I have decided that I will find some way to write a strategy article for each Promo card, so I'll start with the first. This oddball is a slow fighter in Booster's Tower, but he's not quite so here.
Jester is a good choice for a fast attack deck. He can do an average of 25 damage (meaning 20 or 30 most of the time) for just two Ice Energies, and he's a Basic Minion, so he's easy to use. In addition, with 70 HP he can take some hits. This means that Jester will be knocking out weak foes early in the game without being in much danger himself.
He is also universally useful because half the time you may trade a card in your hand that you don't need yet for one in your deck that you do. If you already have an Ice deck with evolved Minions in it, Jester will help you get them out. Since I mentioned Ice, I would like to also say that there are a bunch of decent Ice types. You could make an Ice deck work for you.
The biggest problem with Jester is that only two of him have been released as of May 14, 2001. Even if you had both, you couldn't rely on drawing him when you need to. If you plan to use Jester, consider including Fresh Troops in your deck so you can pick him out of your deck if you flip heads. Mushroom may help as well in keeping Jester alive deep into the game.
