“Don’t worry; I’ll let you train first.”

Iggy sighed and carefully climbed into the pool. When he did, he began sinking immediately. “Help!”

“Just relax…” Wendy said as she grabbed onto Iggy to slightly pull him out. Iggy sighed and relaxed a little. Wendy let him go and he began floating! Iggy didn’t know what to do. “Now, move your arms and legs to move yourself,” Wendy continued. Iggy tried it, and it worked.

After a couple hours of practice, Iggy was ready for the race. “Ready…set…GO!!!” Lemmy shouted.

Iggy and Wendy began swimming. Though Iggy was fast, Wendy was much, much faster. She was able to do two laps in the time it took Iggy to do one. “Wha?!” Iggy was surprised. He had practiced hard, but he’d still lost!

“Don’t worry about it,” Lemmy replied. “The point is to lose weight; not to win a race.” Iggy sighed and the two went back to the scale.

Iggy had lost 70 lbs. He had two more days until Bowser’s birthday, and was about to face the biggest challenge: Ludwig’s Chocolate Resistance Test.

“Zis is zure to vork!” Ludwig reassured.

‘I’m not ready to resist junk food! My favorite pastime is eating cookies with Lemmy, after all. But I can’t fail. If I do, I’ll be put in the dungeon!’

“Hey, Ludwig,” Lemmy spoke up, interrupting Iggy’s thoughts.

“Yes, Zibling?”

Uh… How does this make Iggy lose weight?”

“Iggy has lozt all ze veight he needs to loze, hasn’t he?” Ludwig replied simply.

“Actually, he needs to lose eleven more pounds…”

“Vell, you can zake care of zat. My zob is to make zure he does not gain eet back, eh?” Lemmy and Iggy nodded, then Ludwig pulled out a gigantic pile of chocolate. “If you can resist zis tocolate while I am eating eet, you vill have succeeded.”

Iggy nodded, staring at the pile hungrily. All he had eaten for days was fruit and veggies! So…good… Iggy thought. Must…have…a little…bite… Iggy slowly reached towards the chocolate, but he stopped himself.

“Zo, have you read ze new quiz book? It is very interesting…” Ludwig’s voice rang in Iggy’s head. But he wasn’t listening. All he could think about was the chocolate! But Iggy finally relaxed. He listened to Ludwig’s speech and lay down.

Soon enough, however, the chocolate popped back into his head. “UGH! I must eat it!” Iggy dove at the chocolate and pushed Ludwig away.

“Hey! You did not let me finish!” Ludwig shouted. But it was too late. Iggy had eaten all of the chocolate.

“No! What have I done?!” Iggy screamed.

“Iggy! You failed us!” Lemmy shouted at him.

Suddenly, Iggy was about to perform in front of Bowser. He and Lemmy began, but Iggy broke the entire set! “How dare you?! You are the worst Koopaling ever!” shouted Bowser.

The next thing he knew, he was in jail. “So, your crime is eating chocolate and weighing too much, eh?” one Policetoad said.

“He’s Iggy Koopa,” said another.

“Ah…Iggy,” said a third. All of them began chanting. “Iggy…Iggy…Iggy…Iggy…”

“Iggy? Wake up, Iggy! Iggy!” Suddenly, Iggy woke up. The chocolate was gone.

“Did-did I fail?”

“Of course not!” shouted Lemmy. “You fell asleep before he was done. You never had the chance to eat it!”

Iggy sighed in relief. It had just been a nightmare.

“Well, come to Ice Land with me to lose those ten pounds.” Iggy nodded and the two walked away.

Iggy and Lemmy soon arrived. “All right,” Lemmy began. “This should get interesting.” He pointed up to the trapeze set in the Ice Land Circus. “See that?” Iggy nodded. “You’re going to learn to swing on it with Lizzy, here.”

A short Koopa that looked similar to Lemmy but with long, combed hair rolled up on her own pink ball with a purple star. “Hi,” she said. “I’m Lizzy. I’m here to help you do my famous tricks.”

Iggy was ready for this. It couldn’t be much different from the trick he and Lemmy did.

“By the way, her act is much different from ours. It’s much harder.”

Iggy almost thought his twin was reading his mind. He climbed up on the platform. Lizzy followed. “All right,” Lizzy began, “we’re going to start with you swinging up to that higher swing. Just jump on the lower one and swing enough to get up there with a jump. I usually do it within three swings on the lower.”

Iggy looked up and nodded. He jumped to the first swing and began swinging. Once… twice… three times… four times… five… six… Finally, at seven swings, he could get up. He jumped off of the first swing and grabbed on to the second.

“Now, swing around so that your feet are holding on to the swing.”

Iggy did so. Lizzy jumped up to the swing beside Iggy and landed on top of Iggy’s feet. She then did a midair spin and grabbed on to Iggy’s hands. “All right, let go!” Iggy released it and the two swung in midair and Lizzy grabbed a lower one. She swung Iggy up to a higher one, which he grabbed on to with his feet. Lizzy swung around on the lower ones while Iggy swung above her, keeping close. Lizzy released her swing and began to fall towards the net, but Iggy quickly swung himself to the lower swing and grabbed her.

“You’re doing perfectly!” cheered Lemmy. The two then did one quick air-cartwheel and flung themselves back to the platform, where Lizzy released herself from Iggy’s hands and landed close beside him. Lemmy cheered loudly. “Perfect! I loved it!”

The twins arrived back at the scale. “Iggy! You lost 90 pounds! That’s awesome! You lost 9 extra pounds!” Lemmy cheered. Iggy cheered, too. They were ready.

Lizzy walked up. “Hey, guys! I heard you had a performance on your dad’s birthday!”

“Will ya be there?” asked Iggy.

“Wouldn’t miss it!” Lizzy replied. She walked off as Iggy and Lemmy dashed off to practice…

Bowser’s birthday…the day of the performance. Iggy felt sick. “Are you ok?” Lemmy asked, nervous for his little brother.

Iggy nodded weakly. “Couldn’t…be better!” Iggy faked a smile.

“And now, the moment you’ve all been waiting for, the Koopa Brothers!” The crowd cheered loudly as the curtain opened.

Iggy and Lemmy did their original trick, but instead of tossing each other to the opposite platforms, they tossed each other to a higher swing. Above them was a platform with a couple of balls on top. The twins grabbed the balls with their feet and began juggling them, holding themselves feet-up. They then tossed the balls back up to the platform and swung around again. The crowd was going crazy, especially Bowser.

Iggy and Lemmy each jumped off of their swings and grabbed each other, did a quick midair spin, then tossed each other to the opposite swings. They dropped themselves down to the bottom swings and grabbed on with their feet. Iggy swung back up to the higher ones and Lemmy swung under him and dropped. Iggy swung to the lower one and quickly grabbed Lemmy. “I taught them that,” Lizzy whispered to Bowser.

Lemmy and Iggy did one more midair spin and arrived on the platforms. The crowd cheered like crazy. Lemmy congratulated Iggy, but Iggy didn’t hear him. Half because of the crowd, but also because inside, Iggy felt far too much happiness.

I’ve done it… Iggy thought. I actually…did it! Iggy cheered loudly as Lemmy came over and hugged his brother.
