This is my Review for that new Zelda game that’s out. There are 9 dungeons, so I’ll rate 1-9, 1 being bad, and 9 being good. Now this is my opinion, so you may feel completely different.
Story: 9
Link, a goat
herder at Ordon Ranch, is having a good life. One day, his friend Ilia,
takes his horse to Ordon Springs. He manages to get there, when some bulblins
(goblin-like creatures) riding bullbos (big boar-things) take her and a
young boy, Colin. Link tries to follow after them, but becomes a wolf.
He soon meets an imp-thing called Midna. They then team up to save the
world. Eventually, they find out the true villain behind the main one.
Originality: 8
This is one of
the most original plots so far. It has the basic “Link collects objects,
gets the Master Sword, gets different objects, then beats Ganondorf” plot,
but with new twists, causing the deduction of 1 point. But there are still
new abilities, new characters, new items, new places, and even more new
things.
Graphics: 9
Beautiful! These
are some of the best graphics I have ever seen in a game. Right up there
with Super Smash Bros. Melee, and most likely the new Super Smash Bros.
Brawl (which has this model of Link in it!)
Characters: 9
A lot of these
characters. The main villain, Zant, is usually despised by players for
his childish behavior around the time you fight him, but I prefer him that
way. Midna’s attitude is reminiscent of Tatl in Majora’s Mask. I usually
like the moments going on between the kids. Malo is my favorite.
Moves: 8
There are the
basic moves, plus 7 hidden ones! These moves are really original, but I
find it a little hard to pull off the Finishing Strike. However, the Mortal
Blow was neat. It kills an enemy in one hit, unless that enemy is a stalfos
or a boss.
Locations: 7
These locations
are neat and original, minus the first three dungeons on the original part.
They seem to be the same as the first three temples in Ocarina of Time.
Hyrule Castle is really creepy when you visit it for the last time.
Music: 7
Mostly all the
music was good. But there were some exceptions. Hyrule Field at night’s
song is really creepy, especially once the creepy barrier around Hyrule
Castle comes. The Hyrule Castle music at the game’s end is creepy, and
so is the Palace of Twilight’s. The City in the Sky’s song is annoying
to me, too. But that grew on me. But otherwise, I like the songs.
Items: 7
The items are
fine. The lantern made its first 3D appearance, and you actually get to
keep a fishing rod, too! The Ball N’ Chain was very great, after years
of being used as a weapon against you. Lots of originality going on. However,
the Spinner and Dominion Rod were disappointing. You rarely use them outside
their dungeons. If the City in the Sky was made by the same people as the
Dominion Rod, shouldn’t it be used there? And don’t get me started on the
Slingshot.
Difficulty: 6
There are some
parts of the game that are really difficult, like keeping the sols from
the Zant hands, jousting with King Bulblin, and escorting a carriage all
the way around Hyrule Field. But the bosses, especially the sixth, were
kind of disappointing, a little. But that doesn’t mean they weren’t fun
to fight.
Replay Value:
8
This is a fun
game, so you should want to play again. Maybe the jousting, escorting,
sol stuff, or something else might make you hesitate, but not too much.
Fun Factor!: 7
This is fun for
the most part. Nothing really new to say.
Recommendation:
I would buy this
game. If you’re not ready to buy it, rent it. Whatever, just play it. It’s
good. There are some bad parts, but it’s a great game. I never got a Wii
yet, so I have the GCN version.
