Story: 4/10
A Sims with a
twist. You move to a desolate resort town, and start to turn it into a
tourist gettaway. (Reminds you of Animal Crossing, don't it?) So you meet
the mayor, then you build up the star meter or whatever that thing is called.
Every time you fill up the meter the town's rating goes up; the higher
the rating, the more facilities and stores open up.
Graphics: 6.5/10
The most you
can expect from a DS game, but some of the characters could have been animated
better. The graphics are decent, but the sports and minigames could have
had a much better style to them.
Music: 8/10
The music was
the only really good part about this game. The only thing that prevented
this from getiing a ten is that after a while you'll want to rip your ears
off. The characters' mood is determined by the music around them, which
kept the score up.
Originality: 7/10
Basically a ripoff
of Animal Crossing, but has some original elements to it. There are a few
types of areas in the town: the mountains, port,
town, highlands,
forest, entertainment island, and your house, of course.
Difficulty: 3/10
The only difficulty
comes from the sports. Some are easy to master, like racquetball, but others
need time and patience, like scuba diving.
Characters: ???
I really don't
know what to give this. I don't know whether to say only the named characters
are true characters, which would have given this game a 7/10, or whether
all the tourists should be included with the named ones, which would have
given this a 10/10.
Controls: 6/10
Most of the sport
controls are on luck, like paragliding with the appearing birds, raquetball
with the random animals and bombs, and fishing (you'll see what i mean).
Running is slow, walking is a snail's pace, and the stylus... Well, that's
decent.
Replay Value:
3/10
Unlike The Real
Sims, everything is set around a specific goal or goals. You don't have
a choice in everything, only at certain times, such as fishing, lei making,
certain sports, and dowsing (after you finish the first one).
Fun Factor!: 7/10
It was fun for
the first few days, but after that it got very repetitive. You'll only
play if bored.
Overall: 6.5/10
I've got nothing
to say here, other than the recommendations. It's okay. If you want the
game or are a fan of Animal Crossing, go ahead and buy it. But be warned,
you might not want to spend 35 bucks for something like this.
