Mario Power Tennis Review

By Dasina-chan

Hey everyone! I'm back and I'm on a roll! Now I am going to review my ABSOLUTE favorite game in the world, Mario Power Tennis! Im going to rate this from 1-4 stars, 4 being the best! I am going to start out with...

Graphics: *** 3/4

The graphics in this game really stood out. The spotlights, unlike in Mario Party 6, actually LOOKED like a spotlight. The trophies looked like trophies, and the clothes on the charactars didn't look like they were painted on! The shadows were remarkable, especially Daisy's, which was a perfect shadow of her hair and body, bacically her whole figure. I did, however, notice that the audience in Peach's courts were flat; they looked like paper. Also, Wario's shadow looked like a dinner roll! But those are two very small parts of the game, giving it a three and three-fourths rating.

Sound: ***

I think the sound was really decent. Daisy had the voice Daisy is supposed to have, Luigi sounded like Luigi should. Everyone sounded like they should, even though of course there are some annoying charactars by nature, like Diddy, Waluigi, and Koopa Troopa. But they sounded like they should, even if "should" is annoying. Hehe. But, I thought the music was very annoying at times. Luckily, there was a way to turn it off.  So three stars, a good grade.

Characters: ****

Daisy was in it, immediately keeping this at least at a three. Boo was there, Luigi was there, all my favorites were there. We all can just ignore Baby Bowser, that freak. The complete cast of charactars is as follows: Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, Yoshi, Koopa  Troopa, Wario, Waluigi, Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, Bowser, Baby Bowser, Shy Guy, and Boo. I THINK I got them all. There are also some secret charactars, which I'm not going to tell you.

Controls: ****.

This is a real well-rounded area. It doesn't take a professional to get the controls, but you don't have to be three or under to grasp it. It's perfect for everyone. Wonderful wonderful wonderful. I could go on for hours about how great the controls are, but I won't.

Mini-Games: **

None of these so-called "tennis hames" really had much to do with tennis. Still, the two I've even bothered to look at, the Coin thing and the Chomp thing, are pretty fun, giving this a so-so 2 rating.

Difficulty: ****

Too easy or too hard would result in a 1 ranking. This was perfect for players like me. After I play, I say, "I'm ready for Wimbleton!" It is a good game, especially for my rank. Overall, it doesn't get much better than this.

Replayability: ****

You don't want to know how many afternoons I have spent in front of this game. This is the best game to replay in the world!

Fun Factor!: ****

Fun fun fun! I don't know why, but to me, this was the world's funnest game! I don't know how to even describe it!

Overall: ****

This was the world's greatest game when it came out, and still is today. Out of a possible 36 stars, this game recieved 32 3/4, not a bad score at all! So when you are at the game store, be sure to buy this if you don't already have it!
