Super Mario Galaxy Review

By ckday

This is the first game in the Super Mario series (Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, Super Mario Galaxy, and Super Mario 64 DS) that I beat. Was it out of this world? This is my tenth Review. It is on a 1-10 scale.

Story: 10

One night every hundred years, a comet passes by, raining down Star Bits that the Toads collect to make Power Stars. Mario is invited to the festival. At the festival, Bowser kidnaps Peach (along with her castle) and Mario stows away. A Magikoopa blasts Mario into space. Mario wakes up on a distant planet, seeing a Luma. This thrusts Mario into adventure!

Gameplay: 10

Run through domes, going to galaxies to get Power Stars and Star Bits to power the observatory to rescue Peach. Pretty straight forward.

Levels: 10

There are levels from an average galaxy to one with loads of floating debris. Woah.

Mario-ness: 9

Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser, Princess Rosalina, etc.

Controls: 10

Shake the Wii-mote to spin. Other than that, it is basic controls.

Graphics: 10

Wonderful graphics that feels correct.

Music and Sound: 10

Hello orchestrated music! SMG’s music is entirely orchestrated! The music exactly fits the mood of each location!

Difficulty: 5

The game is mainly easy, with the exception of a few Stars. (We’re looking at you, Bouldergeist’s Daredevil Run, Dreadnaught’s Garbage Dump, Battlerock’s Garbage Dump, etc.)

Replayabillity: 10

Once you beat a file once, you can play as Luigi in the same file to replay it. And once you do that, you get another level for both Mario and Luigi. Then you can replay your favorite Stars again!

Fun Factor!: 11

SUPER FUN!!!

Overall: 10

AMAZING GAME!!! W00T! GET IT!
