Like the Bumpty Penguin-Huffin Puffin
deck, this deck also relies on swarming.
Microgoomba only has 30 HP, and weak
attacks, right? Well, not exactly. By playing more and more Microgoombas
in your land, their Cling attack does more and more damage (10 damage times
the number of Microgoombas in this land).
This is a good thing, because if your
deck has only Microgoombas as your Basic Minions, chances are you'll draw
many of them. And if you don't, you can use the Friends attack to pull
them out of your deck. Now, this could be a deck theme all in its own right,
but you can take this strategy to another level by including Paragoomba.
Paragoomba can be a problem, since
he's a Stage 2 Minion, but if you can get him out, you can do major damage.
Paragoomba's first attack, Flying Tackle,
does 30 damage for 3 Ground Energy. Not very good for a Stage 2. However,
look at the second attack, Goombomb. Goombomb, for 4 Ground Energies, does
20 damage times the number of Microgoombas in this land. So, if you have
6 Microgoombas in the land, you can do 120 damage! However, your opponent,
if he has another Minion in the land, will probably attack the Microgoombas,
lowering your attack strength. But if you have a lot of Microgoombas in
your deck, this shouldn't be a problem.
Another plus to this deck is that Microgoomba
and Goomba are Common cards, which allows you to stock a great many of
them. And Paragoomba is Uncommon, meaning you can have up to 5 of them
in a starting deck if all the rest of your cards are common cards.
You can combine these with cards like
Fire Flower and Gun Tower for extra damage, and Supply Lines to keep the
Microgoombas flowing.
So remember, never underestimate the
power of Paragoomba. (And Microgoomba).
