Story: 7/10
Sick, twisted, and arm-missing scientist, Dr. Kiln, has come up with an ingenious plan: TO TURN THE WHOLE WORLD INTO CLAY! To stop him are the likes of Taffy, Bad Mr. Frosty, Blob, and Kung Pow. Can they stop the nefarious plan of Dr. Kiln’s?
Characters: 9/10
Characters returning from the original Clayfighter are Ickybod Clay, Bad Mr. Frosty, Bonker, Blob, and Taffy. Returning from C2: Judgment Clay is T-Hoppy. New characters are Sumo Santa, Kung Pow, Hougan, and two video game Superstars: BOOGERMAN and EARTHWORM JIM!
Controls: 5/10
The controls are the only bad part of the game, in my opinion. I have a hard time figuring which button does what, and I don’t know how to do a Claytality. Ah, well.
Voice Acting: 10/10
If you enjoyed the cartoon “Animaniacs”, good news! Because many voice actors from the show do the voices. Frank Walkner, voice of Ralph The Guard, does the voice of Ickybod Clay and Kung Pow. Tress MacNellie, voice of Hello Nurse, does Taffy. And Rob Paulson, voice of Yakko, does Hougan. Also, the characters say funny things, such as Boogerman’s “You can almost taste it!” when he does a fart slide. My favorite is Bonker’s “I hope you choke on my jokes!” when he’s about to be defeated.
Music: 10/10
I find this music very catchy, and I find myself humming its upbeat jingles every now and then, especially Earthworm Jim’s battle theme.
Levels: 10/10
My favorite stage is the Aquadome and Boogernegne, as well as Santa’s Toy Factory and Happy Harry’s Hut. Each level leads into another one if you do a strong attack on your opponent.
Overall: 8/10
I don’t know why people don’t like this game. It’s not the best game, but not the worst, either. Anyway, if you enjoyed the last 2 Clayfighter games, buy this. If you didn’t, buy it anyway. You might be pleasantly surprised.
