Two months have passed since Banjo and Kazooie fought Gruntilda on top of her lair. Klungo, her assistant, made her a robot that looks just like her, and had Gruntilda use her powers to get her soul from under the boulder and into the machine, thus becoming Mecha-Gruntilda, after which she went to Banjo-Kazooie's house and bird-napped Kazooie, and went into the past to stop them from meeting. Mumbo Jumbo, seeing this, sent Banjo to the past to save her.
Like I did last time, I will grade on a five star basis, 5 being the best, and 1 the worst.
Genre: 3D Adventure
Characters: ***** (5/5)
Not really much to say on this, the
recognizable characters would be Banjo, Kazooie, Gruntilda, Klungo, the
Jinjos, Honey B, Mumbo Jumbo, and Jiggywiggy. There are also new characters
like Bozzeye and the Jinjo Oracle. All the characters have well developed
personalities.
Graphics: **** (4/5)
The graphics are like any RPG, but there
are sometimes camera problems, and you can't always see some things.
Sound: ***** (5/5)
The sound is great, everything has a
sound like in the first two games of the series. Also, you can control
the volume of the background music, and the volume of the sound effects,
whitch can sometimes be a good thing when you are trying to find Jinjos.
Difficulty: ***1/2 (3 1/2 / 5)
This game isn't very difficult,
it's just that some puzzles are tricky and some aren't. You do have to
use your brain. It isn't a very long game, but it is pretty fun.
Controls: ***** (5/5)
The controls are pretty simple, and
if you forget you can just go to Bozzeye and he will remind you what to
do, but new moves come at a price, of Music Notes that is.
Transformations: **** (4/5)
What's a Banjo-Kazooie game without transformations? Since you're in the past and Mumbo Jumbo is a witch docter in training, you only get four transfortations. But there is a hut in every level except Spiral Mountain, and you get to choose what you transform into to, as long as you have the correct amount of Mumbo Totems. Here are the "prices":
Mouse: 1
Candle: 2
Octopus: 3
Tank: 4
Me? I like the octopus transformation.
Items **** (4/5)
The items in this game are good, but there are no Red Feathers, whitch means no flying v_v The items are:
Jiggies
Music Notes
Jinjos
Honeycombs (one and two, ! and ?)
Hollow Honeycombs
Blue Eggs
Magnet Eggs
Ice Eggs
Fire Eggs
Gold Feathers
and Mumbo Totoms
Replayability: *** (3/5)
It depends on how much you like Banjo-Kazooie
games, that's why I gave it a decent score. If you really do like them,
this came is definitely one to replay, because there is more than one way
to get a Jiggy. But if you don't like the games a whole lot then I would
suggest renting this game.
Fun Factor: ***** (5/5)
Ok, I don't know if this was graded
fairly because I really like the Banjo-Kazooie games and I love challenges
so I found this game fun from the start. But still, the challenges are
fun, and to get a lot of the Jiggies you have to do fun little games.
Overall: **** 1/2 (4 1/2 / 5)
I found this game to have a great plot, it's fun, challenging, and has great character AND enemy personality development. What else is there to say? This is a great game.
