Mario Party 5 Review

By Dasina-chan

Howdy! Since I love sending my adoring audience things to read, today I'll review Mario Party 5, the first game I ever played! ^^ Ok, I'll be boring and do the 1-4 star thing, so that way you know what I'm doing. 4 means best, 1 means worst. You know how that is.

Graphics: ***

Nothing too extravagent in the field of graphics. One thing that stood out to me is the Stars. I was really amazed by how real they looked! I felt that I could just reach out and pick them up! It was so cool! But other than that, the graphics weren't too special: not bad, but there's nothing new to report, giving this a 3.

Sound: *

CHEESY. I mean, really. Daisy did the whole "Yay, I got it!" in that voice, but I thought it was too cute and too soft for Daisy. And Peach? Well, I can't stand it when my sister gets Stars, and not just because of the whole what-if-she-wins ordeal. I hated it because she plays Peach, and the voice? Ack-the-glass-broke high! The men were too low, especially Wario, so you can't even hear him; Toad was more annoying than usual; and Waluigi- don't even get me started on Waluigi the Winner, which, well, didn't sound like winner to me. I really couldn't stand it. Besides, it sounded more like FairyTopia than Mario Party. Disgusting.

Charactars: ****

I liked Boo, my third favorite charactar, beat only by Luigi and Daisy. So one, two, and three were there! Of course, there were no Koopalings, but I guess that we are all kind of getting used to it. The best thing was that practically every time I play the game, I can think of a new combination for the teams, to see what names I can come up with. Biggest problem? Team Mario and Peach, "Cutest Couple". Them, cute? Hah, if my cat's backside is cute, than I guess they are the cutest. However, Daisy and Luigi's are "Steady Sweeties". Note the word STEADY. That was pretty good ^^.  But in all, I was very pleased with the characters, so this gets a good solid 4.

Mini-Games: ***

They were fun! I liked the different ideas for the games, and I especially loved Leaf Leap, the game I ALWAYS won at. The thing that stops this from getting a 4 is the fact that adults were always better. I got this when I was 10, and my step-dad ALWAYS beat me! He still does after a year and a half. Well, anyway, I mainly have no complaints other than that, so a 3 for thee!

Replayability: ***

I could play this over and over- before I started getting new Mario games. It's really fun to play over and over again, until you get new games and then you are ready for new things.

Fun Factor!: **

It is fun, but like I said, it gets old after a while. And besides, the boards kind of get on your nerves. Speaking of which...

Boards: *

DISGUSTING! Too cute, too happy, and at times, too random. The only ones I really liked were Undersea Dream and Pirate Dream. THAT was REAL adventure. But the space one was over-rated, and the rest were too cute and rainbow-y. Being the tomboy I am, I really hated that.

Overall: **

As I said, it was really fun, but after a while I started disliking it. It was a good launch into the video game realm for me, but like I also said, most of it was from FairyTopia and Barbie. Oh well, there are other fish in the sea of gaming.
