Hello! Time for me to review! Christmas was 2 months ago, so new games ensured! (And not to mention my birthday this past week.) So today I'm reviewing a game you'd never expect! DBZBT3! How does this game hold up?
Story: 4/5
The game technically
has various stories. It goes through all of the DBZ storyline. ALL OF IT!
This is done by various "sagas". The very first one you see is the Saiyan
Saga. Then it goes through like that. The longest one that I've seen so
far has to be the Special Saga. The only saga that I knew when I first
played this game was the Frieza Saga... the most obvious one probably.
It gets 4/5 due to me not knowing some stuff and not being original. But
otherwise it's good.
Graphics: 5/5
Realistic, explosions,
crashes, the looks on your opponents’ faces while you’re destroying them
completely, it's just PERFECT! No flaws. I can't think of anything.
Sound: 4.5/5
Great action
sounds. Beams sound pretty real. Explosions are realistic, punches and
kicks, well, videogame punches and kicks are never truly real life punches,
they sound the same in all fighting games. The music is good, but unless
you remember to change what you want to hear on the stage select screen,
you'll always hear the same song. So that stuff lowers the score.
Gameplay: 5/5
Ok, so I don't
give a very small description that doesn't say anything, I'll list them
in separate sub-sections.
Movement: It's the basic stuff. You move around with the control stick on the Nunchuck. C is jump/go into fly mode, Z is duck or drop down. Basic, simple to understand stuff. And once you’re in fly mode, you just move normally.
Throwing: This one is kinda odd. To throw or grab, you have to be near your enemy, then act is if you're trying to hug someone... I'm not kidding. You have to act like you're hugging somebody with the Wiimote and Nunchuck. And sometimes, the game could think you want to do a dragon dash, which uses a lot of energy. But you don't really have to use throws too much anyway.
Blocking: Simply enough, press and hold both A and B at the same time. You'll block the attack. Blocks can make you not take any damage, reduce damage, or do nothing due to the move being unblockable. But if you do it at the right time, you might teleport and dodge the attack completely!
Attacking: A to do a basic attacking combo, B to fire small beams that use small amounts of energy. Hold down a certain direction on the D-Pad to charge energy, and do special movements with the Wiimote and Nunchuck to use super attacks! 1 makes you transform if you have enough energy, and 2 is to switch out with a teammate if you're in team mode. 1 is also to go to the next cutscene in story mode.
So basically, that's the great gameplay in a nutshell.
Fun-Factor!: 5/5
It's a fighting
game... What isn't fun in that? The only flaw I can think of is that in
the Saiyan Saga, the rendition of the famous "IT'S OVER 9000!" is poorly
executed. Vegeta doesn't scream, and Nappa sounds stupid. It ain't funny,
yo!
Lemmy: NEVER SAY YO AGAIN!
Hey, I don't tell you how to ride your ball, you don't tell me how to review! Anyway, it's still very fun and addictive.
Overall: 10/10
Recommendation:
If you like fighting
games: Buy it.
If you don't
have a Wii: Get the PS2 version
If you want a
good game: But it
If you hate DBZ:
Don't buy it
If you love DBZ:
You probably already have it
If you hate Mario:
WHY ARE YOU ON THIS WEBSITE?!
Yes the game is great! Now buy it.
