Bioagraphy: Petey was born on Isle Delfino to Naval Piranha Plant and Nala Piranha. But a long time ago, they were destroyed by Yoshi and Mario. They had to save their babies, Piranha Petey and Piranha Bean (play Superstar Saga). Petey wanted revenge on Mario for killing his family, so he allied with Bowser and Bowser Junior.

Petey was assigned to guard a Shine Sprite from Mario at Bianco Hills. Back then, he was also practicing singing. When Mario came near him, Petey gave a monsterous roar, a roar so loud that Bowser could hear him. The roar told Bowser that Mario was near. However, the roar also busted the roof he and Mario were standing on. Petey tried to defeat Mario using gunk and head slams, but Mario was too good.

His next assignment was to guard another Sprite. Petey thought it was a sinch, so he slept until Mario came to fight him. And Petey got one wet wake-up call. He did his old moves, only this time he also flew, making it harder for Mario. However, when Petey got tired, Mario sprayed him, making him drop to the ground. Mario defeated Petey yet again.

Bowser was so upset to hear that Petey, along with Gooper Blooper, had failed him that he launched them to Mt. Lavalava. At the very last minute, Petey flew, thus saving his own life.

Petey heard that Mario was having a golf tournament. Lately, Petey had been studying golf at the time, so he attended. After playing a few good rounds with Mario, he switched from Bowser's side to Mario's. When Petey got a notice that there would be a racing tournament, he and his roommate went to build a kart It was a slick car made of warp pipes.
