When you look at Iggy, I hope you don't see the part where it says you can cause 100 damage and get excited, because Iggy won't get to do that often. This does not make Iggy useless, though he could be useless if you don't use him right. I will make sure that you do.
First and foremost, you MUST take over Giant Land; you should start the game in Grass or Ice Land. Unless you use Shrink and discard four Energies, Iggy must be in Giant Land to do more than 40 damage, and that is a sorry figure for a Stage 2 Minion. 70 HP is considerable though, and if Iggy is in Giant Land your opponent won't last long in Grass, Ice, or Dark Land - they may even abandon those lands. Careful though, because Iggy can't give chase to retreating enemies and still cause 70 damage.
My next suggestion is that you should use only Fighting-type Minions. Iggy will literally eat up all your Energy, and it won't help you to have Ice Energy when you need Fighting. Bandit's line is sturdy, so you can use him or just use a lot of Super Koopa and Fighting Koopa.
In general, you shouldn't use Shrink unless it will kill an enemy that will otherwise kill Iggy. Four Energies is A LOT to waster, so be shrewd. You want to make absolutely sure that Iggy does not go down with Energy on him if any enemy target has more than 70 HP. If Iggy is about to die, then you can use Shrink to take down the most dangerous enemy target that 70 HP won't kill. If no target has more than 70 HP, don't use Shrink.
If you are lucky enough to have two or more Iggys in your deck, consider using War Buddies so they can pass on their Energy to the next. Actually, if you have War Buddies you can take Energy off Iggy and give it to other Minions if the enemy retreats from the lands surrounding Giant Land. For that matter, Iggy can be a deterrent even if you don't have Energy for him. Um, getting back to having several Iggys, I wouldn't put more than one Iggy in play at a time, though, since all of them would still belong in Giant Land. Iggy can't surround the enemy like some other Minions can. So keep the new Iggy safe in your hand.
I think that if you see Iggy in battle, you'll realize he's not such a wimp after all.
