Scoring Note: All fields are scored on a 7-point scale.
About the game:
This game is EXACTLY like the battle
game in Mario Bros. 3. The game has 99 levels with different
enemies, backgrounds, and things that
can modify the game a lot. Unlike the battles in Mario Bros. 3 some levels
have two platforms (one in the distance and the normal one).
Graphics: 6
32-bit graphics, very stylish! This is probably one of the most 3D Mario games ever!
Difficulty: 7
When you near the end of the game it's so hard because enemies pop out of every pipe (there's a lot of them).
Storyline: 4
Bowser kidnaps Peach and takes her to the top of his 100-floor castle and of course Mario jumps in to save her.
Environments: 7
The environments rock! The -D combined with different elements is really cool!
Ending: 2
Blahck! A normal ending. Mario saves Peach, they kiss, and they march while the credits play.
Replay Value: 7
The is a ton of replay value if you skipped from level 1 to 99 because you have missed out on the whole game!
Fun Factor!: 7
Awesome, amazing, super! It's so funny hearing me scream as I try to dodge enemies' attacks. You would too if you had 30 shells flying at you!
Overall: 6
This game rules! It's the only real
Mario game for Virtual Boy and it's just an all-around really good
game despite the fact that it is only
in shades of red and black.
Recommendation:
If you can, buy a Virtual Boy and buy
this game! You'll be playing for days trying to beat level 99, I
know I did! Nothing beats an impossible
game! Also if you find it itself you might want to buy it and sell it for
much more then you bought it for; it's a collector's item as the system
only had 8 games! If you like the Mario Bros. 3 battle mode then you'll
love Mario Clash!
