Graphics: ***1/2
The graphics are some of the best for the Game Boy Advance! The backgrounds are cool, too. I know this is 2D, but it still is really good.
Sound/Music: ***1/2
The sound is pretty good... and the music isn't bad either. My favorite is probably the boss theme, because it just sounds... fun! This is also good because each level has its own theme! Out of this, I probably like the Toxic Landfill theme.
Gameplay: ****
There is A LOT about the gameplay of this game. First, Wario is not invincible (which MIGHT be bad) and has a heart meter (with eight hearts). Some enemy attacks might not do damage like if Wario touches fire, he won't get weaker, he'll just be able to stomp and run into blocks with the fire symbol. If Wario finds a "case" he'll refill his heart meter or get a CD to listen to in the sound room! Those things are hard to find, though. Wario also needs to find jewel pieces to get to the end of a passage. At the end of a level, Wario finds a "statue" with a blue frog on it. Once he jumps on it, you'll have to get to the vortex quickly or you'll lose coins! Also, you can find different kinds of coins and crystals worth an amount of coins. You also get to play mini-games! They're only three but they're pretty good. If you win, you get to buy items from the Item Shop before a boss!
Moves: ***1/2
Is it just me or are am I rating each thing 3 1/2? Anyway, Wario has all kinds of moves like B is throw and some kind of attack and A is jump.
Length: **1/2
Even though the game is only 19 levels (excluding boss areas), the levels are pretty long. It will take you at least five minutes to finish them.
Terrain: ****
Well this game has really good terrain. The one for Pinball Zone is quite interesting though, with pinball machines that are like Piranha Plants, machines that shoot mines, and the weirdest backgrounds!
Characters: ***
Well, Wario is the good guy and I don't know yet who is "responsible" for this adventure. As for enemies, there really isn't much. There are also six bosses.
Diffuculty: ***
This game isn't really diffucult, but trying to get to the vortex is! Most enemies are hard to avoid, but you still can get hearts.
Replay Value: ****
After you finish a level, you can play it again and again and... you get the idea. Sometimes you'll need to (to get the jewel pieces).
Fun Factor!: ****
Well, this game is definitely good, especially the gameplay. I don't think Wario can still wear "hats" but this is still good. All levels are fun (my favorite is Curious Factory).
Overall: ****
All I can say is this is definitely
a game to get!
