I love this game. I finished this game without any help. Any of you who need help is welcome. This guide is only for bosses and mini-bosses, however.
Prologue
Mini-Boss: Lord
Crump
HP: 5
Attack: 1
Defense: 0
Difficulty: Extremely
easy
This battle just
gets you used to the action commands. The only attack Crump has for now
is a body slam that is extremely easy to dodge. Goombella will guide you
through the battle. Not that you’ll need her help.
Boss: Blooper
HP: 12
Attack: 1
Defense: 0
Difficulty: Easy
Blooper has two
tentacles, each tentacle has three HP. Just defeat each tentacle and Blooper
will be unable to attack. That’s when you start pounding him. Use Power
Smashes and Headbonks to take Blooper out.
Chapter 1
Mini-Boss: Gold
Fuzzy and Fuzzy Horde
HP: 10/20
Attack:1 (both)
Defense: 0
Difficulty: Easy
First Power Smash
the Gold Fuzzy. He’ll bring in the Fuzzy Horde. This doesn’t really matter.
Just keep jumping on the Gold. Easy pickings.
Mini-Boss: Bone
Squad 1
Dull Bones HP:
1 each
Red Bones HP:
5
Defense: Red
Bones 3, Dull Bones 2
Difficulty: Extremely
easy
Power Shell,
Power Smash, dodge, hammer. Dead.
Boss: Hooktail
HP: 20
Attack: 5
Defense: 1
Dificulty: With
Attack FX R badge, easy. Without it, hard
Hammer her and
she’ll be weakened (if you have a certain badge, of course). When she loses
all her HP she’ll start bribing you. Refuse every single one of them. She’ll
eat the audience (eww) and revive half her HP. If you have any FP left
over, then use Power Smashes.
Chapter 2
Mini-Boss: The
Shadow Sirens
HP: (from youngest
to oldest) 9/12/10
Attack: (from
youngest to oldest) 1/2/1
Defense: 0
Difficulty: Easy
Start out with
a good Earth Tremor. Next use Koops’s Power Shell. If you leveled him up
this should take out Vivian. From there, just keep attacking.
Mini-Boss: X-Nauts
This is just
a fight against two X-Nauts.Each of them have four HP and an attack of
three. They have no defense.
Mini-Boss: 2 X-Nauts
This isn’t really
a boss. It’s only a boss because you have to fight them.
Boss: Magnus Von
Grapple
HP: 30
Attack: 2
Defense: 1
Difficulty: Easy
There isn’t much
of a strategy here. Just keep using strong attacks. When Crump releases
the hands, take them out immediately. Somewhere in the battle he’ll start
doing some weird earthquake move that damages you and your party members.
Chapter 3
Mini-Boss: Iron
Clefts
HP: 6 each
Attack: 4
Defense: ?
Difficulty: With
Yoshi, easy; without Yoshi, impossible
The first time
you face these guys they're impossible to beat. Tattle on both of them
if you want to, and run away. When you face them again with your new baby
Yoshi, use Gulp twice. Dead.
Mini-Boss: Rawk
Hawk
HP: 40
Attack: 4
Defense: 0
Difficulty: Easy
There isn’t really
any strategy for this battle. His attacks are really easy to dodge. At
some point in the battle he bring down the ceiling. Specials come in that
time.
Boss: Macho Grubba
HP: 60
Attack: 4
Defense: 0
Difficulty: Easy
This boss is
easy because Grubba doesn’t attack that much. First he powers up so he
can attack twice in a turn. Then he uses his extra attacks to increase
his stats. Just use a bunch of powerful attacks and you’ll be fine.
Chapter 4
“Boss”: ???
HP: 40
Attack: 4
Defense: 0
Difficulty: Extremely
easy
Just keep attacking.
When he gets low on HP he copies Mario’s body. No biggie. A few more attacks
and he’s done.
Boss: Doopliss
HP: 40
Attack: 4
Defense: 0
Difficulty: Ok
Vivian will join
the battle soon so don’t fret. Doopliss has all your abilities, and your
party members have all of theirs. Focus your attacks on Doopliss. Your
party members will just be replaced, and it’s kinda mean, doncha think?
Chapter 5
Mini-Boss: Embers
Don’t jump on
them.
Mini-boss: Two more Embers
Boss: Cortez
HP: 20
Attack: 4
Defense: 1
Difficulty: For
me, easy. For other people, can be quite hard
Cortez has three
forms. His first form is his whole body. Nothing special. Use Bobbery.
His next form is a bit trickier. He can use a charged up attack to cause
massive damage. Use Vivian. His last form is him and his weapons floating
in the air. Use Flurrie’s Gale Force or Vivian's Fiery Jinx to take out
the weapons. In the middle of his third form he’ll replenish his health
by killing your audiemce. I recommend Power Bounces and and other attacks
that cause massive damage to make the battle as short as possible.
Mini-Boss: Lord
Crump
HP: 30
Attack: 3
Defense: 0
Difficulty: Ok
Crump himself
is a pushover. What makes this battle harder is the X-Nauts. Crump will
hide behind a stack of X-Nauts, forcing you to jump. Focus on Crump, not
the X-Nauts. When the X-Nauts form into a wheel thing, dodge because it
hurts both you and your party member. Crump always attacks after the X-Nauts,
so be ready. He also has a surprise when you “beat” him.
Chapter 6
Boss: Smorg
HP: 50
Attack: 5
Defense: 1
Difficulty: Easy-Hard
Smorg starts
out with three tentacles. Each tentacle does 5 damage and has 5 HP. Use
something like Bobombast or Fiery Jinx to take them all out in one turn.
Damage time. Use your most powerful attacks, like Spring Jump or Art Attack.
The tentacles come back one more time. After the tentacles comes a huge
claw thingie that does 10 damage to you and your partner. Luckily it’s
easy to counter. By that time the Smorg should be almost dead.
Chapter 7
Mini-Boss: Two
Elite X-Nauts
These things
are so annoying. They have ten HP each, an attack of 5, and a defense of
1. Get used to them because thy’re all over here.
Boss: Magnus Von
Grapple 2.0
HP: 70
Attack: 6
Defense: 2
Difficulty: If
you don’t know what to do (which is why you are reading this guide), hard
Magnus 2.0 starts
out with his main attack, the drill. Quite easy to dodge. This is about
the same as the first version. When the fists come out, destroy them immediately.
Later in the battle he’ll use the audience for ammo and fire at the person
in front. I hope you put Mario in the back.
Chapter 8
Mini-Boss: Bone
Squad 2
HP: Dark Bones
20, Dry Bones 8
Attack: 5
Defense: 2
Difficulty: Easy
Start out with
a Supernova or Art Attack. If your partner can attack the Dark Bones, then
kill it. If not, use one of Mario’s strong attacks to take it out the next
turn.
Mini-Boss: Gloomtail
HP: 80
Attack: 8
Defense: 2
Difficulty: Not
exactly easy, but not that hard. Middle, I guess
Wow. Look at
those stats. Everyone says you should wear the Feeling Fine and Feeling
Fine P badges. I think it’s a waste of BP. Just do a simple A when he does
a poisonbreath or Megabreath attack (which I hope you never experience).
Speaking of Megabreath, watch out for that. Heavy damage and poisoning.
He sometimes jumps up and pounds the ground, causing massive damage to
you and your party member. Have somebody strong in the front since Gloomtail
usually damages there. It sounds really bad but it’s not that hard.
Mini-Boss: Shadow
Sirens minus Vivian plus Doopliss
HP: Doopliss
40, Marilyn 40, Beldam 30
Attack: Doopliss
7 Marilyn 7, Beldam 5
Defense: 0
Difficulty: Hard
Beldam does the
usual, driving you crazy with magic. Take her out first. Or you can take
out Marilyn first since she is the most powerful. You don’t really have
to worry about Doopliss. Or you could not follow my advice and make Doopliss
copy Koops, making him vulnerable to jump attacks. A lot harder done than
said.
Mini-Boss: Grodus
HP: 50
Attack: 7
Defense: 1
Difficulty: Easy
First use some
thing that takes out the Grodus Xs all at once. Next use Art Attack to
give as much damage as possible to Grodus. Do Art Attack a few more times
and you should beat him.
Mini-Boss: Bowser
and Kammy
HP: Bowser 70,
Kammy 50
Attack: Bowser
7, Kammy 5
Defense: Bowser
2, Kammy 0
Difficulty: If
you leveled up, medium; if you didn’t, a little hard
If you didn’t
level up after the battle with Grodus then you won’t have that much Star
Power or FP. If you have a good amount of Star Power then use Sweet Feast.
Anyway, take out Kammy first. She’s just like Beldam, always driving you
crazy with her magic. Bowser’s attacks are strong but extremely easy to
dodge. Bowser isn’t much of a fighter, huh? Gotta love the music, too.
Final boss, I
hope…
Final Boss: Shadow
Queen
HP: 150… wow
Attack: 7
Defense: 1
Difficulty: Hard
When the Shadow
Queen is in Peach form, Spring Jump away. When you drain half of her HP
she goes into her real form. She’s invincible now. Keep attacking. After
four turns, she gets all her HP back. A veeeeeeeeerrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyy long
cutscene follows. After a bunch of babble you get your stats back. Now
for the real battle.
What you should
really be afraid of is the Shadow Queen’s hands. To make the battle a lot
easier, follow this strategy.
Start out with
a good, fat Supernova. That should eliminate the hands. Whenever the hands
come back, use an all-damaging attack. If the Queen puts status effects
on you then use Sweat Feast or Sweat Treat. If you use this strategy then
she should be dead.
Optional Bosses
Bonetail
HP: 200
Attack: 8
Defense: 2
Difficulty: Mind-bogglingly
hard
I myself have
never beat Bonetail. I almost did but got killed on level 98 of the Pit
of 100 Trials. Bonetail is on the 100th floor of the pit. I think I have
a good strategy that involves Yoshi. Start out with your special move,
Power Lift. Then have Yoshi use Stampede. When Yoshi or Mario’s HP goes
under 10, heal immediately. When he’s low on HP he’ll start howling for
a whopping 20 HP. If you have beat Bonetail then you’ve mastered this game
and should brag to your friends.
Gus
HP: 20
Attack: 3
Defense: 0
Difficulty: Depends
on when you fight him
Gus has a spear
in his hand that disables your jump attack. That’s it. Would you rather
pay every time you go past there or beat him and never pay again? I wonder...
4 Clefts
HP: 2 each
Attack: 2
Defense: 2
Difficulty: Medium
If you get three
questions wrong on the quiz in Shhwonk Fortress then you have to battle
these things. The only way to beat them right now is to Power Smash and
super dodge.
Atomic Boo
HP: 40
Attack: 4
Defense: 0
Difficulty: Easy
To face the Atomic Boo you have to
go in Creepy Steeple. Charge up a Super Hammer. Boos will start to surround
you. Release the Super Hammer. Do that twice and the Boos will start to
form the Atomic Boo. The Atomic Boo is easy. He sometimes tries to confuse
you, which is really annoying. Keep Power Bouncing and Multibonking and
Atomic Boo will die. You get the Lucky Start Badge.
