Introduction
Hello and thank you for reading this guide. Hopefully it will help you complete Luigi's Mansion to the best of your ability and help you find some interesting secrets yourself. Before you start you will need to know a little bit about the strategy guide. Firstly, anything written in italics and underlined is a heading and anything just underlined is a sub-heading.
At the end of some guides to rooms you may see information about "money ghosts" or "Boos" or even "golden mice". Let me explain what I mean by these. Money ghosts are special ghosts hidden throughout the game. There are only ten of them and they are some of the hardest ghosts to catch, but if you do get one your vacuum will spert out money (if you do not understand what I mean it will be a bit clearer after you get past the training room or read the instruction manual). Boos are important ghosts but you don't need to know about them now so I'll let Professor Gadd explain it to you when the time comes. Golden mice are elusive mice that only appear once unless you beat the last boss, then you have another chance to catch them (the same applies with money ghosts). There are only ten and five of them appeared at random while the other five appear from cheese that must be selected with the Gameboy Horror. You have to have quick reactions to catch them, but much like the money ghosts, if you catch one it pays off well.
So that should be enough information for your brain to process for now, so let's get on with the story, controls, and walkthrough.
Story
One day Luigi got a letter in the mail saying that he had won a mansion in a contest he didn't even enter. Excited as ever, he called Mario and told him to meet him there. That night Luigi made his way up to what appeared to be a gloomy old mansion, and Mario was nowhere in sight...

Walkthrough
Area 1
Foyer
Ok, welcome to your first room. Now
don't be scared (that's Luigi's job), nothing will jump out and bite your
head off. Go to the left side of the room and up the stairs and try to
open the double doors at the top. They will be locked so go back downstairs
and a key will fall onto the floor. Go over to the key and pick it up,
then go back up the stairs, open the doors, and enjoy the cutscene. When
you come back here after the cutscene and training, don't forget to talk
to Toad, who saves your game when you talk to him. Before you can save,
though, he will ask you to help him. Always say yes if this situation should
arise. Also remember to pick up the coins up the stairs and while you're
at it vacuum the chandelier to make money fall onto the floor below, but
watch out because the chandelier can fall onto your head if you stand under
it for too long.
Prof. Gadd's Lab
This is hardly worth explaining (it's
not even a real room) but you can go to the gallery just to see how well
you are doing or to get some explanations from Gadd. Once you have done
that, which you don't even have to, you can go to the training room, where
the objective is too practice capturing as many ghosts as possible with
your new Poltergust 3000 (this is just for the basics but you can come
back later and try to catch all the ghosts). While in the training room
wiggle your control stick a little and pull back on it at the same time
as you vacuum the ghosts for a faster capture. This is not advisable for
all ghosts but use this method to catch orange ghosts easily. After you
get past the first few ghosts a whole bunch will come at you at once. To
get these bring them into a group by running from them for a while, then
flash and vacuum them all at once just like Gadd tells you to. Another
option in the lab is to go to the mansion, which is where you will be going
next, but every time you play you will start back at the lab.
Parlor
If you are not sure where this is,
go to the room where you saw the cutscene (that's here). Ok, first thing's
first: go up to the portrait at the far end of the room and vacuum the
six candles around it (this is how you put out candles), then you will
see a cutscene where the portraits warn Luigi of the ghosts in the darkness
and then they appear. Now go around the room. You know the orange ghosts
you saw in the training room? They're back, so all you have to do is use
the same technique you did in training to catch them. Don't forget to vacuum
cupboards and things like these around rooms for extra cash. There's a
gold bar in the chandelier.
Boo: Bamboo, Health: 30 HP
Note: Boos will not appear until you
trigger a certain event in Area Two.
Anteroom
If you are not sure how to get to this
room, shake the chest you find after the lights turned on in the Parlor
and use the key to open the door at the far end of the room. This room
introduces a new type of ghost, the purple ghost, so watch out for them.
To catch them easily wiggle the control stick left and right a little while
pulling back like you did with the orange ghosts. You won't face a purple
ghost straight away so catch an orange one first and remember at one point
in the room a purple and orange ghost pop out so vacuum the purple one
first, dodging the punches of the orange one, and then vacuum the orange
ghost. This is a good strategy, so try to pick off stronger ghosts before
weaker ones to make it easier for yourself. After the lights turn on vacuum
the vase at the back of the room on the right for a heart to restore lost
health, then vacuum the middle drawer for some cash. Don't vacuum the left
drawer yet but when you come back to this room after saving on the Balcony,
vacuum it for a gold brick. While you're here now vacuum the chandelier
on the right side of the room for some more of the sweet cash. The chandelier
also holds a heart for when you need it.
Boo: Bootha, Health: 50 HP
Wardrobe Room
To get here go through the door at
the left of the Anteroom. Part 1: In here you will find a mix of green
and orange ghosts. These new green ghosts have 40 HP, unlike the weaker
orange and purple ghosts, and they can also throw banana peels which are
best avoided. Remember, we are dealing with a new ghost, so a new strategy
is needed. For the green ghosts wiggle the control stick left and right
except when you are near one of their banana peels. If you are pull them
away from that area and continue as usual. Use the same "pick off stronger
ghosts first" strategy as before. Use the green ghost strategy and vacuum
the orange ghosts as usual, and when there are no more ghosts you can vacuum
the wardrobe on the left to reveal the last ghost and vacuum it, but before
you do you may want to look at the money ghost section below if you are
a more confident player. Anyway, after capturing that last orange ghost
a key will appear on a shelf above you. Vacuum it down and open the door
on the left wall.
Money Ghost: There is one of the earlier
explained money ghosts in this room. To get it, vacuum the wardrobe on
the right before getting the last orange ghost. Just use the flash and
vacuum technique on it, but if you flash it but don't vacuum it you will
have to start the whole game again or defeat the last boss to get another
chance, as with any money ghost.
Boo: Gameboo Advance, Health: 30 HP
Toad's Balcony
All you have to do to complete this
room is talk to Toad, but also remember to return here with water in your
vacuum after getting the water elemental medal to water the plants here
and get a reasonable amount of treasure.
Study
Ok, to get here go to the second floor
of the Foyer and go to the door at the left of the room. At this point
Professor Gadd will talk to you about portrait ghosts, so listen closely.
When he is finished go through the door you are standing by, then go through
the next door you see. There is not much in here to worry about so go over
to the desk and vacuum all the flying books that come out of the bookcase.
Remember to vacuum the books on the desk for money. Now you may have noticed
in the rocking chair your first portrait ghost. He is named Neville but
is also known as the bookish father for obvious reasons. You can get Neville
now or if you want the money ghost in here check the section below first.
To get Neville stand fairly near his rocking chair with your light off
and your back to him, then wait for him to yawn. Quickly turn around and
flash and vacuum him. Neville wont put up much of a struggle and his only
attack is dropping a Cursed Mushroom halfway through the battle, so your
best bet is to pull him into the corner with the lamp and wiggle the control
stick until you've caught him. Once caught, collect the pearls he dropped
for extra cash and get the key from the chest which appears in the room.
Money Ghost: This money ghost is very
tricky for this stage of the game, so about the only way you can catch
him is to flash him as soon as he appears. To make it appear knock against
the chair behind the desk.
Boo: Taboo, Health: 50 HP
Master Bedroom
To get here go through the corridor
where Neville's room is, collecting the coins as you go and dodging the
mouse ghosts (which can be vacuumed so easily you don't even have to flash
them), until you get to the end of the corridor; the door closest to the
end of the wall is this room. To catch Lydia, aka the mirror glazing mother,
who is the portrait ghost of this room, you need to vacuum the curtains
and walk to your left to open them. Then when Lydia shows her heart, waves
in the wind, and generally shows signs of being blown away, flash and vacuum
her. It is ok to wiggle the control stick or drag Lydia into a corner,
just watch out when she drops her Cursed Mushroom. If you let go of her
use the same technique with the curtain to vacuum her again. Once you've
caught her collect the pearls she left around and get the key in the chest.
Come back later once you have the water elemental medal and vacuum the
ceiling fan for some paper money, open the drawers on the right for some
coins, open the drawer on the left (in front of the bed) for a bar of gold,
and water the plant for an emerald. For now you can leave this room and
watch the cutscene (now would be a good time to save).
Boo: Boolicious, Health: 30 HP
Nursery: Ok, this is the room you saw
the door to in the cutscene, so enter with caution. There isn't much treasure
in this room except for the coins round the rocking horse (don't use the
vacuum on them just yet), but there are some hearts in case you need a
boost on your heart meter. Go up to the picture of Chauncey (the one with
the heart frame) to get a heart, and for a really big heart that almost
always completely restores your health vacuum the drawers in the corner
of the room (this heart is great for whenever you need a boost and it comes
back again and again so come here if you are low on health). To capture
Chauncey, vacuum the rocking chair until Chauncey appears on it, then he
will tell you he wants to "play". To play his game, vacuum all the teddies
he summons to attack you and when you can, vacuum the ball in the room.
When you have it in your vacuum keep holding down the R button until you
are ready to shoot Chauncey, then press the L button to shoot. Once you
do there will be a cutscene and the real battle will start. Ok, you need
to know how to deal with Chauncey's attacks, so look at this list: 1) Rocking
Horse: Sometimes Chauncey will summon a rocking horse so stand still until
it faces you, then run. 2) Bouncing Balls: To dodge these stand still until
one comes at you, then move. When all the balls are gone except one use
this ball on Chauncey with the shooting technique you did before, then
once it hits, vacuum Chauncey, but don't wiggle the control stick and don't
be disappointed if he breaks free after a while because it is literally
impossible to catch him in one vacuum. 3) Bouncing Baby: This attack is
activated after the bouncing balls. To dodge it, simply run or stay to
either side of the cot. 4) Double Rocking Horse: To dodge this attack,
in which Chauncey summons two rocking horses, stay in the middle of the
cot. Use this strategy and once you defeat Chauncey, collect the key in
the chest (hold down A on bigger chests) and Gadd will take you back to
his lab.
Boo: Turboo, Health: 50 HP
Area 2
Random Golden Mouse: There is a golden mouse that appears randomly in the corridor mentioned in the following strategies.
1F Bathroom
To get here go through the doors on
the bottom floor of the Foyer, then go right down the corridor until you
see a separate corridor leading off (watch out, there is a yellow ghost
here; you may see a golden mouse so vacuum it for some cash). Follow this
to the end, then go left to the end of the next corridor and the bathroom
is the second door on the left, just before the glowing door. This is simple
so you hardly need to pay attention. Once inside you'll encounter grabber
ghosts who can grab you, but these are white grabbers so they can't do
any damage even though they are a nuisance in a room with lots of ghosts.
Flash and vacuum both of them while wiggling the control stick, and if
you do get caught wiggle the control stick to break free. After you are
done with these ghosts Prof. Gadd will contact you with information about
grabber ghosts. After you've heard that vacuum the key down from a shelf
on the left side of the room.
Ballroom
This is the room on the right in the
corridor with the yellow ghost in it. Once you get in here you will encounter
ghosts with masks. These are Beezo ghosts, which must have their masks
vacuumed off before they can be flashed and vacuumed normally, and yes,
wiggle the control stick while vacuuming them up. After all the Beezo ghosts
have been eliminated, the Floating Whirlindas, who are the portrait ghost
of this room, will appear. Stand on the left spinning platform facing away
from the center and don't move until the Whirlindas go into a twirl and
their heart appears. Once you've started vacuuming them, drain their HP
and capture them the same way you did Lydia. After you're done with the
Whirlindas, vacuum the chandelier on the right side of the room for a bar
of gold.
Boo: Boo La La, Health: 60 HP
Storage Room
The door to this room is at the back
of the Ballroom. Go to the money ghost section now if you want to get the
money ghost, but if you don't just read on. There is a new type of ghost
in here called the red grabber. Treat them like white grabbers except remember
if they grab you they can hurt you. A trick in a room of grabbers and other
ghosts is to take the grabbers out first, so go ahead and vacuum away,
and if you didn't already know, there are purple ghosts in this room with
the grabbers. Once you defeat them, in the mirror you will see a switch,
so press that switch and the wall will move. After this, go to the left
side of the room and vacuum up the "danger" poster, then press the button
behind it to release the Boos. Now Gadd will call you back to the lab and
tell you to catch some Boos.
Money Ghost: To get this vacuum the
first chair you see when you enter the room, although it is slightly hard
to capture with the other ghosts trying to destroy you.
Boo: Gameboo, Health: 50 HP
At this point your probably thinking "Well I went through tons of rooms and I didn't find any Boos", but this is the bit where you must go back and capture five Boos with your Boo Radar. There is one Boo located in each of the following rooms: Parlor, Anteroom, Wardrobe Room, Study, Master Bedroom, and Nursery. Hunting for Boos at this stage should be fairly easy, but remember that when hunting Boos your Boo Radar may not be detecting to Boo but instead a useless Boo Ball or a bomb that will seriously hurt if it explodes anywhere near you. Another way in which Boos can be tricky is that actually trying to pull them back or wiggling the control stick doesn't do as much as it might to other ghosts at pulling them back, also it can be very easy for a Boo to simply escape through a wall to the safety of the next room, and they are much faster in dark rooms. But anyway, happy Boo hunting...
1F Washroom
After catching five Boos you will need
to head to this room, which is down the 1F corridor and is the first door
on the left before you get to the glowing door near the 1F bathroom. Inside
you will find a crying Toad saying that he dropped something in the toilet,
and sure enough, if you vacuum the toilet, the key to Madame Clairvoya's
room will pop out.
Fortuneteller's Room
If you are coming out of the double
doors from the Foyer, this room can be found by following the corridor
right until you find the first door facing away from the camera. Shine
your flashlight at the crystal ball in the center of the room until you
see Madame Clairvoya appear in the chair, then get in front of the crystal
ball and talk to Madame Clairvoya. You will find that this ghost in fact
is not at all scary but can actually help you find Mario, all she needs
are a few items of Mario's that he has dropped around the mansion.
Golden Mouse: There is a piece of cheese
around the back of Madame Clairvoyas canopy in here which contains a golden
mouse.
Mirror Room
Of course you will need to get Mario's
items, but before you can do that you first need a fire elemental medal,
which can be got in this room. Unfortunately when you enter the room the
door is blocked off and you are attacked by ghosts. The ghosts after you
now are blue grabbers, which are much like the white grabbers you
met in the bathroom earlier except these ones deplete your life when they
grab and they're invisible (until you get them with the flashlight) so
you must use the massive mirror at the back of the room to see where they
are. In this particular face-off it is best to keep your eyes on the mirror
at all times instead of the real Luigi. After defeating the grabber ghosts
the lights will come on and a chest will appear in the middle of the room
with a fire elemental medal inside. Prof. Gadd will contact you and explain
about elemental ghosts now so listen carefully and try it out by getting
an elemental ghost from the burning torch in the corner of the room. Light
the two sets of candles in the room to unlock the door and return to Madame
Clairvoya's room.
Boo: Kung Boo, Health: 40 HP
Fortuneteller's Room
After grabbing that elemental ghost
you will need to use your fire to light the light the sets of candles in
each corner of the room. After you have lit all of them a key will appear
on the bottom right column of the canopy over Madame Clairvoya that you
can get down with your vacuum (continued in Laundry room).
Laundry Room
To get to the laundry room if you're
coming out of the double doors from the Foyer just keep heading left until
you reach a door. Welcome to the Laundry Room, which you'll find isn't
too roomy considering the couple of ghosts you're about to fight, so just
stay in the corner of the room and flash and vacuum the purple ghost and
grabbers (both at the same time if possible). Once the lights are on you
will find that this is one of those room where the chest does not give
you an essential item but instead gives you a truckload of money. Once
you have collected your reward head over to the washing machine and vacuum
it open to find the first of Mario's items, his hat. Take this hat back
to Madame Clairvoya for more information (well not that much), then proceed
to the next room.
Boo: Boogie, Health: 40 HP
Butler's Room
By this time you should see a candelabrum
floating along the hallway, so make sure the Poltergust is loaded with
a fire elemental ghost and light the candelabrum to reveal that it is being
carried by the old mansion butler, Shivers, who makes his way along the
corridors of the first floor. Follow him but be ready if he decides to
double back on him himself at any point. He'll eventually end up in the
Butler's Room (which is just in front of the Laundry Room you went into
earlier) and relax on the stall in there, and that is your chance to flash
and vacuum him. When vacuuming him, just watch out for the table and the
sewing machine in the room and don't run into the blue mice scuttling across
the room and you should be fine. Once you're done with Shivers and have
got the key remember there is a sapphire in the bucket in the corner on
the left side of the room, and you might also want to take a look at the
Hidden Room.
Boo: Peeka Boo, Health: 40 HP
Hidden Room
This room is hard to find as it is...
well.... hidden, but grab a fire elemental ghost and go to the back right
corner of the Butler's Room, then go to Gameboy Horror view to find a mousehole
in that corner. Scan the mousehole to turn it into a portal to go through.
You will find tons of cups, chandeliers, and chests full of gold. When
collecting treasure, collect all coins, notes, and gold bars before gems
as it takes a small amount of time to collect them. Watch out for the Ice
Ghosts here; you can get to their hearts with a blast of fire and then
flash and vacuum them. Defeating all the ice ghosts will turn on the lights.
If you wish to leave the room at any point go to Gameboy Horror view and
scan the mirror on the wall to go back to the Foyer.
Money Ghost: During the blackout return
to this room and open the chest on the very right to find this well hidden
money ghost. When facing him make sure you have cleared out all treasure
in this room so nothing gets in the way of his capture.
Boo: Gumboo, Health: 40 HP
Conservatory
You'll find this room by going from
the double doors of the Foyer right until you reach the corridor going
off, then follow that down the mansion and head left until you see a door
in the back wall and unlock it. Move along the room, shaking all the instruments
you see as you go (you should hear a nice version of the Super Mario Bros.
theme) and then finally shake the piano at the end of the room to make
Melody Pianissima appear. She will play one of two tunes to you, and although
most Mario fans would know how to answer her question about the music she
asks afterwards, I'll tell you the answers anyway. If she plays a tune
then asks you what the writer of the tune had in their mind at the time,
the answer is water; and if she asks you which game the tune she played
came from, the answer is Super Mario Bros. 3. After you've answered her
question correctly her piano will start throwing sheets of music out at
you which CAN hurt you. Stay close to Melody so you can vacuum up the sheets
of music and then flash and vacuum Melody and just try to vacuum her up
while avoiding any annoying objects that may come your way. The good news
is that she isn't too strong.
Money Ghost: The money ghost here is
hiding under the piano stall but you've probably noticed the slight inconvenience
with trying to get to the piano stall with Melody sitting on it. You'll
just have to come back here during the blackout to get the money ghost.
Boo: Boomeo, Health: 40 HP
Dining Room
To get to the dining room from the
double doors you need to head right until you reach the second corridor
coming off it, then go to the first door on the left of that corridor.
Welcome to the Dining Room, where vacuuming one cabinet will get you a
money ghost. The real prize here is Mr. Luggs, who will appear after you
light the candles with a fire elemental ghost (which can be got from the
torch in the corner of the room). He will then start eating from the plate
in front of him, which you need to vacuum a little off of. Wait for a waiter
ghost to come, flash and capture one of them, and repeat. After the waiters
are taken care of all you have to do is suck away the remains of Mr. Lugg's
meal to start the battle. Mr. Luggs makes the first move by belching fireballs
at the room, but just keep running up to the left side of the room and
back to the right to avoid the fireballs until he gets tired. When he does
he'll show his heart so it is your chance to flash and vacuum him. Mr.
Luggs is hard as he is very strong, this isn't a wiggle the control stick
ghost, and there is the massive table in the way, so it is hard to capture
him in one go; more than one attempt may be necessary. After you've beaten
Mr. Luggs open the chest for enough treasure to fill a Yoshi.
Money Ghost: As mentioned earlier the
money ghost is in the cabinet on the left, but capturing this pest is not
such an easy task if you are too near the table so try to stay in the corner
of the room and take him down there.
Boo: Boodalicious, Health: 80 HP
Kitchen
To get here just go out of the left
door from the Dining Room, but make sure you bring a fire elemental if
it is your first time. When you enter the room you should notice some enchanted
pots and pans flying at you so take care of these by vacuuming them up
when in trouble. To turn the lights on vacuum the fridge door open and
use your fire elemental ghost to deal with the ice ghost inside. Go to
the chest in the center of the room to get the water elemental medal and
then listen to Gadd's explanation. Grab a water elemental from the tap
and use it to douse the flames blocking the door on the left side of the
room.
Golden Mouse: There is a piece of cheese
on the floor here which contains a golden mouse.
Boo: Booligan, Health: 80 HP
Boneyard
The Boneyard can be reached by taking
the door on the lefthand side of the kitchen. Welcome to the Boneyard,
home of Spooky the Dog, who is the portrait ghost of this "room". Start
by spraying some water around Spooky's area and he will chase you around
the yard but eventually stop, at which point a Mr. Bones will appear to
see what all the noise is. These enemies can be slightly tricky as they
can throw bones at you, but it's nothing a quick flash and vacuum can't
handle, so defeat him and one of his bones will pop out and land on the
floor, and Spooky will begin to lick it. While Spooky is licking the bone
his heart will show, and it couldn't be much simpler than an old flash,
vacuum, and wiggle the control stick to capture this portrait ghost.
Money Plant: You will probably notice
that a seed has been planted in the patch of dirt in the corner of the
Boneyard. Don't ask questions, but just water the seed to help it grow
into the biggest payoff of the whole game.
Graveyard
To get to the Graveyard go to Gameboy
Horror view and select the doghouse at the back of the Boneyard to turn
it into a portal to the graveyard. As you reach the graveyard you will
be greeted by three Mr. Bones. You must flash and vacuum each one quickly
while avoiding the bones thrown by the others. When you're done, vacuum
the drainpipe on the right side of the graveyard for an extra ruby and
then shake all the graves for hearts until you have 100 health. You'll
need all 100 of those health points to defeat the final boss of Area 2,
Bogmire, who is an embodiment of all the fear felt at the mansion and is
brought to life by the lightning that strikes him when you go up to his
glowing grave at the back of the graveyard (or alternatively you can exit
through the tree stump if you want to leave and come back later). You will
notice that once you are in the battle arena with Bogmire that he teleports
his way around the outside of the ring and uses his shadowy goons to attack
you, but just vacuum these ghosts into a ball that sticks to the end of
your Poltergust and release them on Bogmire when you feel you have a good
shot at him. Bogmire will become trapped in his shadowy friends if you
shoot them at him, and the bigger the shadow ghost, the better. Once Bogmire
is trapped it's time to flash and vacuum him, but as with Chauncey this
boss ghost can't be caught all in one go and you can't wiggle the control
stick, so you'll have to make several attempts at it before you can capture
him. Every time he comes back you will notice that his shadow ghosts get
bigger and bigger each time, and by the time you get to his last few points
of health you'll see why you need all 100 health, but although you'll lose
a bit of health in this battle, once you've defeated Bogmire, collected
the key, and returned to Gadd's lab, you'll be okay.
Area 3
Random Golden Mouse: The 2F corridor
mentioned in some of the following strategies contains a golden mouse that
appears at a random moment.
Money Plant: Remember the money plant
in the Boneyard you watered earlier? Well it's time to return there, and
you will see it has grown a little, so just water it a little more to give
it another boost towards that payoff, or if you don't want to do it now,
just do it anytime before you finish the Area.
Courtyard
To get here go through the double doors
from the Foyer, then right off the corridor coming off this one, then left
until you see a glowing door, and go through it (you should notice the
lights around here are on now). You will notice there are quite few small
paint ghosts in the courtyard. These speedy little ghosts can be annoying
so if needed just defeat all the ghosts you can find in the courtyard to
turn the lights on and get another chest full off money, which you will
want if you plan to complete the game with an A Rank. Okay, time to do
what we came here to do, firstly shake the statue for money and then head
right across the courtyard, vacuuming the birdhouse to get Mario's Letter,
which will serve as another useful item to Madame Clairvoya, and then make
your way down that well ahead via the ladder and continue on the path right
to see Mario. Yes, you found him, but it looks like he is trapped in the
portrait and there's no way you can get to him from here, so you'll have
to turn back. When you do you'll see a hanging ghost pop up so flash and
vacuum him to light up the Bottom of the Well and get the key to the Rec
Room. Now climb out of the well and make your way right until you find
a small shack and vacuum the door open (but don't get too close or the
door will smack Luigi in the face). Inside the shack you will find a Toad
so if you wish to save your game here you can.
Rec Room
To get here go to the very right side
of the Courtyard and then go through the door facing away from the camera.
Inside here you will find a ghost working out at the weights. His name
is Biff Atlas, but first I advise you to vacuum the lamp on the right side
of the room for a gold brick. Now to start a battle with him just punch
one of the punchbags into him (but be careful when punching these that
they don't come back and hit you in the face) and he'll start running after
you, spinning his arms around. Just get him with two more punchbags now
and he'll tire out and be ready for a flash and vacuum. Even now you'll
find that Biff is one off the strongest ghosts in the game, so don't wiggle
the controller and unless you're an expert ghost hunter by now, don't look
to be capturing him in one go. Remember if you do lose contact with him
all you need to hit him with is one punchbag when he returns, but in the
end you should capture Biff even if you are a little battle-scarred. Now
if you thought the treasure from the Courtyard was good open up this chest
to find your treasure complete with a diamond and all the money you can
carry (metaphorically speaking), Open the drawers at the back of the room
for a few coins and then take a little run on the treadmill to get a key
giving you an extremely useful shortcut. Now that is dealt with you must
make your way to Madame Clairvoya with the Letter and she will tell you
of an altar and Mario being trapped inside a portrait (which we already
know).

Tea Room
If you are going here for the first
time, grab a water elemental ghost from the Kitchen and make your way (from
the double doors) right, then off up into the corridor coming off of this
one, then go right until you reach a door which you must pass through,
then go up the stairs and douse the flames outside the door with the fire
grate and enter. There are a couple of annoying things here like grabber
ghosts and plates, so deal with those to turn the lights on. The chest
for this room appears on a table so what you must do is go to the right
side of the room and stand on the strange pad there to be flipped onto
the ceiling, then find another pad on the ceiling which will take you down
onto the table, letting you open the chest to get the ice elemental medal.
Congratulations, you have now collected all three elemental medals and
can shoot fire, water and ice out of your Poltergust. Now the lights are
on so vacuum the chandelier for some cash and shake the shelves full of
plates on the right side of the room now to get a Ruby ;).
Boo: Mr. Boojangles, Health: 50 HP
2F Washroom
From the top of the stairs to the second
floor you recently unlocked just go left through the door and then continue
left down the corridor until you end up entering a door, but make sure
you have a water elemental ghost if it is your first time. When you enter
this room you will face a fire-hearted ghost so use your water element
to get through him and then just take the money from the chest that appears,
easy.
2F Bathroom
The door to this room is located on
the same wall as the one for the 2F Washroom, but if you are here the first
time around get an ice elemental ghost (you can get one from the bucket
of ice in the Tea Room). Vacuum the bath curtain open just like you did
with the curtain in the Master Bedroom and avoid the splash of water that
flies out. Ice up the bath with your Poltergust and flash and vacuum the
ghost in the bath, Miss Petunia. This portrait ghost has fattened up quite
a bit since her modelling days so she'll be strong, and once again it is
one of those ghosts you can't wiggle the controller to capture, so just
try to pull her into the corner as you fight (it's all you can do). After
you've defeated her use your Poltergust to get any pearls accidentally
dropped in or behind the bath before opening the chest for a key to the
next room.
Billiards Room
It doesn't really matter at what point
in Area 3 you do the Billiards Room, but I put it here because I did this
room at this point. To reach the Billiards Room go from the Foyer doors,
right, then off up into the other corridor, then left until you see a door
on the wall the camera can see through and enter it. Inside we find Slim
Bankshot, who is the portrait ghost for this room. You will notice that
Slim likes to hit the billiard balls to make them bounce of the walls,
so just suck them in with your vacuum and shoot them out at Slim (this'll
be good practice for facing Nana). After three billiard balls he'll be
vulnerable to vacuuming. Don't underestimate Slim, those super long arms
give him quite a powerful chance of escaping, so just get him into a corner
and keep pulling as hard as you can. After Slim is defeated a chest forms
with yet more money for your collection, so enjoy and make your way to
the Projection Room.
Boo: BooHoo, Health: 50 HP
Projection Room
The door to the Projection Room is
located on the right wall of the Billiards Room. Once you enter the Projection
Room you'll notice that there aren't any ghosts here yet and the room is
more than a little dark, so shake the projector at the front of the room
to shed a little light on the situation (I know it's an awful pun) and
a blue grabber will come down. Unfortunately these grabbers are invisible
so you'll have to watch the shadows on the projection screen to see where
they are. After you've defeated the first grabber two come at you at once,
and after you've defeated them three come at you at once, but after you've
dealt with these a chest appears containing Mario's Glove. Taking it to
Madame Clairvoya will reveal the presence of Bowser in the mansion.
Boo: Shamboo, Health: 50 HP
Nana's Room
The door to Nana's room is pretty much
opposite of the door to the 2F Bathroom. This room comfortably houses Nana,
the scarf-knitting granny. To begin this match shake the bowl with the
balls of yarn in it and she'll attack you, so try to dodge her spit attack
to the best of your ability. Don't let the balls of yarn stun you, and
use your vacuum to shoot the balls of yarn at her. Three balls are necessary
to get her to the point where you can flash and vacuum her, but don't slip
up or you'll have to leave the room and start all over again. Once you
are vacuuming her you'll find that from this point on things are fairly
easy as Nana only has 100 HP and is getting slightly sluggish in her old
health. Once she is defeated grab the key in the chest and set off for
a journey to the Twins' Room.
Boo: Limbooger, Health: 100 HP
Twins' Room
Remember the only locked door left
in that portrait ghost corridor from Area One? The one next to the Nursery?
Well that's the door to the Twins' Room. If you wish to make Henry and
Orville (the twins) appear you must vacuum the mobile for a bit until they
show up asking for a game of hide and seek. Accept their challenge and
then leave the room while they hide and re-enter when they say so. You
will notice several boxes dotted around the room so vacuum each one and
if it shakes open it up to find one of the twins. Once you've found both
of the twins they'll say you must've cheated, which you did, but they have
no right to start attacking you like this. One of them will fly over in
an airplane dropping bombs on you and the other will drive a go-cart around
the room trying to flatten you, so decide which one gives you the most
trouble, vacuum away his vehicle, and begin vacuuming the ghost himself
while continuously trying to avoid the other one. Neither of the twins
is too strong and they both have the standard 100 HP, but it's not an easy
battle so don't be too discouraged if you lose hold of the twins a couple
of times. Remember it's better to let one go yourself than to be hit, take
damage, and then see them fly off. After you've defeated them you get Mario's
Shoe. Take it to Madame Clairvoya to find out that Mario is being held
in the painting by King Boo (which you will have seen if you looked at
the Bottom of the Well). She will announce that she only has the power
to read one more item.
Money Ghost: Shake the bunk bed to
find this money ghost, who doesn't have too many places to run in this
room (compared to the others) but as always is a very fast ghost.
Boo: Booris, Health: 100 HP
Astral Hall
Make sure you have a fire elemental
ghost if you haven't lit up the room yet. From the top of the stairs that
go up to the second floor from the first floor corridor, go left until
you see the other corridor coming down off it and go down that corridor,
taking the first door on the right. At first when you enter the hall, taking
the door on the right side of the room won't exactly get you far, so firstly
vacuum the chandelier for some money, then light all the candles and stand
on the middle of the star in the center of the candles and watch as Luigi
cowers and the candles' flames all turn purple. A mix of white grabbers
and Beezo ghosts appear so keep your distance from the Beezos while vacuuming
the grabbers and then deal with the Beezos like you would normally. After
you've wiped the room clean of ghosts you can finally use the door on the
right side of the room.
Boo: Boonswoggle, Health: 100 HP
Observatory
The door to the Observatory is on the
right side of the Astral Hall. The Observatory is pretty simple to complete.
Look into the telescope and you'll be able to see the stars, and when you
return back to the room the wall come away. Step out onto the small point
at the right side of the observatory, from which you can see the moon and
try to vacuum in one of the falling meteors. You have to shoot your meteor
at the moon with great accuracy because they tend to shoot off very far
to the right or left of the moon when shot a little off, but after hitting
the moon it will explode, revealing a path to a half moon with the final
item for Madame Clairvoya on it, Mario's Star. Taking it to Madame Clairvoya
tells us that Mario is trying to say something about Boo-power.
Fortuneteller's Room
Now that the final item has been brought
to Madame Clairvoya, she says that she has done her job and now wishes
to return to the portrait from which she came. Although she is a little
reluctant to go once vacuuming begins she is quite an easy portrait ghost
and won't give you much trouble. The chest that forms in Madame Clairvoya's
room after you defeat her contains a key which will finally help us explore
the third floor a little...
Boo: Booigi, Health: 40 HP
Safari Room
To get to this room go from the door
to the Area 2 main corridor on the second floor, head left, then down into
the other corridor you see coming off the one you are in. then go right
when you get to the end of that corridor, through the door and up the stairs,
then take the door closest to the camera, and if coming here for the first
time, bring an ice element. When you enter the room it is seemingly deserted,
so while it still is vacuum the light on the right side of the room for
a bar of gold and then when you are ready vacuum the deer-head trophies
hanging on the back wall to start a brawl with the ghosts. There are two
types of ghosts here, green ghosts and water-hearted ghosts. Deal with
the water-hearted ghosts first as they have a sort of ground pound attack
that sends out a wave which will damage Luigi and knock him over. but although
this attack is fast the ice will freeze them in place easily and make them
vulnerable to vacuuming so take care of the water-hearted ghosts as fast
as possible and then take out the green ghosts (suddenly they don't seem
as hard as they did in the Wardrobe Room). The key in the chest that appears
leads to the Area 3 boss, so save while you still can.
Boo: Little Boo Peep, Health: 100 HP
Balcony
To get to the Balcony take the door
on the left side of the Safari Room and go through the door at the end
of the corridor with 20 Boos captured, but if you are planning to face
the boss of the Area grab some hearts first. When you get to the balcony
you will notice that your Boo Radar is flashing red at all times and you
find the reason for that in the center of the balcony. This must've been
what Mario was trying to warn you about because the 15 Boos you find in
the middle of the balcony merge together to form one MASSIVE super Boo
called Boolossus. This Boo will attack by bouncing around the Balcony,
attempting to flatten Luigi, so vacuum him fast (don't try to flash him)
and once you've got him he'll be trying to escape, on the verge of being
sucked in by the Poltergust. Pull him backwards into the horn of one of
the icy unicorn statues located on either side of the Balcony and he will
split back into his original 15 Boos, but these Boos can only be captured
by freezing them (you can get ice elemental ghosts by vacuuming the statues)
and then vacuuming them up into the Poltergust. After a while the remaining
Boos do reform into Boolossus. The more Boos you capture the smaller the
reformation of Boolossus is, but the more Boos are captured the faster
both Boolossus and the individual Boos get (I know it's annoying). When
you are down to the last few Boos you may find some try to attack you while
your back is turned, so be as careful as possible, and once you get down
to the last three Boos you'll virtually kill yourself trying to capture
them at that speed, and eventually when you get down to the mercilessly
fast final Boo, Boolossus can no longer be reformed. I don't have really
any more strategy for defeating these super-speedy tyrants apart from sometimes
if you turn around to lure them closer, then freeze them, you can capture
some of them, but I will say that I personally think this is the hardest
boss to get a golden frame on in all of Luigi's Mansion (even compared
with the final boss). Once you've defeated Boolossus you get the key for
the first room of Area 4 and the satisfaction of knowing that you just
caught 15 more Boos on your way towards the 50.
Area 4
Money Plant: Okay, this is the big moment. Assuming you've watered it when prompted before, returning to it and watering the magnificent bud of the money plant now will score you not only a whole bunch of paper money, coins, etc, but also a golden diamond worth the most money you can possibly get from one item. Now that's what I call gardening.
Telephone Room
The journey to here is quite something.
Firstly go up to the Balcony with a water elemental ghost loaded into the
Poltergust and water all the plants for quite a cash bonus, then use the
key from Boolossus to open the door on the left side of the Balcony. As
you do, though, the worst possible thing happens: a bolt of lightning hits
the mansion and the power is knocked out. With the mansion in darkness,
the ghosts have complete control over the whole mansion again. What's more,
they've locked the Breaker Room, so if you want to get the power back up
you'll need a new key. Anyway, after passing through the door go as far
down the corridor as you can and it's the door on the right. One of the
phones is ringing. When you enter the room and get asked you who is speaking,
say "Luigi" and you'll find that it is Toad, who has been quite startled
by the power being knocked out. Save with him, then the next phone will
ring. The person on the next phone is Gadd, and he is aware than the power
has gone down in the mansion but says that there is one ghost that hides
in especially dark places and likes mirrors (no, he's not in the Mirror
Room). His name is Uncle Grimly. After you finish your second little phone
chat the ghosts raid the Telephone Room so get off to the Wardrobe Room
quickly.
Wardrobe Room
To get here this time around you'll
have to go through quite a few ghosts, including the new blue ghosts who
have 30 HP and use the same ground pound move as those water-hearted ghosts
we met earlier. At the back of the room you'll see our Uncle Grimly, who's
pathetic scare attack can't even frighten Luigi, but when he does try to
attack that's your cue to flash and vacuum grimy old Grimly. Pull him into
the corner of the room and just use the normal method and you'll find that
he is not hard (he is only the boss of the Wardrobe Room, after all). Once
beaten you'll get a key to open the Breaker Room and you'll be able to
end this madness.
Breaker Room
Time to go through another horde of
ghosts to get to down to this room in the basement. You have to go get
yourself down to the corridors of floor one if you wish to find this room
and then go (from the Foyer doors) right until you get to a door, then
go through it, down the stairs, and enter the door on the back wall. Inside
this room you'll see the Breaker Switch at the back and a lot of blue mice
scuttling across the floor, so just go to the back of the room and pull
the switch to light up the mansion again (including this room) and get
the key to the next room.
Money Ghost: If you go to down to the
basement before the blackout happens and pull the tablecloth of the table
in here you will find a money ghost. When capturing this guy you don't
need to worry about the mice on the floor too much as they won't be too
much of a problem, just keep following him around the room.
Boo: Boo B. Hatch, Health: 200 HP
Cellar
This room is located opposite the Breaker
Room. Try to vacuum away as many dirt piles as you can when you reach this
room to make it easier to fight the ghosts, as there is a purple ghost
in each barrel in here (there are two barrels) but nothing life threatening,
so you should get the chest with the key pretty quickly. After you've lit
up the room shake the set of shelves on the right side of the room for
a gold bar.
Money Ghost: When you enter the room
you will notice that there is a crate quite near you. It contains a money
ghost, but at least get rid of a few dirt piles before attempting to face
him or things could get tricky.
Boo: Booripedies, Health: 100 HP
Telephone Room
Once you re-enter the room you may
notice a chest on the back wall and two on the right wall. Open the chest
on the back wall and defeat the Mr. Bones inside, then do the same with
the one on the right wall furthest from the screen to get a chest with
a key.
Boo: Boomerang, Health: 300 HP
Clock Room
This room is located through the door
at the back of the Telephone Room. When you first enter you will notice
a lot of... well, clocks. So it's time to turn all of them on and then
the Clockwork Soldiers will appear in the room. To start vacuuming one
you have to vacuum the key out of his back, then flash and vacuum the ghost,
but beware the other ghosts prodding you with the little corks that come
out of their guns. You have to keep away from the other ghosts so try hiding
behind a table or in a corner until you've vacuumed up your current Clockwork
Soldier, then move on to the next one, who you will find is harder, and
finally the last one, but when vacuuming him you don't have to worry about
other Clockwork Soldiers anymore, and after vacuuming him up we can proceed.
Boo: Booscaster, Health: 300 HP
Roof
To get to the roof step into the middle
house at the back of the Clock Room. When you get to the roof you will
find the Beezo ghosts having a bit of a party here, so grab a fire elemental
ghost from the campfire in front of you and work your way through the Beezos
two at a time to avoid one couple trying to attack you while you're dealing
with another. After defeating the Beezo ghosts you will come across two
ice-hearted ghosts so use the fire elemental to defeat them and you've
cleared the Roof. Climb up the ladder at the left chimney to get your key,
but don't leave without checking out the sealed room first.
Sealed Room
To get to the Sealed Room you must
climb onto the right chimney of the roof, then walk onto the end of the
wooden plank there and just fall off the end (sorry, but the door was sealed).
Inside you'll find treasure almost everywhere, but it doesn't contain as
much as the Hidden Room and this one has more ghosts, so take care of the
ghosts you see first. To take care of them, open the chest in the center
at the back of the room and defeat the orange, purple, and blue ghosts
to get a chest with a key. When you want to exit, vacuum the piece of cloth
hanging from the back, which will reveal a mirror you can scan with your
Gameboy Horror.
Money Ghost: The money ghost here is
located on the chest to the right of the table, but this one is harder
than the one in the Hidden Room so you'll have to be on your toes if you
want to flash and vacuum him.
Sitting Room
From the entrance to the second floor
corridor from the stairs from the first, go left until you see another
corridor coming off of this one then go down it and right a little and
go into the first door you see facing away from the camera (bring a fire
elemental ghost). When you get in here, why don't you light the candles
for a little atmosphere? But wait, no time for that, now it seems that
after you light the candles about six different orange ghosts attack at
one time, so try to see if when capturing them you can capture more than
one at a time (extra hearts). Once the first wave of ghosts are done with
make a run for the water bowl and grab a water elemental ghost; two fire-hearted
ghosts show up now so just extinguish, flash, and vacuum to beat them,
then open the chest for a special surprise. When you're done water the
plant in the corner for a gold bar.
Boo: Boolivia, Health: 100 HP
Guest Room
The door to this room is on the right
side of the Sitting Room. Bring a little water elemental ghost as well.
When you get in here you'll notice the whole room is upside down and you're
on the roof, but if we want to get this room the right way up we're going
to have to get Sue Pea out of here. Our ghost is sleeping on the bed so
just spray her with water three times and her heart will become visible
- flash and vacuuming time. As you vacuum her you may have a little trouble
with dolls being thrown at you, but when this happens just try to dodge
and continue hardcore vacuuming until Sue Pea is safely inside the Poltergust
even if it requires more than one go. The chest appears but unfortunately
it is on the floor (which is above you), so exit the room and you'll hear
a little remodelling going on, re-enter and the chest of money will be
yours. Water the plant by the bed for a sapphire along with your treasure.
Boo: Boonita, Health: 100 HP
Armory
To get here go to the corridor where
the Telephone Room is, then go down to the end and take the door on the
left. There are a few ghosts found around this room in the suits of armor
and others are found in chests near the back of the room. Stay on the right
side of the suits of armor while shaking them and be ready to flash and
vacuum instantly when opening the chests. To list all the ghosts in here:
an orange ghost, two purple ghosts, a green ghost, a blue ghost, and a
red grabber; and once you beat all of them the room will be lit and a chest
with a key will appear.
Boo: Underboo, Health: 150 HP
Ceramics Studio
The door to this is located at the
back of the Armory. Grab an ice elemental ghost from the icy pot (I dunno
why it's icy) and go over to the group of pots. Jarvis proposes a game,
he will pop out of one of the pots in the room, and each time he does you
must hit him with ice. If you hit him the seven times necessary within
the time limit, you win. Accept and when playing, try to stay in the middle
of the group of pots and try to keep your eyes open at all times, as you
can only afford a couple of slip-ups. Also try to refrain from shooting
too many massive chunks of ice, as they use up your ice elemental ghost
quickly and there is no time to get another one. After you have frozen
him seven times he pops out of a pot getting really angry and his pots
start flying at you. This means it's battle time, so flash and vacuum him
into the corner and don't worry about the oncoming pots too much, they're
pretty easy to dodge. After defeating him open up the chest for treasure
(you'll see why you'll want so much at the end) and then shake all the
pots to find a gold bar and a ruby.
Boo: Tamboorine, Health: 200 HP
Pipe Room
Go back down to the Cellar, out the
door on the left, and keep going up this corridor, and when you get to
the end take the door on the left. Once inside you will find a few grabber
ghosts trying to attack you, but they are fairly average so just flash
and vacuum as normal and then vacuum the icy barrel for an ice elemental
ghost. Use it to freeze the sewage in front of you, then go across it to
the small platform and turn the valve to stop the water coming down from
the gushing pipe. Go right across the wooden plank from the platform and
go through the area where the water was flowing and you'll find a chest
containing the key to the next room. Oh, and after you're done shake that
thing by the door for a gold bar.
Boo: Booffant, Health: 300 HP
Cold Storage
To get here go to the corridor where
the Pipe Room was. It is the first door on the left this time. Grab a fire
elemental ghost from the gas heater and head over to the massive block
of ice with the ghost in it in the corner. You must light all the fires
around each side of Sir Weston here, but beware of his attack as he can
send waves of ice out at you. If you wish to dodge them tread lightly,
as running on this ice can send you sliding across the room and into another
of his attacks or the icicles falling from the ceiling. Once all the fires
are lit you can finally heat up the ice block around Sir Weston and it
will melt, then you can flash and vacuum him, but I warn you now that Sir
Weston is not only very strong but can pull you around the room easily
on this ice, so always look out where you are going. To capture him it
WILL take several goes, so when you're sliding around the ice just try
to pull back on Sir Weston and don't bump into anything. Once you've captured
him slide over to the chest for the key. We're getting really close to
the end of the game now.
Boo: Boolderdash, Health: 100 HP
The Artist's Studio: To get here go
from the Cellar up the corridor leading to the Balcony and take the last
door on the right. This is the second to last portrait ghost of the game,
so don't expect to just walk into his room and vacuum him up, this guy
has set up some defenses. You will have to face a series of three identical
ghosts at the same time, coming from one of Vincent Van Gore's paintings.
You will have to face a total of seven sets of ghosts before you can get
to Van Gore: three orange ghosts, three purple ghosts, three blue ghosts,
three red grabbers, three green ghosts, three Beezo ghosts, and three purple
hangers. After you have defeated the horde of his "art" you'll find Van
Gore quite easy and may even be able to take him all out in one go if you
vacuum him into the corner and just keep pulling. Once you have him the
painting of the closed chest will turn into a painting of an open chest
and the final key of the game will pop out.
Boo: Bootique, Health, 300 HP
Secret Altar
If you are planning to go to the final
boss then you'll need to have 40 Boos and go through the door at the end
of the basement corridor. When you enter the room keep your distance from
King Boo but vacuum the chandelier for a sapphire and shake the candles
on the right side of the room for a gold bar and some money, then approach
King Boo. You will hear King Boo muttering that he must have a Luigi painting
for his collection to go along with his Mario one, then King Boo will turn
around to Luigi and announce that he is not scared of Luigi but only his
Poltergust, and so he will fight Luigi and spin the room around, and when
it stops the Mario painting has become a Bowser painting which he flies
into along with Luigi.
You will reach the Roof of the mansion with a massive, overgrown Bowser glowering at you from the other side. So Madame Clairvoya was right, Bowser is running things around this mansion. You will notice Bowser has a few attacks here, so I will list them and tell you how to deal with each one. Bowser may conjure up some massive spiked bombs and try to throw them into you. If this happens don't try to run away, just dodge them and stick one on the end of your vacuum. If Bowser does think you've tried to dodge his spiked balls by pulling back too far he will jump into the air, so my advice to you is just drop the spiked bomb and run as fast as you can across the roof because if he lands on you it's gonna hurt, but if things go according to plan, wait 'til he bends his head down to either use his firebreath or suction attack and stand back and launch one into his mouth. His head will come off; turns out the Bowser was just a robot being controlled by King Boo as the robot head starts try to spit ice balls at you and King Boo flies out with 500 HP, so show 'em who's boss by vacuuming King Boo as much as you can before he returns to his Bowser suit. Be sure to keep moving all the time or the Bowser head might freeze you solid. I do not really have much else to tell you apart from that if Bowser uses his suction attack when you have no spiked ball handy, stay out of the line of fire. If the same happens with his firebreath attack, stand back, as this attack might reach further than you think. Remember that it is better to keep your health than try and go in for the kill and lose health here. Anyway, once Bow- er King Boo is down to 200 HP the Bowser robot will put its head on backwards every time you're done vacuuming King Boo. This leads to him charging around the arena, crashing into pillars and everything as he goes, so just make a few swift moves out of the way and wait until he's realligned his head. Once you defeat King Boo you'll claim his crown, which has a Red Diamond on it (and is treated as a Red Diamond).
The Ending
The game ends with Luigi collecting King Boo and the Bowser robot falling to the floor on the roof of the mansion. When Luigi returns to Professor Gadd's lab the mansion disappears, but with the treasure Luigi collected in there, which Gadd says Luigi can keep, Luigi gets a new mansion built. Then the game goes through the portraits you've collected and the treasure you have. As for Mario, they put the ghost portrificationizer into reverse and put the Mario portrait through to reveal a very startled but safe Mario finally out of the clutches of King Boo. The credits play with a catchy version of the Luigi's Mansion theme in the background and the game ends. Of course a painting of your new mansion is hung by the door of the gallery along with how much money you collected at the end of the game, and how much money you had affects your rank and how great a mansion you get, so it could be anything from a small camping tent to a massive three-floor custom built mansion.
Hidden Mansion
After you have beaten the game you have a chance to enter the Hidden Mansion, which is based on the original mansion but has a few differences:
- The entire mansion is mirrored.
- All ghosts' attacks do more damage
here.
- The treasure you get is worth more
(you can get your first diamond in the Study).
- Your Poltergust 3000 is twice as
strong.
- There are weaker hearts here.
- There is more chance of finding a
Cursed Mushroom here.
- You will meet stronger ghosts earlier
in the game (you meet a blue ghost in the Parlor).
- You lose more coins when you take
damage.

FAQs
Q: Dude, where's the items section?
A: I felt an item section was unnecessary
so I only included a money section.
Q: Where's the enemy section in this
guide?
A: I do not currently have an enemies
section as I need slightly more information on certain ghosts' health,
etc, but may add one in the future.

A: Click the name Green
Yoshi at any place on www.lemmykoopa.com and you can Email

not answered in the FAQs, what do I do?

as copying my guide.

it right.
Q: I am finding treasure in places that
you do not talk about, some places you state have treasure don't, the hidden
mansion is not mirrored although you state it is, etc. Why is this?
A: You are probably playing a non-PAL
version of this game when this strategy guide is based on the PAL version,
although this guide should give you a basic idea of how to complete the
game.
Q: You haven't listed the locations
of all golden mice and money ghosts, why is this?
A: I thought I'd leave a bit of a personal
quest for you because, after all, if it was all done with a strategy guide
it wouldn't be a game, would it? (rhetorical question)
Q: Is there anybody you would like to
thank for helping you with this guide?
A: I would like to thank Lemmy for
letting me post this on his site.
Q: When was this guide last updated?
A: On January 21, 2006
