Very typical for himself, Roy is an obvious choice for a SMAAAAAASH! deck. His Dog Pile attack is the second-most powerful attack in the game, or at least only one attack consistantly does more than 80 damage, and Iggy, the owner of that attack, has to discard four of his Energies to use it. In my opinion, four Energies isn’t generally worth the 20 damage difference between Iggy's and Roy's attacks.
Roy's attack has a drawback though…everyone in the same land as he apparently joins in the Dog Pile, and Roy "accidentally" hurts them all for 10 HP of damage as well. Sure that's a deterrent, but since Roy has 120 HP it is probably safe for you to leave him in a land all by himself. Keep everyone out of Roy's land, and no one will get hurt…except for enemy Minions, that is.
If you can get out Roy real fast, you will be in good shape because he can instantly defeat any Minion that either can't or hasn't had time to evolve. My suggestion is to have a lot of Supply Line in your deck, and also some Fresh Troops, which allows you to instantly put in your hand whatever Minion you want that is in your deck, if you flip heads. Just make sure you have several Fresh Troops and that your coin has at least one heads on it, and you'll be fine.
Make sure to provide Roy with lots of energy, because he needs it. Watch out for anyone that might have an Energy ZAP deck. Roy shouldn't take too much damage because he'll be knocking out baddies real fast, but if you want to make sure he hangs around for the duration then protect his unevolved forms and carry Mushrooms. Also, if some enemy Minions already have energy, knock them out first.
Try to get Roy into Dark Land so that he can reach all areas of the board…nowhere for your opponent to run! If your opponent tries to hide in a corner then you can move Roy over to the edge. Just remember that if Roy is alone in his land you will need to move some other Minion in before Roy leaves if you don't want to abandon that land. Same thing applies in the odd event that Roy is about to die. Move someone else in fast.
Roy is one of those cards that players will find it cheap to lose to. That's not your problem though, go out there and win!
