What happens to my Energy after I
attack?
Nothing. It stays right where
it is, unless the attack tells you to do something with it. Normally,
Energy is used over and over to power your Minion's attacks until that
Minion is knocked out, at which point its Energy goes with it to the discard
pile.
Common Enemy does beg a question:
Can a Minion attack a target within the same land as it is?
Usually, no. Minions from the
same army (belonging to the same player) will not attack each other, or
their Buildings. However, Common Enemy is a member of a different
army which has somehow managed to occupy the same territory as someone
else's Minions. Since it is not a friendly Minion, and can obviously
be reached from inside the same land, it may be attacked in this case.
If either player places a Common Enemy in Sky Land, Minions attacking from
Water Land, Dark Land, Underground Land, or Sky Land itself may choose
Common Enemy as the target.
Can you use Magikoopa's Power Spell
in a land more than once, and if so, what happens?
Let's go to the card! "EE Power
Spell-The next attack launched from this land does twice as much damage
as usual, before applying any other effects."
I'm assuming you're asking what happens if you use this attack several times consecutively. Let's get an example.
To start a game using a fast attack deck, Player 1 throws down Magikoopa and EE and uses Power Spell, to double the damage caused next turn. Player 2, using a different kind of deck, puts down some other Basic Minion.
What does Player 1 do now, with his extra attack power? If he decides to play Mr. I and E, Eye Beam will cause 20 damage (or would, if it was possible to reach a target at this point). If he uses Power Spell again, it will double the attack damage on his Round 3 turn. In this case, since Power Spell usually does 0 damage, last turn's move does nothing to help Player 1 in this round.
So, the attack can be used more than once consecutively, but there's not much reason to do so. No triple or quadruple damage for this strategy.
If my opponent has a High Wall in
play, can I attack the High Wall through the Land it is blocking?
Buildings can never protect themselves.
Though your Minions' attacks can't reach over a High Wall, the wall itself
is an easy target. Any Minion who can reach the land High Wall is
in may attack it. When High Wall is the target, the border it is
guarding is irrelevant.
Can Fire Flower increase damage on
no-damage attacks?
"If you attack this turn, the target
takes 20 extra damage." First, this requires a target. Many
non-damage attacks do not have a target, and therefore no extra damage
may be caused. Similarly, flood-damage attacks may not be increased
in this way, since an entire land is not a target. Second, the "extra"
implies that damage has already been done. Any attack that does not
cause damage on its own receives no bonus from a Fire Flower.
Let's say you use an attack that does damage based on how many of that Minion are in the land. (Like Microgoomba's Cling). Would you count the Minion using this attack as a factor in using the attack? (i.e. Using Microgoomba's Cling if the Microgoomba attacking is the only Microgoomba in the land).
Let's go to the card! "GG Cling-This
attack does 10 damage for every Microgoomba in this land." Well, by definition
of 'this land', the Microgoomba attacking has to be a "Microgoomba in this
land". Therefore, it counts towards its own attack. If the attacking Microgoomba
was the only Microgoomba in its land, the attack would do 10 damage.
Now, let's consider a similar attack
used by Bandana Blue. "WWW Gang Up-20. This attack does 10 extra damage
for every Bandana Blue or Bandana Red besides this one in this land." In
this case, if your Bandana Blue is alone, the attack does 20 damage, the
base number noted in the attack text. For every *other* Bandana Blue, and
for every Bandana Red, in the land, add 10 to the damage total.
Can you use multiple Fire Flowers on a Minion?
Yes! The card says, "If you attack this turn, the target takes 20 extra damage." The "extra" means that you can keep adding the damage on top of all other effects.
If your opponent played a Common Enemy and then they use an attack like Whomp's Block, what would happen?
Good question! Let's see the cards.
"If your opponent attacks this land
on their next turn, he or she must choose Whomp as the target."
"Neither player may attack any other
target until Common Enemy is Knocked Out."
Now, let's assume that Whomp is in Desert Land, and has used Block. This move only counts if the opponent attacks Desert Land.
First case scenario: Common Enemy is not in Desert Land. If the opponent wants to attack, he or she must choose Common Enemy as the target. If they can't reach it, they may not attack.
Second case scenario: Common Enemy is in Desert Land. Here we have a problem. The opponent may not attack any target besides Common Enemy, but must choose Whomp as the target. What a dilemma! In this case, Whomp's special attack overrides the ongoing effect of Common Enemy.
Does Roy Koopa's Dog Pile do 10 damage to other Roy Koopas in the same land or just Minions that aren't named Roy Koopa?
Hmm, yes, the card text is a little vague here. The answer is that every Minion other than the attacking Roy Koopa receives 10 damage, because only one Roy can be on top of the pile.
If you use more than one Once Again in a turn, and the coin flip is heads for more than one, can you attack like 4 times a turn or something?
Yes. One heads lets you attack twice, two heads lets you attack three times, etc.
If you play Fire Flowers in a land, and then you attack twice with Once Again, do the Fire Flowers count for both attacks, or just one?
Both attacks.
A question about Camouflage - When a Minion has this Spell attached to him, "play continues as though the Minion [is] not on the board". How literally do you take that?
Camouflage *does* require you to completely ignore the Minion, except in the
following two cases.
1. Some kind of effect that would cancel Camouflage.
2. The land being otherwise abandoned. In this case, the player must move their
Minion to another land under their control, but Camouflage remains in effect.
For Brute Force, what if an attack doesn't have a base damage?
With Brute Force, attacks without base damage do absolutely nothing. However, there are some attacks that have base damage and then some kind of negative effect for the attacking player. Brute Force lets you avoid that!
Say you use the card Too Quiet. On your next turn, you play Once Again and flip heads. Does Too Quiet apply to both attacks?
Sorry, no. Too Quiet says "Next turn, your attack does twice as much damage as usual". That means you can't double up on the Spell's effect.
Does Possessed Frogfucious discard his Zen counters when he uses Find Weakness?
No. You do not need to discard ANY Zen counters when using Find Weakness. Frogfucious (even when Possessed) is such a master of meditation that he can maintain his focus even while attacking an enemy. Theoretically, there's no limit to how many Zen counters he can rack up. Sure, it takes a lot of turns for the damage to amount to much, but wouldn't it be satisfying to see the old toad take down your opponent's annoying mega-Minion in one hit?
At the start of the game, does each player
draw seven cards, or do they wait until their first turn, and then draw the
seven, and then another?
Both players draw seven cards right away. This can be done even before
determining who goes first. Each player draws an eighth card at the beginning of
their actual turn.
Does a player who lacks lands at the beginning of a turn have the entire turn
to recapture a land in? That is, if the player only has Even Odds, or something
similar, could that be played to hopefully save the player?
The game can't start until both players have a Basic Minion in their hand. On
his first turn, a player must begin by invading a corner land. If a player is
forced off the board, and all the corner lands are occupied, then the game is
over. If one or more corner lands are unoccupied, then the player starts a new
turn by drawing a card. At this point the player will not be in control of any
Minions or Buildings (unless Stronghold is in play), but may use Spells from his
hand. If the player is not able to invade a land during their turn, then the
game is over.
What happens if Miracles are used in a four-player game? Does the user
collect all cards, or just her opponents' cards, or just her partner's, or only
the cards of an opponent she specifies?
In case of team battles, the lucky user of Miracle may choose one opponent to
take all cards from.
