Nintendogs: Dachshund and Friends Review

By Metal Sonic

This is a pretty good game, so I’ll tell you a bit about its graphics and that Review junk.

Length: Infinite stars
This game is virtually endless. You don’t ever get to see who made the game. This game lasts forever, so I guess infinite stars is suitable for this game.

Graphics: ****
I’m surprised that a Nintendo DS game had graphics this good. Sure, there are a few glitches like a dog putting their leg through another dog. Actually, you can see some strands of hair on your dog. That little aspect gives the graphics four stars.

Characters: ****
The characters in this game are never seen (ecept for maybe Archie and Ted). The reason for five stars though is when you’re on a walk, you’ll sometimes run into a character. Each character has a different dog. THAT gives this little viewpoint four stars.

Dogs: ***
I’m a little disappointed. I think there should have been a bigger selection of dogs in the kennel. Sure they’re cute, but they could have added a bigger list. My personal fav in this game is the Siberian Husky. There are Corgis, Dalmatians, Poodles, and Beagles, just to name a few. More dogs would have meant more stars.

Items: *****
Yes, I just love the giant list of items you can get. There are vinyl records, frisbees, ropes, balls, and a lot more. They even added little descriptions to the items in the list. Those small little things gave this category five stars.

Controls: **
Using mostly only the stylus really hurt this rating. Sure, I like using the stylus, but it gets a little tiring after a while. You can use the buttons for small things like changing the camera to a different dog. Using the buttons more would give this category more stars.

Music: *****
There isn’t much music, but when there is, it’s extremely good. I like how they put the original Mario tune in the music list. You even get to record your voice. Some of the records cause your dog to march around or dance. One of my favorites is the opening screen with the picture of the dog. Those things gave this five stars.

Fun Factor: *****
This game is probably one of the most fun DS games I have ever owned. Throwing items, listening to records, participating in contests, and on and on and on. I would say this game could be one of the most fun games out there. That gave it five stars.

Overall: *****
Wow. This game is recommended to dog lovers alike. I bet people who don’t like dogs would find this game entertaining. There are also other versions of the game, which are pretty much the same. There are about five different versions of the game. I haven’t seen a store without this game because it is a best seller. You should get this.
