While it doesn’t quite cause invincibility, Starman is an excellent heal card. Heal off half the damage your Minion has taken… wow! Now, this is only good in decks where the Minions have a lot of HP; otherwise a common Mushroom could do the trick. Never use Rotten Mushroom anymore since it is also uncommon but requires an Energy to be tossed. No requirement for Starman!
When you want to use Starman, you should wait as long as possible before using it so you can remove the most damage. Ideally, you should wait until your 100 HP Whomp has 90 damage on him before you heal off 50 because if you heal when he only has 70 damage you’ll only heal off 40. But, at the same time, make sure you don’t wait too long or you’ll find your Minion knocked out. You need to figure out the strongest attack your opponent is capable of. Whether or not you will take into account the possible effects of a Fire Flower being played depends on how important your Minion is and whether you think your opponent would have it. If they might and your Minion is important, play on the careful side and use Starman earlier.
