System: DS
Players: 1 to uhhh... I don't know...
a lot
Rating: E
Price: $20
Story: You’re in a cab going to a new
town to start your life! You get to your town and it is full of happy neighbors.
So this is you living through your life.
Graphics: ***
Well to start things off, the graphics
aren't very good. They aren't bad but are not that good. This game looks
a little rushed... I think that they did do a very good job on the characters,
though, like Blaire, a cute skunk, Aurora, a little penguin, and more.
But the way they made the ground go up when you walk makes me feel like
I'm on a tiny little planet. Another complaint is that whole furniture
thing. The graphics on some of the items are just sad!
Sound: ****
The main theme in the town is very
annoying to me. But the characters’ themes are each different and usually
interesting, like Savannah's. Most of the sound effects, like catching
a fish or getting a bug, were nothing special, though they weren't bad.
Difficulty: *****
This game is easy! It is so stupidly
simple that even I, being the moron I am, can do it. Yay! Not much more
to say here... though the fish catching was kinda hard, I guess. And paying
off 120,000 dollars was too.
Replayability: ***
I play it again, but only a little
bit. Once is enough. Though technically, the game never ends. So you can
continue forever and ever. *Twilight Zone music plays* I think the game
may be fun the first time, but you can only play this once before you become
bored.
Characters: *****
There were a lot of characters in this
game, such as Tom Nook, Redd, Blaire, Kiki, Savannah, Pinky, Sahara, and
Angus. There are probably at least 50. Each has its own music and sound!
They talk differently from one another, and are very cute and funny. I
loved the characters in this game, especially Blaire.
Controls: ***
Nothing special, normal controls. You
can use the stylus or the buttons, which is an interesting feature. Nothing
really disappointing about the controls, so... yeah.
Levels: **
The main place, the town, wasn't very
good. It was mainly dark and hard to get around in. And in buildings, you
can barely get around sometimes! I just thought the levels weren't anything
special.
Items: *****
Oh, there were a ton of items in this
game! There are even Easter egg items like Mario’s hat, mustache, and nose,
a Nintendo bench, Mario wallpaper, and many more! There are lots of awesome
items in this game! Then there’s items like fossils, fish, bugs, and billions
of other things. My favorite item is the Mario hat! You can wear it and
show it off to your friends through Wi-Fi!
Fun Factor!: ***
I had fun, though the game annoyed
me in a way because you have to be patient for things. You need to wait
whole days for something new to happen. I did have a lot of fun shopping
and digging up fossils, and with a couple other things. It was definitely
fun in a way!
Gameplay: ***
It was usually the same thing everyday:
pay for items, buy items, shake some trees, dig up old fossils. Nothing
special. Unless there was an event, there was almost nothing to do most
days. Most of the time it's just the pattern in the first sentence of this
paragraph.
Recommendation: Well for one thing,
the town has events that I didn't mention, like it will snow or something.
And there’s the nation bug-off, where you catch as many bugs as possible.
I would say if you can get it for $25 or under, go with it. The game is
pretty fun and is worth it. Final score is 36/50 which is average.
