Earthworm Jim 2 Review

By Luigi_Ownz

Earthworm Jim has been reviewed, now it’s time to interview its sequel. This game is for SNES, Genesis, Sega Saturn, CD-ROM, and Gameboy Advance.

Story: 10/10

Earthworm Jim is celebrating the overthrow of the evil Queen Pulsating, Bloated, Festering, Sweaty, Pus-Filled, Malformed, Slug-For-A-Butt with his new girlfriend, Princess What’s-Her-Name. But Psycrow has come to avenge the Queen by kidnapping What’s-Her-Name and forcing her to marry him in a wedding in Lost Vegas. Jim must quickly find his diligent bon-bon of rapture and stop the wedding from happening.

Characters: 10/10

The main character is Earthworm Jim, just like last time. Returning heroes are Peter Puppy and Princess What’s-Her-Name. We also have two new heroes: SNOTT AND SALLY, THE BLIND CAVE SALAMANDER! Snott is Jim’s sliming pet booger, who helps Jim by sticking to sticky surfaces, and Sally is Jim’s alter ego who must avoid exploding sheep and pinball bumpers. Returning villains are Bob the Killer Goldfish, Psycrow, Major Mucus, and Evil the Cat. New nefarious villains include Pedro Pupa, The Running Door, and Flamin’ Yawn.

Humor: 10/10

This game is even funnier then the last one. We still have the cows (Thank God!), but we also having Bouncing Puppies, Falling Grannies, Flying Sumos, and Walking File Cabinets. And lest we forget the humorous quiz show mini-game.

Difficulty: 8/10

Earthworm Jim 2 can be pretty challenging, especially the final level, “See Jim Run. Run, Jim, Run!” in which you must reach the end of the level before Psycrow does, while avoiding rigorous tasks such as planted windmills and bouncing boulders. This is the only level I haven’t beaten.

Music: 10/10

The music is very catchy. We have a salsa tune for “Level Ate”, and a piano solo for “See Jim Run. Run, Jim, Run!” But my favorite song of all is the polka tune for “Inflated Head”. This well deserves a 10.

Levels: 9/10

I had to deduct the score because of the final level, but still. Level Ate? Villi People? Udderly Abducted?! What funny names, and what get surprises you find in them.

Overall: 10/10

Wow! A perfect score! That must mean some sequels aren’t as bad as the original, but sometimes even better. Anyway, Earthworm Jim 2 has great music, very humorous gags, and adventure putting you on the edge of your seat. This is well worth searching for on eBay.
