Introduction

Mario Party 3 is the latest installment of the Mario Party series, at least  until Mario Party 4 comes out, whenever that happens. But it was the last party N64 game to be released, which was in May 2001. Some say it’s the best of the series while others say it’s the worst. None of the Mario Parties are perfect, they each have their ups and downs. There is stuff from one game that people wish was in another. Mario Party 3 seems to be the most different of the three. You don’t buy Mini Games and there’s no Mini-Game Island/Coaster. Toad no longer sells Stars or acts as a guide, the Millenium Star does that. Daisy and Waluigi are in it too! Well, enough talking, let’s move on!

Castle Grounds

Here you can go to the castle, which has a sound test and records of mini-games and board plays. There’s also three stars. The blue one takes you to the Battle Royal Boards, red takes you to Duel Boards, and yellow takes you to the mini-game room. In Story Mode you can only go to the next board and you’re not allowed to enter the mini-game Room.

Mini-Game Room

You can play mini-games that you’ve found at your own leisure. The battle room is where you can play mini-game tournaments with your friends. If you earned a Miracle Star rating, you can enter Game Guy’s room and try to win 1,000 coins.

Story Mode

You will play the following events in order. You must win each event in order to move on. If you lose you must play the event again until you win. This mode is for one player only.

Chilly Waters
Gate Guy (Wit Star Stamp)
Deep Bloober Sea
Arrowhead (Kindness Star Stamp)
Spiny Desert
Pipesqueak (Strength Star Stamp)
Woody Woods
Blowhard (Love Star Stamp)
Creepy Cavern
Mr. Mover (Courage Star Stamp)
Backtrack (Beauty Star Stamp)
Waluigi's Island (Mischief Star Stamp)
VS Millennium Star

Battle Royal Spaces

Blue Space: Landing on this space will give you three coins, six during the game’s last five turns.

Red Space: This space will steal three of your coins, six during the last five turns.

? Space: This will trigger an event on the board. It can be good or bad depending on where you are.

! Space: You will play Chance Time. Hit the blocks to determine what the prize is, who receives the prize, and who will be providing the prize. You don’t get as much control as you did in the first two games though. You can decide what the first block will be but the second and third ones are tough. Just hope you don’t end up paying for a prize. If someone doesn't have enough coins or Stars, they will give what they have, unless it’s nothing.

Battle Space: Everyone will be forced to ante 0, 10, 20, 30, or 50 coins and a Battle Game will begin. If it’s 0, no game is played. Otherwise you will have to pay, and if you don’t have enough you pay what you can. The money is then added to a pot. The prize will be split between the first and second place winners of the games. First place gets two thirds of the money, while second place gets the other third. If there’s a leftover coin, it is given to one of the players at random.

Item Space: Either an item mini-game will start or Toad or Baby Bowser will show up. Depending on how you answer their question, you could win a prize.

Bowser Space: Landing on this will bring up the Bowser Roulette. He will steal coins, switch players around, put a curse or reverse curse on all player, divide all the players' money equally, give you an item, or do nothing. If you have no coins when landing on a Bowser Space, Bowser will kindly give you coins instead of the Bowser Roulette.

Bank Space: Passing this space will make you deposit 5 coins. Landing on this space will give you all the coins in the bank.

Game Guy Space: This space will make you play a Game Guy mini-game.

Duel Map Spaces

Basic Space: Landing on one of these spaces will turn it into a character space of whoever landed on it. If you land on your own space, you will get coins from the bank. If your opponent lands on it, they must pay you coins.

Mini-Game Space: A Duel Game will start.

Power Up Space: Your partner(s)’ strength, stamina, and sallary will double. This will last until you get home.

Backwards Space: Gives you another roll, in reverse.

? Space: This will trigger an event on the board. It can be good or bad depending on where you are.

Game Guy Space: This space will make you play a Game Guy mini-game.

Battle Royal Boards

Chilly Waters: This is the easiest course. If you land on a ? Space or pay the snowman, he will roll a snowball if someone is in the snowball’s path. To jump over the  snowball, press A about a second before it would hit you. If you fail to jump, it will chase you over to the left or right side of the board. You can use this to your advantage though. Also, if two people are standing on the ice in the center of the board, it will crack and they must run off to the right.

Deep Bloober Sea: If you land on a ? Space in the center of the board, you will be placed on the other side of the trench. There’s also a shark who asks you to choose a path and press a button. If you hit the button that sets off the torpedo, you will be sent to the wrong path. If there’s only one button left, choose the wrong path and get sent to the right path. The ? Spaces in the upper left corner will cause the big fish to try and suck you in and spit you out, so press A a lot to stay safe unless you want to get to where the arrow’s pointing.

Spiny Desert: There are two Millennium Stars, but one’s a mirage. There’s no way to tell them apart unless you walk up to them. If he’s the fake one he will vanish. If you find the real one, he will reappear along with a new mirage. Using the Magic Lamp will always take you to the real Star. If you land on a ? Space surrounding either whirlpool, you and everyone nearby will get sent to the other whirlpool. There are also cacti that can be jumped over or send you to the right or left side of the board.

Woody Woods: There are many arrow signs telling you which way to go. They will switch directions whenever a new turn starts, someone lands on a ? Space, or someone pays the Moles five coins. The arrow signs can make getting around very annoying. There’s also two trees with ? Spaces in front of them. The brown tree will give you either five coins or another roll. The blue tree will either steal five coins or give you another roll in reverse.

Creepy Cavern: There are two tracks on this board with two stations each. If you pass by a Thwomp, he will offer you a ride to the other side for five coins. You need to time your jump to get on the car. If you get hit by the car, you will be bounced off to the side. The Whomp King won’t move unless you land on a ? Space or give him the item he wants.

Waluigi’s Island: You must beat this level in Story Mode in order to play it in Party Mode. It’s actually several islands all together. The island with the dynamite will have the timer go down one point whenever someone steps on a ? Space. If the dynamite detonates, everyone on the island will lose all their coins. You will also need to lower the bridges to get to the left islands. There’s an intersection in the middle of the level; you need to time yourself to press A when the arrow is pointing where you want to go. There is also a fork in the road to Boo. One path is right, one is wrong, and there is no way of telling which path to take. The wrong path takes you back to the start.

Duel Boards

Gate Guy: A very simple course. You can take the middle path by paying five coins at a gate.

Arrowhead: An easy level. Not much to say about it.

Pipesqueak: Jumping into a pipe will take you to another pipe at random.

Blowhard: The fan in the middle will switch your partner(s)’ positions, so be careful.

Mr. Mover: The conveyor belt will take you one way one turn and alternate the next turn. Its hard to avoid it when you don’t go the right way.

Backtrack: Landing on a backwards space will change the direction the players must move. Make sure you have versatile partners on both sides.

4-Player Mini-Games

Aces High: This is similar to Shell Shocked from Mario Party 2, only this time you’re in a plane instead of a tank. Just dodge your opponents and shoot them to win. Your opponents will have a hard time finding you if you constantly move up and down.

Awful Tower: Get to the top first to win. Avoid the Hammer Bros. and don’t go after the coins unless you know you’re gonna lose. First player to the top wins. Take your time so you don’t fall off or jump into a hammer.

Bounce ‘n Trounce: Bounce and attack your opponents so they fall off. The battlefield will disappear piece by piece until there is only one tile left. This is similar to Bumper Balls of the first to Mario Parties, but not as fun in my opinion. The survivor wins. Jump at your opponents and spin to knock them off course.

Cheep Cheep Chase: They should’ve called it Bubba Chase! Press A at all times, even when you’re diving underwater. If you hit even one bomb, you have no way of winning unless everyone else messes up. First player to the end wins.

Chip Shot Challenge: A watered down version of Mario golf with one small course. The location of the hole is random though. Try and estimate where the ball will land before swinging. It helps to not go first so you can see where other shots land. You may want to practice this one a few times before trying it for real.

Curtain Call: Keep track of where all the enemies are to win this easy game. If you make one mistake, you’re out. It ends when only one player is left or after enough turns have passed. Purposely highlight the wrong choice into making your opponents think that the right choice is wrong, and highlight the right choice at the last second. Press A to hide your selection so the other players can’t see if you wish.

Frigid Bridges: Pick up blocks of ice and carry them to the center. Falling in will cost you, so keep steady and avoid the fish. First player to bring all their blocks to the center wins. Stay on the middle of the bridge and
don’t go too fast and you shouldn’t fall in.

Ice Rink Risk: Dodge the Spiny shells. The survivor will win coins, unless there’s a tie. You can stun your opponents by jumping on them. Don’t go near the shells to be safe.

MPIQ: Be the first to answer three questions correctly to win. The questions are either very easy or very hard. Wait until most of the question is displayed before answering. If you’re too fast you may not have
enough information to answer; if you're too slow someone else could buzz in.

Mario’s Puzzle Party: This is a lot like Tetris Attack. Match up the blocks to create combos. The first player with 100 points wins. The bigger the combo, the more points you’ll get and the more blocks you’ll break.

Messy Memory: Pay attention to the original display, and try to match up as many pieces as you can. Remember to close your curtain when you’re done. You will get one point for each correct piece. The player(s) with the most points wins.

Parasol Plummet: Collect the coins. You will fall faster when your parasol is closed. Dodge the hammers and stay near the top to grab the coins before the other players. Everyone keeps the coins they collect in this game.

Picture Imperfect: Try to match the correct face. Hit the block when you want to stop the part from moving. Each part moves faster and faster, but you get more points for the harder parts. Whoever has the most points wins. You will need good timing to match up the parts.

Pipe Cleaners: Once you learn the controls, this game’s easy. Just whack the Baby Bowsers. Most points wins. Remember, the upper right pipe is Up + A, the lower right is Down + A, the upper left is Up + B, and the lower left is Down + B. Some of the Baby Bowsers appear for a very short time, so being quick is the key.

Rockin’ Raceway: Alternate between A and B to move. Try and keep up a rhythm and avoid the blue carrots. First one to the finish wins. Don’t use up all of your carrots or you’ll spin out. If you approach a carrot, make
sure it’s orange when you touch it.

Snowball Summit: Roll snowballs and throw them at your enemies to knock them off. The survivor wins. If someone has a big snowball, roll yours into them. They will lose their snowball and maybe bounce around a bit. Try and get your opponents when their backs are turned.

The Beat Goes On: Keep track of the beat. You will have to add your own note at the end. It keeps on growing so don’t forget it. The survivor wins. If you want to be cheap, write down each note on a piece of paper as the beat gets longer. Then, when it’s your turn, use the paper as a guide.

Toadstool Titan: Find the block with the Mushroom and use it to grow big and crush your opponents. The downside to being big is that the controls are jerky and bumping into a wall stuns you. If you don’t find the Mushroom, run over and grab the Mushroom before someone else does. The survivor wins.

Treadmill Grill: Don’t fall off and avoid the Podoboos. Push the other players around so they fall off. The survivor wins. Try and lure your opponents into the Podoboos or to the edge.

Water Whirled: Control the boat with the control stick. Be the first to complete five laps to win. Press up to move forward and left and right to move left and right, no matter what direction you’re facing.

3 vs 1 Mini-Games

Boulder Ball: If you’re a runner, make it to the top to have your team win. If you’re tossing boulders, make sure no one makes it up within the time limit. The runners have the advantage this time around. Try to aim the boulders diagonally, which will increase their chances of hitting someone. The runners should stay on the left, right, and middle as the tosser can’t reach everyone at once.

Coconut Conk: If you’re in a tree, ground pound the tree so it will drop a coconut. Avoid the coconuts as the barrel. The people in the tree win after they hit the barrel once. The barrel wins by surviving. Try to lure the
barrel onto one side and drop three coconuts at once to increase the chances of it getting hit.

Crazy Cogs: If you’re the controller, move the cog around so that the players hit the Bullet Bills. If you’re on the cog, avoid the Bullets. The controller wins when everyone else is hit. The players win if even one of
them survives.

Hand, Line, and Sinker: If you’re the fisherman, try and grab the fish. If you’re a fish, avoid the hand. The fisherman wins by collecting all three fish. The fish win by not all getting caught. Stay in the middle as a fish,
facing left or right when the fisher casts, so you have a place to escape to if he goes after you.

Hide and Sneak: If you’re hiding, hope that the seeker doesn’t find you. If it’s the last turn, and at least two of the people who are hiding are alive, tell each other where you are hiding so you don’t pick the same spot. That way, you can’t lose. If you’re the seeker, just pray you find those in hiding. The people in hiding win if even one person survives, the seeker wins by finding all three opponents.

Ridiculous Relay: If you’re in the air, keep holding right, even if you hit something. If you’re in the water, move as fast as you can. The flyer has the advantage here. Whoever crosses the finish line fist wins. Press A and B alternatively to move the rowboat. Press Up + A, Down + A, Up + B, and Down + B to move the water strider vehicle, and press A as fast as possible to move the Torpedo Ted.

River Raiders: Collect the coins. The team has the advantage this time around, as there are more people to collect coins. If you’re in the boat, try to get your opponents to hit the obstacles.

Spotlight Swim: If you’re a light controller, keep your light on the swimmer. If you’re a swimmer, dodge the lights by diving. The controllers win if all three lights are shining on the swimmer. The swimmer wins by not
getting caught. Keep track of the swimmer if they go underwater by looking for their bubbles.

Thwomp Pull: If you’re alone, you must press A, B, or Z when necessary. The team must press their buttons when necessary. It helps to be alone, but the team can win too. The first sled to cross the finish line wins. Don’t proceed if it looks like you’ll hit a snowball, wait until it passes.

Tidal Toss: If you’re in the middle, create as many waves as you can, the bigger the better. If you’re in the water, make sure at least one person survives to win. Create lots of little waves, followed by a huge wave, which should hopefully throw off your opponents. Keep in the center if you’re in the water.

2 vs 2 Mini-Games

Baby Bowser Broadside: Try to hit the Baby Bowser target with your partner as much as possible. The controls in this game are really jerky at times and you’re always moving, so be careful. Most points wins.

Cosmic Coaster: Avoid all of the signs to reach the goal before the other team. First place wins.

Eatsa Pizza: Press A repeatedly as fast as possible to eat pizza while moving towards any uneaten pizza. The team that eats the most wins. Agree with your partner to eat one half while you eat the other, that always works best.

Etch ‘n Catch: Work with your partner to create a circle formation around Toad. This game is very tricky as Toad moves around all over the place. The team with more Toads wins. It doesn’t have to be a circle, just trap Toad between the lines.

Hyper Hydrants: If you’re working the pump press A to push it down when the handle is at the top and B/Z when the handle is at the bottom. Try to keep a rhythm going to constantly keep water flowing. If you’re working the hose, aim at the Podoboos until they’re doused out. Pressing A will spray water, but only a short distance. The team that douses the most Podoboos wins.

Log Jam: If you’re picking up the logs, press the correct button on the log to place it on the stump. If you’ve got the axe, press the correct button to chop it. The chopper has it easy here, as the placer needs to respond faster, while the chopper has time to realize what button to press. The team with the most cut up logs wins. Pressing the wrong button will stall you for a moment.

Picking Panic: If you’re a picker, grab the cherries and toss them at your partner at the right moment. Ifyou’re a catcher, grab the cherries when they’re within reach and toss them into the basket. Cherries come in groups of one, two, and three, and the more cherries there are, the more they weigh, so be careful. The team with the most cherries in their basket wins.

Puddle Paddle: Work with your partner to go after the coins and watch out for the hammers. Watch out for your opponent’s raft as well.

Pump, Pump, and Away: The controls are the same as the pumper role in Hyper Hydrants. Press A to push it down when the handle is at the top and B/Z when the handle is at the bottom. The more air the better, as it will help your rocket go higher and hopefully win.

Slot Synch: Match up your block with your partners. Goomba is worth one point, Koopa two, Toad three, and Baby Bowser is minus one. Use timing to get the right sides. If you have a CPU as a partner, they will always hit what you hit, even Baby Bowser. Hit it right when Baby Bowser’s face appears to get Toad.

Battle Games

All Fired Up: Avoid the Podoboos. Only jump over them when you want to get in the center after they form a circle, and to get out of the circle when they close in on you. Win by being the last one left or surviving the time limit.

Eye Sore: Be the first to run around Mr. I 15 times to win. Don’t bump into Mr. I or the Podoboos and you’ll be fine.

Locked Out: Pick up a key that matches one of the doors and use it to open a door and escape. Make it through every room to win. If an opponent has a key you need, punch him/her so they’ll drop it, then try to grab it.

Merry-Go-Chomp: This game is all luck, like Bowser’s Big Blast and Day at the Races from Mario Party 2. Just pick a color and hope that the Chomp doesn’t pick you. There is no way of telling which color he’ll pick. The survivor wins.

Slap Down: Be the first to press A when the matching flower appears. Don’t press it on another flower or you’re out! The first person to slap down on the right flower wins. Fast reflexes help a lot.

Stacked Deck:  This game is like Merry-Go-Chomp, as it is based on luck. There are six Toads, four Baby Bowsers, and two Boos. Hit a card and hope that it isn’t Baby Bowser. Boo will mix up the order of the turns. The survivor wins. There is no way to tell which card’s which until you jump on them.

Storm Chasers: Keep your plant under the cloud as much as possible. You can tell when it’s getting water as it will flash. The player whose plant gets the most water will grow biggest and win. Avoid the Monty Moles and don’t let your opponents get water.

Three Door Monty: Keep track of where Toad, Boo, and Koopa are. The first person to answer correctly wins.

Duel Games

Baby Bowser Bonkers: Stomp on as many heads as you can. Whoever nails the most wins. You can just walk onto the heads instead of jumping on them if you wish.

Bowser Toss: Press A as fast as you can and angle the control stick to toss the Bowser dummy. Easier said than done. This game is impossible! You need a turbo controller to win! I hate it! I never beat the CPU except on easy. My record is 35 ft, they get stuff like 75! Not fair!

Crowd Cover: Press A, B, or Z depending on which picture you think it is to win. You win by guessing correctly or having your opponent guess wrong. This one is really easy. Pay attention to stuff like the position of arms, mouths, eyes, and legs to help you decide.

End of the Line: Choose the tunnel you think is right. If you go off the cliff, try the other tunnel. Make it to the station first to win. Your opponent has the same route so pay attention to where they go.

Fowl Play: Catch the chicken to win. It’s like catching MIPS the rabbit in Mario 64, but a bit easier.

Motor Rooter: Use the boosters to speed up, and avoid the electricity. The first one across the finish line wins. Remember that the controls are the same when upside down. If you press right, you will move counterclockwise, and left is clockwise, no matter where you are.

Popgun Pick-Off: Hit the Baby Bowser targets as much as you can. Hitting Toad will take away ten points so avoid him at all costs. The most points wins.

Silly Screws: Line up the screws with A and B and jump to the next screw. First one to the end wins. A will move away from the wall, while B moves towards it. Don’t go too fast or you’ll pass where you jump to the next screw.

Tick Tock Hop: Jump over the minute hand whenever you’re about to come in contact with it. Win by having your opponent get hit.

Vine With Me: Press A to jump off a vine. Make sure you’re within reach when jumping. First one to finish wins.

Item Mini-Games

Bobbing Bow-loons: Time your shot to get the item you want. It is harder to get the items on the left. Practice this one a bit.

Dorrie Dip: Ground pound Dorrie when the item you want is at her left fin and she should end up grabbing it.

Hey, Batter, Batter!: The earlier you hit the ball, the further to the left it will go. Hit it later, and it will go to the right. Just make sure you hit it.

Swing ‘n’ Swipe: Keep track of the item you want and hit the Baby Bowser who has it. Easy. Just make sure you don’t accidently hit another Baby Bowser when you swing.

Swinging with Sharks: You should jump while you’re moving towards the right. The further you are, the further you’ll fly. If you land in between the barrels you’ll lose.

Winner’s Wheel: Press A right before the item you want lights up to stop the whell on that item.

Game Guy Mini-Games

Game Guy’s Lucky 7: The object of the game is to be on the same step or higher than Game Guy. There are seven steps and you will roll a six-sided die. First Game Guy will go, then you will go. Game Guy may or may not roll again. Only roll a second time if he’s higher than you or you’re on the first or second block, because your winnings will multiply by ten if you land on 7.

Game Guy’s Magic Boxes: Toad is in one chest and Baby Bowser is in the other. If you get Baby Bowser it’s game over. If you get Toad you can try again a second time to double your winnings, and a third if you’re lucky enough. Since there’s no way to tell which box to pick, you should leave after the first round to be safe.

Game Guy’s Roulette: Pick a space and hope that the shell lands on it. The smaller the space, the higher the payout. Pick someone like Koopa, Bob-omb, or Goomba and cross your fingers.

Game Guy’s Sweet Surprise: Bet on which Chomp will finish first. The
smaller one rarely wins but offers a bigger payout. Bet on the big Chomp to play it safe.

Special Mini Games

Dizzy Dinghies: The controls are the same as in Water Whirled. The whole point of this game is to try and set a new record on one of three course. Unlock this game by finding all of the regular mini-games.

Mario’s Puzzle Party Pro: A one-player version of Mario’s Puzzle Party. Instead of racing to 100 points, you will race against the clock. Unlock this game by earning 1,000 coins in Game Guy’s room.

Stardust Battle: Pick up the stars that fall and throw them at the Millenium Star. Don’t touch the stars when they’re red. Nine hits will defeat him. Easier said than done. Unlock this game by beating it in Story Mode. The floor will change from normal to sinkable to slippery.

Items

Mushroom: Costs five coins from Toad. Using it will let you roll two dice blocks on one turn, allowing you to move anywhere from 2 to 20 spaces. If both of the numbers you roll are the same, you will receive 10 bonus coins! If they are both 7, you’ll get 20 bonus coins!

Skeleton Key: Costs five coins from Toad and Baby Bowser. You can use it to unlock locked doors.

Poison Mushroom: Costs give coins from Baby Bowser. Use it on any player including yourself and they will have to roll a die block with the numbers 1 to 3 on their next turn.

Reverse Mushroom: Costs five coins from Baby Bowser. Use it on any player including yourself and they will have to move in reverse on their next turn. It’s useful if you want to get a Star that’s a few spaces behind you.

Cellular Shopper: Costs five coins from Toad. Use it to call up Toad or Baby Bowser. You can buy an item and have it instantly delivered to you. Bear in mind that you can’t use that item until your next turn.

Warp Block: Costs five coins from Toad. You will randomly switch places with another player when used. Useful if you’re nowhere near the Millennium Star.

Plunder Chest: Costs ten coins from Baby Bowser. Use it on an opponent to steal an item. If they have more than one item, you won’t get to choose which one you get.

Bowser Phone: Costs ten coins from Baby Bowser. Use it on the player of your choice to have Bowser come and harass them with the Bowser Roulette. Keep in mind that the outcome of what happens may or may not be good for you. If Bowser goes after someone with no coins (including you), he will give them some coins
out of the goodness of his heart (not that he has much).

Dueling Glove: Costs ten coins from Toad. Use it on an opponent to start a Duel Game with them. Wager your coins and let the game begin.

Lucky Lamp: Costs ten coins from Baby Bowser. Use it and the Mushroom Jeanie will come and move the Millennium Star to a new space. Useful if you’re nowhere near the Millennium Star or an opponent is near it.

Golden Mushroom: Costs ten coins from Toad. Works the same way as a regular Mushroom, only you get to roll three dice. You can end up moving anywhere from 3 to 30 spaces. If all three numbers are the same, you’ll get 20 bonus coins! If they are all sevens, you’ll get 30 bonus coins.

Bowser Suit: Costs ten coins from Baby Bowser. Use it and you will wear a Bowser Suit during your roll. Every player you pass must pay you 20 coins. It only lasts one turn though.

Boo Repellant: Costs ten coins from Toad. If Boo goes after you, you will automatically spray him away with this and he won't be able to steal anything. You can only use it once.

Boo Bell: Costs 15 coins from Baby Bowser. Summons Boo on the spot. He will steal coins for five coins, or a Star for fifty. Make sure the opponent has no Boo Repellant unless you want to get rid of it.

Magic Lamp: Costs 20 coins from Toad. Use this and the Mushroom Genie will come and take you directly to the Millennium Star. Just make sure you have enough coins, unless you want to prevent someone from stealing the Lamp.

Item Bag: Costs 30 coins from Toad and Baby Bowser. This will give you up to three random items. If you buy it from Toad, you’ll get items that he sells. This same rule applies to Baby Bowser. There’s also a chance that you’ll get a rare item too. It’s worth it if you have the money and no items currently.

The following items are very rare and cannot be bought. They are found in Item Bags and Hidden Blocks.

Koopa Card: If you pass the Koopa Bank while holding this, you will have the option to withdraw all of the coins in the bank.

Barter Box: Using this will make you trade all of your items (minus the Barter Box) with all of an opponent’s items.

Lucky Charm: No, it’s not magically delicious! This will make the player of your choice play a Game Guy mini-game.

Wacky Watch: Five turns will be remaining at the start of the next turn, despite what turn it currently is.

FAQs

Q: How do I play as Daisy and Waluigi in Story Mode?

A: You can’t play with them in Story Mode. Live with it.

Q: What are Hidden Blocks?

A: Hidden Blocks sometimes appear when you land on a Blue Space. They can contain an item, coins, or even a Star!

Q: Can I control the Mini-Game and Bowser Roulettes?

A: Sort of. Press A exactly when the space you want lights up. This is fairly hard to do, especially on the Bowser roulette.

Q: What are the spaces on the Bowser Roulette, and what do they do?

A: XX Coins for Bowser: XX is the amount you must pay Bowser.
Bowser’s Star Steal: Bowser runs away.
10,000 Coin Present: Bowser runs away.
Bowser Revolution: Bowser takes all the players’ coins and distributes them evenly.
Bowser’s Coin Potluck: Everyone must pay Bowser XX coins.
Bowser’s Curse: Everyone will get cursed, meaning they are limited to moving three spaces their next turn, like a Poison Mushroom.
Bowser’s Reverse Curse: Everyone will move backwards on their next turns like with a Reverse Mushroom.
Bowser Shuffle: All the players will switch spaces.
Bowser’s Item Giveaway: Bowser will give you either Bowser Suits or Bowser Phones.

Q: How do I tell which Millennium Star is real in Spiny Desert?

A: The only two methods are reaching the Star or using the Magic Lamp, which always takes you to the real Star.

Q: What’s Super Hard difficulty?

A: Beat Story Mode on Hard difficulty to access it.

Q: How do I get an S, A, B, or C ranking?

Get an S ranking by having at least two more Stars than the person in second place. Get an A ranking by having one more Star than the person in second place. Get a B ranking by having the same number of Stars but more coins than the person in second place. Get a C ranking by tying for first place and rolling higher on the tie breaker die block.

A: I think they’re all equal, so it’s a matter of personal preference. I don’t care who I use.

Q: Is this game worth buying?

A: That depends. If you own the other Mario Parties, you might want to rent it first. If you don’t own the other Mario Parties but enjoyed them, get it. If you hated the other ones, don’t get it. Of course, why would you be here if you hate Mario Party? Also, since N64 is officially dead, you might be able to get it for a good price.

Q: Is it better than the other Mario Parties?

A: Yes. Some may disagree, but this has the most options and items, Story Mode and a Duel Mode, and Waluigi and Daisy. All it’s lacking that the other two had is a mini-game adventure mode.

Q: Who’s the best partner?

A: It depends on the circumstance. Piranha Plant is a good attacker, while Mr. Blizzard is a good defender.

Q: What’s the best item?

A: Magic Lamp! What’s better than an instant Star?

Q: Sometimes Toad’s shop appears, while other times, it’s Baby Bowser. What’s up with that?

A: If you'd read the instruction manual, you’d know that they randomly show up at the shops.
