Big Boo
Tail Koopa

When Big Boo starts out fresh and with no damage, it is easy to use because it starts out doing massive damage with just three Evil Energies. However, it becomes harder to use as it takes damage. But if you play this card right, you don’t have to worry about this situation as much.

When you are trying to evolve Lil’ Boo to Boo Diddly to Big Boo, you should play the Lil’ Boo at a corner land and protect it by putting some other Minions in the lands adjoining the land Lil’ Boo is in. That way, your opponent cannot attack Lil’ Boo unless your opponent has a Minion who can attack any target. When you evolve Lil’ Boo to Boo Diddly to Big Boo, it’ll start with no damage.

Big Boo’s second attack, Already Dead, deals 60 damage maximum when it has no damage. That attack gets weaker when Big Boo takes damage. For example, if Big Boo has 20 damage, his Already Dead attack would do 40 damage. But you can reduce the damage Big Boo takes. Parapet and Fortress reduce the damage Big Boo takes. Or, you can use Barricade on the land Big Boo is in. That way, Big Boo could deal a lot of damage and your opponent can’t do anything much about it. You should use Barricade when Big Boo has no damage while attacking, so you can do maximum damage. With the Barricade and Big Boo strategy, you could defeat very dangerous Minions like Roy Koopa. But if you’re going to use Big Boo to attack weak enemies, then I would advise you to use some other Minions that can defeat these enemies instead of Big Boo.

Big Boo’s first attack, Reincarnation, allows you to take 2 damage counters from Big Boo for each Evil Energy card discarded. This attack would also strengthen Big Boo’s Already Dead attack since you’re taking away damage counters. However, it costs Energy cards. You would need cards like Supply Lines or Honey Syrups to get more Evil Energy cards if you’re going to keep using Reincarnation. Also, if you’re using Big Boo’s Reincarnation, then you should put Big Boo in a land protected by other lands adjoining it when using that attack if you want to continue doing massive damage. You could also use cards like Reverse Mushroom or Severe Shortage to get these discarded Energies back so you won’t be short on Energies. Be sure to have a lot of Supply Lines, Honey Syrups, or some other cards that allow you to get more cards and Energies.

You can also use cards that can heal Big Boo like Mushrooms. You don’t have to discard any Energy at all that way.

Big Boo kind of has split personalities. Big Boo would fit best in a Protect deck while also doing some good damage.
