Story: 1

Story?! This is no story. It’s just a stupid message saying that Peach is missing and Bowser’s behind all this and blah blah blah…

Characters: 9

This deserves a high grade, I mean after all, besides the usual characters (Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser, and Yoshi, whose first appearance is in this game), the Koopalings are in it. I took off a point because Toad was left out for some reason : (

Graphics: 2

I HATE THESE GRAPHICS!!! I can think of a fury of things wrong with the graphics. Luigi looks like Mario wearing green. Yoshi has orange arms! And the Koopalings are discolored (Roy is blue, Ludwig is orange with white hair, Morton is green, Larry has white hair, Lemmy is yellow with white hair, Wendy is red, and Iggy is… um… funny-looking). The Mario 3 Koopalings look a lot better than this if you ask me (except Iggy looks a bit weird in that game too).

Music: 5

I’m not really a big fan of this music. Over half of it is all the same. The overworld theme is pretty good. The ghost house and the underground themes are annoying. The Bowser battle music just doesn’t fit if you ask me. The switch palace is okay, I guess.

Gameplay: 10

I love the way this game plays. It’s similar to Mario 3. There are several levels within 7 worlds, andyou fight a Koopaling at the end of each world. LOVE IT!!!

Levels: 9

The levels are cool, and they seem to fit in with each world. I hate those stinkin’ ghost houses, though, which is why I took off one point.

Items: 7

There’s not as many items in this game as there are in Mario 3. It’s just Super Mushroom, Fire Flower, Cape Feather, Starman, 1-Up Mushroom, 3-Up Moon (which are hard to find), P-Switch, Key, and Keyhole.

Controls: 8

Mario and Luigi are pretty easy to control, but I still can’t fly with the cape. That’s kinda hard if you ask me.

Replayability: 10

Even after you’ve beaten the game, you and a buddy can play your favorite levels all over again and find the secret exits.

Overall: 10

Despite a Luigi that looks like Mario, a Yoshi with orange arms, badly-colored Koopalings, and otherwise horrible graphics, this game is pretty fun.
