Luigi's Mansion Review

By Bogmire and Jalvo the Slime

I'm sure most of you are familier with Luigi's Mansion for the GCN. If not, here is the story... Luigi wins a mansion and calls up his brother Mario to come over and celebrate. When Luigi gets to the mansion he
finds out that it is haunted and that Mario is missing. He was kidnapped by King Boo. Luigi meets an old man named Professor E. Gadd, who gives Luigi the Poltergust 3000 and a flashlight to help him rescue his brother.

This Review will be rated on a scale of 0 to 5 stars. 0 stars is absolutely terrible and 5 stars is perfect. (Note: The scare factor and difficulty isn't included in the final score.) Now, on with the Review.

Gameplay: ****1/2

This is a very fun game to play. Who knew catching ghosts could be so much fun? The only flaw is that it can get repetitive.

Sound: ****

Some of the music can be very catchy at times, but the final boss music is pretty bad. But I just love the music for the second boss battle! The sound effects are also pretty good. The lightning in this game sounds so realistic that you might think it came from outside!

Graphics: ****1/2

The graphics are very rich, you can see things like spiderwebs and the dust from Luigi when he walks, and the lightning looks so real. But the graphics don't match up to those in Super Smash Bros Melee.

Value: ***

Oh, come on! We beat this game in less than six hours! There are only four Areas in this game that are pretty short. However, if it's your first time playing it can last you a while. As for replay value, you'll want to play over and over trying to get gold frames and the A rank mansion. But after that there isn't much to do.

Scare Factor: ****1/2

Some people might not think so, but we thought this game was pretty scary. We know a guy who sold this game because it was giving him nightmares. The ghosts are pretty creepy, especially the boss in the Nursery. I had nightmares about him for a month. The reason it dosen't get 5 stars is that a few of the ghosts are acually kind of funny.

Humor: ****

This game is funny. Especially E. Gadd, I thought it was funny when he said that his family recipe was pickled dandelions and barnicles in diesel marinade. It's also funny when you hear E. Gadd talk gibberish. And like I said, the ghosts can be humerous. But it's not funny enough to make you laugh for a whole week.

Bosses: ****1/2

There is a good variety of bosses. There are four bosses in the game, one at the end of each Area. I especially like Bogmire! Each boss has there own set of attacks and boss music. The only reason I knocked off a point is because the first boss is creepy!

Difficulty: **1/2

It's pretty easy, even the final boss is kind of easy, but some of the puzzles might leave you stumped.

Overall: ****

This is a great game that may have its flaws. But it's still a good game that should not be missed out by any Mario fan. If you have $30 to spend, get this game today!
