Mario:

Mario's moves are average. He can get a feather from a ? Block to get wings (like a Wing Cap). Just do a triple jump or shoot out of a cannon to fly. A Power Flower makes him float for a while. Aside from that, he can do the famous wall kick! Just jump to a wall and press B to kick off it.

Yoshi:
Power: XXX
Speed: OOX
Jump: OOO

This is the character you start with. He can't punch, but he can eat stuff! While Yoshi has something in his mouth, press R to lay an egg. Throw the egg with A! Bob-ombs can't be swallowed because they explode! Release them with A. Eat a ball of fire to breathe one breath of fire. Press and hold B to flutter jump. It's a lot easier than nasty old long jumps! Get a Power Flower to breathe infinite fire for a while.

Luigi:
Power: OXX
Speed: OOX
Jump: OOO

Luigi is a tad bit better than Yoshi in stats. If it's jumping power you need, Luigi's your man! Get a Power Flower to make Luigi invisible and pass through almost any mesh. Press and hold B to scuttle. Luigi can't stay in the air for as long as Yoshi can, but when it comes to the backward somersault, he can! Do the backward somersault and Luigi will float, making it easier to get from high to low. Make Luigi run on water to walk on top of it for a while.

Wario:
Power: OOO
Speed: OXX
Jump: OXX

He is the worst swimmer, runner, and jumper ever! But he is so strong! Use his punch to break black bricks! A Power Flower makes him metal so he can walk on the ocean floor and not be harmed by anything except falling. In VS mode, he can toss opponents using Control Pad to spin and A to throw.
 

Bob-omb Battlefield
Enter the Painting in the Room with no number.

Star 1: Big Bob-omb on the Summit
Character Needed:Yoshi

Begin the game. Go to the door and find out it's locked. Lakitu will talk to you. Go to the hedge maze and eat the rabbit. He will give you the key. Open the door and go to the door on the left side on the first floor (the door without a Star). Enter the painting. Go to the bridge and eat the Goombas there. Then get in the flower patch and warp to the other side. Then start making your way up the spiral mountain. Watch out for the wrecking balls! Use the hole when you're halfway up to warp to the top! Talk to the Big Bob-omb to start fighting. Eat the Bob-ombs he throws at you and spit them back at him. He will bounce around for a while. Repeat this three times to get a Star!

Star 2: Foot Race with Koopa the Quick
Character Needed: Yoshi (Turn into Mario)

Go to where the Goombas are and eat the one with Mario's hat. Go over to Koopa and say Go. Then run down the road as fast as you can! KTQ will cheat. But Mario can cheat too! Use the two warps I told you about before. Race him to the top before he wins! Wait for him to come and he'll give you the Star.

Star 3: 5 Silver Stars
Character Needed:Yoshi

Meet Silver Stars! They have 1/5 the power of a gold Star. Collect five to make the Star appear. Just don't get hurt or you lose one and have to chase it. Here they are:

1. On top of a tree near the Star Sphere.
2. On the Chain Chomp's tail. Just chase him down.
3. Defeat the three Goombas near the four posts next to the tilting bridge.
4. Look in the flower patch with eight coins.
5. Follow the path until you come to a Goomba. Kill it.

Get back without losing a Silver Star to win the gold Star.

Star 4: Big Bob-omb's Revenge
Character Needed: Mario

You need Mario this time. Go back to the top of the mountain as explained in Star 1. This time you must pick him up and throw him just like in the original. Big Bob-omb is a tad bit faster than he was in the original. Just get behind him and throw him three times. But he will land further, so be careful how you throw him. Throw him three times without being thrown off to win!

Star 5: Mario Wings to the Sky
Character Needed: Mario

There is no Mario cap this time. So be the real Mario! You need to get the ? Blocks for this. Just stand on the sun at the foyer and look up. In the original you need 10 Stars, but this time, you need 14 Stars! Get 14 Stars and look up to the light. Go to the platform and step on the ? Switch. Now all ? Blocks will become solid! Go back to the Battlefield. Tell the Bob-omb Buddy to activate the cannons and use them and the feather to get on the floating island! Then aim at the five coins in the center rings. It takes luck, but you'll do it! Get the five center coins to make the Star appear!

Star 6: Find the 8 Red Coins
Character Needed: Anyone

It's red coin time!

1. At the platforms next to the bridge.
2. Near the Goombas at the top of the rock.
3. At the post of the Chain Chomp.
4. Go to the side next to the bars at the foot of the mountain. Get in the cage to find it.
5. Go to the grassy slope at the foot of the mountain.
6. Blast to the floating Island.
7-8. Near the four posts. The Star will appear there.

Star 7: Behind Chain Chomp's Gate
Character Needed: Anyone except Yoshi

I found three easy ways to do it. As Luigi, use a ? Block to turn invisible so the Chomp can't hurt you. Pound the post down three times. As Wario, turn metal and punch the Chomp so it cannot hurt you at all. Wario can pound the post down in one stomp! As Mario, break the red brick block after the tilting bridge and use the Mushroom to become large! The Chain Chomp cannot hurt you and you can free him in one stomp! This strategy can be used with all characters except Yoshi, and it's the easiest! Grab the Star in the cage that the Chomp breaks.

Star 8: 100 Coins
Character Needed: Any (Mario is best)

Use Mario and his wings to get some of the 45 coins in the air. And kill Goombas and break blocks! Even collect the blue coin from the Koopa and pound posts and run around them! You should have no problem.
 

Whomp's Fortress
Go into the door on the first floor with a 1 on it.

Star 1: Chip off Whomp's Block
Character Needed:Anyone

Whomp's Fortress now has a new grassy area that wasn't there in the original. But let's worry about it later. Follow the road up and you'll find some walls that move in and out. Don't let the walls push you down. Now get across some moving floors. You can't fall into the abyss like you could in the original because there's new ground there. Get across that and you'll find two blocks and a ? Block. Get on the corner close to the blocks to warp to a small Whomp.Take the road to the left to find another one. Take the steps up to the Whomp King. Talk to him and make him fall down on you. Dodge his attack and pound his back. Repeat three times to get the Star.

Star 2: To the Top of the Fortress
Character Needed: Anyone (Yoshi is best)

Go back to the top of the fortress to find a tower with a Star on top. Get on the first step. Some steps slide in and out. When you get to the last one, jump in the top and get the Shine!

Star 3: Shoot into the Wild Blue
Character Needed: Anyone

Get on the shallow water and you'll find a Bob-omb Buddy if you go towards where the Star is on the map. Talk to him and get in the cannon. Aim for the platform under the floor. Try to make yourself hit the pillar and use the pole to get under to the Star.

Star 4: Red Coins on the Floating Isle
Character Needed: Anyone

It's red coin time!

1. On top of the fat sliding wall.
2. On top of the second Thwomp.
3. Next to the sleeping Piranha.
4. On the narrow edge between the sleeping Piranhas.
5. In midair. You can get in on the moving platform.
6. Go to the top of the fortress. Kick the plank twice and get the red coin on the brown platform.
7. On one of the green floating islands.
8. This coin was on a ramp in the original. But now it's in a flowerbed in the new area. Just follow the path and jump the gaps. The Star will appear back at the start.

Star 5: Fall onto the Caged Island
Character Needed: Anyone

Climb to the top of the tree next to you and get on the owl. Hold on until you get onto the island. This time it's much easier to get on the island. Just watch your shadow and get on the green grass on the island. Get the Star.

Star 6: Blast Away the Wall
Character Needed: Anyone

Go back to the cannon and aim at the corner of the wall. You should be able to chip it off. If no Star appears, it's the wrong wall! Anyway, if the Star appears, you can shoot back up there or walk.

Star 7: Switch Star of the Fortress
Character Needed: Yoshi or Luigi

Yoshi and Luigi can jump very well. Go to the new area under the moving floors. Break the block there to reveal a Star Switch. Step on it. You have plenty of time to get to the Star Sphere! So don't rush it. Just run around and avoid the Piranha Plants. When you get there, break the sphere and you got it!

Star 7: 100 Coins
Character Needed: Anyone

Kill Piranha Plants and press the blue coin switch to get a lot of coins! Even search for some red coins too!!!
